We got our poodle groomed here, he had an accident and his tail was covered in pee when they gave him back to us. You would expect a clean dog from the groomers, and that isnt what we got. Also his top was also wonky, and one of his nails wasnt fully trimmed off. He was acting a bit scared as well and he isnt the type of dog to usually act scared after a groomer visit. I dont know if the angle shows it. He had quite a few nicks as well. The spots are those spots that are hard to get, but still, there wasnt anything applied to the injuries. The employees were all pretty nice to be fair. Edit: Thank you for the response and explanation, we were not informed about the mats in his tail or that the ticks left marks. :)

People there very friendly and knowledgeable and had no problem letting us hold a couple snakes me and daughters boyfriend liked

*** After posting this I did receive a call from the owner Carl that apologized and explained to me why the store would say that, he did offer to take the babies once they were old enough to be weened from their mother. Thank you Carl however I have found someone to take them that will re-home them instead of being sold as feeders. *** Beware this place sold me a pet rat, two weeks later it gave birth to 11 babies!! When I called they told me there was nothing they could do, I would just have to take care of them!! They lied and said that they don’t sell female rats even though when I purchased the rat I asked if it was male or female and she said female and the lady working there said they breed them and they had an aquarium full of babies with mothers. Very disappointed, that’s terrible customer service and they should have at least offered to take the babies!

I got my ferret from here. He is too young to be sold, firstly. Secondly he was way way underfed. He had dry food in the tiny cage (under 12weeks can’t eat JUST dry food). The conditions for the animals are horrible, ESPECIALLY the feeder mice and rats, they are piled ontop of each other where they can barely move and nothing should have to live like that. And ontop of all this it’s overpriced. I don’t suggest supporting the type of care they are giving their animals, I absolutely love my ferret but I regret spending the money there.

They really need to educate themselves on animal care. I walked out of this store in tears because of the condition of their reptiles. I have never been so upset and disgusted to where I have just walked away after saying something. These animals are SOOOO overpriced for their morphs causing them to stay there longer than other pet stores and that only elongates their lack of care. It’s been over two hours and I’m STILL sick to my stomach over the baby Boa that’s so close to death’s door.The extra star was merely for the purpose of them saying they will set him up in the back to care for him. I truly hope they don’t sell him to an even more uneducated home in that condition. His fate will be sealed if they do so.I run a small reptile rescue and I have YET to see a Boa that emaciated before because they are phenomenal eaters. I will think of that little guy for a long time and pray they put him in the hands of somebody who can rehabilitate him.

I feel like lady that was checking me out at the counter could have been little more friendly. I am was sad I wouldnt able to find my dog favorite toy. I did find a few toys that my dog like.

This store has the most diverse collection of aquarium fish that Ive ever seen in a pet store.

The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The prices seem to be better than the other pet stores as well, based on what I have looked for. We get all of our fish tank supplies here.

Not a large selection of anything other than dog and cat food. It was also over priced. However staff was extremely nice and courteous.

The workers are always knowledgeable and pleasant! They also have a good selection of feeder insects for reptiles and their feeder insects are the healthiest Ive found anywhere.

If I could give this place a 0 rating I would! My dog looks like he received a hack job. He was there for 3 hours, I was told he would be done by that time and came to pick him up was told to come back in 1.5 hours, he had to be completed by then so the lady could go home. I can’t even believe someone would let an animal walk out looking like that! Im not going to post a pic that’s how embarrassed I am! Never will I be back!!!!

I do like this PetsWay. I am currently fixated on someday acquiring a red factor canary in spite of the fact that I have never had a bird for a pet before... 😅 And if this day comes sooner than later, PetsWay could deliver! At least they could the last time I checked, which was just a few days ago! I have been watching these silly red factor canaries for weeks, months now even. And each time I go in with more questions about being a bird owner someday, the PetsWay employees here are always so helpful and informative, even though I repeatedly walk out the door with just cat food for my kitties... and no canary, at least not yet! But if and when I decide to finally take the plunge, this is the place I would like to get the canary from. Theyve just been so nice and helpful when I come in wanting to talk about these beautiful birds.

Signs are posted all over the store now stating they will no longer be selling live feeder rodents as of the end of October - pinky mice, rat pups, hopper mice, etc. If you are no longer going to supply food for reptiles then STOP SELLING REPTILES. It is irresponsible to set someone up with a pet and then not sell the food source that it need to survive. I have several snakes and some of mine do not tolerate frozen thawed feedings at this time - they must eat live. You’ve lost me and several people I know as a customers because of this.

