Cant say enough about Tim and the crew. They are super knowledgeable, will give you a prioritized list of repairs and let you know about potential issues before they become big ones. They keep you apprised every step of the way. Best shop for our German cars.

The German Auto Group of Springfield gets 5 stars in regards to diagnostics and repair services, good experience, and great attention to detail. I found that it was easy to establish a good rapport with the service representative and technicians. Their pricing is expensive, but they are upfront about that and do not inflate any part of it by the time you get your bill. They will try and save you cost where they can. Im not going to Gig them on their facility in Springfield, but it is a little run down. Their Alexandria facility is a bit nicer.

My ten year old 328 had a rear tail light malfunctioning. After replacing it once, I decided to take it to these guys. They dont take appointments, you just drop in. I dropped it off on Thursday evening around 4pm with Mike, and by Saturday morning by 11am he called and said it was finished! Diagnosed as a wiring issue and a short, some malfunctioning LED bulbs (which they replaced), and a reprogramming needed, all for less than $500, which was half of what I expected to pay and less than a total replacement at the dealer. No extra parts needed, no replacing the entire thing, they diagnosed what caused it, repaired it, and repaired the existing parts. Cant ask for more than that!Theyve got a repeat customer for sure, although I hope I dont have to see them again for awhile. Best service around, hands down better than both Fairfax and Alexandria BMW dealerships which upsell you, take forever simply to diagnose an issue, and argue with you on the phone. Great service at German Auto Group!

They never make me wait longTheir prices are less than half that I was paying the Porshe dealership. They helped me and took me as a walk in when I have to get done quickly when I have a patient in labor and most recently to get my husband who is having cardiac surgery tomorrow; back home. Took in my E350 for maintenance service and to replace the brakes pad and Rotors and my experience with German Auto was Amazing. My service advisor was Shabaz who explained me all the details and answered my question before starting the service. Shabaz kept me in the loop with the progress on my car service which was great so I had a better idea when the car will be ready.I will definitely be using German Auto for all my car services as their prices are lower then the actual dealership and they use the same original parts as the dealership. If you own a German car, I highly recommend you give German Auto a chance to provide you a great service and save you money.

It was okay experience. Couldnt get my repair done due to my extended warranty not covering it. Customer service was good here. Labor prices are about the same to the bmw dealership.

So I bought a used BMW truck so that I could garage my Maserati and I took it to the dealership last year just for regular inspection and they ended up messing it up and having to do most of the work for free but still left my vehicle with problems. I took it here and it was straight up no hassle and all the problems got fixed for a couple hundred dollars. I will never be taking my vehicle back to the dealership again.

Fast, efficient, honest repair shop, fix came in lower than the estimate as they noted parts on estimate were still good and didnt need replaced. Shuttle service is a nice touch as well.

Update: Mr Sammy responded to my review and professionally resolved this issue. I appreciate his attention and swift action. I will consider returning to GAG in the future.I hate to be the odd one out, but felt it necessary to set my conscience straight by relating my recent experience with German Auto Group.I went in for an Oil Change, and came out with a debilitating coolant/heating problem that sidelined my vehicle. Interesting how they told me I had an existing coolant problem, when they didnt see if during their 25 point check nor when topping off all my fluids...but I barely made the 8 mile drive home. The major leak is right near the Oil Filter Cap housing...and I think a slipped wrench is the culprit...Ive had to purchase the repair parts and expended many hours to fix. You make the call...

I had an awesome experience they outshined the Bmw dealership by far.

I had a very bad experience with this shop. Theyre decent for basic car service/maintenance needs, but if you have a complex issue like I did I suggest to stay away from them. They boxed me into a corner with super expensive solutions for my failed engine on my Audi A4. All they care about is how to run the clock on the labor done on your car. I felt like no one cared about providing an excellent service and working to get my complex repair addressed. My audi had an issue with timing chain and broken tensioner. I spent $400 at this shop, before I found another solution and had to get the car towed out of that shop. I found a mechanic that completed the job for 30% less cost that this shop quoted.

I do have mixed feelings about some of my experiences. I think theyre good Guys working there and the Mechanics knows there jobs.But I was over charged several times by John for diagnostic.Thank God the other nicer Arab guys working there listen to my explanation and removed the extra charges.I think its sad when only one person keep over charging me always when I took my car there.But overall, I will always recommend it to everyone

I was disappointed with my service at German Auto Group. I went in for a brake replacement and oil change. However, they recommended additional service be performed on a belt and also to replace the brake fluid. The brake fluid had been replaced only months before. When I took my car to the dealer (for another issue) the following week, they said that the brake fluid was fine (though overfilled after the brake job) and the car did not require the belt replacement. I know that mechanic opinions can differ, but Ill stick with dealer for peace of mind.

Honest, transparent, and genuine. This is what I took away after dealing with Tim at German Auto Group. I had received a quote from a Ferrari service center for over 19K on my Ferrari California but once I brought it to GAG, Tim had the work done in less than 24 hours for a fraction of a price. This is the best place to take your German vehicle. They’re the best in what they do. I recently took my vehicle to them and they were fast and efficient. I’m a dealer and so usually when I take cars to mechanics they don’t treat dealers with The same respect as they do their regular customers. But not them, very professional and courteous. PURE CAR BUYING.

