Been here before. Got our boat in the shop in great time for how busy they are. Replaced spark plugs, impeller,, lower unit fluid, fuel line and some engine mount repair in one day. They also provided a video of motor running and photos to show that the work was done. Willing to help. Employees with experience who know what they are doing. Overall excellent service and we will come here again.
Wow! I found an honest mechanic!I bought my first used boat this summer and I didnt know any boat mechanics. I just knew I was going to be taken advantage of because I am a girl and I knew nothing about boats. It was by luck that I was able to get an appointment with Ship Shape Marine. There were several issues with my boat and Larry would take the time to explain to me what the problems were and in what order we should fix them. We started on the engine first and after Larrys crew serviced my boat, it was time for me to test it on the water. It was running well and then BAM! I drove over some rocks and messed up the outdrive AND the engine which totaled my boat. Thank goodness for insurance!Sometimes you wonder if theres any honest mechanics left in the world. I can tell you right now that I found them working in Smyrna at Ship Shape Marine. I am so thankful to have met Larry and his crew. I appreciate everything you all helped me with this summer. Best wishes to you all!
I just visited Ship Shape Marine boat repair, and they are AWESOME. I am a new boat owner and had the boat inspected prior to hitting the water. Larry went through the boat with a fine-toothed comb. He is extremely knowledgeable in a boats mechanical components, etc. Since I am new to the boating world, he provided me with additional guidance & advice to better ensure my safety while towing on the road, maneuvering about the ramp, and playing on the water. I will be a lifetime customer at Ship Shape Marine boat repair - because Larry and his team ROCK! Thanks for incredible service.
Larry is one of the most honest guys you will ever deal with! Was gonna buy a 300$ module from him and he kindly led me in the right direction which by the was my ignition sensor (108$) part. Much respect my friend.
We were headed home from vacation inMississippi & a rock hit The windshield and busted it. We started calling around trying to find a replacement. We got a hold of Larry at ship shape Marine. He said we could send pictures and he would see if he had the right windshield, By some miracle he had the windshield we needed and agreed to stay late so that we can pick it up. He was so helpful & professional We would definitely call them again for any of our boat needs.
The only place I will take my boat to. Had a problem with my prop and the guys took care of the problem in no time. Great people and easy to deal with! Highly recommend!
A real jewel for middle Tennessee,The staff Crystal,Larry not to mention the skilled mechanics. Steve life long experience with keeping us on the water and my boat worry free while Im out on the lake with family. Thanks guys!!!
Larry and his team are always helpful and truthful about what is going on with my boat. I have used them the last 12+ years and trust them to do things right. I’m on my second boat with them and still rockin’. Love the videos.
Extremely fair and honest! Took my boat to another mechanic and he could not figure it out. Took it to ship shape Marine oh, they figured it out within 15 minutes!
Larry!!!!!!! You are a lifesaver!!! Let me tell you why. Today, a Saturday mind you. I launched my boat and within minutes my overheat alarm went off . After diagnosing a bad impeller, I started calling around. Everybody was closed. Even Ship Shape, however, Larry answered the phone. I explained my my unfortunate situation, and Larry offered to hang out for me to get there. Larry, you went way above and beyond in customer service. By doing what you did not only was I able to get back on the water, but you ensured tomorrow’s lake trip to Tim’s Ford was going to happen. I can’t say enough about you and your business. But I will say this, you have earned a new customer. From now on, I will always call you for my boat needsThank you, thank you, thank you !!!!!!James Fike
These guys are GREAT! They are down to earth, they know what they are doing and are very good. Ive use them several times to fix things I dont want to mess with, and when I need some advise on some DIY repairs they always advise me and have the right parts fast. Thank you SSM!
Contacted ship shape marine as a last resort after not being treated right by other repair shops. Larry and his staff welcomed me with smiles and jokes. It was a pleasure watching his techs meticulously go through every aspect of my motor to figure out the problem. Larry was very understanding and explained everything and explained the cost breakdown. I have truly never dealt with a better company then ship shape marine. I look forward to continuing doing business with Larry and his staff. Thanks-Grant
Awesome Guys!!!Very knowledgeable guys if you have a question about anything they don’t care to provide there knowledge to you…I Would recommended to anyone looking for a good marine shop.
