We came here after the movies. It was raining outside still. So, we and a few others waited in our cars until the rain passed. We came in only for printer ink. That was it, I walked around in the store taking pictures. It seemed so bare. Other store branches are so packed inside. Not this one, they had their Back To School sale going on. And other sales going on. We got the ink and went across the street.

Went into this OfficeMax to buy a desk. I walked up to customer service and mention that I cant seem to find the desk Im looking for, and this employee reacts as if Im ruining his entire day by asking him a question. He then tells me they dont even carry this desk. When I show him that their website says they have 3 in stock, he says well we all know how the web is. Thanks dude, so helpful.Turns out they do have it in stock, what a surprise...Terrible customer service. Miserable employees that hate their jobs.

Went there for pens, for back to school. First, the items ring up at least $1.50 more than the tag on the shelf. Then the manager says they don’t take manufacturers coupons anymore. When you tell him that the register rang up wrong price, he argues that the register is correct. Won’t be going back there. Staples has a Much Better selection and lower prices.

Ordered in-store pickup for a laptop and drove 40 minutes to pick it up. Arrived to find out that the laptop wasnt there because the store cant do their own inventory properly.I received no call to know it wasnt there and the manager was not helpful at all once I arrived.Im not sure if all OfficeMaxes are this terrible, or if this particular store is just exceptionally bad, but I will never shop at an OfficeMax again.

Ive been to this store many times but never felt as welcomed as today Sunday, May 2, 2021. Today I walked in an grabbed a shopping cart. As I was walking towards the aisle that I needed to go. A Man named Merza asked do you need any assistance in finding anything? I told him no and continued to the aisle. As I was grabbing all the things I needed. Merza walked by and I told him Thank You for asking if I needed anything. He was the 1st person who has ever asked me In This Store if I needed anything or needed help. After I thanked him he asked if I needed anything else. I asked if he had anymore boxes in the back. He was so nice to check ✔ the inventory and got them for me. He helped me carry everything to the register. With no hesitation he asked me to pull up my car so he can help me put all the materials in my car. OFFICE MAX should be very appreciated to have a Intelligent, Professional Guy like Merza there!!

I was just in here on December 4, 2020 7:22 PM because I needed to fax some documents. I went to the FedEx counter and the overweight woman greeted me with a groan and rolling of her eyes. She was clearly annoyed and bothered and wasn’t in any mood to assist me. I asked her if I can fax some documents or if they can be scanned and emailed to someone so I don’t have to drive to a FedEx location out of my way. She kept trying to get rid of me by saying I have to do it myself on one of the self serve machines, I explained I can’t as I don’t have a credit card with me only cash, and if my paperwork can get faxed and I can pay cash - she said no they don’t do that.So we are only days away from 2021 (21 years into the 21st century) and Office Max, of all places, cannot do something as simple as fax a document for me and then ring me up so I can pay cash for the service.The fax was invented 56 years ago in 1964 and Office Max couldn’t fax something for me because I was paying cash. Hard to believe it’s 2020/2021 but it explains why their days are numbered.I wanted to call her out because I think she lied to me because she doesn’t want to do it. But I didn’t, I will drive out of my way to FedEx, fax my document and never step foot inside an OfficeMax or OfficeDepot ever again and I will be closing my account with them.If they can’t figure out how to fax something for me so I can pay cash, why would I ever trust them with something bigger like the purchase of a computer? Something to think about it.I’m tired of coming in and not feeling welcomed because someone had a bad day and like I’m a bother when I’m not demanding or unreasonable and ask for very little assistance to complete basic things. It’s ridiculous to have to fight someone to take your money.I hope you lose your job as you are clearly not happy with it, there’s many people who would be grateful for your job. Repugnant. Sad that this is the face of OfficeMax.

I went to this store to print out some papers that I needed. Both of the printing machines were jammed and I asked for help at the counter. When I asked for help, every employee that I encountered told me that they were too busy doing other stuff, instead of helping me. I then waited at customer service line to claim back my money that the printing machine used incorrectly. I paid for a certain amount and they charged me for a different one. I talked about this to the one in charge of customer services and they told me that they were really busy, so b usy that they could not help me. They dont even deserve the one star rating.

Under staffed. No sense of urgency by staff to move quickly when there are longer lines especially at the print center service. Staff entertain people pushing in as if they own the place to the detriment of the customer being served. Wouldnt recommend you waste your valuable time here unless youre a fan of watching paint dry as a hobby. Unprofessional is being kind.

Place wasnt to bad. Lots of personnel, and they get fairly excited to actually see a customer and help which is always a good thing. Otherwise its an oversized office supplies store.

Mostly has what you are looking for. If its on sale it can be a good deal. Otherwise things are just too over priced. Make it competitive and I may buy more there. It is in a mall with other goid stores so when you are in a bind its a great location.

