Omg I seriously miss this place - one of the most affordable places to get vegan food around Seattle! And breakfast/brunch options! So rare! π₯Ίβ₯οΈ canβt wait for them to reopen, definitely give them a try when they do!
A cute little place for breakfast. We had the biscuits and gravy and Rainier Beach Breakfast. The staff are friendly and was very accommodating when we wanted substitutions in our meals. I love that its vegan/vegetarian because as a Muslim foodie, that means I can enjoy a variety of meals that I usually cant get anywhere else. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good, but a little bland. Nothing that a little Tapatio cant take care of. I love the calm atmosphere. Im definitely coming back to try the quiche.
Great atmosphere, seating and tasty food. There are healthy menu like vegetable hash with eggs. Califlower soup was really delicious as well. They also have baked goods! Very family friendly and there are good amount of seating available. Price may be a bit on the high side but food quality is great. You ge what you paid for in my opinion. I will go back.to this place.
I miss them so much! The best coffee in the south end, hands down. Upstairs was busy and thriving, downstairs was chill, dark, usually child-free, perfect for work or reading or relaxing. Food always delicious, βmuch better than it needs to beβ. I canβt wait until you open again.
Iβve had both the breakfast sandwich and the biscuits and gravy - awesome! I donβt know why exactly, but the lattes here are incredible. I hesitantly ordered one and then had a second (itβs been so long since Iβve really enjoyed one). Thereβs a ton of delicious looking pastries and a large downstairs area - donβt let the small(ish) upstairs fool you. Combine it all with very friendly service and it is a must for anyone looking for a breakfast / lunch place.
Brought my Dad and grandparents here for a quick breakfast this morning and had a lovely experience all around. Our food was ready right away (although the cafe was very busy!) and we had no problem finding a table for 4. They have specific tables reserved for larger groups as well as extra seating downstairs! I LOVED their vegan options - avocado toast, the TLT, vegan savory croissant π€€. And the guy working the front was so nice! He helped us figure out what to order and explained where everything was (must have been obvious we were first timers). He also brought out some complimentary vegan brownies for us when he heard some of us were vegan! Highly recommend this spot for all - vegan or not, solo or with a group. This place is also suitable for those wanting to work on their laptop. ππ½ Happy eats!
I was honestly very pleasantly surprised by this local spit with vegetarian breakfast options. Ingredients were all of high quality, and with a counter service model of service the good is the main focus. Their pastries all looked amazing, and they were busy and definitely a major neighborhood gathering spot
Super quality vegetarian and vegan fare! Flaky curried tofu and spinach croissant, creamy vegan biscuits and sage βsausageβ gravy, tea smoked tofu lettuce tomato sandwich on grand central bread! Heaven. Best vegan breakfast in Seattle area in my opinion. Coffee top notch too
Great little local coffee shop! Tasty food and a kind staff. Definitely worth a visit!
Nice cosy little place. Lovely staff. Open for breakfast and lunch. Didnt eat there but the menu looks great as do the cakes and pastries. Vegan and gluten free options available. Nice coffee
The almond croissant was delicious and Im for sure getting it again next time! There was also a vegan almost croissant option and next time I want to order both and do a taste test. I had brought in my jogging stroller not realizing how cozy the cafe is, but the staff never made me feel like a jerk for taking up space with the stroller. Even though the utensils were self service, they brought a fork to me for my frittata cause I was holding my son who was very wiggly. It was a really helpful, welcoming experience. Thank you for that Redwing!
They ran out of tofu and vegan biscuits. Its a small business...it happens. But the cook made me a special breakfast sausage sandwich to accommodate my dietary restrictions and that is five star service! Especially since it was also hella good. π
Love this place! Stayed in Seattle for a few days and went to this place two days in a row. The coffee is excellent and the vegan biscuits and gravy are to die for! Even though itβs vegetarian my meat eating boyfriend loved it! We wish we had a place like this back home.