Larry gave me some great advice about repairing an oil leak on my boat. These folks are very friendly and extremely helpful. Thanks Larry!
Was looking to buy a part and they had a perfectly good used part for 1/3 the price. No fuss transaction and everyone was very nice.
I had suspected my accelerator pump in my carb was bad and did not want to rebuild my carb myself. These guys had me rebuilt with a kit and running smooth in just 2 days. Thank you Ship Shape. I will be back.
These guys are great. Highly knowledgeable and helpful, and they charge a fair price. They are often backed up for a good reason - everybody wants to bring their boat here! Email them for fastest service. They will reply in a timely manner and schedule a time for you to bring your boat. They will answer any question you have and will explain the problems and how they will fix the problems. They are honest and dependable. You will not go wrong taking your boat here.
Drove to Tennessee to purchase a boat from a private owner. The boat had some engine issues so we drove to Ship Shape Marine to get their opinion on the problem. Very glad we did. After discussing what was wrong with the engine with Larry and staff we discovered it was a major repair and they saved us thousands of dollars by not going through with the purchase. I highly recommend this business.
I came in with an older bass boat that had not been running in a long time. Where I thought it was the starter Larry checked it and it was locked up. Turned out the flywheel was too tight. He fixed that, replaced components and got it running. I came to get it and it would not start at the lake or my home. Come to find out it was all human error on my part, Im a 1st time owner so my knowledge has a lot to be desired. He showed me the proper way to start a boat. Larry and his crew are not ones to candy coat anything, they will humble you!! For me personally I needed that. They are not going to string you along but they are going to be professional and courteous, because they want you to enjoy your boat. Ship Shape has earned my respect and business by just being honest and friendly. I dont know how else I can explain Ship Shape Marine than this. If you need a repair shop that will work on your boat, not screw you over, be honest as honest can be, empathetic and understanding, call Ship Shape Marine, talk to Larry and he will take care of you. He was the only shop that called and asked how they can help me. That should tell you the kind of business this is. 1st Class!!
Great experience! These guys are highly skilled and very helpful. He even cleaned up my old housing and provided some extra grease so I could replace the part on my own, and provided some instruction to help. Bring in your old broken parts - best way to make sure you get the right replacements and these guys will help you out.
This is a fair and honest business. I took my boat in for unknown noises in the motor. I expected it would be an expensive issue but I didnt expect what I was told. They did an inspection and found the noises, but before taking my money and sending me out the door they called me and asked me to come to the shop to discuss what they found. My boat transom was bad and unsafe. They didnt just repair the boat and send me out. They sure could have turned a dollar and sent me away but they didnt. They notified me what was wrong. Nothing was repaired at this time. Now I have decisions to make, but I have all the information so I can make the correct ones. I will take the motor back and get it repaired but not to be used on the bad hull. They gave me all the options and costs up front for the repair so I could decide what I wanted to do. I highly recommend this business if you own a boat. If you need a repair and you want someone to work on it and be honest with you go to Ship Shape Marine. I really appreciate the honesty and fair treatment.Sincerely,Mike Gillentine
I called Larry at Ship Shape Marine today to see if he could repair the steering cable in my Mastercraft boat. Other boat repair shops could not see me until later in the week. He saw me quickly without an appointment and was able to fix the issue within 30 minutes. Great service with customer obsession. I will call Ship Shape again for next service.
