Todd, the owner, came by to evaluate my current system which was not working properly. Not his brand of equipment but looked at it and diagnosed the problem in about 5 minutes. The original installer never identified the problem after multiple attempts. I had actually called Modern Media to consider changing systems since I had so many problems. I am going to build a house so he suggested just waiting until that project was done. He could have sold me another system but did the right thing for his potential new customer. I am impressed and will definitely use them to design/install the system when building my new home!!!

Modern Media (Todd and Michael) installed a new sound system in the family room plus four outdoor speakers controlled through the new system. Also, set up my old system in my media room implementing new Airplay technology.I was very pleased with the overall install. Both new systems sound fantastic! Modern Media used some of my older components where we could in order to keep cost down. They charged me for purchased hardware at or below what I could purchase on line. Labor costs were reasonable - especially for how efficiently Todd and Michael worked. Where there were obstacles, they came up with creative and efficient solutions. Both systems sound amazing. I couldnt be happier with the work they did. Todd was very patient and available to answer questions and explain how the new technology worked. His training was thorough and even came out for a separate 1:1 session after the install to make sure he could thoroughly answer my questions.

For me, I had Modern Media purchase and install TV’s on brick fireplaces, improve my home wi-fi systems, add camera systems surrounding my home, install smart light systems throughout the lower level (which are way cooler than I can describe) and added a smart / camera doorbell and smart lock on my front door. Modern Media wired an existing room in our house as a media room/theatre. They hung the screen and projector from a previous home and installed our components and the speakers we purchased from them. They also installed a remote controlled light in the room, and hooked up all of the electronics we had connected to the system. We just completed an extensive whole-home renovation . Todd and the Modern Media team designed and installed a dedicated home theater, installed all our structured wiring, set up our wifi, and mounted our other TVs on the wall. We had a great experience working with Todd. We have always built our homes in prior relocations and created our home audio and video to our specific needs. This time we bought an existing home with existing infrastructure. Working on a phased program, Todd has done a superb job at integrating our existing equipment with new equipment in building out whole house music and a surround system in our family room. We have been thoroughly pleased - Todd made great recommendations for in-ceiling speakers ensuring the speakers actually met the needs of the room. For our surround, he even made recommendations for furniture. When an existing television didnt work in our master bathroom, Todd went out that day to find a new one that would meet our needs. We are waiting on our pool to be built to have Todd return to finish outdoor sound and next on the list is our media room.I would highly recommend Todd for any home audio/video project.

Todd is very courteous, professional, and extremely reliable. His pricing is extremely competitive and the service is impeccable. He made modifications to the builder provided conventional 7.1 speaker positions and placed 2+ center speaker behind the screen, 2 on the side and 2 in the ceiling, which really made the true 7.1 Dolby Atmos sound effect. He also installed the acoustic screen to get the full effect of front speakers from behind the screen.

My journey of designing and planning for a home theater began by reading all that I could find regarding home theaters. Of course I spent a great amount of time pondering the design, the type of components, budget, etc. The many questions only added to my research. Fortunately, I had six months to plan while my new home was built. Once I was comfortable with having a decent idea on what I wanted, I began interviewing installers. Upon examination, Todd accurately assessed that the wiring installed by my builder did not meet the specifications for the Goldenear speakers that I had chosen. On a Sunday afternoon, Todd rewired the room and made sure that the speaker outlets were in the proper locations. No other installer identified and/or discussed how builders rarely use suitable speaker wire and how it is best to locate the speakers in the proper locations before the drywall was installed.Todd’s exceptional service does not stop with him applying his excellent knowledge to your project. For example, I required the absolute latest Sony projector for my home theater. Unfortunately, Sony experienced supply issues due to the popularity of the new model. Todd recognized and appreciated my desire for this particular projector, so he volunteered for me to use a projector he had until the new Sony projector came in. Todd immediately installed the demo projector so that my family can enjoy the home theater. Due to Sony’s significant challenges to supply the new projectors to the market, this wait lasted three months. At no time did Todd indicate three months was too long for me to use his demo projector. I challenge anyone to find an installer that provides this level of support.I encourage everyone that is contemplating a home theater or any form of media for their home, contact Modern Media. I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.

