Well, Im a Dad of a college going student at the most popular university in the State of Virginia. I cannot afford a new vehicle so this one (20-years old and 198K miles) has to last. Cardinal Plaza Shell took me seriously and cared for my car as they would for the customer of a more modern day vehicle. Thats quality of service and customercare.

Love this place. They’re always so kind and professional. I trust them completely and never feel like they’re trying to take advantage of me. I used to always take my car to the dealership, so I’m really thankful to have found a good honest repair shop in the area. They do an awesome job. Always.

I’ve brought my car here several times for general maintenance, as well as repairs. They are incredibly professional. Always timely, don’t always try to sell me on extras, friendly and knowledgeable. I haven’t compared their prices to other garages, but the rates seem reasonable to me.

My car was smoking and I couldn’t figure out why. I called and they said bring it in right away. They took me in and put my car in right away to do a full inspection. Fortunately, it was nothing. The smoke was from all the rain. Shew! Their customer service was amazing! Thank you

The people are honest and nice. They charge a fair price. If you have an appointment, they do a good job honoring your appointment time and sometimes when the unexpected happens if you pull up without an appointment, they will try to help you as quickly as they can.

When we called because we needed 2 windshield wipers and they let us come immediately (no appointment necessary). They didn’t have one in stock, but said they could get one that day. Less than an hour later they called to let us know they received the wiper. Went to the station, had two replaced and only had to pay for the parts. So quick and easy!

Cardinal Plaza Shell performed 3 services: Cooling System Flush; Transmission Flush, Cleaning Air/Fuel system. I requested they take another look at my tires after 3rd visits where they failed to stop the Tire Sensor lights from coming on. This time problem was fixed. My 2007 Toyota Pickup is running great.

Wow. That is all I can say. What an incredible experience. I had a flat tire and just need a quick patch. I stopped at another tire shop nearby and they rolled their eyes and talked about how they are overbooked and had no time. I then ran across this shell and walked in and said I need a patch. Trust this business 100%! Though they aren’t cheap, I feel that I’m totally getting what I pay for. I love their service that involves giving a free second opinion on a recommended repair. I always walk away having heard that the recommended repair wasn’t necessary, or not necessary in the urgent timeframe another business has suggested. On this occasion it took about 10 minutes for someone to help me change a headlight. I wasn’t charged for labor, only the light. I had it done on a Friday evening after five, because I realized the light was out before a big trip the following day. Can’t recommend them enough.

Noticed that I picked up a nail in fairly new tires. It was only 1 and I didnt want to get a new tire and I was slightly pressed for time. I drove up and asked of they could do a patch for me. Guy came out to take a look and said sure. Less than $20 and 15 minutes later (without having to unload my family) I am patched up and good to go. Speedy service and VERY affordable.

My grandfather gets his car worked on here and recommended Cardinal for me to get some work done when I got in from out of town. When I got there John was incredibly friendly and pinpointed the problem on one lap around the parking lot. It was after 5 pm so my car didn’t get worked on but was ready to go the following afternoon and completely free of the terrible sound it was making before. John was in contact above and beyond other experiences I’ve had with shops. So glad to know the team at Cardinal is keeping my granddad’s cars going with this level of service. 10/10 would recommend if you live in Northern Virginia.

I have been using Cardinal Plaza Shell for the four years we have lived. I have five vehicles that I have taken them for various reasons. Military FRIENDLY. Better than a National chain right around the corner.

Great. I thought everyone was professional and it felt good to know my high-mileage vehicle was in trusted hands. My 09 camry with over 460k miles did not pass inspection due to an exhaust leak, so I had the resonator pipe and muffler replaced for the exhaust part of the job. Then I also had an ongoing issue with the fuel system - I wasnt able to fill-up gas without the gas pump stopping every couple of seconds. They checked it out and discovered I needed a new charcoal canister. So I went ahead and had that done as well. Although it was a very pricey job, everything was done well and the car drives great. I will definitely bring the car back to this Shell for any big jobs that require the expertise of mechanics who know what theyre doing.

Over time, theyve done pretty much every service to our three cars. Weve been going to them for almost 6 years now, and they are always professional, always pleasant, and always do a super job.

Horrible service at high prices. Had to bring my vehicle back 4 times (so far) for replacement of the front axels. They used faulty, aftermarket parts the first 3 times, hopefully the Honda parts they supposedly used will finally work. They dont top off fluids, told me to go find my car when I asked for its location, misquoted prices several times, and were generally incompetent. Youll be greeted at the door by up to 5 different employees who often contradict each other, and deflect blame onto the person you spoke with on the phone when theyre not at the site when you show up. Its a big show of being helpful and efficient, but its just that: all show and no substance. Unless their work thats under warranty fails a fifth time, Ill never go back. Theyre as expensive as a dealership shop without the quality to back it up. Avoid this place.

Although I did not know my brakes were still under warranty, Cardinal Plaza Shell discovered that fact and did not charge me for the repair. A shop with less integrity might have charged me. CPS has earned my continued business.

It would be really nice if the people scheduling appointments ask if you need emission testing when scheduling an inspection. Not everyone knows there are two different inspections

First class service. I keep my cars for a long time (20 + years) and its important to have a reliable service station. These folks know their stuff. They are always polite, respectful and take good care of my car.

