I believe this is the countrys biggest grocery consumer co-op. Im all about co-ops as a business model, so I gave five stars. I sometimes jokingly refer to PCC as the wall Mart of consumer co-ops. Which is a joke, of course its nothing at all like wall Mart, but relative to the smaller co ops that Im used to, it does feel closer to a normal grocer than say the three rivers market in Knoxville Tennessee, or the one in Bellingham, whatever its called. But Im not complaining, the workers are very nice and helpful, and it is a Co op, and those kinds of organizations deserve our support. And its right in the vortex of industrial Ballard. Instead of being a sign of gentrification in one of the last places in Seattle that hasnt experienced that, at least not to the extent that every other neighborhood has, I am considering it a sign of cooperative industrialization, collectivization of the working class here in Ballard. It joins a few other like minded organizations in this neighborhood, like cascadia art collective, and... Im sure there are others. These are the seeds of the future of humanity. Change is coming, it can either be a horror show, or it can be a liberating step towards utopia. Horror should be strictly confined to cinema in my opinion. Liberation, egalitarian democracy, sustainability, people over profit, these things need to become the realityif we are going to avoid the real life horror show. Shopping at a co op is a nice first step towards making that happen.

One of my favorite places in the area to get health conscious food. The ready to go meals are always amazing, healthy, and unique. Fish is very fresh. Very nice selection of organic produce. It’s pricey but comparable to Central Market, Whole Food/Paycheck, etc.

Good selection of all things, helpful staff, good store layout.

This store is absolutely gorgeous. From the moment you walk in and see the neat Octopus hanging from the ceiling to the expertly merchandised products, the attention to detail, the fresh selections, and all the helpful staff, there is just something that feels exquisite about this store. The hot bar is pretty tasty too. The only negative is that this store is removed from many of the apartment buildings in Ballard, so it can be inconvenient to shop here if you dont have a car.

Love the fresh local fruit options. And the butcher here is friendly and willing to answer questions. And the quality of meat is great. Next time I am going to have to try the pizza here. I have heard great things about it. The whole place smelled like fresh pizza - it was all I could think about while standing in line!!

And Im Sorry to say, Im taking off 2 Stars for incredibly RUDE and Unfriendly Team at this location, Even the Store Manager-Who is obviously the reason for such poor team attitudes!😑 It always comes from the top down!**Spacious, open inviting natural grocery store and cafe in the heart of Ballard. PCC is a great Co-Op in the Seattle metro area offering many local sourced fresh produce and meats. This location just opened today, Nov 13, 2019. Check out the photos. Large supplement and natural body care section. Fresh well stocked produce, meats, deli, packaged goods, etc. Food Bars featuring fresh produce for build your own salad, prepared salads, hot soups, hot prepared foods, pizza bar, a Taqueria, deli sandwiches, etc. The new wine, beer, cider, and seafood cafe is great and priced right. The Rooftop patio is amazing with views of Ballard Bridge and the water looking towards the Aurora bridge. Free, spacious parking. Gender Neutral Restroom Area... sinks are in an open shared space-so dont be surprised!

UPDATE: I am very grateful that the store director wrote me a beautiful long email. Im happy to go back to the store and see some better attitudes of the people Im shopping with. I hope that PCC is creating a positive impact to our community of small businesses in Ballard.OLD review:Im not impressed by the store anymore after the poor treatment from a cashier. I expect you to say hello or goodbye or at least offer the people behind us with her arms full space to put things down. The holidays are hard on everybodybut not having basic manners or being courteous to other people is unacceptable from customer service jobs. At least the lady in cosmetics was friendly and helpful. But Im going to stick to Ballard Market for better customer service and prices.

About the same size as Fremont PCC. Has great selections of healthy groceries. Their salad bar and hot deli are top notch! Also there is a cafe past the cashier sections where you can order food and drinks.There is a DLine stop nearby which is very convenient for bus riders! 👍🚌

Had a salmon soup with the cheese bread very good for a light lunch.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good product. The bakery is awesome. Food bar is great. And its a consumer co-op. I believe the biggest one in the country. Its like the Walmart of co-ops. Just kidding, I shouldnt reference Walmart anywhere in this review. But I did. Twice. Dont go to Walmart, go to a co-op. Cool energy efficient building too. Pretty neat.

There almost seems to be a glut of these super-trendy upscale markets coming to town... This one is right across the street from a TJs... A poor location choice, I think... Im still not sure why I went here, when Id still much rather go to TJs for super-trendy upscale items... Oh, I know... Its because of the price.

Great grocery store overall. I used to shop at the Greenlake PCC, but switched to this one when I moved to Ballard. The only issue I’ve been having lately is a lot of my favorite items have been out of stock recently.

Tiny parking lot, but beautiful store layout and interior. Smaller than other PCCs, but impressively large to-go section.