This place is an absolute gem. The food is delicious and the staff/owners are kind and welcoming to all. This is the sort of place any neighborhood would be lucky to have.
Excellent service, cozy atmosphere, homey food - sandwiches, snacks, small plates. Pastries couldve been better but they still deserve 5 β
The Award Goes To βMinestrone SoupβGet ready review readers...I have NEVER liked minestrone soup. Iβve always nearly scoffed at Minestrone because I never had any that was worthy to continue eating. Iβve done Campbellβs to Pcc. The day I had this (pre-Covid) I wasnβt feeling well, at work, in the field and they were so gracious and gave me this adorable tin cup sample (it was like 1/4 cup of soup) and I felt loved, warmed and taken care of and it was Delightfully Delish!! Not only a rich but -not overly thick or salty-flavor but the nutrients it was made with was carrying an amazing flavor and this human body could feel the nutrients being funneled in, like a ride on a water slide of health and tasty.Yummy, happy good times. Gave me wings ;)I will return and when I do, no doubt minestrone to go!
Stopped in for an iced coffee. It was excellent! Wish Id known how good the food looked, I would have had lunch here too. The cafe has fun eclectic finishes. Friendly staff rounds out the experience.
Ok first of all β theyβre a vegetarian / vegan place. They shouldnβt be getting negative reviews for not serving meat?!Anyways, very friendly, welcoming staff and space. Never been here before this, but was headed through town on the way to go skiing and wanted a warm drink and snack. Their oat milk London fog is one of the best in recent memory and their vegan blueberry hand pie was SO FLAKY AND GOOD. My partner got an americano with room and was also super pleased.Honestly bummed I donβt live in the area or Iβd be here all the time!
I would recommend this place solely for the location and atmosphere. I thought the coffee was good but very average. I loved the art of the sea and ships on the wall and the windows in the back had a very pleasant view. It felt like the kind of place best enjoyed with an old friend to catch up.
Lovely little cafe to chill and relax. Its exactly what you want a neighborhood cafe to be. Friendly, with good but not pretentious coffee, homemade food items cooked to order, all day breakfast options, and comfortable decor that invites you to stay a while. If I had to nitpick, Id complain about their lack of bacon, but with a kitchen that small and everything cooked fresh (like I watched them chop the veggies for my hash) I can see how cooking bacon would be a pain.Fyi, lots of vegan options if thats your thing.
Tasty, varied menu with nice baked goods. Can be tricky to get a seat on weekends. Worth the wait.
Great service and delicious food! Everything was prepared incredibly fast and the servers were pleasant and accommodating. We spent a few days in Seattle and went here for breakfast both days. We had the biscuits and gravy, and the rainier beach breakfast which were both delicious and filling! Definitely worth trying!
Amazing atmosphere, great food, & better drinks! I had the biscuits and gravy (I think its vegetarian/vegan) & was impressed! I eat meat, but would eat this again! Great place, would recommend!
Great coffee, great breakfast foods and a super cozy place to work or hang out with a friend. Only minor complaint, not open on Mondays when I desperately need coffee and dont want to make it. Otherwise, my favorite frequent stop in the Rainier Beach area.
Great espresso? Grilled cheese with sharp Dubliner and tomato? Vegan blueberry hand pies? Nice lil private tables? A restroom with a vacant/occupied sign, so you never have to do one of those awkward loud coffee shop bathroom door knocks where you cant quite tell if someone inside said just a minute or if it was an echo from around the corner, and you have to risk either trying the handle like a jerk or standing outside an empty bathroom like a chump? Count me in. The only negative reviews for this place are salty omnivores who get fussy when one damn cafe doesnt have meat
Great coffee spot! Im so glad there is a place like this in my neighborhood. We were originally going to just get coffee here, but their menu looked so good we decided to grab some breakfast and it was absolutely worth it! I need to come back and try more things off their menu. The only thing that makes me sad about this place is they close so early and arent open on Mondays. Hope that can change in the future!
