WARNING ANIMAL ABUSE!!!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE!I am not one to write reviews (in fact this is my very first one ever) but after visiting this pet store I felt the need to. I wish i could give this place zero stars. I am no animal expert nor do I claim to be but all you have to do is look around to see the blatant neglect and abuse of all their animals. As an animal lover and someone who has 8 animals (bearded dragons, a bird, dogs, cats and a turtle) I felt sick to my stomach just being in there for a couple of minutes.For starters, the turtles are beyond over crowded and half seem to be in pretty bad shape. I understand that you can put a few babies together but this was more than a few, they were stacked on top of each other in attempt to just be out of water. Turtles need to have enough space completely out of water (NOT ON TOP OF EACH OTHER) in order to dry their shells completely to avoid shell rot, which is deadly to them. In the picture you can clearly see this was not the case.Next was the bearded dragons. I personally love bearded dragons and even own two myself. The only time bearded dragons should EVER be put together is when they are young and even then it is a little ify. But, they had older dragons, four in a cage, on top of each other. Bearded dragons are dominant animals, they lay on top of each other to assert dominance and abuse each other. They will eat each other toes and tails, suffocate each other, etc. And you can see that very clearly in the picture. They are not meant to be together, a simple google search will warn you of all the dangers of keeping them together. Just take a look at the one on the bottom, the poor baby is clearly VERY sick and looks horrible.Next was the puppies. I have never seen such sickly puppies being sold in a pet store ever, and I have been to dozens of pet stores. The puppies were in small cage you would keep a ferret or guinea pig in, not 4 BABY PUPPIES in. This cage had no covering on and anyone, including children can just pick them up. It broke my heart knowing that these puppies were living in this condition.A few other quick notes, they had tortoises stacked on to each other in very small cages. Dozens of snakes in tanks with no hide and extremely dirty cages. Chameleons in the complete wrong cage set up with nothing to climb on. Two monkeys in a cage that was not suited for them. Birds in open cages smaller than what most animals had. Employees seem unbothered by these conditions and very unhelpful.I can not preface this enough, DO NOT BUY OR SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. They have not empathy or care for living creatures. This place only care about making money and nothing else. These are living things, that do not deserve to live in the conditions they are in. If you do happen to go, look around first, you will see how sickly these animals are. And based on previous reviews I am not the only one to notice this. There are other stores and breeders that actually care for their animals. Please do your research before buying anything from here. These animals deserve a better life.
This place is your once stop shop for all your animal needs from fish, reptiles to puppies and cats and everything between. I loved the selection and the prices were reasonable. If anything go check out their 15 ft python!! She is beautiful.
Everything s pet lover needs. I particularly loved the birds and fish. But their other animals were well taken care of. I could tell they cared about each and everyone of them.
Great staff! Love to bring our daughter here to pet the bunnies. It’s great that they let you pet the animals. We buy stuff for our cat there because they have a good supply of cat stuff and are really nice and helpful.
I go here at least 3 times a week. Everyone is always super helpful and friendly. They have a bunch of animals. Alot that you wont see every day.
All young staff that act bothered if you ask them for any sort of help, one very young girl cut us off in the store and nearly bumped my 2yr old over. We almost left instantly at how shocked we where how the staff treated us but we really needed some salt water for our tank! I used to love this store but it just seems like it’s falling apart and the animal neglect is getting worse each time I visit just from pure laziness! How are you supposed to shop and enjoy your local pet store when the staff act as if their customers are a nucenss!!!
The young lady that helped my fiancé as well as myself didnt hesitate to stop what she was doing and show us everything we needed to know about the tubing we needed..
Very cool pet store worth checking out. If have! Have birds or reptiles they will have what you need. They have a reasonable price for super worms for our dragon. Take your kids just to see something cool.
Really tough to shop at this place. Very dirty and disorganized, but, there are even bigger issues. The treatment of their animals is terrible. Small cages, unkempt areas, animals in environments and habitats they should not be in. It really seems more like a mill, as opposed to a place that cares about these animals and wants to get them in good homes.