Coffee is fair to good, coffee price is good.It becomes time consuming when the barista makes you go and pay for it first at the regular check stand and come back.The Freemont location did not do that to me.They have good selection of cookies and baked goods at medium to premium prices.No/Poor Enter/Exit signs in the underground parking garage.

Food is more expensive than other natural grocers. Might be cheaper if you are a member but I am unsure how much you would have to shop there to offset the cost of membership. Good selection of organic and non-gmo produce and products.

Modern addition to the PCC empire - airy and well laid out. Awesome deli, comprehensive organic produce and more types of Kefir than previously thought possible by scientists.

I come here just for pie and the rose lemonade but the vegan selection is unmatched and the produce is the freshest in town so I always leave with more.

I was expecting more of a selection for how big this store is. I also stood at the deli counter for what seemed like an eternity and noone greeted me or acknowledged me, so I left. I also tried to get a Sammy at the other counter, same thing. I really wanted to like it, but after a couple trips and the same things, Im probably going to stick to other places. *shrug*

I lovvveee PCC markets. They have such great selections and the fruits and veggies never disappoint. I don’t shop here often anymore because the pricing is just above what is reasonable for our family. But I do grab things occasionally!

Great shop lots to choose from they also have vegan gluten free paleo and keto foods.

Worst produce in town. Its like they store all produce for a minimum two weeks before they put it out for sale. Everything always seems so old.

I find this store to have most of what you would want to find in such a place but its lacking in some common necessities.

First of all I do like the spacious layout and design of the store. It is also a very convenient location. However, this particular store is very mismanaged.Half of the times I have been there their refrigeration broke down and they could sell no products from the refrigerated section which made half of the items in the store inaccessible to customers. I can understand that this happens once, but this is a recurrent event and it seems nothing has been done to fix it. The other half of the time at least one section of their store is close to empty since they have run out of an entire product section. For instance, the produce section usually has large empty spots. I should note that this was already the case before the pandemic and has persisted until now. I agree with the other reviewers that the Fremont PCC is way better and I will only go there from now on even though the location is slightly less convenient for us. The Fremont PCC also has a better prepared foods bar and makes pizza.I want to stress that none of that is the fault of the employees. On the contrary. I have continued to go there since the employees have always been exceptionally nice and tried to make the best of the limited situation. The problems here are definitely higher up the chain.

It was a lovely experience. Staff very helpful when asking where a certain product. Their sea food section was so fresh & packaged portions I needed. My sister & I enjoyed our shopping experience today. Thank you.

This is now the location I visit most frequently. Theres a very good product selection, and its also very convenient for me because Im in the area a lot.

Very beautiful store. Layout is a little strange with the store being split in half by the deli and the cooking class area. It made the registers feel hidden. I found myself walking back and forth trying to figure out where items were located. Something to be prepared for, and does not affect giving a high praise of what the store offers and its generally high level of cleanliness.

Ballard PCC is easy to get to. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The store has a nice openness to it, filled with natural light. Nicely laid out as well.

PCC is the best supermarket in the Seattle area. They have the absolute best section and cleanest facilities.

Its good, better than I expected, given the neighborhood, and by neighborhood I mean skanky, industrial part of town, which is fine, dont get me wrong, we need industrial areas to build things, but yuppies shouldnt live there.You can find a lot of good food, great atmo, and lots of biz going on, but its strictly yuppie town. If youre looking for Safeway or QFC level food and snackage, fugeddaboudit. Go to Fred Meyers close by.

This was my first time visiting PCC Market. Their product, from groceries, meat to snacks are of the top quality for sure, but I was just shocked by their price. Most of normal product like eggs, chicken and greens are about 1.5X price of whole foods and 2X of safeway. I personly dont think they worth that much. In one word, this is an amazing store, shopping here would mean you have a lot of money to spend for food.

New store. Everyone seems to still be getting the hang of things. Even though larger than the Fremont store if you are looking for pre-prepared dinners/deli case, the Fremont store has a better selection. Have always had a nice experience here though and all staff are very friendly.

Spacious, clean store. The Marion Berry Jam Biscuit and Snickedoodle cookies are pretty good. Highly recommend the Apple Blueberry Crumble Pie!

Great hot food buffet (lots of variety) and a salad buffet as well. Nice cheese selections. A variety of sweets, cake slices, etc. Free fruit or veggie for the kids.

Fail a store in North America because the employees suffer from psychological problems ... Those who do not speak English I advise not to go to this store. Because they will deal with him racially ... Almost all of the workers have two elements ... I am a colorist. I went to buy a sandwich. Treat me with hate ... and there is no colored factor.

BEST OF THE BEST. They are taking Covid seriously and sanitizer and protocol signs throughout the store. Always friendly staff and best grocery store restroom *ever*.

