The company I work for recently purchased a frame from TestResources. I have extensive experience with several other manufactures and with frames from 5kN to 250kN.Overall the experience has been good.We had some very severe limitations on space while still having very demanding applications for the frame. We worked with TestResources to build a custom solution utilizing standard components that they offer. Given our needs they were the only place in the market that could deliver a servo-electirc frame with 25kN of force capacity.PROS:*Cost is very competitive*Flexibility of requirements and the ability to customize without a large premium*Solid build quality*System is highly flexible, up-gradable, expandable*Turn key for basic testingCONS:*Product support is behind - documentation is out of date, minor software bugs and issues are present*The user interface is clunky and unpolished*Software feels rigid at times and/or requires to many operations to perform simple tasks*Utilizing multiple configurations/feedback sensors and/or calibrating requires highly experienced users*Non UL listed product - requires electrical inspection (varies on local laws) which adds cost and increases the amount of time before it can be used . I will have to modify the equipment we just purchased to pass code in Ontario, Canada. Even though the product is cost competitive it is not cheap, this is a major annoyance and reduces our ability to put the equipment into service quickly.TestResources provides excellent value for money but requires experienced users for basic (tension/compression/cyclic) testing and very experienced users for non-standard applications. They also seems to be the only company to offer greater than 10kN servo-electric frames.I would buy from TestResources again as the cost is right and they do care about customers and delivering a good product. The products are powerful and definitely have lots of flexibility, but the software needs more polishing and to be bug free. The product also needs to get UL listed or equivalent. In more time with more feedback I do think Testresources could deliver a very high quality product that would rival MTS or Instron.

The company I work for was scammed into purchasing multiple testing machines at one time. They were installed last November of 2018. It is now April of 2019 and every machine is down for a variety of reasons. The two I work with have had many issues and one has not work since the second week after installation. They refused to come on site without payment, has had one of the control units for 1.5 months so far with out providing a replacement or loan. Does not respond to phone calls or emails. When they do get around to answering an email from a week prior, they come up with different reasons the unit they have is not FIXED yet. They are cheaper for a reason, be warned.

My company provides timber for construction and of course we cannot send out wood and hope for the best. We have been using test machine from this company for years. We have nary received a complaint from our buyers. We know that is because their machines will catch inferior piece of timber so we do not send them out.