The people that work here are always very helpful. They are knowledgeable about the pets and products that you need! I presented them with a temporary situation where I needed a smaller guinea pig cage and they helped me figure out the best one for our baby. He will be comfy and entertained while he is in his smaller environment. Thank you for always helping me with whatever I present you with!!
The inside the store is dusty and crowded but its worth it to go see all the corals, the different varieties of fish, the different snakes, and everything else. Check them out! Youll see so much more than you expect!

20 YES 20 bunnies together not even enough room to move and NO food. Two empty bowls. I told someone they needed food, NOT so friendly staff fed them / those bunnies were starving. I had to make separate places for food because they couldn’t get to it, too many bunnies. Horrible and will not return. I have a rabbit and wish I could have bought them all.
Owner Scott talks or help people of a certain race while ignoring others. I’ve shopped here for about two years and noticed how the owner will make eye contact with me, not say anything, and is quick to say hello to a family of different race who walks in right behind me. Point blank the owner is rude and I’m done spending money here. I don’t care if I’m in walking distance. I’d rather go somewhere else.
Very Very cool place!! The Monkeys😁👏👏❤!! that huge snake gave me the heebie geebies!! But a very cool place to take the kiddos!
So I have bought 2 hamsters here, one a while back, it died of old age, and one I just bought 2 months ago, and they were both the nicest sweetest hamster ever, and Ive gotten manyyy from other places, and those were all mean, so I love this store, and will come to it many manyyy manyyyyyy more times, I love that they let you pet the animals and handle them, its awesome, they are nice, I give this a 5 star rating, and wish I could give a 5000 star rating!

This place is gross! Baby birds just lying in tanks. Monkey are cute, but gee, give them some toys to play with. The water monitors cage is so small! There was bugs in the cage, no food in the bowl, and the filthy, poop water. This is a disgrace! This place should NOT be allowed to treat animals like this.
UPDATE: Have stopped in here twice since my original post and the staff seems bothered and irritated when asked to see a specific animal. My daughter has taught herself a great deal about ball pythons and loved this place as they always had several. The last two times we were in town they had some excuse to why they could not get them out to show her or why she couldnt hold them. We have taken our business elsewhere. Pretty sad.Stopped in here while we were in town and they are like the pet stores were when I was a kid, they allow you to touch and hold the pets, even the snakes! They were so good to my kids.

I went there to buy a baby snake for a present. I looked around and found one that matched the already set up tank we have and when i got it home i noticed it had so many snake mites on it. I dont recommend buying animals from here unless youre willing to rescue

Absolutely disgusting. These people should be closed down immediately. The conditions of these animal’s is outrageous. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! Looking back people have been complaining for years about the same issues. Why is nothing being done. It’s abuse. I will definitely be looking for someone to help address these problems and contacting the humane society.

Four stars for availability of products; negative stars for conditions that they allow their animals to live in. Its pretty clear that they see these living beings as just another product on their shelves. I noticed that a leopard gecko was trapped inside its hide (also its bowls were filled with substrate); told the staff about it and they said that the whole wall of tanks had been knocked over by a customer a couple days ago. So, that poor gecko was stuck in the tiny log hide that was barely bigger than itself and without food or water for days. Pretty sad; I wonder how long it would have taken them to finally notice... They also had two discounted lizards fighting in one tiny tank; one without a tail and one missing a foot. Thats just a couple examples. Also, Im no animal behavior specialist but many of them just looked stressed. The place is just too depressing; I wont be back.

I have no other place to buy frozen rats, for my Sons snake..... The girl sold me 3 rats. Out of the 3, I could only use 1 of them. 2 of them were mutilated. 1 had no head, the other had a long cut DOWN ITS side!!!!!!

WARNING-DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLEJan. 4th I purchased a Senegal parrot from this place.(Mr Petman,South Daytona FL) Between bird, cage, food, and toys I had over $1000 invested. The bird was well cared for and nourished. Suddenly, yesterday morning I awoke to him at the bottom of his cage lifeless. This was my 9 year old sons best buddy. I called Mr. Petman to ask for guidance. There only response to me was sorry for my luck. Not even between the 2 employees I spoke with was any sympathy or condolence. You would have thought I was speaking of a broken car part. I was not seeking any money in return, but how about you just spent $1000 here, how about you come in and we work something out and get your son a new bird? Shouldnt him being upset be important to them? These people are not animal lovers, they are simply animal traffickers with no heart. They just kept repeating their 72 hr policy. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!