All day today the refrigeration was out of order and a place as this should have a back up generator because Safeway and other grocery chains have no problem.There attitude was something else when ask if it would be back on later and I was given a edcation on what would happen if they would let me get a can of juice and Im disabled woman who has been shopping with PCC for many years but I think I will try some other organic store.

Regardless of what folks like Mr Ramos says the store is amazing just like all other locations. Super cool stuff....always friendly and helpful. PCC is definitely number one among all grocery stores in our region. Lots of my coworkers shop there and they love it. Ballard definitely need one !!!!!

Bland -- no music, digital ads, or ambience. Generally understocked or poor quality produce compared to Columbia City or Uptown locations. The butchers and deli folks are like zombies who only speak to each other. Parking is plentiful underneath the store. However the egress paths are very narrow and hampered by poor sight distances from perpendicular traffic.There are maybe two or three out of 10 clerks who are friendly at the register. One fairly tall, frumpy woman who wears glasses and had sort of reddish hair is super unpleasant...she moves super slow, does not take pride in her work, and has poor communication skills. Not sure how long this place will last.

My favorite grocery store in the PNW

PCC is a refreshing addition to Ballards grocery options. Staff was helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. They have a great deli and food bar as well as a restaurant that offers some great seafood dishes and wines. I recommend this place.

Started my day breaking a mug that means a lot to me, and continued it with a major issue at work. Needless to say, I was having a bad day. Went to PCC for a quick lunch and they put the first smile on my face of the day.The gentleman working the sandwich area was incredibly polite, friendly, and great about setting expectations (even though my sandwich was only going to “take about five minutes”). The lady working the register was fantastic as well, and the lady bagging my stuff was great.Couple that with getting back to work and taking a bite of that amazing Cubano sandwich and you have a winning recipe. Strong work PCC! Truly and honestly turned my day around.

Wow! Attended the Grand Opening today and was really happy to do so! Instead of a ribbon cutting, there was a cutting of winter squash, along with complimentary coffee from Tonys, mini donuts from Mighty-O, and a live band playing as well. There will be more grand openings for this growing chain Im sure -- get on their email list so you dont miss the next one (that was my strategy, at least).Inside, were wonderful samples of pumpkin pie, Autumnal orzo salad, cheese, sausage, apples, etc. In the beauty section there were samples of soap and different shampoos and facial creams (for my 2 year, I snagged wonderful samples of a childrens shampoo and detangler from a local company in Bellevue called Gabriels, who knew)?!The store is beautifully laid out. We wound up just buying a few things, but the highlight was a bag of satsuma mandarins! I have never had such juicy citrus!Here was the highlight of my trip here: THE ROOF!! There is a wonderful living roof with roughly 50 seats and even more room for standing, with wonderful views of the Ballard Bridge and water.Lastly, parking was a breeze!!! The garage is spacious!!! I have stopped even trying to park in the Ballard Blocks II garage -- but they got it right here!Pro tips:1) It is not advertised, but children are welcome to choose any piece of fruit for themselves2) If you become a member of PCC, you can get a 10% discount once a month.

PCC folks are super friendly, but dont ask them for help as they call another person who will literally point in the direction of whatever item you are looking for instead walking with you to help find it. This has been the case at every PCC Ive been to. Sigh.. expensive place but poor service.

Terrible use of space.

First time visiting this location and was disappointed. Very bratty young female cashier that ignored me for a few minutes then proceeded to be not nice. Such a large space yet I couldn’t find the shampoo and conditioner I needed they only have a super small selection then the person working in bath and body was awful.

This just opened across the street from my favorite grocer, Trader Joes. I shopped once upon a time at the PCC in Fremont but stopped, why? The prices I felt were extremely high on most items, the deli servings were a little to bland and under seasoned for my personal taste but most of all it was the employee attitude. I generally felt like I was not worthy to shop at the PCC. Well the new PCC is beautiful if a bit sparse but the employee attitude is the same as in Fremont. I will not be back.

The manager who was on staff this afternoon. Shorter guy with salt and pepper hair named Steve, extremely rude and confrontational with customers including myself. I regret spending money at this store and will surely never come back and instruct others who want decent customer service to go else where.

Ive been coming to this store since it opened and I also shop at all the pcc stores because I eat all organic but if it wasnt for that the treatment to customers is horrible! This lady named EMMA who works there had nothing better to do than to falsely accuse me of shoplifting today when I exclusively spend all my money at these stores!

Clean, sterile (including the customer experience) and expensive. Being I know what one usually gets in a PCC, I would have rated this 4 stars...But the parking lot is a nightmare. I feel like I am risking damage to my car every time I go.

Love the bulk selection. Bring your own containers, weigh them at the front, then fill with bulk items.
