I came in here with my boyfriend, this is important: we’re both brown (I’m Latina and he’s not). I was drawn into this place for the obvious reason lol we were the only brown people in the store. I was looking for something to send to a friend for a gift exchange we were doing. I found a couple of beautiful pieces but due to price I had to pass them up. So I kept searching. Anyway we ended up being in there for a while. There’s a lot of stuff in there and I wanted to make sure I saw everything. I see there’s this old white women standing at the counter just staring at us. She kept following us around and darting her head/eyes in our direction. By the time I found something I felt too uncomfortable to purchase the item due to her presence. We ended up leaving frustrated by this women’s treatment toward us. If you’re going to be selling my culture you could be more inviting to poc.

So excited that Milagros has reopened! Visited yesterday to support the shop after 2 months closed. They have continued to buy from the artists to support them despite being closed due to COVID. They have the prettiest artwork and Heather is extremely nice and helpful!!If you are in Seattle you need to visit this store!

We bought a beautiful hand carved rabbit statue when we were there on vacation. It has such personality and character! The team knew so much about the work and the people that carved it. We bought and had it shipped home - it was beautifully packaged and insured. They even got our email address to make sure we had the tracking info and emailed us an article about the artist! We loved browsing the store, loved our purchase, and had great customer service. Would highly recommend!

I travel often and I am always happy to be visiting Seattle and to have the chance to visit Milagros. The store has a wealth of wonderful Mexican folk art. The owner is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the origin and history associated with each piece, and is happy to share this information with visitors to the store. The combination of the extensive variety of exciting pieces available and the owner who knows all the artisans first hand makes Milagros unique and a gem in Seattle.

If you ever need a pick-me-up on a gray seattle day, step into this incredible shop and feel your spirit rise. This is HANDS-DOWN the most well curated collection of handmade Mexican pieces that I have ever seen in one place. The objects may seem pricey at first glance, but are a steal when you consider the obviously expert workmanship and high quality of materials used to create them. This is your average Pike Place Market souvenir shop, but I found plenty of smaller, reasonably priced gifts and mementos for others and myself. Rarely do I feel compelled to rave about a store, but to anyone out there who appreciates fine hand-made art, this Milagros is a must-visit. Also, if the rest of this review wasnt enough of a clue, I would NOT bring children (much less animals) into this shop, too many temptations and disasters waiting to happen, so just save everyone the heart-attack and let junior gawk from the other side of the glass.

Once I stepped inside I was astounded by the amount of beautiful art and sculpture that comes from Mexico. I was blown away by more than one piece in the store and had to leave promptly before I exceeded my credit card limit. But not before buying an incredible print of La Luna from the Mexican bingo set.Next time I’m in Seattle I must return with a larger budget.

I came into the store. And started talking to the owner about her store. She immediately ran after someone else and showed no interest in having a conversation with me. I was very disappointed. Im from Mexico and have been in each town and state where some of the pieces on display in the store are made. I just wanted to connect and buy something. However, after this expireance, I will never come back. Not a welcoming store.

Locals consider this fabulous Folk art gallery almost an extension of the art museum, because of its proximity and one of a kind art pieces. I almost always leave with an unusual gift or an antique piece of art. Milagros ha been here well over 20 years and the staff are very knowledgeable. When visiting Seattle dont miss out on this gem.