I recently returned to this location after 8 months to see if things had improved since my last review. The ferret setup had been majorly improved and cleaned up. Not a single roach in sight from what I could tell. Nothing but a bunch of cute little kits! I am so glad to see that they cleaned and improved their ferret setup. I also have to add that the staff was friendly and easy to work with and the fish section had a very knowledgeable employee named Chris who helped answer all my questions and even sold me on some additional fish. I am editing my review to 5 Stars.Old review - Palmetto bugs were inside the poor baby ferrets cage crawling around the food and water. I wanted to buy them all just to get them out of there. I worked at a pet store for years and we NEVER let it get anywhere near that bad. Large palmetto bugs crawling inside the ferret cage?? I pray those little guys go to good homes and dont waste away in there.
They are selling birds illegally. If you sell birds they must have their id bands on them until they are bought, well this place sells them with no Id bands which means they came in illegally or were breaded and not I’d which is also illegal. So don’t buy anything from here the place is also filthy.

Pretty cool place. Went to get an auto fish feeder but they ended up not having but we still ended up spending a ton of time there looking at all the stuff they in there including the monkeys that they have! I would definitely recommend it and if you ever find yourself there I would checkout all the animals they got.
Dear Mr Petman.The disappointment I have with this store is unbelievable. I cant stress this enough to everyone who reads this to PLEASE NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PET STORE. The poor snakes are all on their death beds past the point of rescue. For mothers day my husband bought me a baby ball python FRESH BABY BALL and it was INFESTED WITH MITES. We are now in the process of having to treat all 13 of our snakes because of the carelessness of this shop. Get it together or please close your doors petman.

The petstore hits you in the face with the smell of ammonia right when you walk in. Several of their reptiles are covered in mites...the rodents are sickly with wet tail...a sickness they cannot easily recover from. Their fish tanks are filthy.Birds are in glass cages with poor air circulation and sitting on wood shavings which can actually be very toxic to birds.The animals need serious help here, HOW ARE THEY STILL IN BUSINESS?!?! 🤬 I wish I could give zero stars. THESE ANIMALS NEED HELP!
Please don’t buy animals from this place not only are 90% of them sick they are not taken care of they are not fed correctly if any food at all, unfortunately a deceased hamster was found by a customer in a cage that other hamsters were eating most likely because they are not being fed when this was addressed with a store employee his response was ya we know it’s dead it’s been there a few days 🤬 Dogs leave there sick with parvo birds are dying and nobody seems to care so please don’t purchase anything from this horrible place

Bought a White Collar Ring Parrot Saturday at 3pm, we followed all feeding instructions including bringing Parrot back the next day because it was acting weak and not wanting to eat but we were told it was fine to eventually Parrot dying Monday morning. If had been less than 48hrs and store refuses to refund my credit card or do anything. This so Sad for us. Buyers beware!

I got my Male crested gecko from here over a year ago. He was my first crested ever and they were amazing helping me set him up, he was very well priced as well. I got him for 90 when all my other geckos have been 150! Made the trip at least once a week all the way from palm coast to them and made friends with the staff there. They are kinda abrasive at first but they have one dude working there that is amazing. He remembered for weeks after that I had bought a gecko and asked every time I came in how he was doing and once I started a breeding project, wanted to be kept up to date.

The place smells terrible, everything is 50% marked up compared to other stores and they have $300 or more lizards that look like they will die the moment you get them home, not to mention the parrots they have stuff in Aquariums.....stay away
I went in the store looking for things for a rabbit and they had quite a nice selection.
As soon as you walk in here it smells real bad, cages are dirty and a lot of animals are sick looking. I purchased a cockatiel from this store 3 months ago. It was only 3 weeks old, and very sick with a respiratory infection. The bird was sneezing the whole rest of the day after I brought him home. To the vet the next day, said if I had waited another day to bring in the bird it would have died. Little Peeps is doing very well now and we love him. Im just sad thinking about the other birds that were in the same cage that probably had the infection.
Won’t return animals bought 2 days prior. i have no complaints on the animal, i just changed my mind. i wanted to give it a chance to be resold to someone better while it was still young. i didn’t even need money back.

