Great place for local things. While the wife and I are travelling this great country looking for the hottest hot sauce for my dad as he uses it like most people use ketchup and it doesnt bother him a bit. Until now. We found some hot sauce recommended by the young lady called one f@#$ drop at a time. Dad tried it and said it is a good hot hot sauce. So kudos Bayou Country Store. You have the top hot sauce verified by a hot sauce expert.
Cute store with lots of great local food and craft souvenirs. Its a little back from the interstate, but easily accessible from all vehicles and they do have a kitchen and make a lot of the items they sell there fresh daily. Worth a trip on your way to/from New Orleans.
Great little store to find some fun and tasty Louisiana-style trinkets and food. Grab up some Cajun mayonnaise when you stop by, get the large jar, youll love it!
I come to Bayou Country every time I come to NOLA and I love the friendly staff, the Praline Candy and the list goes on. Im so happy they are now open on Sundays from 11-3.
Once you figure out how to get there from highway( very poor signage), alot of cool, overpriced Cajun souvenirs. That aside, I felt like the two employees (perhaps the owners? An older man and woman) behind register were watching me as I browsed to catch me shoplifting. When I checked out, to validate my feeling, the man made a comment that they take pictures of guest as they come in. Will never go back nor recommend to anyone.
Really good pralines. Best cajun mayo made only at Bayou Country. Very kind staff. Very disappointed in condition of the building. This used to be my favorite place to buys gifts for out of town guests. It would be embarrassing to bring out of town guests with condition of building.
I didnt buy anything today, but will definately be returning. Neat shop, with unique gift items. They were very friendly and helpful, giving me ideas on places to go in the area.
Love this place! You have to try the cajun mayonnaise and the pralines. We are also addicted to the rum sauce thats made daily. There are lots of other cajun food, decorative and novelty items to buy. Youll spend most of your time browsing to make a decision on which items to get.
General store with nice variety of local specialties. Fresh pralines made daily however no real food to speak of. Cafe was small and closed when we visited.
Quirky, kitchy, adorable. Great selection of souvenirs and regional food items. Hot sauces galore!! As well as T-shirts, magnets, toys, posters, CDs, and whatever else you need as proof you visited Louisiana. Well worth the stop!
They are perma ently closed, store completely empth and filledwith trash inside. I guess they went out of business recently and without warning so sad!
Seafood and sausage jambalaya was great! Sandwiches come panini style and are stacked with meat. General store is pretty much just chotchkies, but I spent some time browsing the sauces and they are all made in the southern US. Praline bar looks pretty great, but we were full from lunch and opted out. Cute spot, easy access from Interstate 12.
Always stop here when its open for my wife and mother in-law. Friendly staff and nice selection of pralines. Also, plenty of souvenirs.
Nice place to get holiday gifts for your out of town friends and family. They can make up any kind of basket you want.
This place is so great everything Louisiana is possibly under one roof
We went several years back and had a great experience. Disappointed that they are not open on Sundays. Usually, like stopping to relax and look around especially for there pralines. Oh well, will have to stop somewhere else.
Great place for décor or gifts with Louisiana flavor. Easy to loose hours without even realizing it. The place is clean and the sweets are delectable.
Fun place to visit. Like a piece of the French Market outside of the French Quarter.
My most favorite store ever!!! Just sorry they dont advertise more!!! Lady behind the counter that makes the pralines is awesome!!!!!
Weve been stopping at this store on our way out of town for several years. Its kind of a last hoorah and stop for souvenirs, seasonings, etc.Friendly and helpful staff, clean restrooms, and delicious pralines.
Great little shopping venue. Once the Grill reopens....additional stars will be added.
Quaint store. Staff was helpful and was able to answer questions about local places and events.
Excellent pralines! Great place to find an unusual gift from the bayou.
Cool stuff family friendly nice people all around great experience
The creamy original pralines are fantastic! Bought the red beans and rice kit for my dad and he loved it!
Friendly and happy people with warm smiles and a very nice shop with lots of interesting things. Delicious pralines.

Great gifts for visitors and cure NOLA items for my home.

Cute but sad for today is their last day to be Open...
Cute local knick knack store. Great to pickup those quenticental Lousiana/Nola gifts.
A neat assortment of things, but you can get most of them on amazon for much cheaper
A little pricey but the praline is great!
We love this place!!Great gifts, goodies & great people!
Nice people, high prices (as expected). Clean and no e building.
Great place to go for souvenirs, but a little pricey.
Had nice cook books for Cajun cooking.
The best place you can go for real southern things. Very friendly.
If you cant find any lousianna/cajun souvenirs in this shop to buy then you are hopelessly out of luck, this shop has everything.
Awesome fresh pralines and lots of other Cajun souvenirs
Fun store with lots of great items and pralines!
Great little store with lots of Cajun Flair!
Stinkys Oyster Bar, extra funky!
Super fun. nice store.
Great place for souvenirs, fresh pralines, and southern seasonings
Lists of unusual items. Very high priced
Did not eat here. The lady at the restaurant was complaining about roaches in her purse that she dumped on the floor. we walked out. Pictures were nothing more than photographs for $20. Everyone was friendly though...just a tourist trap.
Great local gift store. Friendly staff.
Always great to bring family visiting.
The best turtles candy and pecan brittle around.
Expensive! Im kicking myself for not doing all the shopping in New Orleans. Its 15.00 for the kids shirt thats 4.95 in nola.
Fun store to buy tacky things and pralines. Wish they still had the restaurant open
Lots of tourists item, friendly people, need to go just to see everything
Best Pralines ever.
Very Nice Country Store with High Prices
Friendly staff and a huge selection of all kinds of various things
Hsd everything but quite expensive.
Good for out of towners
Kind of a tourist trap but we was glad we stopped
Such a cool place!
Rum pralines are delicious!!
Overpriced tourist trap of the worst kind.
It sucked and the people are extremely rude
Clean store, friendly staff.