They never say your car needs something that it doesnt really need. Fair prices. Great group of people. I trust them completely.

Sammy and his staff did a great job actually diagnosing the problem with my GL350 Bluetec and replacing the parts that needed to be replaced. They are one of few shops that I was able to find that can work on deisel engines. They had issues getting the parts but unlike the dealership they didnt want to replace the entire fuel system or charge me the $22k that the dealer wanted. I will definately be taking my vehicle to them again. Thanks Sammy

I was really impressed with this place. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. I had an issue with my Mercedes, and Matt helped me tremendously! Although I ended up going to the Mercedes dealership because the issue was a fault with a part of the car that they will be fixing, I would highly recommend this place. If I had to pay for the issue being fixed instead of using the dealership, I would have picked this place. I definitely plan to take my car here in the future because the customer service was excellent and very accommodating.

Mike at the front desk sealed the deal after my first phone call to German Auto Group. Polite, customer sided, honest and direct communication. They diagnosed my issue without an appointment after stalling on 95 and got me on my way after a few hours. I was offered a shuttle service drop off and pickup to the local Starbucks and when I returned to pick up my car, she was all cleaned up and running as I expected. A bit pricey but it is a German Auto place in DC so that’s to be expected. Would come back if I ever had to and definitely recommend to anyone passing by on 95.

First time call Mike talk with him about my 2014 BMW 328 D issue as I was very stress about it and cost BMW told me, Mike and the way he explain how he can help me at good cost fells better and when I toke my car there he did what promise and very honest person got job doneAm very satisfied with German Auto Repair and specially Mike

$7500.00 valve stem & seal job. Craftmsanship was poor and bmw dealership showed me where a number of things were overlooked. Sparkplugs & ignition coils were not changed or even reccomended to be changed. 18 months later ssme problem but worse. Their was a defective valve cover gaskget also.

Very fast service, and price was on par (if not a little cheaper) than what the dealership quoted. However, German Auto Group was able to assess the problem, order the part, and complete the work in just two days.Additionally, they were nice enough to get the car inspected after the work was complete. It was a great experience, and I intend to continue bringing my BMW here. Honest, excellent service.

I was led here by reviews and word of mouth recommendations. As with cars, I always end up paying over priced services through the dealer since you never know who you can trust. I brought two vehicles here both Volkswagen and the team was very knowledgeable, honest and straight to the point! I will be back for sure.

I came to German Auto Group to have my automatic opening/closing trunk lid repaired on my 2005 Audi A8L after going to another shop that will remain nameless and Audi of Alexandria. Audi of Alexandria kept my vehicle for a couple days, replaced the shocks in the trunk saying that this may fix the problem costing me $500 and then tells me it will be an additional $2,000 to completely do the job. I said, no thanks of course now Im out of $500! A co-worker suggested GAG so I gave them a shot. My initial phone call to them was GREAT. Tim was very polite and professional and easy to talk to. I took my car in. Everything went well with my repairs, Tim updated me every day on what parts needed to be ordered and the status of my car. He did everything he could do to satisfy my request and save me money. When I went to go pick up my car a member of the GAG staff picked me up from the subway station, in my freshly washed car and took me to the service center. I was charged $411 to repair my trunk...a HUGE difference from what Mr. Audi wanted to charge me and the other shop I will not mention!! I will be back to GAG to have my car repaired & maintained. I really appreciate Tim and his crew over there and look forward to doing more business with them. I will recommend them to anyone...

Service Manager Tim Took great care of me from the start. He greeted me at the door. He went out to my car and help me with answering questions on maintenance issues I had with my 2006 BMW 325. She was very upfront and honest with what it would cost and that he was confident he could repair the issues.Once the repair started he kept me updated as well as went above and beyond making sure that other nuisance messages were reset prior to me picking up the car. I cant say enough about Tim and the guys at German auto group. They excel with the dealership comes up short. I went from $3500 bill for The dealership to remove and repair the transmission to a $400 repair of that was completed by Tim and his technicians. Transmission works perfect. Youre my go to maintenance shop for all my cars now. Thanks for making me a lifelong customer and saving me a lot of money along the way!

Great service, and at a much better price than the dealer. Every detail was discussed to a degree to ensure I was comfortable, and the total was still less than half of the quoted rate from the dealer. I am very comfortable with the service and will definitely return.

Took my mini Cooper in for a water pump these guys said my head gasket was blown they rushed me to pick it up they totally totally suck I would not recommend them to no one their salvage cars by their repair shop is probably the best up there certifications

Do not go here! Scammers! Said work had to be done and that parts on my car were bad and were willing to charge a bunch of money to replace them and then when I said I would replace them myself they call me back and say the parts were all of a sudden fine and didn’t need to be replaced. You will be overcharged and told you need work done that doesn’t need to be done. Do not go here

Tim and company are the only ones I now trust my cars with. Been going there for over 2 years, and with 4 cars. They always tell me what I should have done, and what I NEED to have done. They have also sent me out a few times telling me nothing was wrong, or doing something minor and not charging me for it. I can trust them, and will be a loyal customer for a long time.

