A wonderful coffee shop on Queen Anne. If you are like me, I like working from coffee shops. Storyville has huge windows with plenty of light which makes it a very productive place to do some work. But thats not even the best thing. Their staff is amazingly nice which creates a great environment. Also while I was sitting doing work, they offered me a piece of chocolate cake.... Who can say no to cake?!
Visited this cafe couple of times. Since the first time trying their cinnamon roll and latte, I fall in love with the mixed of both stuffs. I like the location too and its pretty spacious inside. They also gave me free chocolate sponge cake to try. So generous! One of my favorite coffee place in Seattle!
A delicious mocha, made me smile on this dreary day. The staff was pleasant and efficient. The store is real pretty and the windows are perfect for people watching. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating; with a combination of tables, bar and sofas. There’s several pastries to choose from, the chocolate croissant was not a winner as it was hard and missing its chocolate.
I personally feel like this store is better than the one in Pike Place for two reason. One: the temperature in store doesnt feel like Im in a sauna room. Two: the view from looking outside the window is spectacular, no matter where you are sitting, you can still see whats out there. Whereas in the Storyville in Pike place, you cant really enjoy the view unless you are sitting right by the window.I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the feel of this location. And the fact that I got to sit down and enjoy my coffee with my fiancée. Staff here are great with their customer service, very energetic and charming. Definitely a shoutout to these guys today! Thank you for making our morning so much better
Atmosphere looks really cool (if you’re allowed to dine-in) & they give you a free mug if it’s you’re first time there. You’d just have to sign in with an email. A nice way to get a free souvenir if you’re visiting. However the prices are pretty high, which makes sense why they give away free mugs. Also, got the French press & it was pretty watery.
I waited 15 minutes in the line to get a cappuccino because there was a single person doing everything. Then when I was able to order I was told that the shop closes in 10 minutes.I complained that I waited more time in the line than I would be able to enjoy it and the waitress just told me sorry Im alone. Well, a heads-up would have been nice. The cappuccino was very good.
Their coffee is great. Im pretty picky (though not persnickety) about my coffee, and Ive been pleased every time Ive been here. Theyre super friendly, and their covid precautions are more than sufficient without feeling really intrusive to the whole visit. All in all would recommend a visit.
Upon recommendation of a new co-worker, I drive down to Queen Anne from work. Its a cute area, reminiscent of San Franciscos charm. (small cafes, dog friendly, upper scale neighborhood)... just quaint, in addition to amazing views, youre within a stones throw from majestic hillside homes.Storyville is on the corner of Boston Street and Crockett Street in the center of town. They have some outdoor seating that is enclosed on one side, and perfect if youd like to enjoy the dog, with say, your dog. Or by yourself, with a good book. Or even better with a dog who reads. Theres a small amount of people watching.I walk inside and the wooden menu board is posted behind you with the Storybrook logo of a small child holding up a radio flyer airplane. Nostalgic. They have a great few options that arent overwhelming. They offer French press, but I was told itd be a few minutes, as they were making a fresh brew.Being an avid yelper, I cant but help to take photos of the decor and pastries and the genuine smiles of the employees faces. Like Im not even kidding, accomodating. Sporting bright red shirts representing their brand and their eagerness to make sure your experience is a lovely one. One patron next to me (I find out is a regular) is absolutely appalled that I did not request permission from the staff before holding my camera phone up to take pictures of the beautiful fresh pastries and the happy staff. She literally scolded me for taking such photos, all I could say was well... thank you for the tip. I mean, what do you say? Of course there are those wacky patrons, and this is Seattle...I move up to place my order. A mocha with cashew and coconut milk. The woman next to me, leans over towards me and loudly asks the barista if pictures are allowed to be taken, and that people should ask first. Embarrassing for me, but clearly this woman doesnt care. Shes certain Im invading someones privacy. I just post pictures on my IG, T.A., and other social media to promote restaurants, shops, services, and pretty much anything where Ive experienced the best, or the worst. People often ask me where a pastry chef would dine and where are my recommendations? Im honest to a fault, and wouldnt want my peeps to be duped and spend money that is a waste. Im not gaining anything monetarily out of it, so I think my unbiased opinion with multiple slices of humor make it fun to read.Okay, back to crazy Seattle lady... she was not happy when they told her that they encourage people to take photos, mostly, Ill bet because they have a superb product and posting these on social media only helps their business!Back to my delightful mocha, made with love, and the barista who made it, was as sweet as pie. I took my beverage outside to enjoy. It was so creamy and very tasty, and just an all around handcrafted experience! She even took the time to later come out with a glass of water for me, and a dog sitting at a table behind me, checking on all of us to make sure we were happy. Never stopped smiling. I can see why this place is popular. I will most definitely be back, and they have three locations, fyi. I cant wait to see my Oscar the grouch lady again! lol
Lovely coffee shop with delicious and fresh coffee. The snacks are also very tasty and the prices are fair. The staff is friendly and quick with their service.
