The manager is very helpful and the employees are friendly and informative. The only drawback is there is not a wide range of each type of household diy project items, such as Entry Doors, Toilets, Tiles, Carpeting, etc.. but overall, a great place to do your shopping for basic home and yard maintenance items.

Raks has everything you need, or can get it. Keith is the most helpful person you will ever encounter at a hardware store (or any store probably). He tends to remember what my projects are and points it out to me when I come to the counter with the wrong parts. He has saved me many trips into town, and he somehow knows everything about building. Dani is also super helpful-she remembers everyones name and goes out of her way to provide great service. FAR better than the other hardware store in Socorro!

Staff let you shop, but are available if you have questions, which is nice. Very different from the other hardware store in town that haunt you and will not let you evaluate your options or browse.

I love coming into this place. They try to give the best info. to help finish my projects.

Would rate higher, but closes early. Went by at 4:30 and the store was closed when it says it doesnt close until 5:00.

Ive been going to Raks since they were Tremart (over 30 years). It has all the feel of a small town hardware/lumber store (I hate HD and Lowes). Some times you have to wait for them to ship in whats needed but what you get is frequently higher quality than the box store. Just ordered some baltic birch plywood thats better (flatter, better laminate etc) than you can get in the box stores for the same price.
