We are visiting Atlanta for a wedding and decided to venture to the Silver Comet Trail for a bike ride. The closest bike rental place we could find near the trail was this place. None of the rental bikes have baskets save one —. 3 speed Electra townie that I had only front brakes which I thought was strange. Bike quality was ok — definitely an old bike but serviceable. The employee who helped us gave pretty lousy directions to get to the trail and when I suggested later that they should really provide a little map as the path is not at all clear they seemed very defensive. My husband came back after an hour but the guy wanted to charge us both for two hours and then after I pointed out that he saw my husband return he said he’s do us a favor and give us the credit for an hour. This is BS because he only used the bike for an hour so this was not a favor. The whole experience was not great and I would not recommend this place.
Never been so disappointed by service & staff that I felt the need to rate a shop poorly but want to make sure you don’t make the same mistake I did to spend your time or money dealing with this business.I openly voiced my concern with the experience to the supposedly top mechanic in front of the owner but yet the owner had no admiration to step in to alleviate the poor quality of work & pure incompetence of his worker.Between treating your bike with no respect & not trying to fix what was wrong their solution is to try and sell you on a full component instead because they have no clue how to work on bikes.Sloppy shop & the owner should be ashamed for not caring enough about his own business.
I needed a complete rebuild on my bike. The experience was great from start to finish. I was very satisfied with their work.
Super knowledgeable and friendly service. Took a used bike here I bought off FB to get back road ready. Quick and affordable!
The staffs are very knowledgeable and helpful, now I know what kind of bike I will buy!
Amazing folks. Very capable and remarkably affordable.
Very helpful. Thanks
Good experience here.
Great experience, great rental bike, great prices, great location! Thanks a lot!
Helpful staff, I was buying bike from private owner and not their inventory but supported me nonetheless
Went in with the intent to rent a road bike for a week for the purpose of determining if it’s something that I felt like I would enjoy.I clearly stated my intent and began to ask typical questions. Without answering any of them I was quickly told to just “rent this road bike”.When I went to pay the price was double what the person had said multiple times. I chose not to bother with it and left with the bike. The bike was very dirty and it was clear that no upkeep of any kind occurs between rentals.Later that day I hit the silver comet. Once I got into high gear the bike made gear noise with every revolution of the pedal. This was annoying as I felt like I wasn’t getting the true experience I was after.I was originally debating between a hybrid and road bike. I asked if it would be okay if I came back mid week and switched for a hybrid. I offered to pay the full week at the road bike price to be able to do this. I was stated that that would be no issue at all. When I called back to do this I spoke to someone new on the phone and they recommended that I just keep the road bike as I would like it much better. After I reexplained my intent that I was renting to determine what I wanted to eventually buy I was told okay it’s fine to swap but just call back in the morning as I don’t have any hybrids now and don’t know what I’m getting back tonight at 5. No offer to hold something or anything even somewhat accommodating. I didn’t swap back out. When I returned the bike I was asked how everything went from the original salesperson. I mentioned the gear noise and before I could finish he said you mean in the handlebar area? I said no and then finished my sentence. His response then was Oh, but other than that, good. I smirked and said yeah.I was really hoping to have a good experience with a local small business as I value that deeply. These people plaster all over their website about all the benefits of buying from a bike shop rather than a department store. Unfortunately, the bar was missed several times during my experience.
Bought my Giant mountain bike from them. I have brought two times back for fine tuned, and Tom and crew have been delightful. I highly recommend them.
They have fantastic customer service. One of the guys taught me how to ride a bicycle for the first time. I really enjoyed my first-time experience there and cant wait to go back next time.
I called ahead to this place with a simple inventory question to make sure they had what I wanted before I drove 30 min to the shop. The guy who answered assured me they had options for me. When I arrived they didn’t have anything close to what I was looking for. Careless staff.
Great little shop! Fixed my flat in 5 minutes. Nice selection of bicycles too
The guys are excellant at taking care of my bike. They always explain what needs to be done.
Love this shop... the owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Very fair pricing and honest inspections to keep you pedaling.
Great and fast service... Thanks
Just had an outstanding experience with these folks. I was riding on the Silver Comet and something went wrong with my bike so I found these guys nearby and they took care of me right away, looked at my bike, sorted out the problem and I was out the door in 15 min. Really grateful they were there and open on a Sunday afternoon.
Always been a great place to get a quick fix, or even a big one. Theyve been a real gem to the neighborhood.
Very pleased with repair work. Brought Tom a shifter that another shop couldnt repair and he fixed it quickly. Very knowledgeable. So I bought a bike here and have gotten excellent service.
