While the furniture is beautiful, I can’t recommend this business because of my experience. Communication is extremely lacking and delivery to New Orleans area is very unreliable. We purchased a dining table and bench in 2019. It looks wonderful and we love it. However, in Oct 2020 the bench completely fell apart while someone was sitting on it. I immediately contacted Abby through Facebook - she was very apologetic and offered to replace the bench. Great! We brought it in that weekend. 7 weeks went by and no word from anyone on when it would be ready, so I followed up on 12/5. I was told it would be finished the next week and delivered back to us. 12/13 - nothing, so I followed up again and was told it would be delivered that week. The weekend passed, and no bench. 12/23 - followed up again and was told it would come that same day. With no notice and it being the weekend of Christmas, we had plans to be out of town so we couldn’t be there to have it delivered. 1/15 - followed up again with no response. 1/21 - followed up again and was told it would come that weekend between 10-2. We cancelled our plans and stayed home that day only to receive a call at 2pm that the bench fell over in the delivery truck and the top had to be repaired. 1/30 - was told bench would be delivered between 9-10am. We were out of town, so we sent our in-laws to the house to wait for them.10am passed and no bench so I called and was told they went to Baton Rouge first and would be there at noon. Sometime that afternoon, bench was FINALLY delivered. 15 weeks later.I understand that this is a small, family run company and I’ve tried to be understanding of that, but at some point there is no excuse for the the level of inattentiveness we experienced. I hope that they are able to address these problems and continue to grow their business; however, I won’t be purchasing anything else and would not recommend to family or friends.
Promised and Purchased End Tables That Never Transpired - Purchased two (2) simple end tables on 12/29 to be built in 6 weeks. Today 03/06 after two (2) unanswered left phone call messages and one (1) text message. I went to store front to understand the status of our order. I was provided information that the owner just purchased land in Mississippi and has been focused on the land not my order. She further expressed that she has asked her shop several times on status of order with no answer and simply stated that I can go to the shop for an update. I was offered a refund or a promise for the tables to be ready by this coming Saturday. Based on this transaction, I opted for the refund. The quality of the furniture is good and this was not our first purchase. I highly recommend the following,Store Owner - Focus on your business to ensure the commitments you make are kept and respond to left messages so the consumer is informed and not left in the dark.Consumers - Purchase items already built in showroom floor. The Quality is great / service is poor on orders.
Love my table. communication was iffy. fine otherwise.
I can’t LOVE Southern Farmhouse enough!!! Frank is amazing he can truly build anything I find and as a designer it’s priceless plus it’s built to last!!! True craftsmanship. Abby is such a pleasure to deal with and extremely helpful all the time!!! So much better than ordering furniture from a foreign company!!! Again just LOVE them!!❤️
Where do I start? I am on my second table from Frank & Abby at Southern Farmhouse and Furniture! Both of my tables are beautifully handcrafted lifetime tables that I will be able to pass on from generation to generation. Abby made the design process super easy. She even mailed me samples of the finishes so I could decide what matched my decor the best. Throughout the process I got to know the LaCourses’ a little better and really appreciate their hard work running a small business. They are a veteran owned small business and they are both raising their two grandchildren. Such a great family owned business to deal with. These tables are hand made and the wood is picked piece by piece so the timing does take a little while but I can vouch that once you get the furniture it will definitely be worth the wait!
What an amazing family owned business. I visited their showroom in Slidell & Abby helped me from start to finish with my order. My custom table was built by hand & I loved it from the moment I saw it. I also got matching chairs, rugs & lighting from them too! I would highly recommend them if your looking for a custom table or furniture!
My husband & I found this place on Google & was so excited that we had a local furniture maker! We walked through the store, looked at all the options, walked some more.... we eventually decided on our table. Ordered in Oct (mid) & as promised our table was delivered right before Thanksgiving. So far we are very pleased with the table & matching bench (chairs were bought at another location). We never had an issue with Customer Service & even got to tour the workshop when we requested. All in all we will be buying other items from this store (love supporting local business) & would recommend this store to others. Oh & the prices are EXTREMELY reasonable!
Great service and product. Great prices for handmade furniture. Highly recommend.
I really wish there were negative stars that I could give. Do not buy anything from here. I placed an order February 4, 2019 for table, six chairs and a mud piece. I was told it would take 6-8 weeks to complete. My order was finally completed in October 2019. Not once did I get a call saying my order would be late. I had to call several times in which I got different excuses. Do youself a favor and find a retailer who values customer service and most of all our business.
The furniture at this store is incredible! My table and cabinets came out perfect!
Amazing hand-made furniture produced right here in southeast Louisiana by true craftsman. Well worth the trip to their huge factory and showroom, right off the highway in Slidell.