Todd and Mike of Modern Media did a fantastic job on our media room. From coming out to assess our room to discussing what we wanted and fitting something that was in our price range to the actual install...we could not be happier.They installed our entire media room installed within a single day! That was no small feat considering the amount of dry wall and electrical work needed on top of the actual equipment placement, installation, programming, and cleanup.I was struck by the professionalism of this company and the many different skills needed for this line of work including electrical, drywall, paint texturing, painting, as well as all the technical knowledge of optimal positioning of speakers, the screen, the projector, the chairs, etc.Todd was very timely in answering all questions and his pricing was very good. I am blown away by the amazing attention to detail and customer service by Todd and his team at Modern Media! He installed a new projector and 120 inch screen for me and patiently answered all of my crazy questions and extreme pickiness! As a photographer, I tend to be super detailed when it comes to color, contrast, etc... So, when it came to making my projector choice, Todd came over to my home and brought 2 projectors with him so I could decide for myself. I am rating this company one star only because they arrived promptly at our home for an estimate and the owner was pleasant. I am disappointed with Modern Media. We called them for an estimate to put in music speakers for our patio and game room. Also to complete a media system we partially installed. The company came out and gave us an estimate, suggesting various ideas, many of which we thought would be great additions. The owner stayed for over an hour writing down what would be needed to complete our home. He then told us that he would get back with us on the estimate if not by the end of the week most certainly by the following Monday. Well.... the end of the week passed, as well as the following Monday and there was no communication from the company. A week after the proposed Monday, my husband called the company and he received a text that they really did not want to work with a system that was already partially installed. Ok that is fair- but then why fail to contact us and tell us? Why didnt he tell us the day he looked at our home -rather than have us waiting indefinitely? Was he ever going to tell us, as we patiently waited? This is no way to run a business. If you really care about developing your business it would be beneficial to treat prospective or non prospective customers with courtesy. How disrespectful to not even let us know their non intentions. I will not recommend this company to anyone. Had they told us on the spot or even called and respectfully declined the business, I would have been more than happy to recommend them to other friends who are presently building in the area to consider this company. BUT NOT NOW!!!!!! No, now I will warn friends of our experience.

We were challenged with building a room that both my wife and I could spend time together while watching different programs. Todd did a fantastic job working with our builder to prepare the project. He kept his word!The result is a room that is perfect. My wife can watch her shows on the bottom big screen, I can watch my sports on the top big screen and we can listen to one or the other TVs. We moved into a new house and wanted to upgrade the existing home theater system that came with the house. We also wanted to integrate the TV, DISH receiver and the DVD player in the family room. We had 2 TV to be mounted 1st was above a fireplace and the 2nd was to be mounted on the wall.Todd came out the next day after I contacted him and gave an estimate. I decided to install a sound bar system for the TV above the fireplace and when I called Todd he said there was not an additional charge for the Sound Bar even offered to buy the Sound Bar with free shipping but I chose to buy it local.Mike was the installer, came out on time and did an excellent job with the installation even had to cut some drywall and he patched the spot like nothing was done. Modern Media gets my highest recommendation 1st place I would call to have a TV mounted.Modern Media would be the 1st place I would go to have Home Theater and any type of wiring computer network.

I recently decided to go with Modern Media to upgrade my 10 year old 5.1 home theater system to a fully 4K Dolby Atmos compatible setup. Todd and his team were extremely knowledgeable about the latest technology and made recommendations that I thought made a lot of sense for my specific home setup without up selling me on a lot of components I did not need. I found his price quote to be fair for both the equipment as well as the labor involved. He was also spot on in his estimate on how long it would take his team to finish my installation. Once the installation was complete, Todd followed up to give me detailed instructions on how to use the system, as well as fine tune the sound for my subwoofer. His attention to detail is impeccable and he truly does everything he can to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. Modern Media by Todd Forgan is excellent company. He spent time with me not rushing to do things. He is very responsive when needed even after installation is done he would get back to you. NOT like those big companies who doesnt have time for their customer once job is done. He has reasonable charges as well. I will recomend Modern Media to anyone.

