I bought a keyless lock from the website, but unfortunately it wasn’t working for my store so I had to return it . I sent it back after right away communication and approval. It has been weeks since and I still have not gotten my money returned! I reached out to them with three emails with no luck. Had to find time I’m my schedule and call on the phone, found someone who promised me to start the process of my return. Days later still nothing. I find them absolutely unprofessional and unreliable. This is the reason why most people are going to Amazon for purchases despite our desire to support small businesses!

Absolutely terrible customer service! Buyer beware! Purchase somewhere more reliable. I purchased a handle set back in November 2020 securing payment with credit card. I still have not received my purchase and they informed me today it would be 8-10 additional weeks for delivery. That would mean 4 months since my purchase date! I emailed them 3 times [which they received) but they failed to respond. I cancelled my order and will give my business elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and buy from a more reputable business.

I am shocked that they are still in business if they treat their potential customers they way they treated me. I feel like writing this review is pretty useless because this company already has a plethora of negative reviews but here it goes:If you are planning to order something from them, DONT. I recently began the process of renovating a set of properties for my customer so I needed all new door hardware. I ordered my first door lock from them a couple months ago and it took nearly a month to arrive. When the door lock finally did arrive, it had the wrong size latch which was my fault for ordering the incorrect one.When I called their joke of a customer service line, I was greeted with a hostile man who demanded a order number or phone number right off the bat before I could give him much information. We had already requested a replacement latch, so I was just needing the tracking number so we would have a schedule of when it would arrive. The customer service rep refused to give me the tracking number because the order was not in my name even though they willingly gave me the tracking number to the original door lock which also wasnt ordered in my name. He claimed it was their policy not to even give me an estimate on when the latch would arrive. To me, it just seemed like he wanted to get off the phone and didnt care about assisting me.Before you write a rebuttal making me look like the bad guy, save it. I have already decided I will NEVER order from your company again.

I called to verify stock before placing an order on a Monday and immediately placed the order. 3 days later I called for tracking information and was advised it was not going to ship for 2 weeks. I advised that I was told that I needed the parts immediately and was promised they would ship from stock. After waiting a moment I was told the parts would ship Thursday or Friday from another location - Chicago. The following Thursday morning I receive an email notice from AMEX that my account has been credited for the order. I never received any communication from Cape Cod Brass. I ordered the parts from Build.com that morning and it was shipped that day.

Extremely professional and friendly customer service. Yes, of course, there have been delays with shipments due to covid, but CC Brass has always kept me informed. When one of their suppliers dropped the ball, CC Brass intervened to get the shipment rushed to me (coast-to-coast). I will definitely buy from this woman-owned company again. Thank you!

Horrible customer service, poor quality item. Ordered a handle set that tarnished terribly within a month. No response to email or phone calls for two months. Finally received an answer that the item “ will tarnish as soon as it is installed.” First of all why sell it? Second, that should be disclosed on the website. From reading other reviews, these people are unethical and you will not get your money back. Take your business elsewhere.

My experience with Cape Cod Brass has been exceptional. In several recent transactions, I found the sales staff (Robert and Alan in my cases) to be extremely knowledgeable. They were able to quickly identify the lock sets, deadbolts, handles, and other hardware I needed to match the Baldwin design in my house. They answered all of my questions, and explained things I didn’t know. Emily, in the shipping department, immediately sent details of my orders. Shortly thereafter, she sent full shipping details, complete with tracking numbers. I received all of the parts within a few days even though I didn’t request expedited shipping. I wish all companies performed this well.

I have ordered several times from Cape Cod Brass over the years and it does not have the same ownership or customer service as in the past. According to my contractor, the Baldwin Lifetime Brass handset came with the wrong hardware and wrong directions. When I called about it, they were very rude and insulting and told me they did not see a problem in the pictures I emailed them and referred me to Baldwin. Rather than being helpful to a longtime customer, they dismissed the issue. I lost my money and had to purchase another deadbolt from a box store. Very disappointing as no refund, exchange or credit was ever offered.

We looked everywhere and could not find what we needed until I called Cape Cod. Ryan was incredible in helping me find the product I needed and ship it to me quickly. I ordered 2 keys and key 2 blanks from this company. The cut keys did not work even though they had the code and they did not send the key blanks. I called and told them. They promised to call back but never did. I called back days later but they started arguing with me (implying I was not being truthful). They also refuse to refund what I paid them for the cut keys. If you wish to do business with them, I suggest you read all the reviews on them, not just those on their page.