Second time going.. last year was a great experience. Larry took ten minutes to help myself think out loud and gave me great advice. Ended up purchasing some fuel line at that time. Went back this year since I had a slight issue with a different boat and wanted to get a new prop along with possibly some fuel line. Had a couple of rookie questions in regards to gas tanks, venting, and wanted to know if there was any risks associated with the swelling of the new tanks. Each question was met with a sarcastic remark or a shoulder shrug mixed in with a clueless look. Almost as if regardless of what I said nothing was going to get a credible response. Larry knows a lot, and I know these were questions he could have easily answered or at least responded in a way to make me feel like he wanted to help or at minimum have a customer there. I planned on buying a new prop.. but instead walked out. With that said.. Larry is a good guy and I can tell he wants to help when he can (look at how the guy responded below.. he definitely means well). He truly helped a ton the year before which is why I went back this year. The simple fact is they are BUSY (as expected) therefore our expectations as customers should be reasonable and fair. I certainly jumped the gun on a one star review as I know how important these reviews can be to small businesses.
I have been taking my boat to Ship Shape fr a few years now, and I am more than pleased with these guys. I have an older boat with an in line six cylinder, yes, the kind no one wants to work on. Larry has been a diamond in the rough since day one...idling issues, trim motor issues, tune ups...he has knocked it all out for me every time. I have been emailing him the past week about an issue and he has always responded with questions and solutions in order to narrow down the problem. Sometimes Ill get an email from him long after shop closes, and that meant a lot since he couldve easily said, this can wait till tomorrow. We set up that I would bring it by today when they opened and I was there at 9:00. Larry pulls up and before even going inside the shop, he walks with me to my boat. We talked about what the problem could be and how to fix it, then we went inside and got some parts and off I went. I could go on and on, but let me tell you, these guys are absolutely the best to work with. I highly recommend them and you will always come out ahead if you let them help you. Thanks Larry.
Dropped my boat off for winterizing and also a bilge pump repair. Larry was great and the process was simple. He had it ready in just a couple hours and very reasonable pricing. Will definitely use this place again!! I highly recommend!
Boat people.Good people.Until step on land.Ugh.Ship Shape Fix Good.Good People... Theyre almost always in a boat.
Larry & TJ were a pleasure to work with. If you have repairs needed for your outboard motor, make sure you stop by to see them. I dropped mine off and it wouldn’t idle or run. They took care of my problem. I received detailed videos daily updating me of the progress they were making, which is very helpful for a curious person like myself. Some of the nicest guys in town and they know what they are talking about. They have earned my business for any outboard repairs for life.
The guys at Ship Shape Marine are super knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.I have a very unusual older engine with its own unique notorious issues; these guys knew exactly what to look out for and were very informative.I scheduled a time to bring my boat in for them to be a diagnose a very disturbing sound that I feared was going to be a warranty situation with a different boat repair company. These guys were prepared to document everything to help me if the worst case scenario was true so I would have the proper information I would need in that situation. I felt like they went above and beyond helping me and even called the other boat repair company to confirm the sound is unusual and needs attention that could possibly still be under warranty. As I was leaving the owner noticed my wooden ladder was missing and mentioned to me he had some salvaged ladders I could look through to see if there were any I could use. We found one that would have worked but didnt quite match so unfortunately I had to pass, but wow what a chance. I appreciated the hell out if that offer and took advantage of the chance because the reason mine was missing is because Im currently restoring all the wood ladder and trim peices for my boat. I always wanted a 2nd wooden ladder for the other side if I could find one to match.Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.Id recommend Ship Shape Marine to anyone in need of boat assistance.
Great people! Honest and always willing to help
My experience with ship shape was what everyone that owns a boat is hoping for. Even though these guys and girls are busy and backed up, they are spot on with giving you your individual time and focus. Email is the best way to communicate with them and a recording will tell you that if you call In. I got a quick response in less than one day. All of my questions were answered by Larry and he was very helpful and patient with my amateur DIY work that I’ve done so far. I was able to bring my MC-1 outdrive to them on a Monday. I quickly got a YouTube video of them working on it that day so that I could see what was going wrong with my own eyes. This was followed by another diagnostic video on Wednesday to confirm that I wanted them to replace what I saw going wrong. The outdrive was ready for pick up the next day. Unbelievable service! I will now trust them with any boat services I have in the future.
