Service department rude and unresponsive. Absolutely terrible service went in for a quote and gave them a detailed list of what need to be fixed. Called and left messages and emailed service without response from them. Went to check on my boat over a week later and still no quote done. Finally later that day I had the quote emailed to me after they had sent it to insurance which I did not want done cause I wanted to make sure it included everything. And to find out now after insurance has issued me a payment it did not include everything needed to repair my boat. Service manager was very rude the one time he did call me and said damage was normal wear and tear. Well I keep my boat clean and organized. Normal wear and tear from being near a fire is the only way to have a glove box door melt and deform. I would have expected better since I did purchase the boat from one of their other locations but guess they don’t care here about my business and thousands of dollars.
Ordered a new boat. 3 month wait. To be expected. However, the boat arrived with a handful of flaws. After a few month wait, most of our problems have been addressed. I’m very grateful to the service managers at Shakopee, St. Cloud and Rodgers. They turned a negative review into a positive one. Still didn’t get the steps we ordered, but that money was refunded. The two negatives I will mention are not obtaining the step ordered and we didn’t enjoy our sales experience. I would buy another boat from rapid marine, but I would use a different sales person.Kudos to them service managers though!!!!
I have never taken the time to write a review on a business (good or bad). Given the service I received at R & R, I felt compelled to share my experience.I was simply trying to get a depth finder installed on the front of my boat. The first time I picked the boat up, I got it in the water and the depth finder did not work. I called R&R on Monday and they said they just found out that the person who was working on it had gone home sick and did not finish the job, even though they called me early in the week to say it was done and i picked it up at the end of the week...... they never actually plugged the depth finder in to see if it was working. So, I had to bring the boat back for another try at installation..The second time I picked it up, they had run an ethernet cable to lock in to my depth finder at the steering wheel/rear transducer (based on their recommendation) This did not solve the issue and they were surprised that it did not work. We came to the conclusion that the depth finder I had purchased was not compatible with the ethernet network....a simple call earlier in the process would have helped solve the issue, but they never actually plugged the depth finder in to see if it worked. The installation of the ethernet cable was a solution recommended by R&R.Apparently, i needed to be more clear in my desire for the depth finder to actually work when i got the boat back..... i am not going back for a 3rd try as I am down $350 and am cutting my losses now.If you choose to go to R&R marine in Shakopee, I strongly encourage you to confirm with them that they have tested your boat and that it actually works before they turn it back over to you.....and good luck, you will need it.
Hello, we purchased our Lund boat from rapid marine in Shakopee a few years ago. We had excellent help and use your business for winterizing ect.Today we went in to look for an anchor for an upcoming fishing trip. When we walked in( only ones in the store) a gentleman was on the phone by the door. We asked where anchors were and he pointed to the corner. We started looking in the area. One gentleman was sitting behind the counter and another standing at the counter. Absolutely no one offered to help us. My husband went up to them and asked about size of anchor to get and supplies needed, as we saw one in a previously opened but taped up box on the floor. The gentleman sitting stood up looked over the counter and said” ya that should work.” We asked about price, “ around $100”. No offer to get up or to help. Needless to say we purchased an anchor at West Marine. They were more then helpful and actually got up, walked from behind the desk and assisted us with instructions too. We may have paid a little more but costumer service means a lot.
Great place to go if you like being treated like you don’t matter to them. And you don’t.
Having your boat winterized and wrapped here is a rip off save some money and go across the street for half the price
Bough a used $20,000 boat from them this last winter, salesman says, “you have any issues this spring, bring it in and we’ll take care of it”. Needless to say I had issues with the motor and they want to charge me just to look at it. Very disappointed in the customer service.
Bought a boat from Luke. He is a very low key knowledgeable sales person. Sold me a nice boat for a fair price.
CJ answered all my questions I had.
Everyone was wearing a mask and they were very helpful and informative on what was I was looking for
Went in to look at a Lund and possibly trade in my Tracker. Luke helped me with finding and picking out a boat. He was very professional and helpful through the process. Wes in finance was also professional and courteous through the process. I had a great experience and will go back in 20 years when the woman lets me again. Thank you!
Pandemic Boat Buying Craze. My local Lund dealer was out of boats- who would know that people buy boats like crazy during a pandemic. I went up to Rapid Marine of Shakopee. They had a bunch of boats in inventory and you get to shop inside their new facility- nice on a 90 degree day. It was boat heaven. Bret Nash was my sales guy. Super friendly but let us have time to figure out what boat to get. He came back and gave some great advice and I am so glad we went with the bigger Lund 1650 Rebel XL. They even had color choices! Wes was the finance guy- super easy process- around an hour to sign the paperwork. They gave me a fair trade on my used boat and rigged my new boat up within a week. Took it out on Lake Pepin with some heavy chop and man, glad I bought bigger. :). I wish they were closer but worth an 1 1/2 drive. Thanks Bret and Wes!
