I have a 2009 pickup that I have owned for 5 years and many inspections done. This place told me they would fail my inspection due to tinted windshield. Went to another inspection place and passed w no mention of tinted windshield. There is no consistent requirements and this place wants to be inspection police

I am highly impressed with this company. I took my.car in thinking I had a wheel bearing going out, and it was actually just bad tires. They contacted me and informed me of options, and was able to keep the repairs within my budget. I will, as long as I can, continue to drive an hour out to return my vehicle to these folks! Note, this review may or may not change, depending on condition when I receive my vehicle.

Jeff was very patient in explaining what the problems were with my sons truck and what it would take to fix them. They were up front about the cost, so there were no surprises when we went to pick up, and everything was done on time as described. They were friendly. I will give them that to be fair. But talk about the bare minimum. Im not going to sit here and carry on with melodrama, or argue with the owner over how I havent been here, blah blah. I just hope you consider taking your pride somewhere else. They dont realize when you foot a massive bill, and the issue is NOT fixed, your livelihood can be at stake. They gotta lot of bad karma headed their way, that much is true.

I had left my vehicle with them expecting to not have my problem resolved in the end (long story) and just wanted to more or less get a second opinion. I called the next day and they had located the issue and had a part on order for it. It was after 2 on Friday, and I expected them to be done Monday and call me back. Instead by 4 that same Friday they called that I could come pick my car up. Other shops might have replaced who knows how many components to eventually find my issue, so I appreciate them focusing on finding the problem first.Someone else didnt want to leave their car with them for diagnosis and gave them a one star rating. I just want to make the point that when they work on someones car it is their focus until resolved. On the one hand that might mean you have to wait for service, but on the other it means they will make fixing your car the priority when they get to it. Just want to ensure others seeing this understand that.

I didn’t personally go here, but my boyfriend did. Instead of fixing the problem, they caused more problems and charged over $3k. We were hoping they’d be kind, reliable, and reasonable, but now we’re left with more of a fancy paperweight than a vehicle. You ask for details about what they’ve done to your vehicle and they give you very vague information, which doesn’t help when you’re trying to fix the problems they created. I don’t recommend them for anything. Sketchy place and sketchy people. You’re better off learning how to fix it yourself.

I read good reviews about J&S Automotive. So I decided to give them a try. I called and spoke with Jeff and explained the issue on my Vehicle. Requested to see if I could bring my Vehicle to them by an appointment. I was told to bring on W/E leave it with them & they would look at it during the day and would let me know by the end of the day. Reading some of the reviewer were able to take their vehicles to J&S and were able to have their vehicle looked at/diagnosed right away and were given estimate of repair. I wonder if these reviews are INCORRECT!!!! I did not like the idea of leaving my vehicle whole day with them. I would have given 5 Stars if I was told (by an appointment) to bring my vehicle and they would perform diagnosis for the repair estimate.

The service and details of repairs required are equal to the auto repair services I received in Germany. Their digital platform of photos and videos showed me all the repairs required as if I was there doing the inspection myself. They did not make any unnecessary repairs to my vehicle in order to push for a financial gain. I strongly recommend this team.

Paid over 200 just for rotors and NOTHING worked. Still hearing and its gotten worse. Should just went to midas . Never again.

Twice I’ve brought my truck into J&S. Recently I was having trouble with my battery staying charged. I called late afternoon on Wednesday and I was able to bring it in at 8am the next morning. J&S’ service was prompt and professional.The service cost was comparable or even less than other shops. No surprise fees. Definitely will be bringing my vehicle back for future services.

The service was good and Jeff is friendly. Its the mark up on parts that got me. A belt that I could buy for 35.00 cost me 70.00 through them. All the parts were marked up too much.

J &S Automotive made a horrible day brighter. Traveling to Springfield Mo from Rolla MO we had a unexpected emergency with our vehicle. We ended up being towed ( as a precaution) to J& S Automotive. They were reccomended by our insurance company and the tow company. WE were to be picking up several dogs for a rescue and our car was out of commission. J and S first told us it would be the next day before getting us back on the road. Well, they managed to diagnosis and fix the issue within a few hours. They made sure my husband and I were safe, and comfortable and cool while waiting for our vehicle to be fixed. We managed to get the pups and on the road and home just before the rain came. If we lived closer to Springfield MO, we would use J& S for all our automotive needs. They were great!! Cant thank them enough for saving our day and our vehicle

We have taken our car here twice and received excellent service both times. We had a major clutch issue the first time, another mechanic kept struggling with the repair and we had it in several times. Brought it to J&S automotive and had it fixed right the first time. Highly recommend

I generally dread taking my car to the mechanic from eye rolls to surprise bills, nothing about the experience is generally pleasant. However, I found the experience at J & S Automotive to be totally different. Everyone I dealt with was super nice, they were upfront about the cost, they informed me of areas that may need attention in the future without pushing to sale of those repairs and they got job done quickly. I even received a digital version of the inspection with in-depth descriptions and videos of each of the inspection points along with photos from the inspection of my own vehicle, to really help me see and understand why those recommendations were made.

