Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful. We were looking for musical raffle gifts and no less than 4 people offered to help! They were very busy with kids getting their school instruments but we were still helped. Amazing service!
What a beautiful store with knowledgeable staff that care! Please work on getting some classical heroes on that wall. Mozart, Strauss, Vivaldi, Wagner, you choose. Your cheating young people that should know about these musical genius’s. ❤️🎼
I got a cello today, the guy that helped me was super friendly and easy to work with. I definitely recommend this place.
Ian and Earl helped me and my girls in the purchase of a trumpet, clarinet, and trombone. We got them all on consignment, so it wasnt too expensive for us. They spent A LOT of time with us - helping us to pick out instruments, helping my oldest daughter to get familiar with the trombone (since she hasnt played it before), helping us to get set up to start playing and taking care of the instruments, and so much more. We felt very comfortable interacting with Ian and Earl because they were friendly and they were good teachers. They wanted us to have the best experience possible with the instruments that we bought, and they let us know that we could come back any time that we need help. We are delighted with our purchases and are already having fun. Thank you, Hoffman Music!!!
Friendly, knowledgeable, sales people, have allowed me to put multiple items on consignment, excellent service after the sale,a superior store to that nationwide-chain!I highly recommend!
Sky and Mat always do their utmost to take care of their customers. Trust them over all other music stores
Knowledgeable people, and know thier stuff!
I bought a Taylor guitar for my 14 year old grandson. My husband has played in bands his whole life and is now 75 years old and has done business with Hoffman most of that time. I was so disappointed when picking up the guitar (we were told that a salesman would help him with learning to keep it clean and maintenance. A sales person named Matt made us wait while he restrung a guitar, talked with a customer on the phone, cleaned up his desk etc. There was a salesman standing behind him the whole time and another sales person bragging about a pizza in the back. After spending this much money, I have never been so rudely treated. Skylar sold us the guitar a couple of months ago, but I could never hook up with him again.
Staff here are great. Friendly without being overbearing; knowledgeable without being condescending; and happy to find the RIGHT item, not simply make a sale.
I recently purchased a Fender Stratocaster & Fender Bassbreaker amp from Hoffman Music and the service was excellent. From the minute I walked in the staff were helpful and happily answered all my questions. In particular, Sky helped me find the best guitar/amp combo for my budget. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to show me all the options in my price range. He even gave me a great deal on both the guitar and the amp. He also gave me a great deal on a reverb pedal and accessories. You can’t get that kind of service at the big, chain stores.Anytime I have questions or need my guitar serviced I can just walk into Hoffman Music and I know they’ll take care of me.
If you want musical instruments and accessories this is a place you have to experience. Friendly and knowledgeable staff await you here. It truly is an experience to be had. They will go several extra miles just to accommodate you and get anything you need.
Every time I go here the customer service is stellar! They are always super knowledgeable, and patient with me while they explain to me about different things that I don’t know. They stand behind their products too! They are also great with kids!
They lay out was very nice. The stuff was helpful and Friendly. I would go there again
Went in looking for a mouth piece for my grandson for xmas. Great guys, loaned him a 10k horn to try the new mouth piece out. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Great, exciting, experience. Cant wait to come back!!
Followers. Didnt have what I was looking for and the sales person had no idea about anything. He also acted like I was a burden. I went in there to spend a few hundred dollars and walked out with an overpriced guitar strap and some strings.
Awesome shop. Love em.
Came in looking to buy my first violin, told the guys I had a budget of about 300-400 and they explained the rent to own and lease options allowing me to get a better instrument that will last me longer with easier payment options. The guy helping me noticed the Violin had a small bridge issue and resolved that before letting it go out the door. I am very pleased with my visit and will be back. If you need a good deal on an instrument there rent to own is a simple process and all costs go toward the purchase of the instrument! Thanks guys!
Amazing staff, selection, and prices. We found some vintage great we could never find any where else.
Its been a long time since I shopped here. Not only was the item I wanted on sale, they held it until I got there. Plus, they also gave me an extra discount for being a veteran.I always try and shop local businesses, and this is just one reason why. Thanks guys!
As an absolute beginner, they gave me the parts and knowledge I needed. I cant recommend them enough!
Thank you for providing a fair and easy appraisal for my accordion this morning. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with.
Great employees good selection
The more and more I interact with the folks at Hoffman, the more I like their business. I recently had a relatively simple question and gave them a call. They let me talk directly to one of their technicians and he spent more time than he probably should have and explained several things that I would not have thought about.
Great local spot with a terrific inventory of instruments, equipment, and accessories.
They genuinely like helping people with their musical needs.
Never again. I bought my wife a used beginner sax and we took it in to have it checked out. The employee we spoke with was rude and told us repeatedly how the instrument was absolute trash, then proceeded to offer to either charge $300 to adjust it or sell us a $2,000 instrument. The other local music shop is doing the repairs for $80, and nicely confirmed its a low quality instrument, but perfectly fine to get started.