I was in a tough spot. The electrical on my boat was a hot mess. I called and Larry said if I could get there in the next 30 minutes he could help me out. I flew there and after an an hour everything was fixed. He knows his stuff. He charged me a reasonable price. Saved my bacon. A really great guy who knows how to get it done. Highly recommend this shop. Thanks Larry!
Over all my years, it is very rare that I find a mechanic, especially a marine mechanic, that I feel like I can trust, so finding Larry & Steve at Ship Shape was a true blessing. They know their stuff and they also share great information about the motor, and the issues, going so far as to video record them working on the problem so you can be certain what the problem was and the process of fixing it. I trust them completely and appreciate the fact that they are not only great mechanics, but also great people. I appreciate all they did for me in getting my motor running again. Will not hesitate to take my boat back if I need any service done. They were a blessing to me... Thanks Larry & Steve !
Buying used parts, of any type online can cause one some trepidation. Aside from the cost, there is the fear of faulty or mismatched items being purchased from an unknown person. My experience with Ship Shape proved to be a excellent one. They were responsive, patient, and communicated well throughout the process. The concern about faulty parts was resolved, based on them taking the initiative to check the parts before shipping.Their card is on my bench and will be thego to place for help in the future.
These guys are great I made an appointment, dropped off and picked up same day super pleased thanks.
Best boat repair facility in the mid-state.
Definitely a legit business, I was hesitant just based on reviews & lack of content on their site?? Besides that Larry was great, took our credit card over the phone and we saw the part in only 2 days! Original part was $280, $99 - $118 with shipping. Can’t believe I found this on YouTube?! Get an eBay account guys!!
I recently visited Ship Shape Marine for the first time about a month ago because my boat (that had set idle for about 6 years) would not start. Ship Shape was recommended to me by another marine mechanic who was trying to retire. My boat is very modest compared to some of the big expensive boats that were being worked on the day of my visit. Nevertheless, the owner himself (Larry) met me at the door and within 15 minutes had diagnosed a variety of issues my boat had and suggested a course of action. A few days later I returned to find my boat running like a top and at a very reasonable cost. Any future marine services I need will be made by Ship Shape ….. which I highly recommend!
My husband and I bought a used boat from an individual that had been recently serviced by Larry at Ship Shape Marine in Smyrna, Tn. We called Larry with questions about the boat and he was absolutely great!! He answered all of our questions fully as well as sending us a link to actually see the boat motor running as he was servicing it!! If we need anything done in the future as well as servicing, Larry will be the one to do it!! Would love to give MORE than 5 stars.Dennis & ConnieMount Juliet
Great experience. Good value.
These folks are great. If your looking for boat repairs or advice this is the place. I highly recommend you give them a try. Ive been a satisfied customer for over three years.
It is December and cold. I was getting nervous about the boat. It needed winterizing and the fellow that has serviced it had gone to Florida for the season. What to do? Who to help me? So I looked on line and finally was able to get Ship Shape on the line. I was surprised they could work me in so fast, but I understood soon. They accept and schedule just the work they can complete that day. So bright and early I took my boat from Spring Hill to Smyrna to leave for the day. I was very impressed how thorough they had examined the boat, motor, battery, etc. They alerted me that my new battery was not performing properly and suggested that I take it back and have it checked professionally. I had just bought that new in April and now just a scant 8 months later I was facing a battery problem. They emphasized taking it right away soas to not lose any more warranty. I did that today and indeed it was defective for which I got a credit of $117.00 Come Spring when they De-winterize it I can take a new battery along. The Marine shop is very tidy and organized. The staff is very actively busy and intent on getting the scheduled boats serviced expertly. A detailed print out of performed work was provided at the end of the day and the service mgr went over it with me allowing for my questions to explain carefully everything done. I was very excited to have a staff be so friendly, helpful, and anxious to make my boat serviceable. They actually are enthused to be taking on a new challenge to make it work so the customer can actually go on to the lake with confidence knowing the boat is going to perform and be the source of a happy time on the water. Price was very fair. I am now planning on taking an older fishing v-hull boat and motor for bringing up to snuff. I hope you will give these lads a try, because for me they have my confidence. I went in to buy parts and the old man that runs the place was very condescending and rude. He insulted my knowledge and abilities to do my own repair work and he doesnt even know me. Apparently he thinks he is the only person alive that can work on a boat motor. After he instigated an argument I walked out, even though he had some of the parts. I try to support local business when I can but Im so sick of dealing with rude people that I will just stick to the internet. Its cheaper anyway.
