My husband and I first tried rolled ice cream in San Francisco so we were determined to find a place near where we live. So happy we found this place! Price is reasonable for rolled ice cream (and the work thats put into it, probably pricier compared to regular scoop ice cream). One of the owners was there worjing and she was so friendly. The tablet ordering was convenient. We are excited to try some of their other treats too.
My husband and I went for ice cream after dinner. We were the first/only people in the shop. We weren’t greeted at all or even acknowledged. It was our first time there so we finally figured out that you self order. We ordered 2 puff waffles with ice cream. Two other came in after us and ordered. It took us about 30-35 mins to get our order while these girls did only god knows what and talked to their friends who came in. The people who ordered after us got theirs before us somehow? My puff waffle was hard and crunchy/burnt, not soft at all. I ordered a fruity pebbles cereal milk taco and it had like 10 little cereal pieces and I could barely tell if there was sweetened condensed milk. Maybe my expectations were off but based on other photos, I was shorted for sure. The only thing I have good to say was at least the rolled ice cream was good.
I find the rolled ice cream to be a lot creamier and richer than normal ice cream, with a significantly different texture. This place is worth checking out, especially for their banana split one- I dont usually like banana ice cream but they do it really well. If you arent in the mood for that, they have other snacks like waffles and bubble tea as well, so it would be a nice place to come as a group. Recommend!
Imagine Coldstone, but better and rolled up and dense. Its nothing like youd expect, rolled ice cream is a trip.
Stuff is not friendly, nobody even said hello and explained how we can order something, we have to give tips upfront without getting any service yet. Finally instead of let me know how long will take, they just said to us we have to wait outside during most hot day of the year. Very nice...Already waiting for ice cream 31 minute... seriously?Update 40 min. If you have a line and 10 order in q, please let you customers know about Wait.
It’s a cute shop run by a couple nice girls. I had the rolled ice cream Thai ice tea flavor with jellies. Boba is usually added but they were operating on a quarantine menu. I was surprised at how smooth and creamy the rolled ice. The flavor was great. I got it to go and finished it by the time I got to my car.
Hands down, best ice cream. The fruit flavours are too intense on fruits but the chocolate/coffee ones are just great.
I always love this place but not tonight. Its hotter than heck and all my boyfriend and I can think of is Keyilme pie rolled ice cream, our favorite. We excitedly get to the udistrict location only to be told, rudely I might add, that they arent excepting cash, only debit or Apple pay. I didnt have either with me just grabbed a $20 on the way out the door. When did cash become a bad thing? Ridiculous! We went elsewhere but very disappointed.
Adequate portions. Good taste. Moneys worth.
This is a very unique find in a mass city. Rolled ice cream is a work of art and that alone is worth visiting for. If done correctly, the end result will be a complex beauty. Just a heads up, the store is relatively small in comparison to the average store. The cookie butter flavor was delicious for sure.
Slowest service imaginable- not worth the wait for some rolled ice cream
I was really excited to try this place after reading the reviews. Upon arriving the girl was on her phone and finished her conversation before greeting us. When reciting our order she informs us to order on the tablet, the tablet menu is a bit confusing as it didnt really match the menu above. The tastes was almost not there for the ice cream on one order. The waffle was good, but Im sure I ordered it with ice cream and got marshmallows. I left disappointed as the whole time it felt like everything was inconvenient for her. I wouldnt return or recommended.
Awesome experience and delicious ice-cream! But not only rolled ice cream you will get but also a great show. The ice cream is not extremely sugary so you will be able to enjoy natural flavors. I ordered lychee lover and it was created right in front of me with fresh lychees.Must try for everyone who is even a little bit in love with ice cream. The place is very warm so you will be comfortable during winter time.Warning. Its addictive.
Best one in seattle. Mango rico is my favorite.
I really enjoyed the ice cream I had at Cold Plate. It’s located on the ground floor of a newer building. I visited on a Friday night and it wasn’t full but most tables were occupied. The person taking my order was friendly and she was happy to answer any questions. The spectacle of the ice cream being mixed on the cold metal plate is definitely a draw for people. I ended up making my own flavor with vanilla ice cream, strawberries mixed in, an Oreo on top, boba, and mochi. The ice cream tasted good and was mixed in throughout. All of the mix-ins seemed fresh as well. I will definitely return.
This place has made slight changes to accommodate for the pandemic. I had the fruity pebbles rolled icecream and I highly recommend. Watching them make your dish right in front of you is really cool, and this is a great place to take your kids. A little bit pricey though.
I mean this is a must visit, they have great treats for everyone.
Really good/tasty ice cream 100% would recommend coming here!
On the expensive side but the ice cream is really good. Its a unique presentation and the flavor is really good. It also managed to stay solid on my drive home in high 90s which was nice
Good ice cream. A little pricey but it hits the spot when you need something sweet.
Cute clean shop, lots of flavor options. PROBABLY THE BEST ICE CREAM YOU WILL EVER HAVE! A must try! Melt in your mouth heaven
Cute clean shop, lots of flavor options. PROBABLY THE BEST ICE CREAM YOU WILL EVER HAVE! A must try, melt in your mouth heaven!!
Great dessert joint! I havent had much rolled ice cream in the past, but this has been one of the best Ive had. The area is a bit small and it can take some time for your ice cream to be prepared so if it were busy I may wait for things to die down, but it is definitely worth going to! The decor is nice and the dessert is as pretty as rolled ice cream can get without being over the top. I ordered the black sesame, which I enjoyed a lot! They said they were working on vegan options, but it wasnt quite perfected yet, so I look forward to seeing that in the near future! Will be going back to try more of the flavors!