Very friendly & knowlegeble staff and great service.
Low on music book choices but friendly as always.
The proprietor gave very attentive help and was full of good information on Roland keyboards.
I bought my first instrument from Earl over 32 years ago. Ive been a happy and loyal customer ever since. Matt and the crew on the floor always take great care of me and I highly recommend Hoffmans.
Professional and courteous, wide selection and helpful staff
Very helpful. They looked at my guitar 🎸 without cost.
Very good customer service
Great store, great collection of knowledge and they sold me a great Gretsch guitar in stunning silver sparkle for a better price than Any other .If you have not been to hoffmans its about time you see what youve been missing in music instruments here in spokane.
I dropped of a musical instrument to sell on consignment. The representative at Hoffman Music recommended rebuilding it first to get maximum resale value. I agreed. The agreed upon contract was that Hoffman Music would rebuild the instrument, sell it on consignment, take the cost of the rebuild and their commission from the purchase price, and send me a check for the remaining funds. This was a single transaction where there was no implied nor expected possibility that there could be a debt owed by me at the close of the transaction.A few months after dropping off the instrument I received a check from Hoffman Music. I deposited it in good faith that they had done their accounting as they said they would. Eight or nine months later I received a bill for the sum of $1391.36 to cover the cost of the rebuild of the instrument with no other explanation. I called and talked the the representative that wrote up the consignment agreement and he said that the accounting department had neglected to take out the cost of rebuilding the instrument out the the proceeds of the instrument sale. I protested the excessively long time it took for them to discover their error and my responsibility for covering the cost of their error. He said the manager would call me back the next day. I never heard from him. I did however get a bill a week later. I wrote a letter contesting the bill and asking for documentation demonstrating my financial liability for their accounting error. About a week laterI received another bill showing that I am 30 days overdue in paying the bill with interest on the balance is accruing monthly.Hoffman has been selling instruments on consignment for many years. When I cashed the check I had faith that with their experience and expertise that they would carry out due diligence in looking after their own economic interests in the accounting of the transaction and issuing of the check. Once they issued the check they determined the amount of my portion of the transaction setting the final closing amount. It is unfortunate if the amount was incorrect. This was not my responsibility. Once that check is cashed in good faith the transaction is closed. Had Hoffman discovered the error in a timely manner, put a stop payment on the check, sent me a letter explaining the circumstances, and reissued me a check minus the repair fee, I would have had no issue. Nine months later is not a reasonable time frame to request a redress of their error. Their accounting error should not place me in debt nor negatively impact my excellent credit rating which they are threatening to do.
Very nice people to deal with! They will consign your used guitars. They do repairs and adjustments at the lowest prices in Spokane! Music books, brass and woodwind instruments, guitars, bass, drums, guitar lessons.
Not the place to go if you are just wanting to rent a student instrument. Difficult rent to own policy, do not have a simple month to month instrument rental plan that every other music store I have dealt with has. If you are looking for a student instrument rental, find one of the smaller stores, the staff is friendlier and the policies simpler. After too much time and frustration trying to rent a home cello for my son, I found Amends music, and with that exactly what I was looking for. Within ten minutes of arriving I was out the door with cello in hand, simple rental policy with a portion still applied to an instrument purchase should one choose to do so. I would never recommend Hoffmans to anyone seeking a simple school instrument rental, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.
Excellent service, and detailed information about the Spokane, WA instrumental music scene. They were very encouraging to me about playing my trumpet in local groups. They also have a variety of practice rooms, professional instrumental tutoring and lessons.
Very helpful employees, and a great selection of instruments.
Awesome customer service. Everyone is super nice, very knowledgeable, and they helped with everything I needed. They have good selections for guitars, basses, drums, and other music gear. Definitely reccomend other any music place in Spokane!
Good place for beginning and intermediate musicians. There are some things I live about this store such as helpful salespeople. No interest purchase options. Other things I dislike. Poor planning music selection. No real pianos in the teaching rooms. Cheap String instruments. Im glad the store helps many kids exploit various instruments. I try to find things to buy here versus order on line to support a local store like this.
This fabulous company just had a collections guy call me about my sons trumpet. I didnt get to the phone, but the caller left a message wherein he threatened to have me arrested and send a guy to my house if I didnt return the trumpet immediately. My son decided not to continue with band - and I hadnt taken the trumpet back yet. I called the number back letting the collections guy know that it is illegal to make such threats - and he hung up on me. Cant wait for my attorney to hear the message. I think I am going to sue.
The staff are always helpful and friendly.
Good instruments and good staff! I love you guys! And i boght a violin from there and its so clean!😄 and its such clean music store.
Always helpful, good selection of electronics and instruments. I bought a tenor sax from their consignment department and theyve rebuilt my flute. Theyve bought instruments from me outright that I no longer use.
