First off, the team member with the cool bow tie is always friendly, professional, and a pleasure to interact with. I believe his name is Matt. He’s outstanding. It’s very odd that they got rid of shopping baskets. I believe they are the only grocery store in CT to do so, so perhaps that is going to be their specialty? But please, can you redesign your super bird containers??! They ALWAYS leak chicken juice!!! Your company has the funds I’m sure. You’re opening up new stores left and right. Please make non leak able containers. And no, it’s not user error. No, I’m not holding the containers crooked or sideways or at a tilt, they will ALWAYS leak!!!!

Dont buy pastrami anywhere else. Only Big Y has Black Plate and its way better than ANY other brand. Prices are awesome, specials and most of all staff goes out of their way to please.

I live in Seymour and not that familiar with the Derby location, so I went to the Shelton store with screenshots from the circular of the sale items I wanted to pick up. I was shocked that their prices on many items were $1 or .50 higher in price. Same exact pics from the ad, but at a significant higher cost. I heard that this is common by location, but was still shocked to see it with my own eyes. Even the girl helping me with a digital coupon at the service desk was surprised. So I wasted gas to go further out of my way to pay more on the sale items.

Great grocery store. Soups are delicious. Bakery can add 20lbs just from smelling the wonderful odors. Love this store.

Beautiful Grocery store, but somewhat higher prices than competing stores. Some items that would be at other store may be missing. Great atmosphere with fresh look. Very well lit and much better than locations such as the Branford and North Branford stores. Staff were nice and willing to help.

Helpful stafg, fresh preppared foods and quality grocery goods.

Its a excellent place to shop for food. People are Covid19 aware and follow the guidelines. This alone is a great reason to shop here. Prices are higher than other markets but the selections and quality of the food are much better than many other markets! More check-out lines could be opened at peak hours but otherwise I highly recommend Shelton Big Y!

Big Y is the only place I shop. Love the staff they all go out of their way to help you. All the cashiers are super nice and helpful. Seems like most of the staff love their job and the way Big Y treats them. You dont find that very often in grocery stores. Bob the store manager is super nice and all his staff like him. Also love the people in the seafood dept) they are just awsume. Since Im handicapped they have great electric carts. Well I guess you know how I feel about the Shelton store.

This Big Y is VERY NEW!! So of course, its VERY clean, organized & well stocked.Prices... are...well... Big Y prices youd expect. But they are quite convenient, especially when you need just a few items or need a last minute item to bring to a friends house (desserts, etc.)Customer Service... I dont usually have to wait long (few mins at most)... sometimes I think... 1 or 2 of the customer service desk people forget that they work at the CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK!!!... & therefore arent thrilled to have to actually help customers... you can see/hear them sighing when you ask a question... but its only a couple of employees... the rest are fine.

This is the 2nd time calling this store for an order less than 24 hours and the bakery were very accommodating, the young girl I spoke to was amazing, she was able to squeeze a cake for 8am the next day. Highly recommend going and ordering from this store.

Possibly the best simple sub Ive had. I love the fact that they have Portuguese bread subs! The tenders are always crisp and the bread is always fresh. Condiments are on point. For the price you pay, you just cant beat the quality here. 100% reccommended

I have missed this place! The selection of fresh produce plus the availability of any and every ingredient I could possibly need (for my extensive, vegan cooking) is simply on point. This is my go-to grocery store.

The people are nice I like the bakery products,they have a lot of products a lot of things that other stores dont have. but I feel that they can be a bit pricey.

When Big Y moved into town, everyone seemed to be excited. I had always been a shopper of another store, where I know where everything is and I know many of the employees. I decided to check out Big Y. With the same basic setup as every other grocery store, it wasnt as difficult as I thought it might be to find what I was looking for. Because it is a new building, it is very nice and bright, which makes it a pleasant shopping experience.Parking is ample, though driving through the lot is a little more of a challenge than some other places. There is only one way in or out, which I understand, but this path is directly in front of the store where all of the shoppers have to walk back and forth to and from their cars. Not only that, but all of the other shops in this plaza are past Big Y, which means everyone, no matter which store you visit, has to wait for shoppers to cross between the store and the parking lot.In summary, the new store is very nice and the shopping experience is a pleasant one. There are plenty of close parking spaces, but driving through the lot can be a challenge. I hope no one gets hurt.

What a HUGE, BEAUTIFUL AND VERY CLEAN market! :-) My very 1st visit to the Shelton market.I was absolutely taken by the service. The first impression can be your worst impression and in this case it was superb! The Bakery staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and prompt. Please keep up the same attitude and spirits. Trust me it goes a long way :-)

It was my first time shopping there, I love that theres so much more then stop n shop. Only one thing while walking across a women almost hit me with her car and she gave me the finger, other shoppers saw it and said I was in the right and how there should be speed bumbs, I 100 0/0 agree.

Gorgeous grocery store with quality products! They can have really good deals on olive oil and fish but their cheese can be pricey compared to stop and shop prices. Freshly prepared food is amazing and some of their veggies are locally grown which I love!

Staff is nice, pretty decent variety of products. The produce section could offer more items but it does the job. The deli section is basic at best and lacks any real variety, especially with the cheese selection. Other then that its all fine.

This is the newest and largest Big Y I have shopped at. It has EVERYTHING!Prices are always good, produce is fresh and outstanding and the service is excellent.

The woman at customer service was not friendly, quite the attitude. It’s not the customers fault that she’s working there and is miserable. It’s a special store but Feels a bit depressing. I don’t know if it’s the atmosphere or the people that are in there and asked for the parking lot, have 1 million eyes wide open because your car is like a magnet for other people to recklessly drive and almost hit your car. I would caution people to not bring their best cars there. Unfortunately a lot of elderly people go here and they are one of the reasons that the driving in that parking lot is not really organized

Nice store! People say the prices are higher than other markets. Their quality is superb. Ive stopped in a few times to pick up something for lunch or a quick dinner and have always been pleased.Also, it is a great store to get I your extra Fitbit steps.😊

Love the new big y, sea food department is great and the steaks in the meat dept are perfect, also try the beer can chicken wings..yum! They have good prices but you have to know what your your buying, they do a good job at the registers& oh try their cakes, the bakery dept make great cakes!!