I have used Cape Cod Brass on more than one occasion for my household needs. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I am just a homeowner and had a lot of questions. They helped answer all my questions and lead me in the right direction for what I was wanting in my house. I have replaced kitchen hardware, door hardware, electrical, and bathroom fixtures. Pricing is very competitive and the product is far more superior to those found at big box stores. Plus, you can see and touch the products, so you know exactly what you are getting. The store is also family owned and operated which is a huge plus in my book. You cant go wrong. It has all the things you would need for small or big projects. My most favorite product I have gotten from Cape Cod Brass is my key less entry system!

This company deserves NO STARS. Placed an order. Called three weeks later after not hearing a thing after they sent confirmation email. Spoke to Ryan who told us the order had been “lost”. Would not expedite shipping due to their error. Said it would ship the next day. Later that night received email that it would be another month before items would be shipped. When I called this am to confirm not only was Ryan full of excuses, non of which were their fault. (Out of stock from company, etc) but also very rude. This company has absolutely NO customer service. Ordered from somewhere else and will have by end of week. Buyer beware. Save yourself grief.

Careful if you order on-line. Website does not communicate if item is in stock or made to order. Three weeks after I placed an order, I called to find out where my order was, and was told it was being shipped that day. When I spoke with Chris, owner? I explained that I was frustrated because:A) nothing on website explained item was out of stock at time of purchaseB) no one emailed me to share timelineGuess what was explained back to me?You could have called to check-in if you were worried.Dear Chris,Im not worried, just managing time tables and expectations of others. As a professional, that is a norm. You said, Im sorry you feel that way. Thats not an apology. The order arrived but the identical item (M145) was made in two different countries (India and China). The items did not look identical. I called Cape Cod Brass and spoke with Jim. He indicated that this shouldnt have happened. He suggested that I wait for his return phone call after checking some things. He never called back. I then called again. Asked to exchange doors as I ordered the wrong ones, the guy on the phone never mentioned a restocking fee when I asked to exchange and said I would be credited back. I just received an email for my credit with a 25% restocking fee. I tried calling 3 times and every time it went to a dead end. I sent an email asking about the 25% restocking fee and no one responded. I spent almost 1k on door knobs and they are that petty to charge me $70 dollars for a restocking fee. I will never order again. Feels like such a scam.

I had a manufacturer defected part sent to me from Cape Cod Brass and the manufacturer told me to order another and that they were aware of the problem I was having. I had to have this piece of hardware by Monday afternoon at the latest. I had Cape Cod Brass send me another one overnight delivery on Thursday around noon. The item did not show up until Tuesday at around 5;00 PM ( Thats 5 full days). My technicians had to grind out a section of the defected part to make it work and go out of town Monday evening and install the parts. I was told by Cape Cod Brass that they would reimburse me for the part and the shipping. They did not refund the shipping cost of almost $30.00. I would not give them any stars if this review would let me do this. There are many other sites you can get these parts from and I would recommend you do that. Cape Cod Brass was rude when I called to ask for my postage refund.

This company is apparently for the most part just a drop shipper, meaning they do not keep goods in stock but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer, another retailer, or a wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer. I dont like this type of operation and would never have ordered from them had I known this up front. This type operation usually causes a slowdown in getting the ordered product. Also, it more than likely is responsible for what I consider to be a ridiculous 25% restocking fee since they are probably subject to the manufacturer or wholesaler policies rather than being able to independently establish their own policies. .

I found this company online with a search for a particular Pull I was looking for. I ended up calling to make sure that the item was actually in stock and ready to ship. I have found that more times than not smaller online companies will list items and then make you wait for a back order so Ive learned to call first to hopefully avoid an issue. The sales associate I spoke with informed me that several of the pulls would need to be sent directly from their warehouse but they would be dispatched immediately. The SA did take my order over the phone and send me a confirmation email. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the items I ordered and how well they were packaged. I am leaving this review now as I am getting ready to place another order from the same company. My only regret would be not remembering the sales associate name he took my order as he was very helpful and efficient. I would definitely recommend Cape Cod brass & Security Hardware.

Very disappointing experience placing an online order. I ordered a handleset in flat black and received it with a knob in a shiny finish, which looked terrible. Nothing on the website explained that the knob I selected was only available in a shiny finish. I emailed politely to request an exchange, after a week of emailing because they had to speak with the manufacturer, I called and was told I could return it at my expense to ship. They accepted no responsibility and quite rudely told me I should have known (somehow, despite no description) that the knob would be shiny. I consider the length of delay plus the unwillingness to accept any responsibility to resolve the issue to my satisfaction very disappointing.