I made several phone calls before I found Todd. He should have been my only phone call. Hes the perfect fit for most shoppers. He does NOT require you to buy equipment through him but you can if youd like. I decided I needed a larger tv but needed to do the entire job as inexpensively as possible. He even offered me his membership to Costco so I could buy it myself. This was not a small financial committment (at least to me) so there was a lot of anxiety involved. Todd immediately made me feel better as soon as we started talking. A month after the fact, I couldnt be happier. Give Modern Media a call. You wont be sorry.

Todd is the absolute professional and fits your wants with your budget. On top of that, he gives you suggestions as if it were his own media room after you have decided on the equipment you want. We initially utilized his company for a tv mount over the fireplace concealing all of the wires. Then he came over to give a consult on our media room to install a projector, screen, and sound system. Absolutely PERFECT in every way. From the quality of workmanship of his team Mike and Nick perform, to how they clean up and educate you on the equipment. Todd makes sure that every project is done to his standards which once you meet him, you will know are quite high. I cant recommend him and his team enough.

Todd Forgan and his Modern Media technicians installed a home theater system in our home including a Yamaha receiver, 5.1 speaker system, and a programmed Harmony 650 remote control.From start to finish, Modern Media was a professional, experienced, and extremely knowledgeable company to work with. Todd guided us through the selection of equipment, even giving suggestions on an entertainment console to house the equipment in. They showed up on time, installed the system, including four in-wall speakers flawlessly with no mess, and instructed us on the use of the new system. My previous “system” included a JVC receiver I purchased in 1985 and two speakers a friend had made for my wife when she was in junior high! So, needless to say, we are neophytes when it comes to home theater systems. Todd will guide you all the way and is very prompt in responding to your questions, whether by email or phone. The experience was enjoyable and worth every penny.

This review is long overdue but I cant say enough good things about Todd, Nick and the team at Modern Media. Talk about incredibly knowledgeable pros! Had recently moved into a house in the Keller area after relocating from PA and needed someone to put up my TV in the media room of the new house. Not only that, all of the wiring and peripherals - both video and audio - would need to be managed out of a makeshift closet in that room. This is where Todd and his team showed off their skills and talent. They were able to mount my TV, tap into the existing rear speakers, use my 3 other speakers (left, right, and center), leverage the existing speaker wiring, and get my subwoofer hooked up. They were also able to set up my PS4, run an IR repeater over cat-5 to connect a Logitech Harmony remote which controls EVERYTHING - my TV, A/V Receiver, and PS4. And the way they set everything up in the media closet was immaculate - incredible wire management and just a real clean install.And did I mention that they were able to light up the pre-wired ethernet in my house by redoing the access panel where all the cabling came into the house so that my PS4 and A/V Receiver could be hardwired?Oh, and did I also mention that they then beautifully mounted another TV in my master bedroom with a Roku Ultra, and hardwire ANOTHER Roku I had on my living room TV?There is no one better, period, bar none, full stop. You get what you pay for and Todd isnt the cheapest, but Modern Media is worth every penny!

