I needed mirrors installed for a new business. Rick and Dave were great! They showed up right on time for both the estimate and the install. Installation was fast and clean, and they were fun to talk with! I also spoke with Susan in the office, great customer service. They had really competitive pricing, but the customer service set them apart.

I had called many places looking for a quote for a piece of glass to protect my coffee table. I was having trouble even getting any place to respond. Perkins answered the phone, gave me a very detailed (and reasonable) quote, and then had the glass ready the next day. Highly recommend.

I ordered seven custom panes of glass for my artwork. Actually my art school final gallery exhibit. The glass turned out perfect and completed my pieces. The price was unbelievably fair and they were ready in hours. I am so grateful to Perkins for helping me with my work. So pleased with the quality.

I called this company this morning to inquire about getting a piece of glass cut for a piece of furniture in my salon. The lady who answered the phone was THE rudest person I’ve ever spoken to over the phone. It was almost as if she was mad that I had even bothered her. She has NO customer service skills and probably shouldn’t be answering their phones. Just direct and nasty. I hope her day goes better and if she is just that way..... I feel sorry for the people she has to be around.

Been buying glass and mirror from Mr. Perkins for years. Best prices in town and always perfectly accurate cuts. Their own website mentions the idiosyncrasies of this family owned business, but you overlook those to do business with a Seattle institution, locally-owned for over 100 years.

I just came from picking up some glass that I had made to order at Perkins. I bought a new coffee table recently and decided that I should have a glass sheet on it - for protection against scratches and stains. I called Perkins only a few days ago - and its already on top of my table and looking great! When I went in to pick it up, the sales lady was super friendly and gave me tips on protecting it from damage while loading it into the car. She also took time out to have a conversation (unrelated to glass) with me - which I thought was so nice. It was a real experience, opposed to a phony give me your money and leave scenario. I certainly wish that there were more businesses in Seattle that offered the no nonsense service and such fantastic prices as Perkins does!

Poor Customer Service --- This lady was Rude and I was rather shocked how disrespectful she was to someone placing an order to order a piece of Class for a House Window. If this is the kind of service you are offering... My storefront windows were bashed in overnight. A total mess. Open for any random person to step right into my shop. I called Perkins Glass, and they were here within a couple hours. Fixed it like it was nothing. I felt humiliated in the presence of such honest skill and workmanship. This is the type of service I feel like people reminisce about having in the good ole days. Oh, and they did everything at half the price and in half the time that I had been quoted from every other glass business in the area. This business is a treasure to the community. Take advantage of it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We should have turned around from the beginning. Perkins himself was super rude and passive aggressive from the start. All we were asking for was a quote and he threw our mirror on the ground and started working on it. After asking him for a quote at least 10x he said come get it in three days. Three days later we come pick up the mirror and the frame is completely scratched. When confronted, his response was “I tried to buff it out.” Horrible costumer service, the glass doesn’t even fit the frame. It went right into the trash after they were done with it.

All I needed was 24x24 glass a 1/8 thick for my painting class. I called ahead to see if they could help me and they said sure thing. I came in about an hour later and it took way less than ten minutes for them to find a piece, cut it, and ring me up. The man that helped me was thoughtful, making sure to ask if I would be handling it so he knew to sand the sides down. All in all I only spent $5. $5! Thats so good! Plus it was fast and with good service. What more could you ask for?

Im guessing this is family owned? I would think a family run business in this day and age would go above and beyond to help you any way they can. Apparently not. Bummer. Heres to at least TRYING to support local. Spoke to a friendly younger woman on the phone and had the info I needed, but when I arrived, the older woman at the counter was nothing but rude from the second I walked in. We service commercial businesses, we dont do walk ins. In a really rotten tone. Her whole demeanor was just negative Nancy. I was definitely told the deal and sent packing with my tail between my legs. So to speak. It sucks that people dont understand that Google and Yelp are out there. Id much rather not spend the time writing anything negative, but when I am treated like an idiot, I am compelled.

Ever bought glass in a frame shop? Pleasant, but often incompetent staff, at least a week to cut and prices that make you think there must have been some misunderstanding and that it included both mat and gold frame? You will love this place! Best prices on glass. Ever. Cut to exact size, usually no later than the next day. Nicely finished edges. Some counter help can seem cranky, but they are not mean; some of the family members are more gruff than you might expect in retail. But if you are looking for professional competence and very competitive prices it shouldnt worry you that there is no tip jar.

