I don’t usually take the time to write long reviews, but I feel Jim at Wilkinson Oil has earned this review and he has in turn earned my future business. I needed a complete heating system replacement (oil boiler, burner, and indirect water tank). My existing system was 30+ years old in the house I purchased in Nov 2020. I knew my job would be difficult as my heating system is located in a crawlspace with a low head height and a vapor barrier on the ground. Moreover, I wanted to go through the MassSave program to get a heat loan to spread out the cost of the system replacement. I contacted many companies, most would not even quote the job due to the crawlspace. Others would not do the entire system, just the boiler or water tank individually. None of them would help me with the MassSave heat loan program. I was getting really frustrated until I spoke with Jim at Wilkinson Oil. In my first call, Jim walked me through the heat loan process before even setting up a time to quote the job. The process is somewhat involved, but Jim told me he would help along the way, start to finish. He made good on that promise. Jim quoted out the full job including all the permits, installation (electrical and plumbing), boiler, indirect water tank, all new vales/controls, and removal of existing system. Basically a turn key job, start to finish. The price was higher than some others, but it was for a complete job. Jim helped walk me through the steps for getting the heat loan and was in communication with me throughout the process. Once I secured the loan, he got me on the schedule to have the system installed. They removed my old system and had the new one installed the same day, even with my tough install conditions. There were a few minor issues after the install, and they promptly fixed them the same day, even staying late on a Friday night to make it right. They also helped me diagnose and repair a water pressure issue I was having as well. After the job, Jim filled out all the MassSave rebate forms for me and hand delivered them to my house and went over them with me. I can’t stress this enough, you truly do not get this type of customer service anymore. I’m sure Jim does the same for all their customers, but you can tell he has pride in his work, wants the customer to be knowledgeable of what they are getting and be happy with the finished product. I highly recommend Jim at Wilkinson Oil for heating system replacements. These types of systems are expensive and complex, so if you are like me, you probably don’t want just anyone doing the work. I trusted Jim, and he earned my trust on this job. Give them a try and I think you will be happy with how you are treated and the quality of their work.

Not pleased after using this company for two years. We moved into our 11 year old home two years ago and called this company when our heat wouldn’t turn on after 9 months living there. They did a great job, or so we thought. We had to call them again 17 months later (maybe should have had it serviced at 12 months...) for the same issue, the heat wouldn’t turn on. They came and spent almost two full days in my home with two people. I had let them know after the first day that I was concerned with cost and to please let me know if the cost was approaching $500 and they did not. We were then billed almost $800... that was May during COVID-19. We did not use the heat until this October and guess what happened? The heat wouldn’t turn on. We called them again and they came with four people this time and were down there for two hours and eventually replaced a nozzle that was apparently too small and now we haven’t had issues. You might think their service from 5 months ago would be a warranty but no we were billed for $100 - which they charged without our permission! Do not recommend this company to anyone especially if you’re stressed about money and not knowing what’s going on the entire time they service your furnace. The only reason I gave two stars opposed to one is because they do show up when they say and that’s the only thing you can rely on them for - don’t trust their payment promises or them fixing your system the correct way the first time, they will be back again and again to try to fix the issue they should have fixed the first time.
