Worst place I have ever brought a vehicle to! Brought it in to get the starter replaced they texted us saying it was ready when we got the car back there was no power steering and they somehow managed to make our cruise control stop working and never once notified us that they were having issues bleeding the power steering out! Charged us $600+ to fix one thing and we got it back with more issues then when it got dropped off. I don’t not recommend this place.

Time and time again, Eric and the team remind me of what perfect customer service looks and feels like. They bend over backwards to make me comfortable, offering me a loaner car, working around my crazy schedule, taking the time to answer my endless questions and sending follow-ups to ensure everything is good with the service I received. I sold the Subaru and purchased from a different automaker and still come to Twisted Wrench. Cant imagine a better shop!

I went there because my engine light was on and they quickly diagnosed my problem and got it fixed really fast. They gave me a thorough explanation of why it was having issues and what to do in the future. It turns out that it wasnt as serious as I thought. More importantly they were honest and didnt try to charge me for parts that I didnt need and gave me great customer service. I would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend this place to anybody!

I would highly recommend Twisted Wrench to anyone. It is the only mechanic I feel I can truly trust my car with. They are honest, very fair with pricing and will never try to up-sell you on costly repairs you dont need. I have had fairly extensive suspension work done with them and they were able to work with me to prioritize repairs based on my budget. Twisted Wrench has become our local mechanic shop of choice! We own a Subaru and because they specialize in Subarus...well...Ill trust an expert for that service any day. Just not a dealership. Our experience with dealerships have been less than wonderful. However, the service from Twisted Wrench has been amazing. Not only do they fix the car and give us no reason to believe that there will be any new issue or unforeseen issues come up, they stand behind their work. Eric has been amazing to deal with when it comes to repairs and regular maintenance on our vehicle. We get reminders, we get cash off, and we get service from a mechanic that we didnt think was possible in this business. Our hats are off to Twisted Wrench and all the professionals there that get the job done right the first time!

I highly recommend Twisted Wrench! My car needed nearly $2k of overhaul work, and they were able to get my car back in great shape after advising on the most cost effect repairs. Service was timely and they provided very professional advice! I will be back for service on both of our cars!

I went in for my state inspection, which was already past due and I needed some work done to pass. Twisted wrench was super awesome about squeezing me in on short notice. Dropped my car off in the morning, I borrowed a loaner over night, and had my car back before noon the next day. I asked and received quotes for pricing prior to the work, I researched pricing and labor, their prices were very agreeable. Super friendly and polite staff. 10/10 will be back.

It’s my first time there. I had my slotted and dimpled routers with Red Stuff break pads put on I bought from ECS Tuning website. My car is a Audi S3 so I was truly nervous to say the least. Ive brought my Subaru in for a standard oil change and inspection and for a replacement battery. They text to let you know when its ready or if it needs additional repairs, and theyre always fast. Theyre so easy to schedule with and everyone who works there are genuine, nice people. Will definitely keep coming back!

Twisted Wrench has always been very straight forward with me and have done great work on my car. When I ask for quotes, they will have the latest quote sent to me in minutes. UPDATED 7/2020:I cant say enough about this place. There arent a lot of reliable mechanics out there, but these folks really care about you and your budget. Ive been coming here for over 2 years and theyve tackled some big jobs during that time. Eric is really understanding about financial issues, and Im almost always given options. What is needed can be separated from lower priority issues when money is tight. I know they can be a bit more costly than other places, but wouldnt you rather the job is done right?? Or at all? Ive had too many rip-offs (even at dealers!) so Im going to keep coming to Twisted Wrench. Michelle at the front desk has always been very courteous and understanding. I finally decided to update my review after a job they are doing now, where a huge fire hazard was found. I didnt feel comfortable driving out of there, and neither did the team. When I had difficulty finding a ride, they were able to set me up with a temporary vehicle! I dont generally like bringing my car into mechanics because of that feeling of being patronized or feeling like Im paying more than I should for work that may or may not need to be done. I fully trust these guys.I found them when my old subaru needed the engine replaced. They tracked down a used one and installed it for about half the price I was quoted at the dealership, and it always ran smoothly.They always let me know about any issues with my car, but they tell me what actually needs to be done immediately and what can wait, so they dont end up charging me for uneccessary work.Also, theyre one of the only shops Ive been to where I never feel like they are talking down to me, which I really appreciate.Keep up the good work!

I got my oil changed at this garage(looking for a new mechanic for my Toyota). So far, so good. They were very friendly, professional, and went over my car to see if anything up. My car is older and recently purchased. They gave me an estimate for the control arm bushings to be replaced, and also uneven wear on tires (rotation needed).Someone else already had seen that, too. They seem genuinely interested in customer feedback, so that is good. Clean and pleasant waiting area with coffee, and also giving me a free loaner car!

My son goes to college at St. Mike’s and he had an issue with a brake and a wheel bearing that needed to be repaired before he drove home for Spring Break. He looked up Twisted Wrench and based on the reviews took the car there as it wasn’t driveable to take it to our usual mechanic here in North Conway, NH. It would be pretty easy to try and take advantage of a 19 year old on car repairs and I was so pleased to hear he had a positive experience today. They did the repairs at a reasonable price and even offered to give him a ride back to campus while they did the work. I would recommend the place to anyone.

