I brought a single tire there to replace from my daughters car. 3 hours later I went check on it and they said it would be another 2 hours before they could get to it. I’m talking about ONE tire. The manager said he was doing his best. Wrong Answer. I took my tire to Goodyear and got it back in an hour. I am DONE with Pepboys.

Brought in 2017 1500 Ram. Spent over $1000 on tires, had to preorder to just get them in. Tires installed, truck shakes at 70 mph (did not do this before). Called, man seemed confident tires needed to be rebalanced. Made appt, showed up to be told they cannot balance the tires bc they dont have the proper machine. They did not try, did not look at them, just said they could not do it. Mind you, they sure did charge us over $100 to balance them after installation. We were given a refund, but now have to miss work to take truck to another shop to have them balanced correctly.When we asked why we werent told prior to installation, man at the store saidSometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt

I was given an appointment for 2pm to get 4 tires and a brake inspection done. I got there for 1:20pm. I was told I had 2 cars in front of me. They only had 1 mechanic working and he was at lunch. After waiting for an hour. I decided to just leave after seeing their only mechanic finally remove the first tire from the first car at 2:10pm. Why give appointments if youre not prepared to keep them. Before I left, they asked if I could bring my car back in an hour because they called another mechanic in to work and hell be there in an hour. Too little too late. What kind of Bullshiggity is that?

This particular Pep Boys has steadily gone downhill over the past few years. The internet and the phone service both state the opening time on Sunday is 9am. So, I make sure I’m there at store opening for the tire service representative to tell me they open at 10am and the last few times that I have brought my vehicle there it takes all day to do any type of service. Years ago Pep Boys was the “go to” place for automotive repairs but those days are long gone.

Needed to get my battery replaced and even though they showed no open appointments online until later today, the service manager greeted me with a smile and the techs swapped out my battery first thing this morning. I know changing a battery isnt a huge deal, but their willingness to drop everything and take care of me before work this morning was greatly appreciated.
Had an appointment scheduled for 3pm. Showed up on time and was told theyd get my car right in. After 2 hours, I went to see whats going on and my car wasnt even pulled into the garage yet. They said Im next. 😒
Pep Boys has cut a lot of the services that you used to be able to get. Prices for some services are higher $$$. Used to be able to schedule a appointment, but NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO DO THAT EITHER. So overall customer service is gone down hill, CUSTOMER IS NO LONGER FIRST, BUT SOMEWHERE CLOSE TO LAST.

I went in with a nail in my brand new tire and they patched it really quickly! I was very happy with the service and glad I didnt have to get a replacement tire (which is what several other places told me Id have to do). Sal was very nice at the front and so was the mechanic who fixed my tire (didnt catch his name). Definitely will be going back!
Amazing customer service at this location. I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to car repairs etc. I went in and I couldnt find what I was looking for (I didnt even know what the part was called). I explained my year make model and what part I think I needed and through some great customer service skills we found what I was looking for. Highly recommend for anyone from novice to pro!

I havent shopped at this location, but I had 2 new tires added & a front end alignment done. The price wasnt the absolute cheapest in town but for the tire brand I found it fair (I could have had it done elsewhere for slightly less but I do not trust the brand). Its been a few months & a big road trip & everything is holding up beautifully. Its not my first service opportunity from Pep Boys & Ive never had any complaint. I would recommend looking for coupons on their website before going & they will accept it from your cell phone.

Brought my car in cause I really had no choice, it was the closest place to me and my breaks were going to the floor. I specifically told them not to put my windows down. The power window switch is messed up and Im aware of this just wasnt a priority to fix. Of course they put the window down. After arguing with them they agreed to look at the window. They eventually got it up. However when I drove off I realized my AC wasnt working. Someone purposely pulled the AC relay causing my ac to not work. Very unprofessional these people lost my business!

I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I went for an alignment and was told I needed 4 new ball joints. A second opinion from someone more qualified revealed that I just needed to make a simple adjustment to the drag link sleeve. This place will never get my business.

If you dont have hours to wait, this isnt where you need to go. Dropped my truck off (I had a bad feeling when I saw 3 of the workers huddled up BSing) for a simple tire rotation, came back 3 hours 40 minutes later and its still in the same spot. Even when I came in at 7 as they were opening up, they told me they wouldnt be done before 9.Update 5 minutes later: so this kid named Angel comes out to my truck as Im about to pull out and says, I got one more tire to put on and Ill get you next, I promise itll be quick! So Ill bump it up from 1 to 2 *s because this kid hustles. Heck, I may offer him a job making more than $10 an hour! 💵 talks, 🐂💩 walks

First of all I would’ve never given this location a 5 star rating. If I could go negative I would. My sister and I went up to this location to get our brake pads changed and the man that looked at our car insisted they were fine. We were hearing noises for the next few days and went back to check and like we originally thought, our pads needed replacing expect for now, we also needed new rotors and the New maintenance man ageeed that that was a huge miss on the part of the prior inspector. We concluded that either pepboys was hiring grossly incompetent mechanics or he intentionally took advantage of our trust in the company to be honest and because my sister was up there alone and told us they were fine in order to leech more money from us. Needless to say we went back up there to communicate the error to the manager, Kenny, and he was no better. He made every excuse for the mechanic. “Maybe he was sick, maybe he was trying to save you money, maybe he just missed it, it’s not that big a deal,” he was incredibly incompassionate and displayed a terrible attitude. And also went as far as to lie and claim he was the regional manager in order to keep us from escalating the issue. He seemed to fight us at every turn and because of that, It took us calling out father, getting in touch with the district manager and and a entire week and a half in order to get this issue resolved and it still cost us $200. Pep boys has lost a very loyal customer of 6 years and a credit cardholder because of this foolishness. Take your business elsewhere.