I recently had my bike serviced at this location. Im absolutely horrible with names, but I finished my visit with one of the owners.I must say the guys here are all top notch. There were two bike techs working when I dropped off my bike and they were busy with what they were doing so they didnt get distracted. I needed a bottom bracket swap and had a new crank in box....They told me, man Im going to need a good day to work on your bike... I completely understood. They called me that evening that my bike was ready! I was blown away.Btw. Other stores around, one being a bigger box Outdoor store wanted 2-3 weeks. I love the small feel of this store...this Covid junk is making things difficult because I like to just browse around, its hard to do when you have 2 other guys outside waiting to do the same.Thank you for an awesome visit. I will see you guys again!CaseyGustov, thank you again for your help this morning. 😇
Got a great giant mountain bike at a great price. Plus they will make all the necessary adjustments on the bike for free when you buy it here! Good people good service! If you dont like them your probably a communist!
Great service. Answered all my questions. I just bought a bike a brought in on to get a tire.
They were great....took care of the problem very fast. Saved me a lot of money. The bike shop down in vinnnings told me I needed a new bike....thank you smyrna bicycles!
I absolutely Love their customer service, knowledge and bikes. After extensive research and 1 visit my husband and I purchased my Liv Rove bicycle. Being this is my 1st time riding in over 20 years I wanted to make sure we purchased from a local shop to help me through my newbie trial. The guys there are wonderful and extremely attentive. Last week I stopped by with questions and a bike check-up. Highly recommend this location for your next purchase or accessories.
Super friendly and helpful!
Technical expertise, nice people, good prices. Excellent service!!!
Had a little mishap with my bike, thought I was going to need a new wheel. Friendly staff was able to assess the situation, make some tweaks, and have me back in the saddle. Gotten my cycling supplies (tubes, tires, whatever) here for years, wouldnt have it another way!
My wife and I have lived in Smyrna for about one year, and one of the reasons we moved from East Cobb, was access to the SCT. Once I discovered this very convenient bike shop I was impressed with both the level of expertise and customer service-hence my 5 star rating. The folks over there are awesome and I plan to do much more business with them in the future. They have also, numerous times, given gratis adjustments to my rode bike, as I was tooling down the street and something unexpected happened. Great shop, and nice folk!
Tom was really helpful with my bike, picked it up, got it fixed and brought it back - the rate charged was more than reasonable. Support this business!
Needed a quick fix to my front tire. They fixed that and touched up the brakes in 10 min and the prices are great. Will definitely be back for any services in the future
As we have only been here 3 weeks, we were looking to invest a few thousand dollars toward bikes. The bikes in this store are not marked as to if they are customer bikes, new, used, etc.. We looked at one particular bike as were amazed at the light weight feel and were quickly reprimanded by a staff member as to not touch the bike. He stated it belonged to a customer, although we touched it. We werent going ride off into the sunset on this particular bike. We wouldnt recommend buying a bike here, I would go elsewhere. We want people that would be kind when wanting to invest such a large amount of money.
Since the move, my wife and I have been looking for a good bike shop. These guys are great!
I took my bike in for service in anticipation of riding a zillion miles after the bike had been sitting in the garage for a couple of years. I assumed Id need to replace tires, tubes, etc. The super nice guy at Smyrna Bicycles did a 10 minute check, pumped up tires, oiled the chain, checked the gears and installed my new bell. All that for $10! They dont try to sell you things you dont need (I NEEDED the bell). So if youre driving or walking in Smyrna and you hear my bell, look out and jump out of the way! My bike skills arent what they used to be but Ill get better!
Nice clean shop with very knowledgeable and friendly staff.I took my wifes bike for a quick tune up ($45) and now it rides like a dream, if youve never done a tune up, you have to do it - its totally worth it.They rent bikes to go in the silver comet trail (Good Giant brand bikes) and the bikes they sell are very good brand at affordable prices.
Very reasonable rental rates. Convenient location to hop on The Silver Comet Trail. Will definitely use this shop again in the future.
Talented bike mechanics willing to help out with big or little fixes. They can service a high-line competitive road bike or your beater. Quick turnaround and friendly service, cheaper than most too.
Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have a great selection of bike to buy or rent.
I called and came by to get my right shifter looked at. I was told by Atlanta Cycling (Vinings) that I needed a new one along with a derailleur. Well to my surprise all I needed was an adjustment. Voila! Shifter and derailleur working like new! I am overly pleased with this shop and now a devoted customer! I highly recommend this shop!
Very poor service unless you are buying an expensive new bike. Dont go to service your bike or if you need to buy an accessory, they wont make any efforts. Very unfriendly. Dont go here !!!!
Friendly guys, excellent service and great expertise is what sets them apart. They have been around for a long time and know what they are doing.
Ordered a bike directly from Giant. Got to the shop in 4 days, and assembled it without even asking. Even installed a kickstand for me in 5 minutes. Very friendly staff.