Moved from Florida and sought out Ship Shape to service and Winterize my Robalo. Larry replied to my inquiry right away. Serviced the boat, sent mePictures detailing what they saw, and explained to me some of the details of the operation of the motor and the bilge system. Steve is a detailed technician and Joe also provided some information on the local waterways. Will definitely stick with this team for my boat service needs.
After a frustrating and disappointing experience at another, (mercury certified!), marine shop, I found ship shape. My boat was still not right after two trips and a lot of money at the other place. For one thing, they took me in immediately, despite being backed up. It took about two seconds for them to see a glaring problem that the other place missed. Then, the next day they emailed me a link to YouTube showing video of my engine showing EXACTLY what the problem was and explained exactly what was needed. Larry spent time talking to me and didnt rush to get off the phone. Within days I had my boat back and running better than ever. Best communicators Ive ever encountered, at any type of repair shop! You wont find a better place to deal with if you need marine services. Thanks Ship Shape! .
Very personable, very helpful. Went out of his way to help an inexperienced, novice boater. Knows his stuff. Would definitely recommend
Larry is very knowledgeable and helpful! He was able to find a windshield for a 20 year old boat that I could not find anywhere! His prices are fair and he is very honest! He is also a very funny guy and a great conversationalist. Thanks Larry!
Larry and his guys at Ship Shape are fantastic. Called Larry and told him that I needed service because I havent run my 07 bayliner for a couple years. He told me to bring it in and they would diagnose. The guys got right on it and some repairs were needed. He kept me informed throughout the whole process and even took it on the lake to make sure everything worked correctly. Great customer service! I would take my boat back and recommend others due the same.
I only gave one star because you cant go with negative stars. I received the worse service at this place that I can say ever in my life as a paying adult. I stopped in the lobby as I needed a part for my boat. I waited fifteen minutes and no one came out to the lobby. I then figured they must be working in the back so I called their number. The phone rang and went to voicemail as I could hear the phone while I was standing there in the lobby. I then figured I would walk around the boat lot as surely someone would see me and ask if I needed help. Well...no one approached me. I then went to the garage and asked if someone could assist me in the front. The gentlemen rudely said well what do you want?? I said well I need a part for my jet boat.....and before I could finish the sentence he says...WELL WE DONT WORK ON JET BOATS! I then said please I am not looking for a mechanic I just need a part. He said...AGAIN...WE DONT WORK ON JET BOATS. While he was talking to me another boat mechanic was laughing. I then turned and walked away. I will make sure this is reported to every business review portal that I can. No customer should ever be treated this way.
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE- I took my 80s 60hp Johnson in for service. I was greeted by Larry. He diagnosed my problem, and quoted the repair to me. It was done in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost. I also met Elizabeth, who has professionalism, and a great personality, if you have any parts, billing questions Elizabeth can help you with a smile ! Really, if you live in the Middle TN. area, and need a boat doctor, this is where I highly recommend you take your ill boat. They will deliver it back to you like a new born baby!! HAPPY BOATING. Jack T. BONEFISH
They are Stand up Dudes!! Very knowledgeable & honest would not hesitate a recommendation and future business with them, thanks a lot guys
These folks are always busy, but take the time to treat customers right. Had all parts on hand and gave guidance on installation. A pleasure doing business with Ship Shape.
Larry met us on the side of the highway after hours during a military move. I had already used my first spare earlier in the trip and my roadside assist for boat and trailer of little help. Ship Shapes customer service is undaunting and allowed me to get my family and property safely off the highway. A great Samaritan and boat people to be counted on! Thanks again for your responsiveness and professional courtesy! Keep it up!!!