This place is great. Amazing coffee, friendly staff, and convenient location. I decided to initially go because its the closest coffee shop to my new building.
Funky vibe with cool art. Yummy food, fast, friendly service and vegan options. Good place for breakfast
Food and drink was good. I didnt appreciate that the server told a group of black folks that he didnt recommend putting hot sauce in the oatmeal. WTH?
The best biscuits and gravy! And the place has beautiful art works around the cafe, itβs a chill spot to be at. And the employees there are all very nice.
Their muffins are scrump. And the coffee is wonderful. 5/5 will come back
Excellent baked goods (especially almond croissants!) and my latte was very good. Pleasant vibe among the staff and patrons. Cool spot right in Rainier Beach.
Very great service! The staff were friendly and accommodating. One morning, there were low on eggs, but whipped up a delicious baked egg. The coffee is good, especially the latte, with its floral art designs. There is a large downstairs that can accommodate larger crowds. The cafe has a steady flow of customers coming in and out, so it does not always feel cramped. The ample windows gives great natural lighting to the cafe, which helps out if your are studying or working. Check out the artwork in the restroom, gives a hint of local art.
Vegetarian food... my preferred treat. The service here is great. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I liked.
Amazing latte, not too bitter, very smooth. The potatoes in the breakfast were quite well seasoned and delicious. Service is quick and friendly. Definitely coming back.
An Oasis on my 26.2+ mile walk. Good ambiance. Tasty food. Pleasant staff. Perfect.
This place is amazing! So many good options; cant wait to go try more.
Love this place. Neighborhood staple. Delicious coffee and great gluten free options.
We had the vegan biscuits and gravy which was the bomb!! The coffee was amazing. Will be back when we visit seattle
The best cafΓ© I discovered on my trip to Washington. Sweet people work there, amazing food and great music! Cute little cafΓ© sitting on a hill! I canβt wait to visit again!
What a beautiful little restaurant with delicious food. I had the Harambe salad which comes with a super tasty dressing. So good that I couldnt help dip the already deliciously flavored tea-smoked tofu. My Americano was perfection and the cacao nib cookie was the best. I love visiting this gem. There are changing art shows and there are so many beautiful details in the styling. The staff was helpful and service was prompt. I recommend you visit.
The coffee is delicious and the baked goods are amazing. Best place to get a healthy pre or post Jiu Jitsu training treat. The open kitchen layout makes the entire operation look like a performance.
Nice coffee shop a fixture in the neighborhood a place where everyone knows your name. Good healthy earth food for earth people. Hang inside, or out back in the garden.
Delightful slice of alternative culture in Rainier Beach. Tasty egg sandwich made to order. Great drip coffee.
Quiet cafe with excellent breakfast, lunch and baked goods along with great coffee.Regulars are very friendly and there is plenty of street parking.Get there before they close at 4pm daily.
Vegan - they bake their own - yummy wheat goat, fabulous almond croissants, espresso, neighborhood drop-in, friendly, cosy.
Delicious homemade mostly vegan food, incredible tasty treats, yummy coffee and super cool vibes! Xoxo
Very calm pleasant atmosphere. Nice staff. I ate granola, yogurt, few slices of an apple but would have liked a banana added too.
Delicious ethical vegetarian and vegan food in a cozy cafe. They are always hosting rad local artists on their walls. Redwing has the best staff!!!
The coffee is good, except that the cold brew (which had excellent flavor) was too gritty. The menu is vegetarian, and the roast veggie hash with eggs is nice.
Really fantastic neighborhood cafe. You cant beat the coffee, service or the tea smoked tofu (really, order this, Im not even vegetarian and I crave it). Its a gem!
I love this place. Great espresso and pastries, friendly staff and some of the seats have lake views. Perfect.
The food was tasty. the staff was excellent. It is worth going back to for sure.
The Redwing Cafe is so good. I had the best grilled cheese sandwich Iβd ever had. Nice atmosphere too.