Visibility from the street is good. The signage that is streetside is much better.Parking lot can be super busy with cars and pedestrians so be careful.The store is nice for being an older building. The employees are helpful.I do like the choices and pricing and rewards at Petsway over other pet stores.Drawback for me is they dont offer early hours. When I say early, I mean 7-9 am opening time. There are days that get so busy that being able to get to the pet store in the morning during kid dropoff, or grocery store errands, or oops Im out of pet food let me go grab that before my official day starts....well early hours would be super awesome!!Ive probably been to the store as many times during non-open hours as I have during open hours.

In my opinion this store has one of the best for fish selections, most of the time.

Was in earlier today (3/24/21)and was rather unimpressed with the work ethic, or the lack thereof, that I saw. One employee could not be detached from his broom to do anything, to the point we had to physically get in front of the broom to even request for Some sort of assistance. But unfortunately he could only muster up the energy to do one thing before he started having withdrawals from his broom, so I decide to leave without the rest of what I came in to purchase. Once we make it to the POS We are standing in line while the cashier seems to turn the counter into a match.com session and flirt with the customer in front of us for about 10 min. No wonder they filed chap 11, especially with employees like these.

Went to buy cat food. They carry my brand and type at a competitive price what more can you ask for, plus the employees are always pleasant.

I really like this store. I find most of the pet stores so much more expensive than online, but this store actually have a nice selection at reasonable prices. They also are always doing tons of fundraisers for local animal projects. I love that. And my favorite thing, they have a nice selection of cat products! I normally find most stores are mostly about dogs and a very small bit about cats.

Same layout, same things. Their tanks appear to be better kept up. This is just how I feel about PetsWay in general when it comes to fish for your tanks. Overall good variety with some oddities here and there. All the big chain stores ie Petco and PetsWay in the Springfield area seem to stock then.

Its a PetSmart got everything for your four legged friends.. my buddy dog goes up there on his own, its just around the corner... PetSmart will call him and let him know that his dog Buddy is hanging out.

Was trying to find a pet for my family & got a lot of help from staff narrowing it down to ferrets and all the necessary stuff needed for it. very nice and knowledgeble thanks, amanda!

Got home and noticed they did not take 75% off of a sign that I purchased. I did not want to drive all the way back for a few dollars. But it makes me upset to be overcharged.

I bought some booties for my dog here and when I got home with them there were only 3 of the 4 in the package. I put the receipt inside the package and saved it until the next time I went to Springfield, its an hour drive from my home. I went to exchange them or get the missing bootie and the assistant manager refused to let me exchange them or get the missing one! Then she followed my party around the store watching us shop like I was doing something wrong just being there. If you have to go to Pets Way DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Theyre unhelpful and rude to put it nicely.

This was the 3rd place we had gone to looking for zebra finch. Yay! Had some. Wish we had time and money. Several different types of finches. Quick and swift service.

Its ashame this is the only local broad pet stores we have in Springfield. The staff is pleasant enough, most of the time. There is just a huge lack of knowledge or even a passion to care to learn. There are a few diamonds in the rough, but definitely the exception, not the rule.

Called ahead to make sure they’d have large crickets; was told “we have plenty” and “we’ll have what you need!” yet within 12 minutes *every* cricket is out of stock? This is not the first time it’s happened which makes me feel yall aren’t actually checking when I call.

Everything was easy to find and staff was friendly, but I’m concerned for the small rats in the tank. I know they like to be cuddled up together, but the tank still seemed too cramped for them.

There are 5 Petsways in Springfield and this is my favorite one! The staff here is fantastic, friendly, patient, and always answers all of my questions! I have 11 pets and 6 of them came from this store. I got two healthy hand raised cockatiels here and 4 rats from here, as well as two cages, food, and lots and lots of toys, treats, and accessories. The staff is very knowledgeable about there products and animals. This also seems to be the cleanest of the pet stores Ive been to. I prefer this Petsway over the other large pet store chains such as Petsmart and Petco. They also have a fantastic rewards system here! You earn points for the money you spend and on your next visit you can use the points like cash towards your next purchase out you can let them build up and get something basically for free! Its not a credit card or anything, you just earn points in the sore and it is great. I love this Petsway!

Petsway is the only pet store I do business with. Every time I visit their stores Im greeted by multiple friendly staff members who are always very eager to help. They carrily higher end products but at the cheapest price. For examplr, My cat has to have a special diet or else she gets terribly sick. I had tried all different types of food, but nothing worked, and it was not looking good for her. My vet recommended multiple expensive diets. After trying two different types with no success, I visited Petsway. I spoke with a very friendly staff member who pointed me in the right direction. Not only has my cat been illness free on this new food, but Petsway is $10-$20 cheaper than everyone else! Plus, they have Millies favorite toy!Great Service and Products!