Terrible experience, we purchased a dining table and chairs from Southern Farm house furniture. I have 3 young kids so when we were in the market for a new table we knew we wanted something that could withstand pretty much anything as this would be the table we would be using daily with our young children. When I found a table that we were considering on purchasing Abby repeatedly told me that this table could withstand anything! She said it would be the perfect table for my needs and would not leave water ring marks, scratches, etc. I wanted to make sure I didn’t get a table that constantly left water rings bc like I said I have 3 young kids that aren’t exactly the neatest eaters. I was convinced this table would be durable and fit our needs. I then picked out chairs, we picked 6 chairs then 2 end cap chairs but the legs on these chairs were dark wood and Abby told me it would be an easy fix to have the color match my other chairs. So, we went ahead and felt more than comfortable purchasing the table, chairs, and matching barstools. Well, after purchase she informed me the end cap chairs could not be painted to match my other chairs after all or she said she could have it done but couldn’t guarantee them to match. This was problem number 1 and I just let it go bc it ended up not being an eye soar when the set was in my dining room. What do you know, within 2 weeks I have spots on my table and let me tell you my kids could sit down to eat a meal and id wipe down the table immediately and BAM a spot was already there. I called her and she told me this have NEVER happened before and to try the steel wool that she gave me in my care package. Ohh, it then took my finish off. She told me maybe the sealer failed and they would come and pick it up and reseal the table. I thoughT ok, I’ll let it go after all she’s making it right. Maybe the sealer really did fail? Of course it took them over a month to come out to get my table to reseal it, but I let it go bc they were busy with the holidays coming up and after all they are making it right. Finally, they picked up my table and offered me two options to use the same sealant they used the first time (this is the sealant that I was told would not leave marks and worked on ALL of their tables) or use a new sealant but this sealant could change the color of my table but of course they couldn’t tell me how dark it would make my table so I said just go ahead with the original sealant IF you think this will take care of the problem. She reassured me it would! In the meantime, I picked up 2 barstools from the furniture store and actually talked to Abby in person and I told her I’m really disappointed and if after resealing my table I’m still having problems can they provide me a refund? She said YES, but that won’t be the case bc she is SURE it will work! I got my table back and within a few weeks I have more marks on my table! I’m telling you I took care of this table too. I called her up and she told me yet again to use the steel wool and what do you know took off some of my finish again!! She said she would reseal it again but will not refund me. At this point I was beyond frustrated bc who can keep sending their table back every few weeks to fix something that the seller couldn’t seem to get right? Everything she has told me was a lie. We did a dispute with the credit card company and the things she told them was absolutely ridiculous. They’re just trying to cover themselves and keep the money we spent on a FAULTY table. I then had a furniture repair guy out and he actually called her to find out what product was used. She told him she was still willing to fix the table for us so my husband and I decided to let the dispute go bc honestly she was exaggerating everything to benefit her. I have 3 young kids I don’t have time to continue fighting with someone that’s going to treat their costumers this way. However, when I go to reach out to schedule pickup to have my table fixed she would not respond then I go to message them on Facebook and she has me blocked on messenger.
Terrible experience. Terrible customer service! I ordered a table, Before they received payment they were good and eager to make a sale. Once they received the payment everything went down hill. The table was supposed to be complete in 6-8 weeks. At 8 weeks I had no table, no information and no contact from anyone. I called and sent several text messages. No answer until I threatened to call my bank to get a refund. I received a call shortly after I left that message and was told that they were really busy and that they hadnt started on the table but it would be ready the next week. I asked then about color samples. Weeks later no samples and the table was still not built. I sent a text and asked the store hours and got a response. I texted back and said I would come by the next day to pick a color. I made the hour + drive to the store only to be told by the owner, sorry Im the only one here and I dont have the time. There was only one other customer in the store at the time. He was very rude that day. I had to ask several times for color samples. Finally 12 weeks later the table is ready. I get there to pick it up and there is only the owner there and she said sorry my husband went fishing and I cant lift anything heavy. Well I have neck and back issues but had no choice but to help lift it into the truck. As we were putting it in the truck my son noticed that a piece on one of the legs is moving back and forth. The owner says oh I dont know what happened I will give you some wood glue and you can glue it when you get home. Paid $550 dollars for a console table and I have to glue it when I get home. NEVER AGAIN! Through this whole ordeal not once did they apologize for their shortcomings not once. They always had an excuse and an attitude. I would not recommend this business to anyone.
Amazing service, amazing attitude, and beautiful tables.
GORGEOUS FURNITURE!!
Abby was an extremely rude, and misleading individual. Had me drive 40 miles for nothing.
Great country made furniture
Beautiful selection.