Twisted Wrench is my shop of choice. Ive been taking my cars there since 2003 and can trust them 100%. For me, trust is the biggest issue when choosing a mechanic. They always show me what was repaired or what needs to be repaired and help me with any other issues I have. Their car loaner program is fantastic and allows me to continue working seamlessly while my car is in the shop. I highly recommend them!

They will screw u over with costs. I encourage everyone not to go . I was told bill was around 500 I get there and bill is 800 . Very hurt and upset. Car needed to fixed yes, but could have been handled differently.

I was trying to get out of my Saab, which I really liked for many years. Stopped in and they took my car in trade toward a great Acura. Also gave me free state inspections for life and 3 year or 30k warranty on all my future repairs done by them. This shop rocks. Never knew there is such honest guys still in the used car business. Although they are more of a repair facility, I was lucky to find these guys. Look for big things from this place. This place is the best shop I have ever experienced by far!!!!

I went in for an oil change and afterwards they discovered my car (2003 Toyota Highlander) needed a new drive shaft, control arm bushings, as well as two exhaust leak repairs. I decided to have them investigate further and they took the time to look over the car for free a second time, and even showed me in person each problem that they saw from the underneath side of the car, which was so refreshing and helped me understand exactly what was wrong. I decided to go forward with the repairs and got a good feeling from these guys, like they were honest and didnt beat around the bush. They did a great job with the repairs from what I can tell, because my car now drives much more smoothly. I will definitely recommend them to my friends!

At Twisted Wrench, they make a promise, they always keep it. Stayed with my car while changing tires over. They said it would take an hour. One hour later I was on the road, headed off to my next destination. And I got a coupon in the mail making this maintenance less than $30.00, life is beautiful, when you use Twisted Wrench for your car service needs.

Brought in my ‘07 Civic for inspection last month. It failed miserably (rusted out underneath), but they were very accommodating. They took the time to show me the severity of the rust, and explain how I can avoid/postpone the rust rot in the future.I’ve been back three times in the last month. Twice for pre-buy inspections on potential vehicles, both of which were very thorough and honest. The third, yesterday, was to remove a half-stripped, half-ripped out O2 Sensor. They were honest about the uncertainty of the job, and warned it could take a few hours of labor to extricate the poor brutalized sensor. They did it in 30 minutes! Very pleased with their service, and will definitely be back.

Do not recommend. They told us multiple things were wrong with the car and tried to get us to spend thousands of dollars fixing up our car--more than its worth! We took it to Bobs Auto Center in Essex Junction to get a second opinion and were finally given a fair price, and they didnt try to make us do any unnecessary work.

Great shop to work with! They gave an estimate to fix my AC that was much lower that the Honda dealership and the work was flawless. Will definitely use again, great guys!

Trouble with my FJ Cruiser. Really pulled to the right when I braked and at one point, had no brakes. I thought oh boy, multiple trips to get this fixed. I couldnt have been more wrong. I initially found Twisted Wrench through the CarTalk website in 2005 when looking for an honest mechanic for my ‘86 Subaru. That was many cars ago and I remain a happy customer. They are straight up and good at what they do.

Twisted Wrench has never steered my wrong. Ive been bringing my various Subarus to them for over 15 years. They are totally trustworthy and are always there when I need them.

I have had work performed by Twisted Wrench multiple times and have been happy with the results. There was a slight snafu with my last visit but they were willing work with me to resolve it. They stand by their word which a big plus in my book.

Update: I made the mistake of using Twisted Wrench again and this time they really messed up. They did about $300 worth of repairs that were never estimated, quoted, or approved. I was selling the car later that day so accepted a $100 whoops discount. It hurts me to finally write this review--about 2 or 3 years ago this shop took a sudden turn and lost its attention to detail. My past three visits have all been frustrating--never a major issue, but poor communication, oversight, and dropping the ball.

Friendly, timely, and honest. The only reason they cost more is because they do more. Big focus on preventative maintenance, and they tell it like it is. Never felt pressured into doing something. This is the place to bring your Subaru. Avoid the dealer or corporate chain shops (i.e. Midas). They will just slap a band-aid on your problem or convince you to replace things that dont need fixing.

Im a long term customer -- predating my Outback which is now 12 years old and running well thanks to the TW team. They are both technically competent and customer oriented.

In response to the Greg Johnson review: Twisted Wrench does not charge for pulling codes out of your car for a check engine light. Stop in any time and the codes will be pulled for free. If Mr. Johnson had paid $50.00 for this there would be a record of this in the computer system, yet there is no record of a Greg Johnson ever coming to Twisted Wrench.

Trust me. I did shop around. Eric was one of the few who responded to me promptly with the lowest quote, even without UVMMC employee discount. Most of the shops didnt even respond to the inquiries I made on their website. Makes you wonder whether they might be too busy to pay attention to what you actually need, doesnt it?In the world where you have to watch out for yourself because you are fed up with being taken advantage of, Eric protected me from overspending for something I didnt need. Thank heaven for him not to take advantage of someone like me who doesnt know anything about car parts. I planned to spend >$1000.00 but ended up spending only $300 and my 14-year-old car now runs so nicely with the soft sound of a purring cat instead of a speed boat.