After several years of looking at home theaters, my wife and I decided that 2013 was the year we would install one in our home. I shopped at several big name theater stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex as well as on line for equipment pricing and features. After visiting many places, I was ready to purchase the equipment online and needed an installer. We scheduled an appointment for the next day, and he showed up exactly on time. Even though I was planning to provide the equipment, he spent almost two hours discussing the project, showing me actual screens, and talking about the ins and outs of a home theater. I was so impressed with him that I opted to contract with him for the purchase of the equipment as well as the installation. His pricing was extremely competitive and his service was impeccable.From the initial visit to review my theater room and talk about ideas through the final presentation of the completed project, Todd was incredible. Todd and his team (Mike and Spencer) did an incredible job on my new home theater and living room. The customer service was outstanding and the finished product is spectacular. My family and I will definitely enjoy both rooms for years to come...not to mention our friends too. Everyone is blown away by the quality of sound from my Polk Audio speakers driven by a Yamaha receiver and the clarity of our Epson 3020 Powerlite Projector (all recommended by Todd to maximize my bang for the buck). If you want to complete a project like this DIY style, you will waste countless hours and spend extra money attempting to achieve the same results. Very professional and extremely hight quality work. We bought a home in Southlake that was built in the 1990s, and Todd and Mike brought the house up to 2014 technology standards. No barrier of my pre-existing home stood in their way to wire our multi-zone home audio system, patio, and theater. They continued to think outside of the box to find solutions to any obstacles. They were extremely responsive and very thorough. Todd went above and beyond on explaining every step of the process and answered every question. Chose this company after reading the reviews from past customers. I was not disappointed. From the beginning of our first telephone contact, Todd Forgan, the owner, treated my project like it was just as important as the much more expensive projects he had done. After discussing the job over the phone, I decided to use his services and was scheduled within the week. Todd and his colleague Mike, arrived promptly and began work by taking a quick survey of the job to be done. Throughout, Mike walked me through the process of the new installation from relocating the electrical and cable outlets. I wanted to make sure the new installatoin was clean and that all the wires and connections were neatly hidden within the walls. The only hiccup came when they removed the 55 inch from its original location to replace it with the new 60 inch TV. After the new TV was mounted and they powered it on to go through the set-up, they discovered it was defective. I immediately contacted the dealer and made plans to have a new set delivered. In the meantime, while I was working the details with the dealer, Todd and Mike went to work installing the 55 inch. By the time I was done talking to the dealer, they were about finished with the installation and were ready for me to come and check placement of the TV set.In spite of the disappointment of having received a defective product, I was extremely pleased wit the work they were able to do and the care they took with my home. Todd, without hesitation offered to return at no charge when the new TV arrived so they could again through the process of mounting it for me. True to his word, he and Mike came out the same day the new set arrived, after they had finished a job they started earlier that day. If that wasnt enough, Todd noticed that my wife and I had been listening to the radio through our built-in sound system and asked where it was connected. He explained that he thought only one channel was operating from the pair of speakers in the living room ceiling. His curiosity got the best of him and he proceeded to troubleshoot the speaker connections. In the end, he had spent an additional 15 to 20 minutes checking and correcting some loose connections in a the closet where the speaker connections were made. We had never noticed that the speakers were not operating properly. He went the extra mile for something he had no obligation to do. You can bet he will be getting my business whenever I need any additional work done.

Todd came to my home and listened to what it was that I wanted for my new home entertainment-wise. He then told me about their company and his desire to make me a satisfied customer. They installed a new 70 television for me including surround in my family room, a 110 screen and projector with surround in my theater room, and three more televisions in various rooms including one outside in the brick wall of our covered patio area. Luckily, my home was hardwired for networking prior to our moving in, but Todd and Mike patiently perfected all connections, set-ups, and mountings in the five areas we had them work. On a side note, we didnt have our entertainment center delivered when they began working on our family room and Mike graciously offered their van and to drive to the furniture store to pick it up with me. If you are in the DFW area and need specific or basic entertainment installation these are the guys to call. They spend the time necessary to make demanding jerks like myself extremely happy. This should be your first and will be your last call.

Okay, I seriously considered crawling under our 75 year old house to wire my vintage JBL speakers myself.I couldnt be prouder, nor more protective of these babies because James B. Lansing was my Grandfather. Ultimately, the respect for quality sound gene I inherited beat out the dont pay someone to do something you can do yourself gene I also carry, and I called in the uber professional, uber kind, uber knowledgeable Todd from Modern Media. Yeah, I ubered three times, but thats also also courtesy of my German grandpops genes, cause Todd earned them.In retrospect, I could never have done what Todd and his technician did. On his first visit (the day after I contacted him!), I told Todd what Id dreamed up, in terms of design and placement. He was able to troubleshoot my dreams, execute my ideas, work in my budget, do the job on my schedule, and get amazing, flawless results.And here I am, a week later, listening to Steely Dan, Dave Brubeck, Hank Williams, Frank Sinatra, etc.., playing on a phonograph in another room, not a wire or component in sight. Just those beautiful JBL cabinets to look at and listen to.