Beware -- they charge a 25% restocking fee on ALL returns -- even those that were never unwrapped or unboxed. And if you buy online, you have to label, insure, package and track everything yourself. Their customer service stops at the purchase phase. Other companies selling comparable goods at comparable prices have far less egregious return policies -- so shop those instead.

Very unprofessional, unhelpful and rude. I’m surprised they have even 3 stars. I was sent the wrong size knobs but decided I’d use them in my mudroom. I just called to get refunded the difference in price. I paid 11$ for larger knobs but received smaller knobs that were 6$ (Labeled incorrectly in bags for the larger size).Even after sending photos of the stuff I recieved and telling them I would use them they still refused to give me the difference in price unless I returned the knobs.I don’t have 3-4 weeks for the prepaid label to arrive in the mail, for me to box them up and drop at fed ex, wait for them to ship out another set of knobs etc. I need the hardware now.frustrated, just cutting my losses and not ever using this company again

This company has terrible customer service. I’ve been stuck dealing with Ryan who has zero customer service skills. From reading these reviews his reputation as such precedes him. These guys sent me damaged product, asked for photos of it, and after I did what he asked he claimed the “finish will wear”. Problem is the product arrived with the paint chipped off! Now, after asking 3 times I can’t seem to get a refund and this guy is telling me I now have to call in and talk with someone else. To top it off the specs for the hinges are inaccurate and when I advised him of that fact he insinuated I must have tried installing it incorrectly or my door was not sized accurately. Funny thing is that I have a professional doing the install and he’s the one who told me they were wrong. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

When it finally arrived, and I tried to return it, they where happy to take it back after another shipping charge and a 25% restock fee. I think they just order the items from manufacturers. Purchased an item on the 27th of June. Item took two weeks to the day to arrive with their flat rate shipping charge of $12.95. Did not receive a follow up email with tracking information. I had to call three separate times to ask the status of shipping, only to be placed on hold while they called the manufacturer of the item to ask when it will ship out. Maybe this middle man style of retailer works for some, but honestly, if they dont have the inventory themselves and need to have items sent from the factory.. theyre just a wasted step in the process for a shopper like myself... When the item arrived I quickly realized I must have selected the wrong part number as it was 3/8 too small for my door. Call to return it, no huge hassle, but there begins another problem for me... The $12.95 shipping charge is non refundable, they do not provide a shipping label for returns and there is a 25% restocking fee on the item. So a $31.11 item (with shipping) less the $12.95 shipping, less the 25% ($13.77), less USPS shipping estimate of $5-$8... would yield me a return to pocket of $5.77-$8.77.... Not worth that headache in my opinion, Ill just end up saving it for maybe another project or donating it to a locksmith... No where on their page did I see it mentioned they are the middle man and have no actual inventory... or maybe this was a special order item and I missed that part... but their lack of communication and terrible shipping speed means I will not be conducting business with them in the future. I do not recommend purchasing from them due to the issues above.. there are so many more retailers online that ship faster, have better customer service and overall better policies. Do yourself a favor and shop around.

I wish I had read this review board before I made the order. I ordered 6 Baldwin deadbolts and 5 exterior locks because their price was competitive. Received an confirmation mail that my order was accepted, and they went silent. A week later, I emailed them to ask for status, and they told me it would take two weeks to send those locks out. My project had to be put on hold to wait for those parts. In the next week, I emailed three times to ask for the status. No reply at all. This company completely does not know how to do business on line.

I had to return some door knobs to this company because we wanted a different color. I talked to one of their representatives who said just to send it back and they would refund me for them. After sending them back I was told by Roxanne that I sent them to the wrong location and they would be keeping 25% as a restocking fee. When I returned the parts for a refund, Cape Cod Brass charged me 25 % restocking fee as stated in there refund policy.Because CCB orders the parts from another vendor (Nostalgic Warehouse) they had to send it back to NW. My mistake.I normally buy everything from Nostalgic Warehouse - they are a much more reputable vendor for these types of parts and very helpful. CCB website is a knock off on Nostalgic Warehouse and I was fooled . I would never buy from CCB again. They refunded my remaining balance after 6 weeks.

Awful customer service! Apparently there is no record-keeping of phone conversations. I had purchased 2 items online and called immediately after to update the quantity to 1. I was told everything was all set and that I would only receive and be charged for 1 item, however that was not the case. When I called again to explain what happened, there was no sympathy and I was refused any type of reimbursement (unless I paid to have the extra item shipped back) because they didnt have the previous conversation on record. The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is because the hardware is quite nice. Unfortunately, I cant say the same for the people who work here.