Super, and I mean, SUPER helpful. Very knowledgable and friendly staff theyll help you get just what you need at a competitive and reasonable price. They also have everything you could probably think of to get for your bike!
Professional and friendly service. The staff serviced my sons bike and also passed on very useful maintenance tips moving forward. Good price and quick turnaround.
Very reasonable prices on repairs and got me back on the road in a few minutes. Very friendly staff. Not far from silver comet. Id go back for sure.
Very poor service unless you are buying an expensive new bike. Dont go to service your bike or if you need to buy an accessory, they wont make any efforts. Very unfriendly.
Super helpful! Explained everything very well. No up sells. A+
Wonderfully helpful staff pointed me toward the perfect bike! I have a recurring injury, and the gentleman in the store listened to my concerns, and he even customized the bike for me to make braking easier!
Went there to get my fiances bike fixed. We stood in there for 20 minutes before we were even greeted. Then the older guy working on the bike had the worst attitude. All we wanted was a new back tire. He was huffing and puffing and rolling his eyes. We took our bike and left. Went didnt get the bike fixed, but we found someone else who would. Terrible customer service.
Pretty small shop, seems to focus on rentals instead of sales. Staff was helpful when I was looking for pedals.
I went here after some idiots at Georgia Tech royally messed up my derailleurs. I called ahead and showed up an hour later to meet the man Id spoken with on the phone. He was very kind and immediately threw my bike on a stand and fixed things for free (even though it was supposed to cost $10). He recommended a nearby Trek dealer for me to get a new cassette. Very nice, small shop!
Knowledgeable and friendly, got me set up with a new tire and tube in no time flat.
Rented two bicycles from here to ride on the Sliver Comet Trail. The prices here are more reasonable than the competing shops on the trail. Although the bike itself was a little banged up. If youre looking for a loaner to get some exercise on the trail I recommend this shop.
Nice people here. Shop local my dudes.
Convientantly located near the bike trail. Only about 1.6 miles away, but its a hell of a ride back by bike if you havent rode a bike in while lol The staff was friendly and encouraging. The rental bikes were ok, the establishment was clean, and the prices were reasonable and fair. Will be back when attempting the Silver Comet again ☺️
Very helpful, very easy to rent bikes to ride on the Silver Comet Trail.
Brought my bike in for a flat tire. They fixed it while I waited, checked that everything else was in good condition, and even helped me put it back on my bike rack! Great service here!
Went in a few times before making a purchase. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Also, the prices seemed very fair. Would do business with again.
Friendly knowledgeable staff
Good services and comparable prices to other bike shops along the Silver Comet Trail. Located right at the start of the 1 mile SCT extension. When I bought a pump, they installed it for me without adding to the price.
Im new to riding a road bike - Ive ridden a heavy hybrid for the last three years, but got tired of being slow so I bought a Cannondale. And at first, I was going to a bike shop near my house. But after they kept insisting I needed this glove or that seat or my cleats moved forwards and the issues I was having riding werent fixed, I went elsewhere. Smyrna Bicycles set me up with a fitting with Tom, something that *should* have been done by the other shop and wasnt. Tom was extremely nice to me, and took his time explaining things and making sure I was fit properly to my new bike. He raised my handlebars, set them more forward, and helped me figure out what was wrong with my shoes (they were too small, boo on the other shop for selling me a pair that were really too small because I didnt know better). Everyone working here was nice to me - they made me feel comfortable, versus feeling like they just wanted my money. 10 of 10 would send anyone here for anything dealing with cycling.
They always take care of me at a good price. Have had multiple emergencies that they have fixed, e.g. RD adjust, flat repair, etc.
I thought the part I needed would be expensive, it wasnt. I thought the repair would take my entire lunch break, it took 5 minutes. Im overly pleased with my experience at this bike shop!
Really friendly service and reasonable.
Great guys, great service, local shop, Giant bikes.. What more do you need to know!
We went to the bike shop to get my tube replaced. I locked the keys in the car, I had no cell phone or money. They really went above and beyond to put up with us hanging outin their store, and using their business line. Once the situation was resolved, they replaced the tube in a few minutes, for a few dollars, and we were on our way. Thanks, guys!
Very fast service and affordable.
Best in the ATL, both sales and repair... GREAT FOLKS
Great service
As a former professional bike mechanic I was disappointed by the attitude of the gentleman I dealt with in this shop. I went a block down the street and got better service at half the price.
Very quick and prices are reasonable.
The guys are very helpful
Love the shop and the people.
Cool.
RUDE RUDE RUDE OLD MAN TERRIBLE SERVICE.
It is a suitable place well located and the people are kind in giving customer service for that reason I give them 5 stars.