Very good service but a med latte comes out to like $8 and its only ok. Vibe is very Starbucks+
My brother and I were searching for coffee in the evening and saw that Storyville was open. First time here and we were extremely happy with our Vanilla Lattes. Probably the best tasting coffee I have had in Seattle. And that is saying something. Since it was our first time there the friendly employees gave us complimentary coffee cups. Thank you!
I went to this branch last weekend August 22nd. Unfortunately, the cappuccino I received was lighter than a latte. It only had hints of milk and was very bad. The basic rule of a cappuccino is sticking to the measurements. I was very disappointed to have had coffee flavored milk in the name of cappuccino. I had to throw it away.
Awesome coffee shop. Its a cozy shop in a great neighborhood. My cappuccino was delicious and they even made it with some foam art. The staff were so friendly and inviting too. I was taking my coffee to go but Id love to return and hang out for a while. They also gave me a free coffee mug in exchange for my email address. Other companies should take note. Instead of misleading you with what they want your contact info for or buying your contact info from 3rd parties, be upfront and offer to buy it from the source. They offered a free mug or a $7 gift card. Now Im much less likely to unsubscribe from their mailing list and more willing to give them a chance whereas its an automatic unsubscribe for everyone else.
Really great coffee! Restrooms aren’t open for public use so I wasn’t able to work here for a long period of time. Otherwise great service!
Hands down some of the best coffee in Seattle, as well as wonderful service. This location has a cozy and warm atmosphere. My order this morning was a mocha and breakfast sandwich for here. After finishing my perfect mocha (quality chocolate and not too sweet) and amazing breakfast sandwich (egg, bacon, pesto goat cheese on a pretzel bun), they cleared my plate and even brought around over a glass of water as I continued sitting and journaling. Mind you, this is a coffee shop, not a sit down restaurant so the service touches were unexpected and very appreciated. I will be back!
I love this place. My daughter introduced this place to me. As soon as you walk in you are transported away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Queen Ann street. You walk in to a cozy place with a fireplace. You are greeted with a very friendly calm spoken barista and you watch them make your coffee with rhythm. Not mechanical or loud like other places.I went there a second time to meet a friend I have not seen for years. It was easy to chat and 4 hours passed by. Suddenly we were offered a slice of chocolate cake.I wish they have Storyville where I live. It is good to enjoy your coffee once in awhile in a cozy atmosphere that is not your home.
Such a cozy place and the coffee is amazing. I received a free coffee mug the first time I went there and my friend who brought me here got a bag of fresh coffee.
This is a beautiful place to drink your outstandingly prepared coffee in the morning. The atmosphere is happy, comfortable, artsy, and well thought out. The pastries are delicious, and the coffee lives up to its untarnished reputation. Just being here made me want to move to Seattle.
Not worth the price. A latte is $6 plus tax plus tip. I am not sure if I want to shell out $8 for 8oz of coffee again. Coffee was good, not great... and definitely not worth $8. Will not be returning.
Great coffee shop! The staff is very friendly and accommodating- they actually just handed out free, warm chocolate cake to everyone here. Im not sure why, but definitely not going to complain. The music is also top notch. Perfect place to go to read a book, do some work, or just sip coffee and do some people watching. Highly recommended!
Wow, amazing first experience. Great coffee, free gifts and I was there when they walked around offering free chocolate cake. Service is top notch for a coffee shop! Will be back.