Horrid wait times. No one ever answers the phone. MANAGEMENT IS AWFUL. Matt is a terrible store manager and not helpful whatsoever. I have been in there a few times over the past few months, reluctantly, and theres always new people so it seems as though this store cant keep any employees. Almost like its a revolving door of employees in and out. Lindsey is extremely rude and speaks vulgar in front of customers. This entire store needs a makeover, including new management. Will NOT be coming back.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression. My first, and last impression is, I will never do business with Pep Boys.My alternator went out while travelling from New Orleans to Jackson, MS. Had to make an unexpected stay in Slidell. After looking at Google ratings, I decided Pep Boys would be a good choice. WRONG. I was at the front door at 6:50am with my car still barely running. There was a mechanic in one of the bays and two people up front. All three saw me standing at the door. The two up front made a point not to acknowledge me and the mechanic just said you need to talk to the guys up front. In that instant, I decided, my money was no good there. I went across the street to their competitor and had the opposite experience. While $625 may not make or break Pep Boys, I was glad I didnt spend it at the store in Slidell.Guys, please remember, without the customer, your business will not survive. Please treat the next person better!

Sales fine. Mechanics too lazy to install a horn. Guess they only want to be paid to stand around doing NOTHING. Guess installing a horn with one nut and two plugin wires is too complicated for them.

SLOWWWWW!!!! Prepare to drop off & pick up (the next day) unless you are very patient and packed for camping.. 4 1/2 hours later..and they are finally taking the old tires off the rims? Half the bays are closed, and they have only 2? mechanics? All PepBoys are not created equal. Nice people, but disappointed.

I had road hazard warranty on my slow leak tires previously bought here..... Showed up at 11 on a Friday w 1 car in the whole garage!!! Called and was told my car was next to be work on at 12! I show up at 2:40 and my car was not even moved and 2 new cars are being worked on! Also asked for an estimated time 3 diff times to different employees including Lindsey the repair desk worker who refused to give me a clue and also lied on the phone about my car being NEXT! I asked for a manager she said noone is here and store managers have nothing to do with shop! I finally said you should have a worker for the express Lane so you can honor the name! No reason a repair should take 4 hours on a very dead day!! I own a business, I can assure you my employees treat customer w respect and concern when they show they are disappointed in their performance! Lindsey attitude showed 0 customer service skills. If anything her take it or leave it attitude is making me not want to get my next set of tires here at all! She showed no attempt to even find answers for me! Infact went out of the way to say there is noone here that can do ANYTHING! Never once was helpful. Truly disappointed here! I will never recommend someone to come here! I never want my friend or family to be disrespected the way I have been today! Maybe treat your workers to Custer service class and teach them customer do matter and should be helpful.
Id leave no stars if that was an option. Car was dropped off at 10am and still not finished at 6 pm for a TIRE Repair!!!! I was told it would be finished in 2 hours. Waited! After two hours now its gunna be three more hours. I called other places and was told it would be about two hours to get in and thought oh well, Ive waited this long Ill be finished soon. I was surely wrong! I think its completely rude to lie about the timing just to secure the business. If I would have been told they were completely booked up I would have gone somewhere else.
The staff here are very friendly and extremely informative. If you cant find something or they dont have it, they are more than willing to help you find out how to get it. When I have a car question, I go here for advice. Ive experienced terrible customer service and rude people at other places, but this store and those who work in it are great.
If I could rate this place a negative, I would. Do not waste your money and time here. I came in for a tire replacement and new break pads which I assumed I needed based on a thunder sound i heard when breaking. Tire wasnt an issue. Break inspection was insisted upon before any break work could be completed. After inspection I was told there was no issue with my breaks and that pads were not necessary. He assumed the sound came from when the tire busted. Road around for a week with work keeping me from returning to pepboys and the thunder sound turns into a scraping sound. Going off of a professional opinion that my breaks were fine I figured it was a tire issue. I go back, explain the issue and an associate Marda looks for 30 seconds and immediately noticed the rotors have been damaged due to lack to NO BREAK PAD REPLACEMENT. She comes off noticeably annoyed and mentions several times How could he have missed that. She then calls another mechanic to take a glance who then seconds that that was an obvious find and that, that was a HUGE miss. Now the work on my car has gone from a $256 job for pads to a $800 job as they insist that both rotors need to be replaced. I then go to my Ford Dealership because clearly they cant be trusted to do an honest job and there he confirms the rotor must be replaced and had the pads been replaced when I asked, we wouldnt have this issue. Upon returning to the pepboys to speak with the manager Kenny to fix this obvious mistake, I was met with a brazen attitude as if it was a simple mistake that is excusable for someone who is supposed to be an expert. He brushed it off as if he didnt care that a careless mistake cost me hundreds of dollars that I dont have and acted as if nothing could be done. I was offered ZERO consideration and he was not at all apologetic about A MISTAKE HIS MECHANIC MADE. He then excuses the behavior by saying he may not have felt well and he may have just wanted to save me money or maybe the pads were bad when he did a full, back to front, thorough inspection. Which couldnt possibly be true if my rotors are now messed up. He says he cant offer me anything but a 10% discount and a $50 rebate which is unacceptable and inexcusable. They do not care if a mistake is made on your car and will not do anything regardless if you are a long time, card holding patron who has spent plenty of money with their company, as I have. Do not wait until you have a bad experience. Avoid it all together and go elsewhere.
I have taken my car here for service for a few years now. I can not say enough good things about this store. Just today (Sunday at 4pm) Adam, Branden and Felix got me back on the road with a new battery. I have never been sold something I dont need. They are very honest with what I need and what is wrong with my car. I feel very lucky to have them on my side.