Attention All Boat Owners!! I would have given them more stars If i could. I have a 1985 Johnson GT 150 V6 that would not go over 1,500 RPMs In the water. I took it to Ship Shape Marine in Smyrna, TN and had the greatest experience. What took me months trying to figure out on my own, they had my boat repaired and ready to go in 3 Hours!! This is a great family owned business with a team that knows boats. I will continue to go to them for all my boat repair needs. I highly recommend them no matter where you are located.
Thank you Larry for always taking care of us! You always tell us the facts and give great advice on any future purchases.. We will continue to rely on your years of experience and knowledge as long as we are boat owners... and if it’s up to my husband .. we always will be!
Very knowledgeable, nice, polite.. got WUT u need
It has been about a year and half since I have used Ship Shape Marine services but I can tell you first hand that Mr. Vincent and his team are great. They know what they are doing and can fix just about any type of marine repair that is required. His team will tell you what you need to fix and what you dont need to fix. Their prices are fair and their work quality is great. I am about to turn my boat in for a boot job (Bellows and Gimbal bearing) and I will tell you that NO one else is allowed to touch my boat. You have a boat problem, stop screwing around and take your boat here to Mr. Vincent!
Very knowledgeable and great service
Took my boat to Larry at Ship Shape Marine just this week. Found them to be professional, courteous, knowledgeable and very efficient. He likes to set up appointments which is ideal so that he can diagnose the problem and get you solutions right in front of you. He had me fixed up and on my way in under 30min. Will definitely be returning. Although, I hope not too soon. The lake is already calling.
I recently visited Ship Shape Marine and I just want to say that the service was excellent. My son and I brought his boat down there because he couldnt get the hydrolic trim to work. Larry was able to run a few tests to identify the problem and get us on our way. He did this in a few minutes while we waited. When I first came to Ship Shape Marine two years ago we were met with very helpful and friendly service. The work they did on the boat motor was excellent we were also given a lot of good information and tips to help us take care of our boat. This was we needed since we were new boat owners at the time. I appreciate the way we were treated. I felt like an old friend when I entered the business.Ron J.
I am very pleased with the honesty, integrity and professionalism at Ship Shape. We are new boat owners had the boat out twice and found out we had a real issue with our motor. We took our boat to Ship Shape the Monday before the Labor Day weekend. Hoping to get it back before the holiday. Nobody else in town would even look at it due to the busy time of year. Larry and his team found a way to see us and allowed us to bring in our boat!! They spent time with us that day to show us what was wrong. During the week they kept me in the loop by sending me videos of everything they found wrong and the repairs they were doing. This could not have been a better experience for us as new boat owners. As long as we are boat owners they will have our business.
Each and every time my brother and I came to Ship Shape Marine, weve been helped with the upmost expertise and professionalism. The folks at Ship Shape Marine are boat gurus! Trust me on that.My brother and I went there one Saturday afternoon, not knowing that theyre closed on the weekends. However, the crew were out in the garage doing extra work on a customers boat and Larry, noticing us, invited my brother and I into the shop! Now, if someone whos willing to welcome customers into the shop and help them, even during after hours, then you know youre in good hands. Ill definitely recommend these guys for ANYONE who has any boat problems or in need of boat parts.
I have been dealing with Larry at Ship Shape for years ....I have always had a great experience whether purchasing a used boat, new parts, service or even getting some used parts from his vast supply of used inventory and saving me a few bucks and having things that are hard to find. Thank you for the great service .....
Cant speak to repairs but just got some replacements for my rather ancient Mercruiser trim cylinders from him and was very happy to get them. He shipped immediately and the parts were in great shape. Put my 41 year old Hydrodyne ski boat back on the water. Was a pleasure to speak to on the phone, very knowledgeable. Thanks Larry!
I recently had Larry and his crew do some troubleshooting and general maintenance on a 33 year old Mariner/Yamaha outboard engine. I was pleased when Larry asked if I could stick around for a few minutes to go through the initial testing and trouble isolation. In no time we had the issues identified as a bad diaphragm in the fuel pump and likely a damaged water cooling impeller. I was concerned the parts would be hard to find for that engine. Before I left, Larry had the parts located and on the way. I was called 24 hours later and the boat was ready! Thanks, Larry!
