Just bought a knife today here, great selection. Staff were very friendly. One of them dealt with me for around 40 minutes while I was looking through and trying all the knives. They also had a great selection of flashlights, although I didnt buy one as I already have a ton. Overall, I strongly recommend this place.

Going Gear is always our first thought when we need something new for a camping trip, hiking gear, sunglasses, etc. Today, my son and I visited to replace some sunglasses that were lost in a body surfing incident over fall break. While we always have a great experience here with the friendly staff, today was a particularly good experience. I would highly recommend stopping in here.

I bought a light online at the end of September, got it in October, had problems with it for a couple weeks and sent it back early November. Its now nearly the end of December and I havent been able to get them to email or call me despite OVER A DOZEN attempts to contact them in various ways. They now have my defective light AND my money.Marshall would not be proud. If you live out of state, buyer beware. STILL attempting to get reimbursed.

I love their YouTube videos and the shipping of one of my three items was very quick. Product was great.The problem came in with the last two items I ordered the same day as the first. The order was placed 12/3/19. I put in an email to ask the status of the last two items and they massaged back. There were a couple messages back and forth (with out my original question being answered) and their final message was on 12/5. I’ve emailed them several times since that date with silence on their end. I called their store multiple times over several days without an answer.Their customer service is terrible so I will likely not order from them again. I’m still waiting on my last two items, and I have no idea what’s going on with them.

Toys for big boys love it

I recently ordered a backpack from GG that was impossible to find. The Osprey Manta AG 36L was replaced by a smaller 34L in 2019 and I could not find the larger pack anywhere. Turns out GG had it. I ordered a med/large and they initially sent me the small/med size. So I called and they immediately sent me a return label and mailed the correct size to me. Great customer service and (from the website) it seems they have some great products too. If I ever find myself in Smyrna, GA I will definitely stop in.

I ordered a Spyderco Chapparal with the Raffir Noble scales through Going Gear’s online store. I told the guy working there that I wanted to pick up in store because the scales on that knife are different for every piece, so I wanted to see one in person before buying it. Drove 5.5 hours to check out their stock. Like a mini REI full of goodies. Most, if not all of their website items are actually in stock at the store. The best part is you can touch everything to test it out before buying. They have a flashlight WALL full of every flashlight they carry online. I love the selection of gear they sell but I wish they would be open longer than 6 p.m. on the weekday. A few employees complain about how slow it gets but you close before anybodys off of work..I just dont understand that.

Cool gear and excellent customer service

I found out about this place online and was drawn to them because the we offering a little bit better price on a tk-75 flashlight that I had my eye on. Well I went for it because well who doesnt like to same money. When I mad my purchase and about 2 days later got a call saying they dont have that one new so I was offered a use floor model at a discount. So I said yes. Well I got the light and was soon to realize that it was the incorrect one. Well I was told that they would have to order it or I could get a refund so I opp. to wait for the new one. Well frustrating to say that they where unable to fill my order. Through out the 2 months and 1/2 of me having to call and call to see whats going on I am left with nothing. There comunication is the worst I have had till this date. Will never do any kind of business with them again. I would give zero stars if that was an option.

I came here around Christmas and had a bad experience. I came back today (June 20) and my experience was 1,000 times better. Im leaving a star off because I think their prices are too high, even for a small local shop.

Found out about Going Gear from watching Sootch on YouTube. It was about a 3 hour drive for us. What a great place! They had a whole wall of quality flashlights that you could try. Another wall of quality backpacks, bags and pouches from manufacturers like Maxpedition and 5.11 Tactical. Lots of outdoor and survival equipment and a large selection of knives. Daniel, who helped us, was friendly and very knowledgeable. It couldnt have been a better experience. Unless we would have got to meet Sootch! Lol! It was well worth the drive and we will return.

Im getting very sick and tired of everytime I check the website to check to see that their open. It says theyre open and dont close till 6. But every time I call or show up theyre closed.