They had replaced my truck battery in spring 2020. The engine would not turn over when I went to turn it on one January 2021 morning. They came out within a short period of time, got it started, and took it back to the station to check over. They could find nothing wrong with my truck and determined the battery must be defective and replaced it, it was under warranty. They brought the truck back home to me. Cardinal Plaza Shell has always been my dependable, trustworthy go to station for my vehicles with a personal, caring touch.

I appreciate the computer analysis of the engine parts, because my work is crazy at times, and I cant remember to get the car parts when I should. Therefore having you to help with a reminder is really helpful!

My check tire light came on so I drove to the station to have them check to see which tire was causing the problem. Within several minutes, a technician was checking the tires. He found a nail in one of them, removed it, and repaired the tire. He made sure the air pressure was good in all tires. The job was done and I was on my way within about 15 minutes. Quick, efficient, professional, personable job well done.

Though I live outside the Springfield area, my son lives within 15 minutes if your station. And because I needed to drive a distance this month (and the check Maint. light came on in my car) I needed to have things checked out by people I could trust. My son uses you to keep his vehicles in excellent shape. And he recommended you highly. I am glad I listened to him. It was worth the trip and I plan to use you from now on.

Paid 300$ for them just for a diagnostic absolute scam. Went to honda dealership and had a more reasonable response

Paid $1200 (which are similar prices to dealership) for new rear braking system less than a year ago less than 7000 miles. A few weeks ago heard caliper rubbing up against the inside of wheel. No screw securing caliper to disc. I guessing it either came lose or one was never placed in. Driving for 35 years never happened not have I ever heard of this happening before. You get a zero on this one Cardinal Shell.

Ive been to Cardinal Plaza Shell a few times over the past few months to service 3 different vehicles, including to get an emissions test. Ive been impressed by the quality of service each time - polite, knowledgeable and trust-worthy mechanics. The first time I went there I thought I needed an expensive fix to my 10 year old Highlander Hybrid with 72K miles - it was fantastic to be told by the mechanic at Cardinal that there was a simple inexpensive fix. Who does that? Well, the guys at Cardinal do. When another car needed repeated visits to get the emissions control module to respond, they asked me to drive until the module reset, which it did by the third try. Overall, very glad to have found great mechanics you can trust to fix any problem without unnecessary expense. Two thumbs up for Cardinal Plaza Shell!

I love this Shell gas station because it stands out from the other gas stations on that corner of Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill. They are festive with their decorations during major holidays (i.e. Christmas, Halloween). They got the old vintage truck and gazebo which can definitely catch your attention. Gas is reasonably priced and its great we can use the gas rewards from Giant to save us some money. My husband also loves that their air tank is free so we only go here when our tires are looking a little flat.

Excellent service beyond words. We have used this shop as our mechanic for 10 years. I had an emergency repair needed the morning I was to drive my vehicle on a 600 mile trip. I called and was seen in 20 minutes. The vehicle was put to the front of the line and repaired as quickly as possible. I was able to start my long drive in the late afternoon. I cannot express enough the gratitude I have for Cardinal getting me up and running so I could get home to see my parents.

I scheduled an oil change and safety inspection for 6 am last Friday. Very impressed with the work done and the social distancing procedures in place to protect both customers and employees. John was great to work with and kept me informed throughout the process. Pick up is hands free - they text you an invoice, you make payment and receive instructions on how to pick up your keys from their ATM. All in all a great experience - I hope to be a returning customer. Thank you Cardinal Shell and well done.

I am a senior nearing the end of my driving days. But I did need to have my car inspected. Upon my request, the station sent someone to my parking place. I had left the keys on the trunk. They drove the car away, inspected it, filled it with gas(again at my request) billed me over the phone, and returned the car. Totally on my timetable and with no contact. It could not have been more convenient!

I went in for a state inspection and they got it completed quickly and throughly. I just wished they had either called/texted me because I had no idea they were done so fast

I brought my car to this service center for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I dont see myself taking it anywhere else in the future. I was worried at first given Ive had terrible experiences with mechanics in the past and I wasnt sure what to expect. It was very easy and fast to schedule an appointment, the front desk is very clean and the staff is really friendly and professional, and the service on my vehicle was done in a reasonable time frame. I could not ask for anything better than this. Highly highly recommend them!

Took my truck in for AC work, Picked up the same day and all is well a mount later at way less than other places wanted for the same work. Easily the nearest/best decorated gas station Ive ever been to. This place is worth a visit just to see what theyve been up to. We used to wash cars here in HS for fundraisers. Ive never been to their service side but I wouldnt be afraid to use them for maintenance and repairs.

I trust Cardinal Plaza Shell to honestly tell me what is wrong with my car and to give me fair options for repair. I also trust them to do my scheduled maintenance, and feel they are fair and honest in recommending maintenance work (and even honestly telling me it can wait until the next scheduled service if the work is getting expensive). Im sure I could find repairs a bit cheaper elsewhere, but I wouldnt trust the quality of the work or the advice I get from that repair shop. I definitely trust Cardinal Plaza Shell!!