The absolutely WORST customer service, so rude, unprofessional and they will charge you outrageous 25% restocking fee for anything returned even if its defective. They simply say its not defective and charge the fees. Their rep actually said his opinion is the only one that matters. It is required that restocking fees be reasonable so not to discourage returns and reflective of the actual costs to restock a product. This companys fees are egregious and solely intended to discourage returns and take your money. Beware because there are many bad reviews for the company which means there are probably hundreds more customers that have bad experiences but dont take the time to write. Wish I would have read these other reviews because would have never dealt with them. At the very least hoping this helps someone avoid being ripped off and shop elsewhere.

I have seen some poor service in my life. Cape Cod Brass has to be at or near the bottom. I ordered ONE Simplex lock on Oct 11. On 25 October I call Roxanne to ask where it was. I was made to feel at fault because I did not check on availability. In any event after excuses after excuse I was told she would have it in her store on 16 November and would ship it to me ASAP. I insisted she call me on the 16th whether it arrived or not as I was in a bind for the lock. It is now 21 November.I cancelled the order. We all only have a finite amount of time on this earth. Thank you Roxanne for blowing through 41 days of my time. Maybe a $114.39 + shipping lock is not worth any effort .I just ordered the same lock on AMAZON. I will have it day after tomorrow.

I bought a Baldwin lock from this company online because the price was very competitive. It took forever to come. When it arrived, the mortise lock was broken. The company shipped me a new one before I returned the defective one -- I was initially pleased, but surprised to learn the company still had my credit card on file. Also surprised that no invoice was emailed or mailed to me. Then it turned out I had actually ordered an incorrect part and needed to make an additional return. Again, the company charged me; again, no emailed or mailed invoice. Finally, I had all the correct parts and a working lock. I shipped back what I had that was broken or misordered. Then, over several weeks, I had to call and email repeatedly to get the company to process the return. Once the return was finally processed, I still had no invoice or receipt. Finally (after yet another email exchange), I received a return form that showed a $57 restocking fee -- which had not been mentioned at any point and still did not account for the discrepancy between my credit and what I had spent. Plus, half the time I try to email these folks, the emails bounce back because their system is down. Lesson learned: for a bit more money, order your hardware from a better outfit.

They told me the item was in stock, so I ordered it. When I did not receive it, they told me it was back ordered. When I told them I now could not finish the project in time, they did not care. They were unwilling to help in any way. Lesson Learned!!! Run away from these people!!!

She clearly forgot to take care of my order and when I called she said what the hell and put me on hold! After holding for few minutes she came back denying our conversation for expedited order delivery.They dont even try to help and clearly lie to you.

I bought two locks that did not lock the door flush so it swayed in the wind. I installed one lock and the other was not even installed and they wouldnt take them back because I opened the package. Never shopping there again.

While they promised to only charge me a 10% restocking fee, when I returned an item, they changed it to 25% saying that 10% was only if I was going to be buying another item from them. This was for an item that was never even opened. As soon as I ordered it I realized it was the wrong model and sent it right back.

Be aware that this retailer does not allow exchange of product. When the product arrived I found the color does not match the door so I requested exchange. I was told I need to return it for 25% restocking fee and purchase a new one. They apparently dont know how to do online business to have returned customer.Also be aware of some postings with last name Goode. Since one of the sales person and the president also have same last name, I am wondering if the review is faking around by this family-owned business.---------------------Response to Response from the owner:I wish you read carefully to my review. I didnt say you dont allow return but saying you do not allow free exchange and try to get 25% of profit from just exchanging to a same product. I do quite a bit of online shopping and so far 100% of online retailers allow free exchange if product is unopened in original package, for different color, size, etc. Most of them even allow free return within certain days. Try shop in Amazon, HomeDepot, Lowes, you will know what I am talking about. That is why I call you not quite understand how to do online business.

Ordered door handles for delivery in Toronto, Canada. The value was about 1000$ but Cape Cod indicated a value of 6000$ on the shipping documents and included the original invoice that indicated 1000$. Needless to say that it got stuck at the border due to this obvious discrepancy. Not to mention that the border wanted to charge us for taxes on 6000$.Tried contacting Chris Goode over and over with no response.Avoid this company at all cost.

Horrible experience!!!! Ordered a part was sent an acknowledgement form with a projected date.. Never received any emails of update. So finally I called and they informed me my part was on Back Order and wouldn’t be sent out for another week + !!!! The Staff could seemly not give a care in the world about sending you off with nothing. Beware!!!!
