Great, friendly service! After discussing what was wrong with the mower, I was warned the costs could run over 100.00. I expressed concern, and I might just buy a new mower. She offered to have the tech call me if costs ran over 100.00 and was advised a week and a half for repair. One week and two days later. I received a call that it was ready, and my cost was 85.00. When I picked it up, I found not only had it been repaired… the oil and air filter had been changed, a new blade had been installed, and it was cleaned!I kid you not… my mower now cuts better than when it was new, five years ago.I am not someone who usually writes reviews, but I am so impressed that I felt compelled. Five stars for customer service and the mechanic.
Great service very helpful will definitely go again.
Bad business model and customer service. Watch out for unexpected costs!I brought a chainsaw in to get a tune up, not knowing anything about the chainsaw or if anything was truly wrong with it. I told them I hadn’t used it in years and rarely do, but felt a general tune up might be good for some limbs I needed to cut. They said tune ups take about 2 weeks. A little over 2 weeks later I get a call to let me know it is ready only to find out then that the chainsaw I brought in is an older model with parts they needed to order and additional parts beyond a tuneup that needed fixed including a carburetor replacement that they determined they were going to update without contacting me and getting my consent, my total new total, with the additional parts I was never aware they decided to replace, now totaled $220. I have never worked with a small engine shop or autobody that doesn’t contact the customer before making updates/fixes that were not discussed when you brought something in, but according to Craig whom I spoke with, he said this is the kind of service his customers expect. So your customers expect to be blindsided by additional costs you don’t make them aware of?? If that is your poor business model you should make that known up front, because NO ONE expects that! He then said that I could have requested an estimate when I brought it in, but doesn’t a tune up consists of checking the engine for parts that need cleaning, fixing, or replacing? As I reiterated, I told them I didn’t know what/if anything was wrong with it, so outside of asking for a tune up, what would I request an estimate on?? I just wanted a tune up, assuming during that time they were doing that I would be made aware of anything else they come across, similar to what happens anywhere else if you use an autobody or small engine. If that is your business model is doing whatever you feel is needed on a machine without a customer’s consent, you should bring that up when a customer drops something off! Looking at reviews from Yelp and other sites, sounds like I am not the only one who has had this issue.I told them I am not paying what I did not agree to, as I would not have approved the additional parts needed had I been informed, and just came back and got the chainsaw. He took out the parts he put in, gave me back my chainsaw and now a pile of parts, not even putting those back on, now having a chainsaw that is in worse condition then when I brought it in, and was still charged $35 for labor.I am all about supporting small local businesses, but not when you run a poor business model like this. I would not recommend this place, plenty of other local shops with better customer service.
