This place has great donuts and even better customer service! Super friendly, great selection, and Boston Cream!! Its not easy finding a place that carries them around here :) Huge, yummy croissants (we got ham & cheese). Well totally be back. (Note that I didnt ask, but I dont think anything here is vegan. Will update if I find out differently next time we go.)

The people here are super friendly and nice. We got a half-dozen box and they gave us one donut for free to celebrate the cherry blossoms at UW :). The donut here are super good. The cake donuts are probably my favorites as they know how to make it pretty well. The crueller and cronut is also another delicious ones. the maple bacon is probably a savory dessert as there was so much bacon on it. The bear claw comes with an apple compote inside. You cant really go wrong with any of the donuts here to be honest.

My husband absolutely loves donuts and has been searching for a place similar to what he had back home in Texas. We recently just moved here from South Carolina and treated ourselves yesterday. The shop was easy to find, the staff was absolutely amazing and kind. They chatted with us, explained all the donuts they had, and even threw in some donutholes since it was our first visit.The donuts themselves were 100 percent amazing and delicious. I definitely am in love with the old fashioned donut 😍😍😍😍😍

I love this place! Absolutely delicious donuts, great to enjoy on your own or share. My favorite is the sugar donut. When I’ve brought them places people rave about the maple donuts, but you can’t go wrong since they’re all good. I really like their iced coffee with cream too. Service is always friendly and welcoming!

Went in to buy a couple donuts. They all looked so good I decided to try four, and then was talked into a half dozen that my girlfriend and I split.Amazing donuts that range from pillowy soft to a nice crisp crust. They do some traditional donuts just a little bit different that takes good to great.

Super delicious donuts! I never really eat them often because 99% of the ones Ive tried are overly sweet but these were perfect! The texture is nice and fluffy. The filled donuts were amazing - my favorite is true cream stuffed ones. Thid will be my new go to place from now on!

Good Donuts and very friendly, kind, helpful people, especially Molly-a beautiful soul. Plenty of delicious selection, even at 10:30a.m. Id say if you want the best selection come earlier, but it was still pretty decent. I got the Bavarian Cream filled and the Raspberry filled. They also have Coffee and coffee drinks, Hot Chocolate, and a few cold beverages.Small strip mall right on Northgate Way, free parking (small lot).

This place is just fantastic. For a small shop, the doughnuts pack a lot of punch. I had an old fashioned with maple frosting and a cream-filled yeasted. I was floored. They have a wide selection which means I will return

The service is great - everyone is super friendly and helpful in deciding which of the many options to choose from if youre like me and have trouble choosing. Some of our go-tos are the maple bar and the glazed buttermilk bars. This is our favorite local donut shop, by far!

Walking into Family Donut Shop on a crisp November morning, finding everything from fritters to crullers, and (I do not say these words lightly) the best old-fashioned cake donuts Ive ever had. I cant stress this enough, if you like Old-fashioned Cake, you owe it to yourself to come down before the sun-up crowd, and try them hot off the rack.They also deliver, and if you use Doordash, I might even bring it to you myself, so lucky you :)

I finally made it to this place and was glad a did. These are not gourmet or fancy flavored donuts, but very satisfying traditional donuts. I ordered a chocolate glazed cake, chocolate glazed yeast, apple fritter, and donut holes. The cake was a bit crunchy on outside with a soft moist interior as I like it. It usually indicates was recently fried and give a nice crunch as you bit in. The yeast donut was tall and pillowy and not too sweet. I like this better than Krispy Kreme and ended up finishing this one after sampling the others. The fritter was much better than from the two Seattle chains, Top Pot and Mighty O, though still cant beat fresh fritter from Amish market in Baltimore. Donut holes were a bit dry and coffee was average. The other donuts more than make up for that.

This is THE best donut shop in Seattle. Better than Top Pot, than Legendary, than Krispy Kreme, than Voodoo (in Portland). No gimmicks, no super huge donuts, no weird toppings (except for the bacon maple donut) - just really good donuts! My favorite is the apple fritter, but they serve an excellent cruller as well.

My favorite donut place in the city!

Lovely people, always give our toddler a Donut hole or 2. We rejoiced when we found this nearby. Im a positive type, so it grieves me to leave a less than 5 star rating for such a favorite place for us to stop in the morning. However there is new ownership, and donuts have changed a bit. The fritters are very flat. Donuts have a lovely crunch on the outside but perhaps a bit too much oil. Maple bars are perfection. The fritters still taste good, the old fashioned plain cake Donuts are really great, but not quite like the hay day of Family Donut. Perhaps they will practice their way to perfection once again!