I ordered through online a laptop Dell, and it came with defect which i did notice and i confronted them and they told me to cal Dell and that i can get it fix it but Dell couldnt fix it and i went back to story to for replaced or refund but then they told me they cant take it back because it has opened like they should have take it in the first place instead of making me go back and forth and waste my time. Arent you going to be mad if you already got a laptop that has already have problem in it and they wont do anything about it. Im so not happy with the customer service, they were so rude and have no respect.

Store is looking tired. Selection not what it was. Background music is so loud it interferes with talk at the copy center, and apparently controlled by corporate, and cannot be turned down. That said, staff there are very helpful and courteous!

Not a fan of retail stores since now a days most things can be bought online but I needed a dry erase board that day and decided to give Officemax a try. Found exactly what I wanted and the manager even priced matched some additional things I needed for the board. Really made the process very seamless and hassle free and even makes me consider coming back. Great manager and overall great experience.

Attempted to have an enlargement of a pattern made at this location. Entered the store and was promptly assisted by a young man in the printing department. No one was wearing name tags so I cant even comend the one employee working.He started to sort out my order when several other customers came in for services in their printing department. After sometime he called for additional assistance as the manager whom was talking to two other employees at the none busy registers to come help him. The register area is also up front in clear view from printing department. The guy that came to help could not complete any task on his own, requiring the young man to stop assisting other every few minutes to help him do the simplest of task. Once he got the setup complete he stated it would take 20 min to finish printing; we could leave and come back if we wished. We returned after the allotted time to find out the printer wasnt able to print on formated paper and a larger paper format needed to be brought up from the back. The young man is working his tail off finishing the other 4 orders that came in after my order. He calls the manager to check for said paper size and weight. After another 15-20 minutes the manger comes to the printing area to report that there is additional paper in the back that size. Why didnt he bring it up? At this point I had waited 2 hrs. The manger then leaves instead of assisting the young man who clearly needs more help. I patiently continued to wait as yet another customer gets in line. 15 more minute pass. Its becoming very evident that it is going to be a long while before this young man will be able to go retrieve the right paper to finish my order. At 2.5 hrs I decided to take my business else where. No fault of the young man, as Im sure he was very frustrated as well. I felt terrible for him, as he really did try his best.As Im leaving the store I look down the main aisle to see the manager and the same two employees huddled in a group talking Midway back the main aisle.Inexcusable. I took my business to FedEx Kinkos and had my enlargement within a reasonable amount of time from a team of employees that assisted eachother. The manger at this location needs to get some remediation training or be demoted as he cant handle the job role or just doesnt care.

Horrible, just awful- inept and over-priced tech people and bumbling store managers and customer service people. I wanted to buy a new laptop with Office Suite and anti-virus installed. Ive now been to the store seven separate times and still dont have the computer.Phone calls promised and never made, ETAs on work being finished always missed and when the work is done and I stop in to pick it up, the computer hasnt worked properly and needs to stay in for more work.I was told the store manager would call me back in 5 minutes to try to make some sort of recompense. Of course its an hour later and Im still waiting.As the saying goes, Id give them 0 stars if I could.

Print department is incredibly sluggish. They had the nerve to bump people from the back of the line to take care of them first. Who does this? Spent 30 mins in print department for 4 copies.

Friendly and courteous staff but the selections were lacking. Some items didnt have price tags indicating the costs. With a fair amount of shoppers present it became a challenge to get assistance.

Yonus(Sales Rep) at the Print Center was very helpful when I came to get some documents printed. The wording on my document was not printing onto the paper when printed and he gladly fixed and adjusted in Word and everything printed out fine afterwards. This employee deserves a raise and a promotion.

Waited over 20 minutes to try to buy some supplies as the person working the register could not check someone out. 4 freaking people in the store 2 trying to buy something and they cant get it done. She must of called the manager over 10 times to override some stupid problem, also switched to a new register and they still could not check him out. Ive gotta say, its no surprise to me that the place is so empty, going to stay that way until they go out of business, sooner rather than later. Good luck!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Both Judy in the Printing Dept. and the manager on duty gave the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced with a Home Depot - Office Max store. The order was placed online for in-store pickup. I was called when the order was ready for pick up but when the order was received it was only partial. I spent 20 minutes arguing with the staff that they were missing part of the order and showing them the order confirmation before they FINALLY gave me my final product. NO APOLOGY JUST ATTITUDE. I will NEVER recommend this store to anyone for anything and WILL NOT RETURN FOR EVEN A PAPERCLIP!

I was on trial and a vendor had made a mistake on our exhibits and we were facing a crisis. That evening I drove to Skokie to see if I can get exhibits printed there. It was late afternoon, and it was almost closing time. The Print Services Sales Consultant, Susan, had turned the machine. I told her about the urgency of my situation, and Susan agreed to help me even though she stayed late. There are good employees, and there are gems. Susan and her manager were wonderful and I am very thankful that they were working that evening. I will continue to use this store for my printing needs in the future. I recommend if anyone needs an exhibit or other printing job to send it to OfficeDepot/OfficeMax.