There was a time when I was a huge fan of Slidell Pepboys. My experience on 03/05/2019 drove a stake through that. I dropped off my Loves vehicle at 7am that morning, at which time I noticed a small green sign stating that Pepboys would be closing at 6pm, that day. I thought to myself, good thing I was getting a jump on things. The car sat till approximately 4:21pm, at which time I had called to check on its progress. A young lady informed me that they were just pulling the car into the service bay. I inquired would the car be finished that day, and was told yes. I missed the call at 6:12pm, but heard the voice message that was left at that time, informing me that the car was ready for pick up. By the time we got to Pepboys, approximate 6:45pm. Nearly everyone had left, and we were told we would have to return the next day. Major inconvenience, as my Loves work tools and hat were in her car, and she was scheduled for 6:30am, and Pepboys does not open till 7am. What confounds me is why were we called after the store was closed? Having us drive there to only be turned away? Slidell Pepboys has been going downhill for some time now. They have seen the last of our business. They only received a single star, as you are not allowed to give less.UPDATE 03/25/2019The response below is bogus, a form letter sent in an attempt to make the public think that Pep Boys actually cares. I responded, sent them all the requested information, and all I heard is cricket chirping.UPDATE 04/19/2019Doubt that one has to do with the other. But, yesterday we received a $30 gift card, and two discount coupons.

I have used them a few times to do repairs on a family vehicle. Convenient to be able to drop it off & know it will be repaired when I pick it up but the billing is high.

Please if you value customer service and your money dont go here for service. They overcharge for everything. They keep you in for 2 and a half hours on an appointment just to do an oil change. Please just dont. And they lied to her face and said they rotated the tires when they didnt. It had Nangkang tires in the back and douglas tires in the front, and when checked if they were switched they werent. This place straight took advantage of her just because shes a female.

Just got my car back from pepboys for the second time this week, i went in for a simple replacing of my brake pads (which took a day and a half), and when i got my car back the brake calipers were so tight that it warped my rotors. they were also supposed to do a power steering flush (for free) because they recently changed my power steering pump, and i was having problems with the new part. it was never done, even after bringing my car back 2 times. i dont get how you can bring your car in with a problem and leave with more problems.

I completely apologize to pep boys for my 13 year old accusing them of stealing her sisters iPod, it was still in my truck when we picked it up, she just overlooked it. Pep boys on Gause in Slidell has GREAT customer service and in the 25yrs or more that I have been using them they have always taken excellent care of our automobiles and I have NEVER had a negative experience.
Budget trucks and Budget truck rental place are in 2 different buildings. Go to the rental place first. Then pick up the truck at PepBoys. PepBoys doesnt tell you that.

This was the first and last time I will ever go to a pep boys. I bought a used truck and wanted to give it a tune up and tires. To start I asked if I could go a size bigger in the tires without rubbing. The said yes. I can barely drive now because they rub so bad. Next I asked them to grab all of the fluids for my year truck and asked the mechanic if he has any other suggestions of what I should change. He replied with changing the transmission filter. So after roughly 20 bolts and a lot of prying to break the sealant I discovered the filter was enclosed in a crimped metal container. So after real sealing waiting 24 hours for it to dry, and borrowing my girlfriends car for work, I started to put the transmission fluid in. So, I drove down the road to autozone only to find out pepboys sold me transmission fluid to a GM and could cause serious damage to my tacoma. I have never met a bunch of incompetent people in my life. Do not go there! I wouldnt trust these guys with a bicycle, let alone another vehicle.

Purchase a Battery for a vehicle that turned out to be a bad one came back to the store Multi times to have the battery,alternator tested and it all came back positive I ended up having to go to another place to have the equipment replaced because Pep Boys with bad equipment thru it all brought the equipment back to them and it has been less than 30 days and the refuse to allow me to return the battery just over all poor customer service and knowledge on the techs that they have on board I wouldnt recommend ANYONE to Shop at this Location AT ALL