This location is very clean and has a much better staff than most Was greeted when I walked in and then was helped a lot in the back with reptiles. I had a gecko die recently and the blond girl in the back was very helpful in explaining what may have happened and how to fix my set up at home. When I first bought my gecko I wasn’t given much as far as care information, but this location obviously cares a lot about their reptiles and they were very educated. Thankful I came here

Fantastic pet store!! So clean and the staff knows their stuff. This has been our go-to pet store for the last several years for dog food, cat good, and fish supplies. Their fish selection is the best within the city of Springfield. The have good variety, but even more importantly their fish are always healthy and if not, they address the issue quickly and try to get them healthly again. You can count on all of your purchases from this store to be good quality, from the supplies to the pets.

Taylor always does a good job giving my boy a bath. She doesnt keep the dogs cooped up in a cage the whole time and she always talks lovingly to the animals under her care. Thank you Taylor!

The living conditions for the small animals are definitely not the best. A lot of the rats dont seem to be in good condition. If you get a rat or any small animal from here, I recommend keeping them separated from your other rats and taking them to the vet ASAP to make sure theres nothing wrong with them. They definitely need to get a better setup and a better breeder. Regardless if the rats are meant to be feeders or not. My mom decided to surprise me with a cute little rat from there, it clearly had a sinus infection so we took it back. All Im saying is be VERY careful.

I bring my dog here every weekend to let her take inventory and pick out a special treat!

The reptiles have been with out food & water. Poor things look in very poor health. How can they do this to these animals. I know for the past 7 days they haven’t had any water or food in their tanks. It’s simply wrong. These ppl are totally inhuman & lazy

I had shopped here a couple of times and had amazing experiences. The staff are friendly and very personable.I didn’t have any issues until earlier this week when I noticed an injured hamster in one of the cages. It had separated itself from the others and had a bite on its neck. Within seconds, I watched it be attacked by one of the others. I pointed this out to a cashier who assured me that the injured hamster would be removed from the cage and cared for.I didn’t think anything of it for two days until I had to come back to the store. I walked by the hamsters again, and was upset to see the same, bitten hamster, in the same corner, and watched it get attacked again, by the same cage-mate.I spoke to the manager and watched him remove the hamster from the cage and take it to the back.I felt uneasy about the situation so I came back the next day.Sure enough, same bitten hamster (with an additional bite), same corner, same attacker.I spoke again with the same manager and told him that I wanted to take it home with me. I acknowledged that it was injured and I may be taking it home to die in peace and I told him that was fine. He said that since it was injured, policy wouldn’t let me.He assures me once again, that the hamster will be placed in the office with a note that says not to integrate it back into the cage and it will be treated by a vet......Forgive me if I’m not convinced. How cruel.***EDIT***I was contacted by someone higher up, who has spoken with the store and says that the hamster is being cared for and behaving well.Once treatment is finished, it will be placed in another cage, away from the ones who were attacking it.I intend to follow up, but I appreciated being informed.

We loved our experience shopping here! Keep in mind that all pets need to be kept on a leash inside the store. We loved the idea of being able to rent your own stand to clean your dog! We ended up buying several toys for our puppy at a very reasonable price. We will be back!

This PetsWay is the best out of all the Springfield locations. They always have a great selection of reptiles, fish and rodents. Staff are pet owners themselves. Also they have full sized dog tubs

This place is really good to buy stuff for pets. The workers are really nice. DO NOT get your animals nails trimmed or hair cut here. My dogs ears were bleeding because they ripped the fur out of his ears.

We decided that we wanted to become parents to a bearded dragon, so we went in to Petsway to look but didn’t really have much knowledge about the terrariums or care. Heather was happy to share her knowledge of reptiles with us and was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable! The stories she shared about Beardie care and terrariums allowed us to make an educated decision and purchase the tools we would need to create the perfect home for our new Beardie. She was so fun and passionate about her job and the animals and she handled all of them with care. I definitely recommend talking with her, especially with any questions about reptile or rodent care! Took our fur baby Mickey in today to use the self service bath area.. What a wonderful set-up!! You pay a set price for the service and then get to go bathe your pooch.. Lots of room.. clean.. friendly staff.. Great place..

Self dog wash day!! They always have a great variety of products to choose from and have adorable bandanas. The stations are always clean and well stocked. I love that they have the dryers as well. Staff always treats my dog with kindness. All that for $15.

This is a much cleaner, albeit...newer store than the store off Kansas Expressway. Both though, have great employees and are helpful. Good selection of dog treats.

I find it suspiciously coincidental that the day after taking my dog to the wash I come home to find a Great Dane sized explosion in his crate. If they use disinfectant there I strongly suggest they get a little closer to the baths with it.