They know what theyre doing sometimes the prices are a little high compared to online but then you got to wait three weeks but I always do with them and as I was walking in there was a broken terrarium and the guy threw it to me for free so he tasted my books
I wish more people bought these wonderful animals. This place does its best but some of the reptiles have been there a long time. I got my chameleon and the staff is always nice and doing stuff with/for the animals when they can. But they can only do so much with what they have and the animals can only live so long in cramped quarters which is fine for short term holding.... Please buy these awesome animals.

This places is the worst place for pet store, it smells horrible and there is flys everywhere animals are in worst possible condition every cage or tank was dirty, I feel sorry for pets in there Employees was busy with each other gossiping n giggling over 10 min while we was in there. No attention to customer or greets. They just need to sell pet supply, no pet animals. Its really heartbreaking to see all the animals the wat they keep them.
I absolutely love this place. I brought my Amazon parrot, Buster, to get his nails clipped, among other things, and they did such a great job with Buster, I could hear them sweet-talking him. The staff is very knowledgeable and polite. I got here from Seattle a few months ago and I havent been meeting the most polite people, it was nice to finally walk into a place where everybody was so polite and kind. They have a great variety of things, practically anything you need for your animals. If you need anything have any questions go to the Pet Man in South Daytona.
I love this place, non traditional pets and friendly knowledgeable staff. They encourage interactions with the animals. They have recently reset and cleaned up the store. I use them for all my reptile and bird supplies. I appreciate the fact a place like this exists close to me. Please support and keep places like them around.
Mr Petman has all off the selection of a great pet store with the animal variety of a small zoo. Reptiles on display as you go in and a front counter surrounded by birds, ferrets, and today it was a huge bird eating spider. Some of the animals are for sale and some are store pets. Even if you dont go in for a purchase you can just go in a marvel at the selection of wild life in there. Now that is just the above ground animals. In the back is a myriad of fresh and saltwater fish to look at and take home. They have a huge selection of aquariums and decor as well as coral and anemone to balance out your tanks. It is a hidden gem in South Daytona to visit and after you visit the pet store stop next door for some amazing taffy and ice cream!!

My grandson loves the monkeys there. The gentleman was very helpful. All kinds of fish and different types of snakes and lizards. The one snake is huge !

I went in there with about 800. to spend on a nice set up and snake. As I child I used to keep them and wanted to start back up but I couldnt get any help the staff was very dismissive and not once did anyone as if I needed help even when I was asking questions about certain snakes they would barely engage in conversation or offer any help past the question asked and after asking and stating I was intrested in a specific snake no one offered to show me the snake or even ask me any questions. This is the worst pet shop Ive ever been too and would not recommend this place to anyone wish I could give it a negative star they totally lost out on a big sale as I had all intentions of not only getting a snake but a whole set up for it I wanted a 55gal tank lights all the works but oh well Ill just order on line from someone who wants my business!
Terrible!! Neglected animals, foul smell, NFS snakes without hides. Not to mention, the employees are uneducated and rude. I will never go here. There are much better pet stores, pet stores that arent neglecting and abusing animals.

We have purchased two parrots and a Bearded Dragon there and are very satisfied. We also purchase our Parrots foof and live crickets there as well. We love to visit often to play with all their critters... A great family store and everyone employee are very helpful and they sure do love the variety of pets, which are well cared forKeep up the good work !
Everytime Ive been here, multiple species are dead in the tanks. Turtles and fish. Staff seems to not care about their jobs, animals or customers. Im honestly suprised its even in business. Tried to support small local businesses but Id rather spend my money at petsmart and that says a lot!

I went to this place. Hardly any help. I bought 2 white african cichlids. The guy who took them out the tank dropped it on the floor and still gave it to me someone ne saw him and the 2 fish i bought died within a week. Never going there again.
My favorite local pet store in the area. Chad, Scott and the owner Anthony are extremely knowledgeable people when it comes to fish, both freshwater and saltwater. They are great people that share the same love for the hobby as we do. In addition, they are down to earth, real people - doesnt get better than that!They treat their regular customers well and enjoy seeing the progress of our tanks and have established a relationship with us as customers.We frequent Mr. Petman 3 to 4 times a week. 100% recommend!