Delicious fresh food and coffee. I had the wonderful vegetable hash and an americano with hemp milk, π
The food is interesting and delicious. What I especially liked, though, is the woodworked window ledges and custom wood tables. Unique, cute, neighborly cafe. Recommended!
We love everything weve ordered so far. Some favorites are the harambe salad, vegan biscuits and gravy, and the baked tofu sandwich (I think its called a btlt?). Their vegan chocolate chip cookie is also delicious!
Nice cozy place with friendly staff. Great vegetarian and vegan options.
Great place for vegetarian diet....great choices especially potatoes francharousfrancharous and veggie hash and 2 over easy eggs
Wonderful cafe serving vegetarian breakfast, sandwiches, salads and pastries. All made in house and high quality/ healthy.
Great place for great food. I love that the menu is not overwhelming with options. The jam and biscuits are to die for.
Yum, yum, yum! The vegan Biscuits & Gravy with sausage (plant-based) is SOOOO GOOD! I love trying local restaurants newly being vegan & was very impressed! We will be back soon!
A sweet little coffee shop with neighborhood charm, and their grilled cheese sandwiches are nummy!!!
Cool place with great coffee!! Super chill/interesting atmosphere, of youre in the neighborhood its worth stopping by for a bite to eat.
Best addition to Rainier Beach ever. Owned by wonderful people and it shows in their atmosphere and food!
The food is great, the coffee is great, everything is great... But those sticky buns. Good Lord, those sticky buns are dreamy.
This is a vegan/vegetarian restuarant. They do not serve wings. Or meat. Or meat products. Otherwise, the food was yummy and coffee was delicious!
Good food, but not much of a menu and smaller portions. But very good food.
Yummy food and friendly staff. Anthony is quite friendly.
First time in for breakfast. Amazing. The GF chocolate chip cookies are my favorite!!
Best vegan biscuit i think Iβve ever had
Some of the best pastries Ive had anywhere!
I love the spot. The basement is quite and the coffee is bottomless. Prices are a bit high and plates small. I just ordered less and keep it moving.
Practically perfect in every way. The food and decor are far above average, tucked away in a nearly hidden part of Rainier Beach, Old Town.
Delicious coffee. Looks like they have some interesting breakfast options, I didnt try any food though.
Ive been here Sooooo many weekends.Has a family feel and is super welcoming. Even though they dont have table service they still often bring your food out and bus quickly.Clean, friendly, just the right amount of loudAnd AMAZING FOODNOT KIDDINGAMAZINGVegetarian and vegan optionsGood stuff for meet eaters too
Great food, friendly staff and a nice, laid back atmosphere. They have decent vegan options, which is the main reason for our frequent visits.
Great neighborhood place. Food is yummy and prices are affordable.
Awesome vegan friendly and always tasty, avacodo toast π₯π₯π₯π₯
Anthony is such a great guy and the neighborhood is delighted to have our own lovely cafe. Beautiful in every regard: coffee, food, service, ambiance.
Great coffee, friendly staff, and sticky buns to die for. Great space for small groups, especially downstairs. Get there within the first hour of opening on the weekend for your pick of seating.
Homemade baked goods and great decaf! Vegan and gluten free choices.
Excellent customer service, super great vegan options, and my friends for gluten free omnivore options. Really enjoyed and will definitely be going back.
Love their biscuits and roasted potatoes.
The veggie/ hash/eggs breakfast (cant remember its official name) was to die for. Best ever. And the sticky buns.
Best breakfast sandwich I have ever had! Absolutely loved this little place
Great espresso drinks and Im a sucker for their quiche or frittata. Perfect place to sip coffee by the window with a book.
Nice place for a coffee .. most vegeterian food .I wish they told me its little spicy brake fast..
Excellent coffee and food. Vegan choices and all made with love and dedication to quality.
Ok if you like this kind of food. The avacado today sandwich was good..
