They were rude... Walked around from me when I was asking a question. Wanted to purchase but decided to spend my money some place else with good manners and customer service skills

For roughly 10 yrs. Ive been shopping at Joy Beauty Supply. They always have everything that Im looking for, they have a very clean store, fully stocked, and have very reasonable prices. They are always my 1st choice when going to a bss. They are very nice and always helpful.🙂

Dear Black Brothers and Sisters,Stop shopping here. They do not appreciate nor respect our black dollars. The store closes at 8 pm. I had 10 mins left to before the shop I asked about a wig he yells, “no we are closed.” I was already in the store and made a purchase. I was not looking to browse through wigs I asked for a specific one.Other black women were shopping he continues to yell. We are the only ones keeping this business afloat. Until they appreciate and understand our buying power stop shopping here!

I wish I could leave no stars! Owner basically tried to over charge me (double) for the Bobbi Boss Remy hair $285 per pack. I simply asked why the hair was priced so HIGH ? He then asked me to leave the store. He refused to help me. I went right up the street and found the same hair for half the price he wanted. Bad business to try to get over on customer👎🏽

Older lady charged me $21+ for Shea Moisture Strength & Restore Treatment Masque that was priced $14.99. This price was validated by the man stocking the shelves. However, this female insisted it was $21+ and refused to acknowledge the advertised price. This stuff is no more than $13.99 on average. Check the listed price with what you were charged and know the average price of your purchase! Or simply, DON’T SHOP HERE! I returned the product and purchases elsewhere at $ 11.99! I suggest to go around the corner on Cumberland to Elite Beauty Supply. It’s large; has everything and the people there are very nice and helpful.

One of the women there has a bad attitude problem. I wanted a refund do to bad service and didnt notice the no refund on my receipt. I paid in cash and it seem to be hard for them to take it out there register. When Im there I spend a good average of 40+ $ I will not be shopping there any more.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Purchased a $500 wig and was told it was 100% Human Virgin hair. The next day it started matting/tangling. False advertising is illegal. Owner will not give a refund, but will allow me to return the wig for another one. Uhhh...no thank you! I want my money back. 😡

I appreciate that this beauty supply store is very well organized. Nothing is picked over or out of place. All products by a certain maker are grouped together so you can easily find what youre looking for. The aisles were nicely spaced so it didnt feel overly packed or tight inside. I bought a new wig and spent about 45 minutes in here. Most stores follow customers around pressing a sale or accuse them of stuff. This was the opposite. Completely hospitable. I had a lot of questions about wig application. They walked me through products for my wig & color treated natural hair. Will definitely be back. Good prices, sales and discounts also for reviews.

Joy Beauty Supply is the only beauty supply store I’ve shopped at since I arrived in Atlanta in March 2017. Whether it’s something quick and synthetic or something durable that I can truly be creative with, they’ve always been my go-to. I’m sure the staff can name me as one of their familiar faces.

Came in 10 mins before closing and was given excellent service while selecting my wig. The young lady that assisted us was informative and polite. From what I saw, their selection was extensive for long and short wigs. I was able to get a 10% discount for the display wig I liked. I will definitely be returning in the future; just not right before closing...promise ;^).

Well I went to get one product which they didnt have but made a new discovery about all kinds of beauty products for hair and body. I purchased an alternative product and discovered barber shears, curling/flat irons, curlers, hair rollers, beard trimmers, hair relaxer, hair conditioner/shampoo, barrettes, hair bands, hand mirrors, combs, brushes, afro picks. You name it; they got it! Ill definitely go there to buy hair clippers soon. I was assisted promptly and with knowledgeable enthusiasm; what more could I ask for!

Nice clean and a helpful staff. I went in the other day and I see theyve increased their inventory, so now they have a few more products that they didnt usually carry so happy about that because this place is closer to home and its in a plaza with so many other stores so I can get all my shopping done in one location. Let me also make mention that if you like wigs they have a decent wig selection, however their wigs are a little bit more pricier that what Ive seen in other locations.

Update 3 months later this store still does not adhere to their posted hours. Poor business practice SMHAwful service. I pulled up 4 minutes before closing time, I just needed one pack of braiding hair.... But the doors were locked and lights were off. The owner ( an Asian lady ) sat in her truck and watched me try to get help and just drove off. I literally just drove here from Texas and start my first day of work tomorrow. I am desperate and she couldn’t care less

Update: Gave the store another chance, only this time I was literally stalked the entire time I was in there. First off the black girl is too big to not be seen. Literally every aisle I was on, she was there. I was trying to shop for my clients for the rest of the week, waiting on responses from them and the entire time have to be uncomfortable. Guess I will stick to Elite Beauty Supply store. They’re literally right around the corner, has more selection and are always friendly. I spend over $1,000 a month on beauty supplies, I believe they’ll appreciate my money more.I have literally came here twice within the last week to the store being closed although they have 9:30 as their opening time. A waste of my time and made me late having to go search for another store. Won’t be back

Ive been shopping here for years! As a beauty and hair professionals, I appreciate the selection of products they have on hand and their willingness to assist you with finding everything you need. Its a small store, but its packed with a variety of everything.

I really hate the fact that they have that huge TV in the middle of the store to monitor everything. I understand it, but as a law abiding citizen it pisses me off. Also, if youre going to cater to Black and Brown people try being nicer. Customer service is everything especially with small businesses . They have a lot of products and I guess a pretty decent wig selection for those that wear them. Just work on not being racist ass clowns 🤡 when a Brown or Black person comes in.

