I am so down the middle. Did they lose their ability to have a food stamp debit machine? I just feel bad for the local neighborhoods occupants, seeing as they are near low income housing . I think its hard for people who have limited income to make their way down to second when theres a store right next door when they run out of something that will make a break dinner. I mean thanks for having a great selection of small grocery store items. But why offer groceries in a low income neighborhood without giving your customers the ability to pay with food stamps.I saw a comment about them buying foodies? Is this why they dont have a food stamp debit machine.

There was a HUGE, unexpected, and fast snow dump on Spokane the other night.I came into this gas station and market on a very hard Christmas Day.I was instantly greeted with cheer, smiles, warmth, and excellent quality of service. It really meant a lot to me that a man who works there graciously offered to carry a large rack of waters to my truck for me.He didnt know it but for personal reasons Christmas was hard for me and my sons this year. Very hard.THANK YOU FOR BEING AWESOME!KINDESS MATTERS! Plus, your store and gas station is so clean, orderly, and you provide excellent prices and selection.I will definitely keep supporting your business and family.Much respect and appreciation!Erin :-)

It’s a gas station. They have huge packs of gushers in exciting flavors. I work nearby. We miss you Laurence, please contact me soon. We are all getting worried.

They dont enforce mask policy but tote that they have sign on door and when I asked why they dont sanitize their hands between checking customers out, they waved me off. They boast how they have enough money to pay off the health department if they come enforcing fines. Hardly anyone wears masks in this place. Dont come here. The Conoco on 2nd takes food stamps anyway. This place doesnt.

Bought a pair of Oakleys. Looked them up when I got home, counterfeit.Cashier was talking to someone on her headphones while I was trying to pay. I went through 3 different cards, all of which work and have money on them, all of which were declined. I called my card company, and there was no problem with the cards. This place always has a scam, it used to be food stamls for cash, I guess they have moved on to other things. Watch your wallet, and keep an eye on your card.

The perfect one stop shop. Fill up the gas tank and grab all your snacks and drinks here at Hico,a perfect little quick stop shop. I ADORE all the workers here, they always greet me with a smile, and go above and beyond to make sure all the customers feel valued and leave smiling. They take the time to attempt to make sure you feel important and remembered. That makes me feel very valued. I have observed on several occasions all the employees interact with kids that come in, and you always know the interest and questions they ask are not just forced simple chit chat, very genuine and wonderful souls working here. And I promise they will have at least a few of your favorite chill time needs for snacks and drinks, and all your road trip necessaries.

Great beer / drink selection, Infinitely better than the near ish 7 11. As you might expect from the Perry district, good selection of imperial IPAs in 6packs and tall boys, plus lite beers, PBR, both hi and low end wine, and better options for izzes, hard ciders, etc than most kwikimarts. I try not to look at the snacks because they have all my favorite toxic spicy 🔥 lime chips plus the usual basics. Plus they have a bit of fresh fruit, some basic medicines, baby stuff, probably chicken noodle soup etc that you might need at midnight when everyone in your house has the flu at the same time. As other reviewers have said, sure, staff is sometimes on the phone to a friend, but if you worked in a convenience store and had to deal with the people yelling into their own phones while counting out $18.93 in pennies and nickles for their lotto card, gas and cigs... Wouldnt you? I love these guys (and gals). They put up with all us lower and mid south hill folks.

Just moved to Spokane and so far, this place is clean with friendly staff. I took 2 ⭐s away because I think they are expensive. For them being a neighborhood store, I thought they would have friendly neighborhood prices. I shop mainly local business but I am forced to go elsewhere. 🐒

I have shopped at the store since 2004, it has changed ownership several times during that duration under current ownership this place has changed drastically for the better alot less ghetto great staff that work here, and the only store in the Perry District that caters to the low-income apartments in the neighborhood, they accept EBT food stamps and also have the only gas station in the neighborhood,

I been in there a few times to buy some items. Even when something is priced one way on a shelf or display, they charge you whatever they feel. When brought to their attention about the pricing mix match they play the bad English double talk game. Ill Never go back.

Hico has a lot of potential. It s recent remodel looks great. But the merchandise is outrageously outdated and overpriced. I bought a soda that had expired 2 years ago. A box of froot loops was 8 dollars. Hico is well positioned to serve a low income area and could make us all winners.