Amazingly affordable. $16 for a 40x40 piece of double strength glass that will function as my new dry erase board because the normal ones are an eyesore! Service was fine--the guy at the counter was gruff, but I just smiled and was super direct. He cut it right in front of me, helped me load it, and then after I paid he handed me a pecan cluster which I import from Georgia, which he referred to as an attitude adjustment pill. Hilarious. Will send all my friends.

Horrible customer service.I showed up at the Perkins Glass shop in prerson to discuss my house project,The gentleman who was helping me was very unfriendly, every question I asked him, he responded with rolling eyes and was looking at me like I was an idiot for even asking it.He was not even trying to help me find any solutions or discuss other options to solve my problem. This is not a complicated project.I felt very unwelcomed.I wouldn’t recommend hiring them, or I would advise training all the staff on basics of customer service . Otherwise good luck with selling some glass with this kind of attitude...

Integrity and Courtesy. Gentlemen from this glass company were working on a space down from ours and my husband and I stopped and asked if they could come take a look at our businesss front glass door that had a problem. They were super friendly and took time to come by and fixed it! I was fully expecting to pay for this service but was told that it was no charge. Granted, it was a pretty quick fix, but you dont find courtesy and integrity out there too often. From my experience, I would recommend them and will plan to use them if we need any further work done. Thank you!

I just googled Perkins phone number and saw some of the negative reviews and felt compelled to write a counter one. I have dealt with Perkins glass for 30 years and their service is just as good today as it was then--Its perfect and I wouldnt change a thing. They have taken my calls well before the sun rose and I needed windows covered from a commercial burglary, and theyve taken calls after the sun set as during the WTO riots for example. Ive been in there probably 50 times over the years, and have figured out how to work within the parameters of what they do. They dont know me, I wouldnt be surprised if they didnt know my name, and it doesnt bother me a bit. They are in the glass business.. not the friendship business. This family doesnt need your friendship or approval. They cut glass and work hard. You want to have smoke blown up your backside and be told how great your creative inspiration is? Go someplace else. This is an old school business operated by the hardest working family I can point to. Mr. Perkins has been cutting glass longer than most of your grandparents have likely been alive and I have personally seen him handle big pieces of glass that I would struggle to even lift. I was told when I offered to help move a 1/4 mirror that measured 50x72 that I could help by getting out of the way. They work hard, cut glass and have dealt with the public on a retail basis far longer than most people would ever be able to even consider it.The comments about their family are baseless and rude: Which of you could even spend a day working with your family without conflict? This family was born and raised in the glass business and have worked together every day since. They continue to do what they do because they have customers that depend on them. Mr. Perkins could retire himself and everyone in his family a millionaire several times over if hed just give in to the haters, the light rail construction on Broadway, the constantly changing paint that is supposed to protect everyone from making stupid decisions, and perhaps last but not least: the changing demographics of Seattle with all the newcomers that think the only way to work is with a keyboard and a mouse. I got a place for them to stick their mouse alright. For the others that just want a piece of glass cut efficiently for 1/3 of what it would cost elsewhere, use your google and answer all your questions, go into perkins and tell them what you want. Not what its for or anything else. Shut your mouth and listen to the feedback you receive and answer any questions you may be asked. Pretend you are ordering soup in Manhattan if it helps.

They don’t accept Credit Cards and they never mentioned it to me over the phone. When I came in the old lady was mad and didn’t say hello. I am sorry to say, but Perkins glass company should be renamed Racist glass company. I had a very bad experince with Phil. Called for a quote over the phone and had Phil and Mike come out to give me an estimate. When they saw i was african american i felt like they were completely unprofessional. They talked as if my business and the 2 windows i asked to be replaced were a burden. I stated what i needed done and Phil continued to talk as if I were a simple minded child. I turned the other cheek, still got the quote, and called back the next week to schedule an appointment. Just for them to tell me they wont take my job. Thanks for the attutude and wasting a week of our time. If you dont mind dealing with ignorant people, be my guest but last i checked money is neither black or white, its green.
