Lucas and Lelah did a phenomenal job for our outdoor event 8/29 in the park. So friendly, professional and helpful. The ice cream was fantastic and the waffle cones were delicious too. Everyone raved about you two. Thank you so much. Definitely 5 stars, would give more, if I could. Valerie

Must try in the Seattle area! I visited with my family and we were pleased with how they treat their customers and how good the ice cream was. I had the vegan chocolate coconut cookie crunch and it was amazing!!! The waffle cones are warm when handed to you and it gives that comfort touch to some good ice cream! The snickerdoodle is also super good and worth trying but Im still obsessing over the chocolate coconut cookie crunch! We will definitely be back!

The smell of freshly rolled waffle cones will beckon you to follow your nose to the wide selection of ice cream inside the shop, where super friendly ice cream scoopers will answer any and all your questions about their flavors. They have all the standard flavors youd expect, alongside really cool seasonal ones too! My favorites are their snickerdoodle, caffe vita, and grasshopper, and if youre able to catch it during the summer time, the meyer lemon cookie is *amazing*!! Definitely stop by to try a scoop or two in a waffle cone!!

I keep coming back every year or so, and I keep being disappointed. The ice cream isnt as rich or flavorful as other premium brands. My husband asked if wed accidentally gotten a vegan flavor. The COVID measures are careful for staff which is good, but dont accommodate customers well. We got yelled at for standing one step in to read the board then minutes later had to stand exactly there to pay and get our ice cream. We were the only customers present, which was good as there was no apparent plan for more than one customer, and no way to pay without edging around the stay here spot.Last time we give Blue Bird one more try. Mediocre ice cream with surly service (she snapped at us a total of three times!) took all the joy out of a treat.

Walked by and got drawn in by the smell of handmade waffle cones being made right at the bar. I tried the salted caramel ice cream in a freshly made waffle cone and my husband got a pint of the Split Personality stout. We both left very happy customers. Will be back!

Pretty rude service, unclear Covid measures (repeatedly, in an irritated tone, told to ‘stay back behind the line’ then instructed to cross that same line to pay/get ice cream), unapologetically served my 6 yr old a fully broken ice cream cone (‘I’m putting this in a cup because the cone is too broken to hold’) and ultimately ice cream was just okay. We’re local in the neighborhood and are bummed to finally try this shop, but cross it off our list of places we’ll be back to. Fortunately Greenwood has so many other great, locally run options for treats.

Good ice cream (their own in small batches) with unique flavors, nice location. Can be a little slow due to high demand and often only 1-2 staff (shakes take time to make by hand, not sure why people are complaining so much in the reviews), but not that bad...sit and enjoy the neighborhood. Staff has always been very kind and helpful. If you have allergies, they do have at least peanuts and peanut butter ice creams that do not seem to be very well isolated, so probably pass if you have a severe peanut allergy.

Stopped by today at 5pm, and turned around immediately along with many other people. The server/cashier was NOT wearing a mask, despite standing next to a giant sign that says “face masks are required”. I mean cmon - she’s serving people ice cream and she’s breathing over everything. She was telling customers that she was not wearing a mask. That’s a great way to put other people at risk. Be cautious folks - we need to watch out for each other.Never coming back. We walked two blocks down and found a lovely gelato place where the server actually was wearing a face mask. And the gelato was tastier and not overpriced - so it all worked out in the end.

A little sweet, a little icy - if that makes sense. Not entirely a good thing when their competitors are producing smoother textured ices and balanced sweet/savory flavors. Two stars because of good tasters on real spoons, cool swag, its local to me and the fact that the line is going to be shorter.

Great neighborhood ice cream spot. It scratches the itch for craft ice cream. The chocolate pudding is creamy and rich, while the vegan coconut chip is flavorful and fun. There is better ice cream out there, but Blue Bird holds their own.

Review №23

Somewhat disappointed by the ice cream. The flavors were decent but the ice cream was extra runny. It was extra runny right from start, dripping through the waffle cone. Delivery day was the explanation. Had to rush through to finish the shake served on a cone.-Edit 9/24/17: Higher rating given due to attentiveness and response by owner. Customer oriented and open to feedback. Will return to try more ice cream.

Review №26

Blue Bird makes mostly awesome ice cream (a few flop flavors, but mostly good). They also make really tasty soda, and by virtue, awesome floats.Theyre a little pricey, but at least they use really high-quality ingredients. If youre in the area, this is really the best option for ice cream or sweets. They also make dessert beers, if thats your thing.Heres the downside: the service. Its really a mixed bag. Its either a young hipster who (perhaps rightfully so) hates their job, doesnt pack pints properly, and gives you comically small scoops for $6.50; or its the nicest, bestest, overworked employee ever. They really need to have more people working at the counter on busy days (especially when its warm). Having a line out the door isnt always a sign of great business -- its sometimes a sign that the owner didnt want to have two people working, and some poor sap is stressing out, trying to take multiple orders at once. And would you guys please make your waffle cones during the mornings like most ice cream shops?Hire more people and train them how to pack pints and serve up scoops. Thats all you need to do, really. You shouldnt have to wait ten minutes to get an ice cream cone. And when you do, it should be huge, delicious, and completely awesome. And sometimes it really is.But sometimes, it isnt. And you need to fix that. They make great ice cream, though. So at least give them a shot. The chocolate flavors are all absurdly good. Definitely get the Theo Chocolate Chunk.

Went there because Google said they had soft serve ice cream (I know, kinda lowbrow but I was in a mood). They DO NOT have soft serve, but thats not entirely enough of a reason o give them just two star; went ahead and ordered two scoops, marionberry and horchata. The horchata was marginally ok, you could guess the flavor without being told what it was, but the marionberry was absolutely void of character. It was berry colored and seemed to have little berry seeds in it but otherwise impossible to guess what the flavor was suppose to be. Not a place I will spend calorie counts on in the future.

On my visit I got a split scoop (half and half) of snickerdoodle and theo chocolate chunk and it was absolutely delicious. The business itself was a little hard to find because the logo is painted on brick and at night there is really not much light near the logo, but it is right next to the coffee shop. The ice cream had the perfect texture and consistency that was smooth and not to sweet., The retro decor of the room was pretty tasteful addition also, there were some old milk jugs around, an old radio with all their merch on it and there POS system was a combo of a tablet on an old metal cash register. Around the top left part of the room was also a shelf full of old board games if youre looking for something to do while there with friends. This little business is definitely worth a visit if youre looking for some cool interesting ice cream flavors, interesting sodas or micro-brews.