The tea was quite nice, but I found the tables to be a bit low. Good ambience, especially with the chalk walls allowing people to write comments. The ice cream (which I didnt sample) was very artistic in presentation. Music could be a bit quieter to allow for conversation.
Was such an insta trend a long time ago, so I gave it a try. Not a big fan of rolled ice creams. They are very heavy on the cream, and was quite a mouth full. The flavors could be better, too. A little too generic, but you know it makes a good picture.
Very different texture from other ice creams.
I always wanted Thai Ice Cream after seeing a video on Facebook. Cold Plate made my wish into a reality. Not only do you get a small show watching them make the rolled ice cream live but you also get a great dessert!!
I got the cookies and cream rolls and a puffle. The ice cream tasted good, but the employees seemed generally unfriendly, they took a long time (this one is relatively understandable) and they added WAY too much baking soda in the puffles to the point where I couldnt bear to eat it. If a few of these points were resolved this restaurant could be a great place to go with friends and an easy 5-star.
After the renovation, there is more selection on the menu and lots of changes too. Really loved the Lychee ice cream roll, probably the best one ever. Workers are really nice and friendly. Would recommend this as a quick relaxing stop. But one thing thats a little unsatisfying is that there is no A/C in there.
I went to Coldplate last year which was owned by different owners at the time. Since then, they’ve added a lot of other goods but they’ve also changed The ingredients of some. I would personally always get the mango Rico but now it is a lot more creamy and it doesn’t have the the same toppings as before. I think it should be changed back to how it was originally.
Pretty damn good. Could improve by having less lyrically explicit music, slightly raising the store temperature, offering slightly faster service, and of course lowering prices a touch. Ill be back sometime in all likelihood
TLDR: YUM. A must try! A bit spendy but worth it!Menu is straight forward. Some items unavailable because this place is still new.Street parking only. Can be hard to find during peak hours. The ice cream proportion may look small but it is very filling--at least for me. If you have someone you dont mind sharing with, I suggest you do so.Service: order and pay at the register on the left, wait somewhere in the cafe for your number to be called, grab and spoon from the counter bin and omnomnom away.Mango Rico: they use real champagne mangos in the ice cream base. This one isnt very sweet at all but it is very creamy and satisfying. Gotta love the fresh mango chunks and mochi toppings! Get this to feel refreshed and less guilty!Ferre-roll Rocher: if you have a sweet tooth, this one is for you! Very creamy and chocolatey! Gives you those taste good shivers!
Their matcha flavor is my go-to. My friends like their other flavors as well
There arent many rolled ice cream places, so Im glad its here now! Definitely much more expensive than regular ice cream but theres a lot more labor involved so thats a given. Prettiness of the end product will depend a bit on the person making your ice cream, but it will taste good regardless! Yogurt base will be pretty sour so watch out for that if you dont like that. Hopefully soon you will be able to customize like at the main ny location
The menu is limited but everything on it is creative and delicious. The employees are friendly and the atmopshere is fun. The stools are a tad short, but thats okay. I highly recommend this place and will be back soon. Its also a great date location!
It sounds like a very good place if they respect their business hours been waiting with my daughter for long time. Only because she likes there ice cream.
Great ice cream and added fun experience of watching your creation be made. Perfect to impress friends or all of your insta followers :)
Best rolled ice cream in Seattle, get a waffle. Amazing.
Mind-blowing flavors, had such a tough time selecting what to order. Both the flavors we finally ordered were soooo good - Mango Rico and Nutella Crunch. The creator was sweet enough to give us extra Mango boba too!Definitely going back to try all the others :P
Great dessert place. Customer service was fantastic. Very recommended to stop in and get amazing desserts.
Best rolled ice cream I have ever had. Mango rico must try.
Great flavors including sesame seed and crushed hazelnuts. And they work hard making each roll!
This place is awesome because they have a wonderful roll ice cream.
Tasty ice-cream with many flavors of things to mix-in. I was overwhelmed and chose one of the set flavors Thai-Tea which was nice with the tapioca pearls on top.
Love the lichi flavor
Ice cream rolls are made in front of you from the liquid cream, with fresh fruits cut and mixed in during the process. This place got me back my interest in rolled ice cream, after I lost it at Hi B3ar.
The flavor combinations harken back to boba tea, mango sticky rice, matcha, and many other great Asian deserts. However, they also have some more traditional ice cream treats (cookies and cream for one). Service was great and the ice cream delicious!
Ordered watermelon & lychee ice cream. Very tasty and chewy, Sweetness level is just about right for me. Price is a little expensive but still worth it.
Recently discovered this place, had the Lychee Lover rolled ice cream and it was yummmm! Definitely recommend this place!
First visit, staff not that friendly or helpful. Ice cream needs a little more flavor and toppings
Very cool aesthetic. Underated place, hit them up.
Second best in the Pugent sound after Mora
COLD/FROZEN DESSERTS, MADE FRESH, TASTY, CLEAN ATMOSPHERE, UNIQUE.
Great flavors and excellent service.
That is tasty and reasonably priced
Good ice cream, but unfriendly personal, only one worker, long waiting time
Matcha madness is my go to.
Good quality
They are out to rob customers
Unique and tasty
Yum
First time coming here, and enjoyed the experience. Got both rolled ice cream and soft serve.Flavors were great, and the lady behind the counter was very helpful.