I needed a part of my 2005 Glastron. They have the manuals and catalogs that I cant find online and was asking if they could order it. Since we werent going to spend a lot of money beyond the part, they werent interested in helping us.One thing I know from operating small businesses is that you never know where your next client is going to come from. I think this is a lesson they have yet to learn.
I needed to see the general manager but he was out. Brett in Sales helped me with everything I needed and offered great direction! I browsed the parts department and got help from Chris. They had a new guy working there who was also very helpful! He explained to me how to hook up a network system for my boat. I have 2 hummingbirds and a new trolling motor. He helped me get all the components and cables I needed. He even explained how to connect everything! The GPS puck he sold me took care of the hitch I ness I had with my mapping. These guys are the answer head quarters. I strongly recommend taking all of your services toR & R Marine!
Pleasant experience. Friendly and courteous.
I would give a NEGATIVE rating if it was a choice. Stay away and buy a boat elsewhere or any services for your boat or any products you might want. I bought a $35,000 2020 Lund Impact 1775 Sport fishing package with the boat, Came with trolling motor and Helix 7 Chirp GPS G3N fish finder. It took a week and half to be ready for me to pick up. Once i picked up the boat and got it home. Going through paperwork the next day. Found that they installed the wrong Fish finder. Helix 7 chirp GSP G2N on the boat. That is the OLD version of that model and i was supposed to have the new model. I had called the following morning to let them know the screw up and the gentleman that answer the phone just laughed. Stated im not laughing at you just with you. Didnt think it was a funny matter since i spent $35,000. Got Transferred to Bret Nash the salesman and left a voice mail. Waited close to 5 hrs for a call back and decided i would call them back cause that was sufficient time to wait. Talked with Michael, He was at least willing to help kind of solve the problem. He recognized the mistake and said they have the correct one. They wanted me to bring the boat back in to swap out the head and Transducer! They wanted me to leave my boat there for 3 or 4 days so this could be done. (20 MIN PROJECT). They would not give any compensation and customer service was TERRIBLE. Basically said do it yourself, leave boat there 3 or 4 days or return the boat for a refund. AGAIN I WOULD STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE. They are so willing to take your money as fast as they can but not willing to help much if THEY screw something up when you buy a brand new boat.
Great service, bought our boat over the phone, any out standing work needed to ensure boat was water ready was promptly handled, Would buy from again.
NEVER AGAIN!Drove 25 miles to purchase parts from them. Stood in line for five minutes at parts counter before I was even acknowledged. First words out of parts guy were, ...What do you need?Paid for part, and stood there. After 60 seconds of awkward silence, parts guy looked at me and said, ...You need something else?Yes. How about a Thank You for shopping at your store...Parts guys response was the following, and is a direct quote- I was too busy.Got it- too busy to spend ONE SECOND thanking a customer for their business. Ill be heading somewhere else next time. And, no doubt, Ill spread this story at every opportunity.
Because of the road construction it is a place that is hard to get to the front door. The people there were helpful. We got what we wanted, but it cost us more than we should of paid, I think.
I put money down on a boat to hold it after I got done with the sales men I decided not to buy so then the sales man told me that if I dont buy the boat it was sold at another deale. So I went to check the website the boat was still there and up for sale so he lied to me what a jackass
I have purchased 2 new boats from R & R Marine. Great experience with both. First was in 2005 and they helped me purchase a boat while deployed in Iraq (over the phone) so I could use it on my 2 week vacation back to the states. They were amazing. The second was on 8/28/18 I worked with Bret and it was the easiest buying experience I have been through. Boat was ready for pickup in less than 48 hours with all my graphs, trolling motor, etc there ready to rock. Bret was very helpful and the guys in service/parts are great. I will be back.
Had a small warranty issue with one of my seats, no questions ask they swapped it out for another one and sent me on my way. Would buy again from them in.
They had the part I needed for my outboard. I will be shopping there again!
I thought the staff was very helpful
Went to RR marine after a bad experience trying to buy a boat at another dealer. Lucas helped me find the exact boat i was looking for. Within 30 min i had the boat i wanted, and at a price that beat the other dealers! Great experience and staff! Thanks Lucas!
If youre looking for a Lund boat this is by far the best place to get one. Friendly, courteous and informative. No pressure sales. Took me 3 years to decide on a boat and when I finally did they had one to my exact specifications within 24 hours.
