I dropped a watch off that was supposed to be ready within 2-3 weeks. I went to pick up after 3 weeks and was told it would be another week due to bad parts coming in. So then I come back to pick up and Im told it will be ready in 2 days which is unfortunately after my anniversary so there goes the gift- well its been in over 6 weeks now and I return today and I still am told to come back again!!! The lady is not sympathetic at all and is just matter of fact its not her fault- well its bad business. You dont even call to inform customers of delays you just let them find out when they arrive, have no idea where my watch is because its not even at the shop- and now I have to come back again because they wont bring it until later today- well I dont know who your fixer of watches is but hes not doing your business any favors!

Northshore Clocks is a great place. I have purchased many items from Albert, have gotten a clock serviced, had a battery changed in my watch, and a pin replaced on a watch band. They have a great selection of clocks. They are very nice people!

Service was fantastic. Just bought three cooking knives today and couldnt wait to get home to try them. They sell a wide variety of knives, be it hunting, ornamental, or cooking knives. I would recommend this place over and over again. Also got my other knife set sharpened. $5 A KNIFE!!! Couldnt get a better deal than that.

Definitely place to go for clock and watch repair. Trust them and only place on the Northshore that does am excellent job. We own Grandfather Clocks, Ships Bell delicate and in our family for years so trust is important.

The people in the shop are nice and knowledgeable. They can change the batteries in any time piece and have a clock maker onsite building and repairing. Beautiful selection of time pieces from watches and pocket watches up to 8 ft. tall grandfather clocks and hand carved cuckoo clocks. Run by a lovely family. This business is a pleasure to support, and they have gorgeous jewelry and coo-coo-clocks too!!! It really made a rainy day in NOLA brighten up. The Knives are top quality and we left with knife, clock, and jewelry! I hope to get back to New Orleans soon to shop here again.

Awesome experience! Came in for a knife sharpening and the lady that helped me was super nice and very knowledgeable. I had one knife sharpened and ended up buying another one. I will go back and buy all my knives here. This place blew me away with the knife selection and quality of knives they have, this place is a MUST for local knife enthusiasts!

Mr. Brignac is a very nice fellow. He knows his business very well, and believes in customer service. I purchased a curio yesterday as a gift for my wife. They were able to arrange delivery to my home the same day. We will recommend Northshore to anyone for watches, clocks, knives, and especially curios. We found in one day what we were looking for a year. Largest selection I have ever seen.

Our treasured grandfather needed repair; after spending over $1000 with these folks I wish I had gone to the trouble of shipping it to someone else. I am anxious that they have diminished the lifespan of our clock (google “pointing” vs replacing worn bushings). Not recommended.Update: in addition to the screeching noise when winding the chime weight witnessed 2 days ago, now the clock has stopped.

Ive been here a hand full of times. I am a knife collector and also a guy who still wears a watch and appreciates time pieces. They have one of the largest selection of knives clocks and watches that I have seen in a long time. As a career veteran I have been a lot of places. This place is a gem. The people that work here are wonderful and helpful but also honest. So if you bring them a cheap watch dont get offended if they advise you it may be cheaper just to replace the watch as batteries are around $10. Great place to find some great merchandice. They are great local people buy local and find great stuff too. Candace is a wonderful person and I appreciate her assistance when Ive stopped by.

I went into this establishment about a month ago. I am completely unhappy with the service I received. For a grandfather service call he charged over $2,000 to change out my movement which i could of bought online for less than $900. This is completely outrageous. I understand labor cost but it shouldnt be this high. but here is the kicker my grandfather clock still doesnt work correctly. I would steer clear of these price gouging people.

Not a great experience, although the folks who helped my father and I were friendly enough. Had my father’s Tissot automatic in for service as it was running slow. They suggested their watchmaker perform a full service for about $180. It took a few weeks and when we got it back by the next day it was running slower than before and would even stop. We took it back and they did say they would fix for no additional charge.However, it took them nearly two months to get the watch back to us, only to say they could not repair it as the movement was too complicated. This is a relatively simple automatic movement so not sure why they could not fix. Worse, they could have said so from the beginning instead of holding the watch for this long. They did refund the cost so that is very good, but they say their watchmaker is very experienced yet it took two visits and overall over two months for him to say it is beyond his capability? Lastly, they returned the watch to my father in non-working condition and with the back not fully sealed (you can see gasket showing in picture below).Disappointed as I really wanted to have a local trusted watch repair near me.

I brought my 35 yr old Grandfather clock to this man when a side glass broke and a cable broke when something fell down the stairs and hit it. When he arrived at my house we discussed how lucky I was that the front beveled glass didnt break because he could not replace it. I said, I knew that when it happened. After charging me 1200.00$ for repairs and a new movement that he said I needed, he returned my clock and it no longer had a beveled glass in front. He said, it never had a beveled glass in front. I guess I imagined it after 35 years. What a rip-off! I should have gotten a second opinion. Where is my irreplaceable beveled glass? BIG MISTAKE!!

Horrible experience. Took my watch in for repairs and was told their watchmaker had 30 years experience. Watchmaker called 1 week later and said he could do a full service on my watch for $240. I got it back after 2 weeks and noticed the dial had marks on the lume and crown was stripped to the point it would not screw down properly. To add insult to injury, watch was not serviced properly and keeps horrible time. Stay away!

I dont know anything about the clock/watch side, so I cant speak on that. The knife side of the house, however, is incredible! Let me first say that this store is 100 percent NOT a crappy mall ninja knife store. All of the knives here are QUALITY. I was delightfully surprised at the amazing selection of all types of knives. Brands including Benchmade, Zero Tolerance, Emerson, Kershaw, Ontario, and so many more. All of the knives are well organized by brand and cover the walls and displays. Im a huge fan of Benchmade and this store has every Benchmade you can think of. They have automatics as well. They are an official authorized Benchmade dealer. I see new Benchmade knives in this store before I see them on the internet. The owner gets first production models of a lot of the new Benchmades.They also have a large selection of kitchen knives.All of the prices are fair. Youll pay what you would if you bought them on the internet with the added benefit of holding it in your hand before purchasing. Youll also save money not having to pay shipping.The people working here are super friendly and respectful. Ive been here multiple times and every time Ive had a very pleasant experience.They sell a good number of sharpeners as well as honing oil.I walked in here expecting to find crappy knockoff knives and was completely blown away by finding the opposite.Im very glad I stumbled on this gem and HIGHLY recommend it.

After a terrible experience with the clock shop on Gavier in CBD, took clock to this repair shops Southshore facility and received detail description of what was needed to repair the clock, now long it would take and nothing would be done beyond that unless authorized. Original unsubstantiated estimate by the first shop- $750, this shop was $360. Picked the clock up today, running like new. Great personnel working in the shop and very helpful in getting the clock to/from the shop. Wont go anywhere else again!