We bring our Audi Q5 to the German Auto Group for scheduled maintenance and once when the car started running rough. We have always received polite professional service and several repairs were the type that they could have gouged us, but repair bill was relatively cheap. Point being, they are trustworthy. I highly recommend the shop.

Hands down the best foreign (European) car repair and maintenance shop around. Sami and his skilled crew of mechanics have always done a superb job on my cars. Plus his repair charges are very reasonable. I recommend this shop to anyone with a European car. No complaints.

WOW!!!! At first I read the reviews and was in disbelief. I honestly went to almost every mechanic except for German Auto Group but will now DROP all my other mechanics and go directly to them. I asked about them and every mechanic talked bad about them. When I talked about other mechanics to German auto group they did not down talk their competition which very much surprised me because how humble they were. Sammy made me feel as if Ive been visiting there for many years even though this was my first initial visit. Sammy was very professional and I feel I found my GOTO Mechanic in Springfield VA. HANDS DOWN!!!!!! They are extremely honest and explain very thoroughly. Sammy is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent service, as I’ve come to expect. Like many, I have a busy schedule, which makes car maintenance difficult. I had an unexpected opening on my calendar, and Tim helped make it happen by getting the materials for my M3 oil change in no time.

Johnny was very knowledgeable about what work needed to be done, was honest, and thoroughly explained the best course of action for getting my 325i running in top condition. Its never cheap to get a BMW repaired, but they do quality work with OEM parts, prices are fair and reasonable and you never feel taken advantage of. My car wasnt quite ready waiting for parts so they put me in a rental at no charge. Ill definitely go back and recommend to others.

I have been bringing my two Land Rovers to GAG since we moved here a few years ago. Tried a few other places first, but they stood out as the best. Sami and Johnny always give me their best advice on must do versus nice to do maintenance items, and it always tracks with what I know about both vehicles over their service life. A good group of folks who are professional and timely.

This place does the best work that Ive seen or experienced. Im not extremely knowledgeable with cars, but know a decent amount and enough to know when someone is a true expert. Dave is the greatest and I have been going to him for a long time with my 08 Lexus rx350. They have always been on time and on budget, and have even picked me up at the nearby metro station to make everything easier. They have some very nice cars there and youd think they would be twice as expensive as they are. Ive seen a Bentley there that had flood damage get taken apart and all wiring out and fixed and put back together and work again. I knew my Lexus wouldnt be a problem.

The experience was fantastic, I loved everything, the service was fenomenal, they run the extra mile for me.I had the timing belt changed and they did a great job, not only they changed that but also fix a coil misfiring for free.Sammy was very helpful and Im not going back to the dealer anymore.

This place is awesome. The prices are competitive with or lower then the dealer and most times services or repairs dont require an appointment unlike the stealership. I have been coming for years. Even though it seems like I always need something else when I come for one thing, theyll explain what you need and show it to you before they begin the work. So it ends up being preventative maintenance. The customer service is great and Sammie is very helpful.

Took my car to the Mercedes Dealership-Alexandria to troubleshoot my ESP light which came on and shifter stuck in park. Dealership diagnosed the problem as a bad ESP module and claimed they reset it. They provided a $1600 quote with discounts applied. I took the car to German Auto Group for a second assessment, and they reprogramed the ESP module for $99 and all has been working great ever since. Its refreshing to come across a place with skilled mechanics obviously with better skills and morals than the dealership.

German Auto Group came highly recommended by the military community specifically as an honest mechanic who provides high quality service at a reasonable price. My first visit was earlier this summer for an annual oil change for my Porsche 911. Great job and considerably less than the dealer.My second visit was a bit more involved and I could not be happier with my choice. Sadly my 911 suffered a catastrophic PDK transmission failure and stranded me on their doorstep. Upon arrival I was met by a service manager, Tim who calmly assessed the situation re configured his service schedule to accommodate my problem and personally gave me a ride home. Tim was there at every step of the way negotiating with the extended warranty company, explaining the situation as the diagnosis changed, expediting parts delivery and ultimately delivering my car earlier than planned. Full service shop with high quality folks who truly take care of the customer and the car. I will return for future service needs and strenuously recommend their services to all the auto owners I know; DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER! German Auto Group is the only choice. I walked in off the street and spoke with Tim. I told him the problem I was having with my wifes BMW 328i. He gave me an estimate that was half of what the dealer wanted. Brought the car in and they started on it before I was out of the parking lot, it was ready before they said it would be (they even washed it) and actually charged me less than the estimate. Extremely happy with the service and I felt very comfortable with them-I didnt get the feeling there were going to be surprise charges or other issues that needed to be fixed. When I found out they also work on British cars, I told them my Range Rover may be next. I will definitely be taking my vehicles back in the future.

German Auto Group serviced my 2005 BMW M3. The service included a valve adjustment and diagnosing and repairing an oil leak that another BMW specialty shop was unable to locate. German Auto Group identified and repaired the oil leak which was not an easy task. They provided pictures of the replaced part and explained its function. The service was professional, capable and courteous. I highly recommend this shop.