R and R Marine. . . Great place to get YOUR boat! Im very apprehensive and skeptical, I always feel I’m not going to get a good deal, (even when I do) but Brett made the experience enjoyable. He explained everything, showed me how to use, operate, and do everything to keep the boat looking and running like new. Chris in parts gave me tips on how to make my fishing experience better, all around a very positive experience. Thanks R & R Marine, Brett, and Chris for making this a great experience, I’m proud to own a boat from R & R Marine. The way they treat customers is something LUND should be proud of.
Extremely helpful even though I didnt buy from them. Answered all my questions. Will definitely consider buying my next boat here.
Had a great experience with sales and their finance people. (Realized I was out of checks when I went to pay, and my debit card had a limit on daily transaction and they were more than accommodating in working with me so I could take the boat home)Upon delivery our salesman noticed the tongue jack wasnt working, so they replaced on the spot. He also noticed there were not straps so gave me new ones of those two.Fast forward a couple days I try putting the boat in the water and there was an issue with the starter, so currently they are replacing that.I call that great after sales care. The fact they gave me such a good deal on the boat, and they are taking this good of care is definitely keeping me as a happy customer and would not hesitate to buy from them again.
Buying the boat was easy. Getting the registration another story. They had it for weeks before mailing it. Tara has done nothing but lied from sauk Rapids. The registration didnt even come complete. Still had to go to dmv for tags.
CS guys where very helpful. Tough to get to right now as the road construction is in full swing. Just waiting to see if Creatliner boats will step up to the plate on warrenty
I would highly recommend not going to r and r for any kind of service, weve been there three times in the shop for the same problem and its still not fix so we have to take it in the shop for the fourth time. The latest time we got it out of the shop we have no steering response from the motor which almost cause my dad to loose control of the boat. Im highly disappointed in the way they do business. Which now safety is my main concern since you have no response from steering. Were unable to use the boat this weekend because of them and now seeking to rent a boat so we can actually be able to fish for our fishing trip this weekend.
Horrible experience! Was in town for the day with intent to purchase a boat and came in with my family, Brett didn’t want to help us or assist in selling a boat because we had spoken wih someone on the phone the day prior. He was rude and not helpful. Turned us away!!! My wife even said, “Wow! He was rude and definitely didn’t care to help get our family in a boat!”
Really wish I could give negative stars. I needed a new lower unit. They quoted me $5000 to have it replaced. I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion and was quoted $3500 less than R and R. I had also had them do some other work on my boat in the past year and the issues really never got fixed after spending almost $2000. My family had been taking our boats here for over 15 years. I will NEVER take my boat back to this place.
Needed some parts to fix my motor before a trip. They went above and beyond to get me my parts the next day. Super happy with the service department and they will be my go to moving forward.Thank you!
They have a good selection of parts at decent prices. Staff seem knowledgeable and friendly
ZERO, I REPEAT ZERO STARS! DONT DO BUSINESS WITH BRET. I was an out of town prospect from 4 1/2 hours away looking to buy a used bass boat. It was priced about 2k under the book price so I wanted to make sure what I was getting into before committing to a 9 hour round trip. I initially had a conversation with Bret over text messaging to find out some more info about the boat and then called when I was more serious about making the drive and pulling a boat home. We talked two time over the phone and I made it clear to Bret I did NOT want ANY surprises if Im going to come up and buy this boat. He told me the boat was good to go and also answered all my questions I had. The problem was that he lied to me about the questions I asked. Example, #1 I asked about the prop, he said there was one ding... Not only was the prop shredded but the lower unit clicked when you turned the prop (the trade in sheet even said that the prop needed replaced). #2 I asked if everything on the boat worked and he said everything worked as it should... It didnt. #3 The rear axle on the tandem trailer was towed in so bad that the existing tire was completely balled on the outside and you could see the steel strands... I couldnt have even driven the rig back home... #4 I asked if there were any dings or gashes down to the fiber glass and he told me no it has some normal wear and tear since its a used boat but nothing bad.... the boat was completely scratched up and I found three or four gashes down to fiberglass before I stopped looking and left. To top it off I drove all that way up there and Bret passed the bull to another salesman that had no clue what Bret had just got him into and there was no manager there to report this too. I dont know how this Bret guy does this for a living and if this is how this marina operates I would high suggest going somewhere else. I wish I was writing a five star review and had a awesome bass boat sitting in my garage ready to go fishing this weekend...
Great customer service and parts to get if they dont stock it. I havent bought a boat there but I have heard they are reasonable.
Out of the way, but simple to buy.
Buying a boat was quick and easy.
Price on Mercury parts is reasonable and will help make sure you get the right ones.