Great service at a good price
Very courtesy nice Didnt take long at all very good service thank you very much for making my boat run good
These guys do good work at fair prices and they can get you any part you need
WOW! I spoke with Larry and Elisabeth about some marine parts I have been frantically searching for and not only did they have the part I needed at a responsible price, Larry discussed the installation with me for about a hour. I am business owner and let me be honest, most business owners dont have the time to spend an hour on the phone with a customer about installation, but the good ones make the time. I will definitely use ShipShape Marine again!
These guys are awesome! Learn something new everytime I come here. I dont know why anyone would give this place a 1 star!? The guys who run this place are hilarious and awesome people. Their character comes off a bit strong at first and it seems like anyone who gave this place a one star rating are being too overly sensitive about things. Like Oh I waited for 15 minutes in the lobby and got no help from anyone. Like please, theyve got like signs posted everywhere in the lobby to ring a bell if there isnt anyone around in the lobby to help. These guys are knowledgable in their field of works, I would abosolutely recommend their services.
Needed a seat replaced for our 22 year old boat. Larry found one and at a great price. Thanks!
Really great people. They take care of your boat, and have years of experience to give advice if its a project I am trying to do myself.
Great place to go when I need used parts
I ran across ShipShape Marine when I did a search for help with an Evinrude remote unit and, wow, was I impressed. I sent them an email about my problem and a very competent and friendly Larry Vincent responded very quickly and listened to what I had to say (very unusual these days) and immediately offered to help. I ended up sending my unit to ShipShape Marine and also bought another remote as a spare. The repair was done quickly and the cost was very, very reasonable. All throughout this experience, Mr. Vincent kept me up to date on the progress which was greatly appreciated. My only issue is that I wish ShipShape Marine was located near me in Michigan. I highly recommend ShipShape Marine. They are helpful, competent and very nice to work with. ShipShape Marine, I thank you.
Great service, very knowledgeable. If Larry doesnt have a part, he probably knows someone who does.
R. HulettLarry Vincent and the staff at ShipShape are terrific. They are very knowledgeable about anything boat related and they do a good job of explaining things in easy to understand terms. Their integrity was proven when they explained that repairs would not be necessary at this time after doing a complete diagnosis. Larry was also able to see me right away at the time of our appointment and had me finished in a very short time. ShipShape will definitely be my choice for all boat related issues.
Called and got a lot of great info unlike other places. Tks so much.
I bought a propeller. The manager Larry over charged me,This is our first time with a boat so I didnt know any better, was on internet to install and found it for way cheaper,I called Larry to tell him. He said I should have bought it there. If I would have known he was going to rip me off. I would have bought it online!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always on the money. They do a great job.
Extremely nice and helpful people. Will be recommending.
The worst service experience of my life. Clearly not a mechanic, if your looking for mechanical knowledge or diagnosis this is NOT your spot, maybe OK for an oil change or winterization. I took my boat in for a winterization and oil change (starting and running properly) and left without the starter engaging (unable to crank over the engine) and he didnt know how to correct the starter problem and his explanation was that he was not a God. I took the boat to another shop within an hour of leaving Ship Shape and the technician immediately recognized the starter issue and the boat was running in 5 minutes (without a starter change). I paid the guy for the oil change, without getting the engine winterized because his winterization method requires the boat to be running and he didnt have the expertise to diagnose the starter issue. Just a horrible experience.
Ship Shape is the best in the business as far as Im concerned! They have serviced/repaired both my boats and will continue to do so as long as I am a boat owner.
Very unhelpful, will never go back
Larry was so helpful and knowledgeable, will definitely be a returning customer!
Helped with repair on my Yamaha outboard motor thanks for the help
These guys know what theyre talking about with boats!
Good place for boat parts
Get customer service
Great guys service is a+++++
Bring treats for the shop dog!
