I enjoy the small town feel of True Value in the Junction in West Seattle for some garden items. However I am a person of color and I don’t feel very welcomed at times from some of the older staff particularly some the cashiers it’s happened one to many times so I will spend my money elsewhere like Home Depot or Amazon

Awesome service and knowledgable staff at this place! I was looking for an incredibly weird adapter for a portable washing machine hookup (a male-female adapter in a combination of sizes that didnt seem to exist.) An employee (I think her name was Sunny) found a couple of us ransacking the hardware aisle, checked all the sizes for me and eventually spotted that the piece I was looking to adapt was threaded both internally and externally, meaning a female-female adapter (which actually existed in the sizes I needed) instead.Crazy refreshing to get help from someone who knows what theyre doing, compared to the bigger hardware stores where youre totally on your own — thank you!

I was not given the listed discount on a pair of gloves, because I was not “registered” at this particular store. Apparently it was too difficult of a task to “register” me during checkout. I will make the extra 5 minute drive to Home Depot for a better customer experience and better service.

Their customer service keeps getting better and better. For a non-warehouse store, they have a good selection.

Love love this store. For 40 years I have found everything I really needed there. The employees are like family to each other and always warm and very helpful. Also there are always enough people working that someone is available and willing to help you find what you need.

We just moved to West Seattle and went to Junction TrueValue today for the first time. We are so glad that we did. They are a locally owned TrueValue so we are happy to support a small and local business!The staff was super helpful in helping us find what we needed. They were so kind. The cashiers were great as well. They have a great selection of items to choose from as well.They also made copies of our house keys for us as well and did an excellent job in doing so. My absolute favorite store to shop in! Im like a kid in a candy store there, and Im a woman! All I ever ask for in a gift is a True Value gift Card. They have a little bit of everything, and spring and Christmastime decorations are the best! Right now they are bursting with Spring flowers to plant. And theyve made the place so Female-friendly with Womens Day events and just in items they stock, while still carrying the traditional hardware, tools, and other handyman items. Junction True Value truly represents an invaluable part of neighborhood community .

I came in with a pepper grinder that was stripped. It was a homemade gift and I hoped to fix it. The man at the paint counter helped me. He took it to customer services and rethreaded it. He wasnt sure if that would work but I took it home and it works now! The cashier was very friendly as well. I love this local business.

This is our Amazon Prime in W Seattle. Very helpful and friendly staff and I go in there and find what I had been wanting. Last visit was for some plants/ gardening accessories and magnet hangs that I can use on refrigerator as well as my kitchen hood.

I took my Stihl string trimmer in for service. Before I was done describing my problem JD jumped in and fixed it while I waited. The price I paid was very reasonable. People like JD are why I will make the drive to Junction True Value Hardware. There are still businesses who understand that customer service is key.

The staff are down home, wonderful people, and make you feel right at home. They assisted me where to find my items. When I was checking out, I made a comment that the burner wasnt the right size and had different type of prongs. She told me to try it, and if it didnt work, I should go to Wisemans Appliance for assistance. I did, and they tested my old burner and it was fine. Turned out to be the switch. Ace gladly refunded my money. Will definitely be back.

Maybe ok for in-and-out visits. Nice inventory. Clearance sale was interesting. But apparently I spent far too long browsing when I had some free time and I was confronted in a shameful manner by a large and surly inked thug/manager. This man blocked the aisle I was walking towards and accused me of walking in circles. In explaining myself, I was then asked why I was getting in his face. I then had an item of merchandise taken from my hands after considering it and attempting to place it back on the shelf.

Friendly people who understand their inventory and are not afraid to send me off to Home Depot if they dont have what Im looking for. Fortunately, they always had what I needed. Great local hardware store - beats driving out to Delridge!

Love this store - unlike the big box chains you will have someone asking you if you need help within 5 minutes of entering... not in a pushy way, but in a fully knowledgeable, I can help you way. And they can. The knowledge set of the experienced staff is impressive. Everyone is nice here. They pack an astounding amount into a tiny store. Truly a West Seattle gem.

(Yes I asked)They can answer your questions, and have competitive prices.Sure, you might find one or two things cheaper from Amazon, but what do you want the world to be like?Fight the big box, packaging wasteland; support local, real, quality.

Could not have had the worst experience ever today; rude and arrogant employee in paint department, Elwood; seemed annoyed and irritated to have to do his job.I spoke with his manager Josh who was polite and listened to my complaint.Unfortunately this is not an isolated occurrence at this store; either employees are amazing or rude; very little in between.I keep tying to give this local store my business but would rather drive 20 minutes to avoid the hassle.

My go to spot for my house needs. Last trip I bought a ton of lamp oil and a silicone based lubricant. It was a true thrill. But seriously, the staff has always been helpful with me. They are kind and courteous.

Was a very loyal customer but no longer. Bought a drill set this weekend and the batteries wouldn’t charge. We exchanged it for a new one that had the same problem, so I took it to a Milwaukee service center and discovered they were selling 5 year old drills with totally flat batteries as new. They currently have several of them on display- I told them about the problem and they told me not to worry about it, and had originally blamed my wife for not knowing how to use a charger when she exchanged the first set.

The employees are helpful and knowledgeable. If they dont know the answer they will find someone who does instead of guessing or just not helping.

This place is a marvel. Despite being much smaller than the big box stores, it seems that its likely theyll still have what youre looking for. The staff here is always very friendly and very knowledgeable, and thats what makes this store such a neighborhood treasure. On Thanksgiving weekend, my friend and I were building a large piece of furniture, and discovered late in the process that wed mismeasured something very early on. He wanted to take the whole thing apart, but I suggested the Junction True Value, and sure enough there was a staff member there who does furniture restoration on the side, and was able to give us a simple idea that saved us days of work and hundreds of dollars of material.

This is the friendliest store! Everyone is so helpful and kind and very, very knowledgeable. Its my go to store as I find everything I need there, from gardening to home repair to just fun things. I love coming up with projects and then going there and throwing my ideas out and getting input.

Spent the weekend in West Seattle helping my son with some plumbing projects on his new house, a 1925 fixer upper. We had lots of questions: how to get the old cast iron drain apart, how to connect pex to the old galvanized, and they had every part or tool we needed. We thought we were going to need another $50 of parts to finish up but when we told them what we needed to complete, they found a simple $10 solution.

Such a great place. I went to Home Depot last week and had an awful experience. Came back to True Value and they were so helpful and friendly. It was also super easy to return some things I bought a few weeks ago.

Our neighborhood hardware store that seems to have everything I need for home fix-it projects. Store is smaller than most and the aisles are narrow. They pack a lot into the space. Cost tends to be more than the big home stores but, you cant beat the convenience of having a hardware store close by. Staff is always helpful.

They were so fantastic! They went above and beyond to help my sister and I get screws that would fit her license plate, the woman working drilled out the old screws and drilled the new ones in for us too, so incredibly helpful!

Ive relied on Junction True Value since I bought my house in West Seattle nearly twenty years ago. They have a great stock, but more important they have really knowledgeable staff. Ive come to them for paint, plumbing and electrical stuff, garden stuff, misc tools, large and small, all the stuff that a house needs (and came up with a cheap effective fix for my car always fogging up). Theyre always patient and helpful in a way that the staff at a place like Home Depot just isnt. Plus they really are part of the neighborhood. I love being able to support them, because theyve sure supported me with their good advice all these years.We also asked them at one point if they could recommend a handyman, and they suggested someone terrific who weve now used for 15 years.

You can almost always find even the little dodas or unusual screw...