This is the kind of place I am willing to travel to for a nine dollar part, or a five hundred dollar service job. My first visit was for an overhaul on a lower unit for my Yamaha 9.9 kicker. A buddy recommended R&R. I made the trip and these guys were on top of it. accurate, fair and on time. After that excellent experience I now drive all the way from Orono to do business with these guys. Its not enough to hang a shingle that says parts & service. You gotta know the parts and deliver the service. These guys do that consistently! When a quasi do-it-yourselfer like me gets into a project, you need someone that knows how to read schematics and understand your challenges. Recently I was stumped in a fuel system and one call and a drive to Shakopee had me up and running again. Excellent service, quality people, great well stocked place. I could go on and on. This is my go to marine store, even if I have to go a long way. They have earned my business!
This is an experience from a couple of years ago but still lingers. I was a customer of the original R&R marine / Ron & Roman. They had a wonderfull business reputation in the area, & did everything on my boat including annual winterizing and I also shopped their showroom for all my marine needs. Then there was a buyout & new owners. Long story short, after draining the grease out of the lower unit, they forgot to replace the screw and put new fluid in. I only do slow cruises infrequently around the shore of Prior Lake so the physical signs of running without fluid didnt appear for awhile. When the lower unit finally gave out, I then noticed that they never finished the winterizing work, as the drain screw was not even there and when I approached the new owners service manager about this he looked at me in bewilderment like why are you asking me? Never offered a red cent to help me out with this 2 thousand dollar fix or take any responsibility for their action. Parts at cost and a couple of bucks off the retail labor rate would have been sufficient for me to remain a customer let alone just taking care of their carelessnes. This is only the 3rd review in my life, and the best example of how a business can rid itself of a loyal customer of 15 years and never see him again. I never quibbled about price, and always paid my bill promptly. This had to be said.
Brought my boat in on the way up norrh dropped it off and came back in a couple hours and it was ready to go. Motor ran great after they changed the plugs
I had a great boat buying experience with Kalen and the team at R & R Marine. Kalen is very knowledgable and was very intuitive to what our needs were in a new boat. Frank took great care of us on a couple extras we were looking for and Doug, Doug Jr, Chris, and Dean in the service/parts department answered all the questions my wife and I had about our new boat/accessories.
Went in to buy a ranger. Salesman gave me a price, I told him I needed to go outside and call my wife. I made a few more phone calls while I was put there. About an hour later I went back inside ready to make the deal, then they said they told me the wrong price and jacked the price 5 grand. Then did nothing to try and make it right. The salesman was disgusted but said he couldnt do anything because his manager wouldnt let him. Never going back In there again.
Absolutely disgusting labor service. I was polite in asking for a depth finder install, stating I could do it myself but wanted a professional look not a hack looking job which I could do. Upon my pick up I saw greasy prints all over the place, silicon smeared and stuck on carpet. There were several completely stripped screws, missing screws and fasteners not even put back right. Carpet untucked and overlapped gap. I brought the salesman out and I think he was embarrassed. I was so disappointed. I did not ask for anything back but told him I would redo and finish the job right myself, what a waste of $200.
The pepole are nice but could be alittel more less an hour on the extras . with pepole that are buying form them. other why.s great .
Luke was our salesmen and he was great absolutely love this place was treated with respect and it was the best service i had been to 2 other dealers and no one treaded us like luke did !!!
Wish I could give it zero stars. They had my boat for double the time I was told. Extremely rude. When I got my boat back it was VERY dirty. They had let water pool inside of it for weeks on end so a few pieces of wood from the deck where ruined. Carpet stained now. Scratches on my engine cover. These guys are so bad that I wobt even complain because I dont trust them to fix it. They didnt charge me labor....but I have already found out they did not fix it anyways.
I had a great experience at R&R Marine. I purchased a boat from out of state and needed some extra paperwork completed as well as delivery. Frank and Lucas were professional and prompt in each interaction. The price was very good and the price quoted was what I paid, not a penny more. No games, no hassle.Furthermore Lucas preemptively made sure I had all the equipment I needed to tow and operate my new boat. Lucas also was able to get some paperwork completed that my state DMV requires (a vin inspection by a law enforcement official) within a few hours of my request. I was able to maintain a tight schedule for purchase and delivery. I used the boat on a vacation right after I purchased it.The delivery was a good experience as well. David brought my boat to me in excellent condition and made sure I knew everything I needed to about pulling it with my rig. This all took place over a holiday weekend when both Frank and Lucas were very busy. They always had the time to answer my questions and take care of me.I read the review below and was apprehensive but have had no problems with promptness or communication. Everything I ask for was accommodated quickly.
Nice location, knowligible staff, looking for parts
They are good n very busy. Not much helpful
Taken good care of the boat ! Summer and Winter
Service department always helpful!
Best buying experience Ive ever had.
Great people, products, and service!
No longer sells Johnson oils :(
To busy to care about the little guy. 3 weeks later and still waiting for boat.
They tell you two different prices when getting a quote but insist that the higher ones the right one of course not very good customer service
Very helpful.
Great service!

Everybody is friendly