6 years ago we rented our sons saxaphone through Hoffman. The instrument had continual problems and was in the shop waiting for a part at the end of the school year when it was time to hand it in. We wound up being late with the turn in because of this. The music store in our town explained this to the company. They still sent us to collections over $60 and I just received another notice even though it has been repeatedly explained. We did not rent our daughters instrument through them because of this and we will not rent our next in lines from them either.TERRIBLE COMPANY!
A great local source of instruments and sheet music. The staff is always very helpful, and offer good insights.
Lance, Yes they should have taken the amount before sending you the check, however, we ALL make mistakes. I would suggest you offer to make them reasonable payments for your fully justified bill.
After buying parts for instruments to repaire both brass and wood winds off and on for the past 15 years i can say after today I will never use them again. Guess my part supplier will now bw my only supplier. Went in there to by some valve oil and 2 sets of pads for a trumpet and was helped by Caleb Brown who was by far the worst employee ive ever delt with after repairing and tuning instruments for 15 years and buying parts for quick jobs there when my supplier is a week or more out on shipping. When dealing with him I told him that I needed 2 sets of spit valve pads and he presented valve gaskets to me insisting there what I need and flat out arguing with me when i told him that isnt a pad for a spit valve. After this he tells me since im not sure what i need that I need to bring it in for them to fix.... Mind you i keep telling him what i need. Then at this point i spot the owner and ask Caleb is that the owner over there he replies yes. So i walk over to him and he caleb almost at a run trying to get ahead of me as i head over to talk to the owner. At this point i told the owner what i needed and at this point calbe went to talk over me and was shushed by the owner who got me exactly what i needed. The at checkout Caleb proceeded to add extra things onto the charge. When i notice and requested it to be fixed he argued about it and said that its what i wanted and the owner again had to step in and fix it. After this was all do i can truly say i will never go back there again.
Great Store. I just wish they worked a little longer. Like until 8 or 9 PM.
I went there and they let me test out instruments and mouthpieces because I play Alto sxophone the guy was super nice too I would definitely go there again
I came here to try out some trombones and they let me rummage through all the stock, even the consignment bonesHad a great time. Thanks.
My mom and I went here to get some music for my cousin. The staff were friendly and helpful.
They are the best
Very friendly and accommodating staff! Also, really great prices!
Great variety of instruments and knowledgeable staff.
I recently bought an upright bass (violin) with the thought of converting it to a left-handed instrument and was referred to Hoffmans by a local luthier.Brought the bass to the stringed instrument dept. of Hoffmans to get a quote on the right-to-left conversions. Two Hoffman guys there hear me say this and guy #1 tells me they dont do L-R conversions on double basses. I asked why and he said the ebony fingerboards are asymmetrical. I pulled out the bass and showed Hoffman guy #1 that I didnt have the kind of asymmetrical fingerboard that he was visualizing in his head. Then then he proceeded to explain that another reason they didnt do conversions is because if youre in an orchestra playing double bass you would get into a sword fight with the other double bass players if you were bowing in the opposite direction. I explained that I was not in any kind of orchestra and that would never be a problem for me.Guy #2 who has been observing the conversation alluded to the fact that they had did a double bass conversion in the past and the experience was weird, and in the end words eluded him and he did this little swish of the hip and wave of the hands that was somehow supposed to be a legitimate explanation to me of how weird it was. Guy #2 also did a good job of pretending to look for a brochure on left-handed bridges and nuts, etc. while I slowly realized they were never going to tell me the real reason. As I picked up my bass and left guy #1 being ever so helpful hands me the business card of a violin luthier on Garland ave. in Spokane that he KNOWS will not do ANY such conversion for me or any other left hander.I went on line for answers and soon learned that there is quite a prejudice against the notion of left-handed string players in the classical world and that left-handed playing of strings in an orchestra is not allowed. Unfortunately that prejudice extends to the luthiers, the stores and the people working at those stores. With more in-depth research online I have discovered that in my case it would cost more than the instrument itself is worth to convert from right to left because the top would have to be taken off to move the bass bar. Were talking like at least $1500 to do the conversion on a bass worth $2500 - yes a wasteful proposition. I wondered why the guys at Hoffmans didnt tell me any of this? Its just another part of the snobbery - youre never told why - youre just led to believe - by a bunch of snobs - that it cant be done when in fact its their prejudice keeps them from doing it.Hoffmans I know you cant declare your snobbery and prejudices in regards to left handed string players - I am much obliged to do so for the sake of all of us lefty string players who want to see that hip shake and hand wave!!!. Ill never view the world of classical music the same again.
Staff are friendly and they fixed my A string in a pinch (I had a concert the next day).
Best selection in town
On 03.09.2019 I was at Hoffman music to buy an instrument ... very friendly staff! Very clear and wide assortment! Great shop! I can only recommend!
