Union is a lovely coffee and wine store. Bright and sleek, with a cozy indoor seating area in the loft and a small but sunny outdoor patio. Service was very friendly, and I think they are tip free, while their prices are still comparable to other places. They make good coffee and even bake pastries in house. Their croissants are more on the solid sweet side than flaky buttery, so not really to my taste but overall not bad.

I didnt think I liked Lavender Lattes until I had it here at Union Coffee. Never have I ever had an emotional reaction to a beverage before. This was unlike any feelings of nostalgia to comfort foods. I had a perfectly made drink and I fear my attempt to describe it will only cheapen it. I dont know what went into my latte but it legitimately toyed with my raw feelings with every sip. Not to be more dramatic than I already am but I enjoyed my drink outside on a beautiful early afternoon with the Autumn foliage and at one point nearly cried. Then I nearly cried again for a wholly different reason when my drink was depleted. The barista was amazing and a delight in every way possible. Union Coffee somehow found a special nook in my vapid soul and I almost dont want to come back again but cant wait to be back at the same time.

Cute local cafe with a solid wine and coffee gear selection. The barista was polite, albeit slow moving. The drinks were good - I enjoyed the uniqueness of their specialty drink menu. Overall, decent option for coffee if youre in the area.

Union is a coffee shop for everyone, but especially for coffee people. They use very high quality equipment (Victoria Arduino Black Eagle 😍) paired with a high degree of staff expertise in coffee preparation. Your espresso based drinks are sure to be stunning on their own, or with one of their in-house flavors; but, the rotating options for pour-over are always a treat. As a multi-roaster cafe, they put in a lot of effort to source interesting and delicious coffees from various roasters, with plenty of options for whole beans to take home. The staff are super friendly, and committed to having a positive presence and influence in their community. Because they actively put their values into practice, they’ve created a cafe that feels safe, welcoming, and supportive. They are truly an excellent example of how to run a small business with integrity, and I wish that more Seattle coffee shops and businesses would take note.

I was so excited when the new owner took over the space and made a plan to visit right away. The baristas here are always willing to engage about the coffee and help me find something to my taste. Through the pandemic I saw them adapt their business model by selling unique bottled wine and collaborating with other small business, all while looking after the safety of their team and customers alike. They’ve really become a part of the neighborhood and I can’t wait to see what they do with the space as time moves forward.

Union coffee in Central District Seattle is a pop up coffee shop that serves an amazing Rose Cardamom Latte. They also have a good wine selection and some of their coffee flavors are not found in your typical coffee shops. Coffee is served in 8,12 or 16 ounces cups. As an acoustician I had to take a ride across the city before I catch my southbound train back to Eugene and see the cool design. Entering the tranquil space there was an sense of coziness and chill vibes playing on the speakers. Well, it was 8am on a Sunday so might be different on a Tuesday. Coffee was A++ a classic latte w oat milk really set my day off. The ceiling is super cool if you’re a sound nerd and into that modern design. Would love to chat with Zack the owner about the space one day.

The new owner is keeping the doors open for to-go drinks and serving delicious light roast coffee sourced with intention and quality in mind. My coffee had sweet notes of lavender. She said she is working with a local chef and is about to start serving some special food items. It was so fun to see her passion for coffee and her business. Go check it out!

Great decor. Best part was the granola bowl! It was an acceptable portion size for $5.5. They don’t use a lot of honey or sugar in and instead use light whipped cream to bind it. Possibly the best granola bowl I’ve had (it had hazelnuts!!!).Fast WiFi and plenty, PLENTY of plugs. If you have a seat, you’ll probably have a plug nearby. It may be a bit chilly too.

There are many excellent cafes on this stretch of Union Street, but this one stands out. Do you like espresso drinks? Are you interested in having a conversation about tasting notes in an unpretentious and welcoming environment? Or do you just want a good, tasty coffee? This is the place to go. I also prefer the chocolate chip cookies here, even though theyre right next door to a cookie shop that itself is no slouch.

A lot of third wave coffee shops look the look, but dont know what theyre doing. Union Coffee is different, theyre meticulous about the beans and how they brew them. Take my nit picky taste in coffee with a grain of salt, but I thought my latte was not as flavorful as I’d hoped. I do agree with other reviewers that the decor is very adorable, and the staff was nice.Update to review: I did not read the owners response to my previous 4-star review. So this is independent of that. I updated my review of the coffee (and the overall shop) to 5 stars because I think I had an off-day yesterday with my palate. I found this out toward the second half of the day, after the review had been written. So my bad. But I stand by the fact that this is a cute cafe, and Im excited to go back and try their espresso again.

Neat environment and friendly service.I had an 8-oz latte, which I found quite disappointing. I thought the flavor was overly bright and thin; even the milk portion was not particularly creamy. I recognize that Union Coffee ascribes to a third wave coffee approach and use lighter roasts than other places. But Ive had cafe lattes at Storyville or Cafe Lusso, both of which use relatively lighter beans, and both of which I thought were substantially better. That said, I appreciate their wide selection of coffee beans and their commitment to fair dealings with their suppliers. Im guessing that perhaps a brewed coffee method would fare better.

They serve the modern style of coffee more prevalent in Portland than Seattle. This is a good thing! Espresso is more flavorful in fhe modern style. Also, the cappuccino was served at the correct temperature (much lower than usual) so that the milk texture is much smoother and more supple. This shop is #correct.

The decor is nice & minimal, with old school records playing the liven the place up.Unfortunately, my lightly sweetened vanilla latte had a very strange, almost too sweet tang to it, I couldnt even drink half of it.The cardamom granola bowl for $5.50 was, on the other hand, delicious. Its very loud there and gets pretty busy with folks working (I came in at 10am on a Wednesday). Which is great, but unfortunately for me, made it really hard to take phone calls or have meetings from work there. Its a good spot, and free parking outside, just wouldnt go out of my way to go there.

Bright and airy with a focused menu, Union Coffee is a great addition to the neighborhood. It seems more like a place for coffee tastings and sitting to savor, but the service is so personable and eager to please that it lacks the snobbery usually associated with fancy coffee. Their hot chocolate has also become a new favorite morning treat for my 3-year old.The upstairs, when finished, looks like a promising work space and while I thought it would be echoey, the acoustics are surprisingly warm in such an open space. Looking forward to trying it out this winter when the weather turns gloomy.