First great experience Storyville one of the best coffee in Seattle, the staff was friendly and I obtained a free mug after I had signed up . Unfortunately, the croissant had gone but I liked lemon cake. I will be back soon.
Good coffee. A bit crowded for indoor seating
This place is great, particularly if you manage to snag a good seat. The seats are away from the door, so they dont get cold. The tea options here arent great, so plan to get coffee or a pastry.
The coffee here is extremely flavorful. I got a mocha that tasted like coffee and chocolate and wasnt terribly sweet like most mochas that obliterate the coffee and chocolate flavor.
It was some of the best coffee ive ever had. Got a free mug too!
My kids love this place even though there are so many other coffee places within walking distance on Queen Anne Ave that have kids areas. Their pretzel with marinara is good for a light lunch or a snack. Desserts always good here. And of course, coffee is second to none. Kids get a free airplane cookie if you ask. And my kids always do!
Latte and Americano were very tasty. Caramel cookie was amazing. Service was very quick and friendly. Very cozy decor with lots of seating and natural light. Really enjoyed my experience.
This place is fantastic as always! And their chocolate croissant is to die for! Any of their espresso drinks are bound to be amazing and the baristas are always very friendly. It also happens to be a great place to spend working with a coffee, the WiFi is great and although its busy its not loud enough to be disruptive. I think their large windows are excellent for not only light but people watching. It has everything you are looking for in a coffee shop and they do it well!
As I was preparing to leave a fantastic review of Storyville Coffee anyway, they came by and offered me free cake. Free cake aside, the service is beyond amazing. Like brought me a glass of water to wash down the cake and everything. Great coffee and desserts, lovely and chill atmosphere. Highly recommend. Very highly.
Why are you still going to Starbucks?best coffee in Queen Anne, hands down. Beautiful latte art.Food wise I have Have only tried the oatmeal so far but it was outstanding. They offer sandwiches and pastries as well. The place is Modern, clean and bright. Service is excellent. Has a Fireplace. Prices are competitive. They unobtrusively offer a Free airplane sugar cookie for kids, but I love this place extra because there are no snacks visible that your child will beg you for.
Great coffee, wonderful ambiance, and amazing customer service! My new favorite coffee shop. Will come back often!
This place is great, they took coffee experience to the next level. Inside the vibe is chill and the interior space is warm and creative. Highly recommend to stop by when youre in the area.
The management was very rude. The coffee was sub par and combined with the rude behavior I will not be returning. Also way too pushy about trying to get my email.
If I could, I would make this spot my everyday work office. The service and drinks are so good! All of the baristas are so friendly, and if there isnt a long line behind you, theyre always down for a conversation.I appreciate that their coffee is roasted in Seattle and their milks and flavoring are house-made! I highly recommend the chai with house-made almond milk. Tip: If you stick around long enough and its a slow afternoon, the baristas will walk around and serve slices of warm chocolate cake!
My favorite coffee place yet. The simple and clean layout is very welcoming. No clutter and very efficient service. The coffee is an awesome medium roast that is made to perfection. Not burnt or too strong. Its just right. After having coffee here I actually appreciate what goes into making a good cup more then ever.I even bought their roasted coffee bag to try at home and its the best coffee Ive ever brewed. Its the first coffee I found that I actually want to drink.
The coffee isnt cheap. Just saying that up front. I payed nearly five dollars for a cappuccino. But it was incredibly delicious, and the server brought water to my table, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Write a book here. Great atmosphere to do so.
Great coffee, cute environment, attentive staff. Not many tables, so not a great place for a big group.
The place has a nice bar kind of coffee station. Ambience is good and coffee is really good.
Excellent coffee as always. The French press is a personal favorite of mine. The decor and set up is similar to the downtown Seattle location so its quite cozy and warm. The service is friendly.
Amazing coffee and great place to hangout and get some work done. I love their Chai Latte personally. Also if its your first visit, you can get a free coffee mug!!
Within five minutes of sitting down Ive had water brought to my table without asking along with a free slice of cake. And if that wasnt enough, these folks give me a free mug for simply showing up. Whoever runs this place is a freaking winner.
