Absolutely the greatest guitar shop on the face of this Earth, after my Dads passing no one in the family paid any instruments and they sent in the basement for years. A gentleman I went to high school with recommended coming here to help me figure out what to do after a few emails and photos back and forth I made the trip over. The gentleman that helped me did nothing but educate me on what I had what was going on and what is the most polite individual ever in a situation they truly care about what they do theyre not just people doing a job for people with a passion and they are here to help people and educate them and I feel as though theyre done just that for me again the greatest guitar shop on the planet thank you guys very much
Have purchased guitars from the Portland and Seattle stores and both are awesome! Great selection, no pressure, friendly staff. Purchased a Fender Telecaster online from the Seattle store on Tuesday, got an e-mail from Frank within about 5 minutes which included the tracking # and a nice Thank You. Received the guitar the next afternoon packed perfectly and as described. That is service. A+++++ !
One of few truly awesome vintage guitar stores in the PNW.
I took my Friedman amp to get worked on there and not only did it come back faster than they said it would.... It sounded better than it ever has. I couldnt stop playing my guitar. It just sounded so good!
Really awesome place with good gear. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The service in this store was wonderful 😊 very down to earth. Great prices as well... you can’t find the deals online though 😕 but understandable. So make sure you stop and look inside‼️The guys took care of us and acted as if we knew them from years ago ...Now that’s my kind of service. Thanks gentlemen we will be back 👌
The best service- just got my old Martin guitar set up- and it plays like new- so worth the 70 bucks. If I could tip I would. I totally put my trust in this small guitar shop! Please consider them for any of your guitar needs!Totally 100% worth itIt’s nice to experience true professionals in their craft!
Excellent shop, great gear, and fair prices. The staff is so friendly and they go out of their way to ensure your happiness.Ive been shopping there with some regularity for the past year, and ill continue to buy guitar equipment from them as long as i live in seattle.
I was bored one night searching the internet and stumbled upon a 1993 Fender Strat AV 57 Reissue. Upon reading the description my jaw hit the floor when I read that the neck was stamped with my birthday AND year. I called the shop the next morning and they were kind enough to take the neck off the guitar to send a pic to confirm the date. I purchased the guitar immediately, they shipped it out the next day and it arrived on my door step a few days later, safe and sound. I always enjoy shopping local, but in this case the power of the internet connected me with a family owned business 2,300 miles away whom happened to have my holy grail birthday guitar. I hope one day my travels bring me to Seattle to thank Frank in person for listing this beautiful Strat online.
I took my beloved acoustic guitar for repair and set up. It sounds amazing and was finished 3 days before promised!
Best shop hands down. professional rockstars!!
Nice crew, beautiful guitars!
Excellent guitar dealer! I got a 1984 Les Paul shipped to Germany in 2019, everything was exactly as described and pictured. I would definitely buy there again!
I have picked up a fender strat and a vox amp from these guys. I also made a huge mistake and didn’t get my new fender jazz master from the shop and I ordered directly from fender (never do this btw).I brought in my axes for a set up and found out that the new guitar from fender is a lemon. If the shop doesn’t have what you are looking for they can order one for you. Best shop great crew. 5star service.
Best guitar shop in Seattle, hands down!
Excellent service. I am not in Seattle, but in Romania, Europe. This company is serious, answers quickly and can be trusted - recommended!
I recently purchased a Martin 000-18 Adirondack spruce from Thunder Road and couldn’t be happier! Friendly informative staff who took time to answer all my questions. The guitar was expertly set up and packed for shipping. I would gladly do business with them again. Great shop!
Horrible web site!
Purchased a guitar online via Reverb.com last week and the stores customer service was impeccable! Looking forward to picking it up at FedEx today. Thank you for all of your help Thunder Road!
The service here is great and everyone is really knowledgeable and help out other local companies selling musical equipment, if you need some sort of musical equipment do yourself a favor and check here first if youre local.
Best guitar/amp store Ive ever worked with - - and Ive been to them all! Frank (the owner) is trusted, a wealth of knowledge and a great guy. Great staff with the highest level of customer service.
Love this spot. Amazing collection of beautiful instruments and amps, will let you sit and play for a bit just for fun. A west Seattle icon.
I recently purchased a 1959 ES-335 reissue which was described as in near perfect condition. I had been searching for this guitar – at a reasonable price and in this condition – for more than a year. Not only was the depiction accurate, the price was more than competitive and, to make the transaction even better, the staff were extremely helpful and professional. Shipping of the instrument was extremely well done and expert. A great experience!Dr. Charles Saunders
Great selection, nice facility, wonderful customer service!
Exceptionally kind people and always stocked with very cool pieces every time I’ve been in. Very patient and very helpful.
I had been looking for a gold top Les Paul 60s tribute and found one on Thunder Roads site. Ive never bought an instrument over the internet having not played it. Even worse, I am on the East coast and they are in the West coast so I cant just drop in if there is an issue. If you share these same reservations, rest easy. I spoke to the staff and they relieved my concerns. I opened the guitar on Christmas and it was exactly in the condition expected, super well packed and protected. I explained how I wanted it set up and it was absolutely perfect.Really good guys, flexible and instrument was priced right at market.Great buying experience. Would purchase again and recommend them without hesitation.
Easy to work with. I was treated well.
Alex treated me very well. I love my Deluxe Reverb.
Top notch service! Excellent, knowledgeable and courteous staff. Great selection!
Great staff, great selection!!
The staff is great, both knowledgeable and approachable. Their guitar techs are first-rate. And their inventory of used instruments and amplifiers is fantastic! A great mix of instruments and price ranges.
I was pleased when I learned there was a guitar shop in West Seattle. However, Thunder Road guitars exceeded my expectations.! This shop is filled with knowledgeable professionals who enjoy making sure you find the right piece of gear for you. Will definitely return.
I just purchased an amazing 1995 Epiphone Regent jazz box from Thunder Road and cannot recommend them highly enough. On-line purchasing of instruments can be a bit unnerving but the folks at Thunder Road made it easy. They answered all my questions quickly, shipped the instrument out right away, offered it at a great price, and the guitar was in superb condition. They clearly care about getting vintage instruments into the hands of musicians.
This is a really cool store. Wide variety of vintage guitars. They provide consignment and also take used guitar trade ins. The store is clean and the employees are helpful, albeit not very chatty. I am giving it four stars due to the high prices.
1963 Epiphone Texan.Excellent Service -Excellent Guitar -
This is a great medium-sized shop, with a really nice mix of vintage and modern gear. The service is very helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Recommended.
Nice guitars. But not being open on Sunday is super lame. How are you going to be closed on the single busiest day at the junction?
Old School Guitar Shop goodness. Great inventory, knowledgable staff, cool atmosphere.
Really nice guys with great customer service and a beautiful collection of instruments.
Theres a reason this place has been around so long.
The staff here was super helpful... not only did they fix the issue I was having but they showed me how to avoid it happening again...
Great selection of gear and friendly, helpful staff. They took their time to help me select my guitar and extras and gave me a fair price on my trade-ins.
I took my very first partscaster project to them for its final setup, and they did a stellar job making it play like a dream. Their selection of vintage guitars is wonderful, and I am stoked to have this store in my neighborhood.
Absolutely first-rate operation
Took my Martin in for a set-up. Quick turn-around and quality work. Nice selection of guitars as well.
Their guitar tech is fantastic, and they have a lot of cool guitars and amps.
Great store. Excellent service.
The 1990 Gibson Explorer I purchased here a couple years ago is still my favorite guitar. Every time I go to Seattle I make a point to stop in. Frank and his staff are always courteous.