Loved everything about this store until one of the employees ( maybe the wife of owner) decided to stalk me down the ENTIRE time making me feel very uncomfortable. I had already informed her that I had been helped (by a nice gentleman who was cleaning windows) and that I was just browsing until I came across a wig I liked. She stands less than 5 ft away from my fiancé and I just doing the Im just organizing random items routine the ENTIRE time. I only have it a one star because of the quality of hair they have. But I will not or never purchase anything from here!!!

The bottom line is customer service and products...both are lacking. I havent met one person that worked there that was willing to help when asked a question. They treat black (minorities) people as thieves and they seem not to want us to shop in their store...I wish there was a better selection of beauty supply stores in this area but until one opens Ill wait until the weekend and drive to the other side of town where shop owners appreciate the customers regardless of their skin color. OMG! Not to mention that one of the employees is always on the outside of the door smoking!!! How gross is that?? I wish I could give zero stars!!!

This store has everything you need for hair and makeup. However, when I asked for assistance one woman was very rude and kept calling me honey and was not fluent in English. Her behavior was not professional and after enduring her behavior for several minutes, I asked her to please get someone who could answer my questions about their products. She made me feel very bad as a frequent customer. Nonetheless, the young man at the register was polite and so was the lady who ended up helping me.

Horrible they watched me the entire time I was there it was uncomfortable the sign on the window says sale but nothing was on sale and they were not friendly

Very disappointed with the service. We pur based a wig from Joy for my daughters senior pictures, but the wig frayed down the part in 2 days. We immediately to the wig back for them to give e us a replacement, but the manager refused. He went on to say that he would contact the company in China to see if they would give him a credit for the wig and that would take 2-3 weeks. I told him that I was going to write a review about their poor service and he got angry and slung the wig on the counter. WOW! I thought that was pretty darn rude. I pushed the wig back over to him gently and told him that I would be back & keep the wig. Heres the kicker, I did some research and guess what...the wig company is in New Jersey! I went back picked up the wig and the company is going to send me a new one. NO MORE SHOPPING AT JOY BEAUTY SUPPLY!!

Your standard beauty supply store. The prices are reasonable. Small wig selection with big price tags. I saw a wig that I wantes and it was 69.99 in this store, looked up on Amazon and bought it for 33.99. So just be mindful of that.

Unwarranted, rude customer service. Regardless of any language barrier from staff, this business serves majority black and brown community, yet treat customers rudely and with obvious suspicion and irritation from the moment you walk through the door. My dollars wont be wasted here again.

I am giving 1 star because it is the required​ in order to submit my review. In less than a month I spent a quite a bit of money on 3 human hair wigs. The first 2 I wore were amazing. The third one was beyond aweful. It is supposed to be Remy, but it did not seem like high end Remy hair and it is the most expensive one that I bought of the 3. Let me just say, I worked at a high end salon 5 years. In addition I have worn extensions and wigs for a long time. I know very well how to maintain them. To continue: before 1 week of wear, it began to tangle and matte. Today marks 1 week and 2 days. I shampooed once with Aveda shampoo and Motions conditioner 2 days ago. And I did deep condition. With human hair, I dont like to​ use product and if I do its very little as I do not want to weigh the hair down and have a ton of build up (With good hair tons of product is not necessary). I take units off at night and put them back on the morning of the next day. (However, I do have a fantastic wig that I sewed on for a vacation and it is still great without tangles.) First I called about 3 times to talk to someone and no answer. Well I work and live in Cumming so it is not necessarily a quick trip and I needed something done ASAP. Needless to say, I went to the store today to let the manager on duty (a man) know about my experience with this unit. He listened and proceeded to tell me he couldnt do anything and come back tomorrow. Well I took a 2 hour extended lunch and cannot just do that everyday. In addition, I have grad school classes after work and 3 upcoming events this weekend and wanted to wear this unit as I love the style. We went back and forth and the customer service was repulsive. He asked me what brand it was and I told him the name and asked him if I could show him the one on display​ and he continued by telling me he does not work back in that section and would not even try to go and look at it. I told him I am not even asking for my money back and am willing to buy something else at a discount. He declined. He kept repeating come back tomorrow to see my wife. I explained that I cannot come back. He didnt​ seem to care. I asked him once more if there was anything he could do considering he is a manager. He shrugged and said come back. I am disgusted with this service and will NEVER spend a dime here again. I waisted hundreds on a bad grade of hair and the manager did not even care. I went next door to beauty depot where they took great care of me and I purchased another unit. I will be loyal to them from here on out. As you all can see I am extremely angry!

Was actually willing to answer questions so I made a purchase that first visit. Since that visit, I walk in and have been reminded every time why I do not want to give them a dime of my money.This past visit I was looking for a fairly inexpensive wig for a gig. The older women that was working in the wig section literally acted as if my questions and my needs were bothering her beyond control. To the point where asking what other colors they had stocked of a particular unit came with ZERO response even though she was looking right at me. We were less than two feet away from each other. I asked to see a couple wigs and she let me see them for a total of 30 seconds (not joking) before snatching them out of my hands. I literally turned around to let someone walk by and by the time I turned back the two wigs I was considering were back on their shelves.When I went to try on a wig she seemed shocked that MY hair was my own hair (she asked me to take off my wig?!?! lmfao) and made a comment that “your hair must not grow” (wth?!? Black hair does grow you simple minded bigot) and when I told her I purposely cut my hair short, comments with a “hmph I’m sure” OMG. I’ve never experienced so much bigotry in under five minutes. It’s like they researched every stereotype of Asian beauty store owners and are following it like its their employee handbook smh. I promptly stood up and left.