Amazingly cozy shop. The coffee was impeccable! The servers were very polite and welcoming
Welcoming atmosphere with caring staff. Great seating options for places to setup a laptop (with plugins) or leisurely read book. Big windows offer a nice view of Queen Anne Ave with bar seating lining the perimeter. PLUS the staff walks around bringing you coffee and free baked goods. What more could you want?
Loved the experience here. We have been multiple times, but our first experience definitely set the tone. We came in early, had breakfast which was delicious, hearty, and served quickly. We hung out for maybe 4 hours there and saw it pick up as the day went out. It definitely seems like a local favorite hangout spot for coffee and general meeting place despite competing with Starbucks across the street. They have a ton of natural light and a fireplace inside which makes it extra cozy. Id definitely recommend stopping by.
So nice! They offer complementary snacks! Cashew coconut milk is interesting... Probably wouldnt get it again. Cinnamon bun = cinnanomnom
They bring around freshly made cake, which was very tasty and a nice surprise, but the coffee was awful. I had a cold brew latte, it was the worst tasting coffee I have ever had. My wife had cold brew, and it was so watered down, it was basically ice water with a hint of coffee.
Coffee is a little on the darker side, but definitely a good dark. Very smooth cappuccino and a good cortado! Milk steaming is high quality. Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely come back
I love coming here. It is one of my favorite places to chat with friends over coffee and pastries or quietly read a book. I love their cinnamon rolls (they are addictive). Their coffee (and home made syrups) are fantastic. The service is top notch.
Storyville is my favorite coffee shop in Seattle. The Queen Anne location stays fairly busy, but they always get orders out quickly, and the coffee is the best in Seattle. Decent Gluten Free & Vegan food options and some of the best house-made coconut-cashew milk in the world.
Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops. Can get crowded, but if you can only drink decaf like me- they have a wonderful tasting decaf. Also recommend trying the coconut cashew milk
Amazing staff and delicious cold brew without the bitterness.
Very good experience! Friendly staff and comfortable setting. The coffee was amazing and the food was high quality. Definitely a must visit in Seattle and a perfect place to get good coffee.
Amazing and real lit 🔥 sandwiches. Thanks Alex! Straight up best service around.
Storyville Coffee is reliably excellent in my experience. Ive also been to their downtown Seattle location and the Bainbridge Island mother ship and roastery. Their coffee beans are great and they consistently draw as good a cortado as Ive had anywhere. They pay attention to the fit and finish of their stores and the Queen Anne location is very nice. Excellent pastries baked in-house too.
Quaint coffeeshop in Queen Anne, fantastic coffee each done with careful crafting. Didnt get a pastry but they look amazing. Would definitely recommend!
Nice interior in a nice little intersection in Queen Anne, but the coffee was bleh. I popped in to buy some beans, so my experience is limited to the beans themselves. I will preface this by saying that I am pretty picky about my coffee and I usually roast my own beans. The beans they have are burnt to Starbucks levels (not good) and only a heavy dose of milk could save you from the burnt flavor.Still, a nice little coffee shop, just dont go looking for good coffee here.
Their A board proudly states that they were voted best coffee roaster by ... a wine magazine. They largest pour they do is 12oz coffee. Besides that, the coffee is OK and they have some delightful mini pastries. Ridiculous Star-Trek looking coffee bar. Cozy seating area with a couple of chairs and a fireplace.
Best. Service. Ever. There is a lot of good coffee in Seattle. Storyville stands out in its wonder-filled environment, appropriately marked by their logo of a kid running with a toy plane. These guys believe in hospitality, not just customer service! Come in, appreciate life, love everybody.
On the pricey side (cookie and a latte cost you $5 less at Herkimer as an example). But they get it right EVERY TIME. Its actually kind of amazing. Its the only coffee place I frequent on this particular hill.
Beautiful shop that shares design cues from their Pike Place location. Love the fireplace and comfy lounge seating. I was bummed they did not serve chai, but they made me a black tea latte that was pretty good. They even offered me a complementary slice of chocolate. Ive heard that is something they do everyday. It was delicious!
Nice neighborhood place. Menu is narrow but their pesto bacon sandwich is delicious and not huge. Really nice
The employees are very nice! The coffee is excellent:) Small selection of baked goods. The sea salt caramel cookie was delicious!
Try breakfast sandwich pleeease its perfect