Went in for a tire alignment. Not only did they give me a complimentary car inspection, they called before the alignment to let me know that a strut was bent and would need to be fixed in order for them to get the alignment to factory settings. I had to decline for cost but they aligned it as close as they could and I am very appreciative that they didnt just fix the strut or add any hidden costs. They stuck to the quote they gave me for the alignment.The staff was also extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. I will definitely be going to this place next time I need car work!

Certified GM mechcanics ! Reasonable labor and no up charge on parts. If you own a Cadillac, Buick or GM. The dealership service departments will charge you 20% to 50% more. Unlike dealership repair services. You can discuss you cars issues before and after the repair with the actual technician that did the work. My cars health is important to me. Lol

As A former professional mechanic I have always performed my own auto repairs. Never trusted others to do it for me. Now my wife and I have bought a later model Scion XB. That’s getting A bit advanced for this old gear head. I brought it into J&S for state inspection. Went here in a bind to get a MO state inspection done over my lunch break. Was greeted kindly, worked right in, and treated more than fairly. There was one minor item needed to pass, (light bulb), that they fixed and ended up not even charging me for it! Also power steering fluid was low and they topped off my fluid, just as a courtesy. When I got to my car, they had even put a floor mat cover down to protect my car. From the short experience I had today, this place was outstanding and I will definitely look to them in the future for any auto repair needs. Thanks J & S!

Honest Mechanics! After paying they ended up calling me and letting me know I paid with a couple hundred dollar bills stuck together and returned the money. They also inspected my vehicle and did work that ended up costing half of what multiple other mechanics quoted me. I was also in and out in a day. No waiting over a long weekend or multiple weeks like some mechanics actually suggested would be necessary.

My daughter came here to get her car looked at. She is in the Army and in another state and had to leave the next day. They kept her car there for me for a month even though she didnt have them work on it. They were very patient with me about this. I will be taking my vehicles to them in the future. Great staff working here.

There are only two mechanics that are allowed to work on my car- one is in Texas and the other is J & S Automotive. They took great care of my vehicle and with their dedication and knowledge, they were able to have her running like new in no time! Best Mechanics in Springfield!!I have a POS Ford truck so you know it has to be constantly worked on. Having been a regular for 3 years now I can confidently tell you that these guys will take care of you. They use high quality parts for low prices, you wont find any Chinesium here folks! Theyve kept me on the road and out of debt, theyve even done minor maintenance work on my truck for free. If your car needs to be worked on for a couple of days (rarely, they are fast too) then they can get you a little rental car10/10

Took the car in Monday. I was going to have them replace the timing belt and water pump. $600.00. Ok. They call me back and say it would be better to do a tune-up and that they replaced the #1 coil pack. Estimate increased to $712.00. I asked them how they knew it was the #1 coil pack. They didn’t seem sure. They told me if my old one was still good, they would put it back in and not charge me for it. That’s when they called and said it was still running poorly and wanted to keep it overnight. I do not hear from them until I call at the end of the day Tuesday. They said they did an engine chemical treatment (without asking me) and that they needed to keep it another night. I asked how this would affect the price, and Jeff said it was the same price as the coil pack they had tried to replace. I was skeptical, because I am very familiar with BG Engine products, but I was not sure what chemicals they used, so I didn’t say anything. They drained my Mobil 1 oil that I had just had changed 2 weeks prior to do the chemical treatment, charged me $47.70 for the new oil they put in, and, for some reason, two oil filters. Turns out the VVT sensor was actually the problem, and they replaced it. They also replaced a power steering hose, and now my power steering pump is growling like a wolverine. It wasn’t when I brought the car in. Jeff said it is probably just air in the lines. Not the case.Long story short, unless you want them to just replace things until they find the problem, I would not recommend this shop. 0/10 would not use again.
