Great crepes and hot beverages. The staff are friendly and the prices are like old school Seattle--very reasonable. Cute little spot, too. The sidewalk seating area is fun and the area isnt too busy.
Great place and quick service. I work just around the corner and very convenient when I need a caffeine boost.
Joe bar is an excellent spot for coffee and crepes (or croissant!). Their staff are always on point and courteous. The crepes are well made and the croissants are delicious. They make a mean cup of coffee, strong as can be.Located in a lovely shady nook of the hill. Highly recommend.
I was in town to move my sister and I had been recommended Joe Bar by some of my former work colleagues. I stopped by and while I didnt get any crepes or anything, my brother really enjoyed his cold brew with oat milk and some sort of syrup. The service was pretty quick--probably because we went in the afternoon rather than the morning. I think that the staff was really welcoming, all you have to do is NOT assume that this is a Starbucks and that is in fact a local business so you should read the menu and see what is available--seriously its not that hard.
Popular cafe with friendly staff in a converted house. I ordered a Cappuccino, Mocha with Whipped Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Apple Cinnamon fritter. The cappuccino was OK, Mocha was good, but the whipped cream was like cheap grocery store quality, the cookie and fritter were good. The interior is... charming.. with beat up floors, green walls, and dirty interior. The cafe was full with a steady stream of new people arriving while we were there with limited seating, so plan accordingly. If youre in the area, stop by, otherwise I wouldnt make a point to visit
Top Notch food/coffee, Top Notch owner!👍
Best vanilla lattes. Miss the serrano Crepe, but still a huge fan of the ham beechers and egg Buckwheat crepes.
Was in town for a minute and was looking for a coffee joint close by, so saw this little place was walking distance and seemed decent, so went and got a coffee. Being used to ordering at Starbucks, I asked for a white Chocolate Mocha please. She says they dont have that so I settled for a mocha with caramel in it. The barista made me feel real d be u3umb for asking for the coffee I wanted.(not knowing their menu. ) She made me feel like an outsider, not welcoming at all unless I was regular. From my experience, good customer service brings customers in to your business. At least the coffee was good. Will be looking elsewhere for coffee next time.
Very nice guys, I tried to upload the menu as of June 15, 2021, but not sure how that works. Got a Chai, nice spice, not as sweet as a lot in the area. Substituted oat milk, they have oat, soy, and almond options.Going to have some crepes in a bit. Nice spot.
A nice hole in the wall type of vibe, it has a cozy atmosphere and food is good, friendly staff.
This place is super small with limited seating and can get extremely busy and crowded. The crepes were amazing and reasonably priced. I recommend the Nutella crepe for sure FOR SURE! Coffee was good too.The staff was really friendly and extremely efficient under pressure. They were slammed today and they didnt miss a beat!I will definitely eat here again.
Love this coffee shop around the corner. Friendly people, great crepes, cool art. Our favorite lunch time walk includes an Italian soda from here in the warm months.
Love this place. Friendly staff and it’s dog friendly!
Cute little café in the most charming corner! We stopped by on the way to the park, and decided to try it out since they have tables on the sidewalk. It was great! Good coffee, great food and vegetarian options too. Also, servers were super friendly! Will definitely go back!
I had errands to run around the Broadway area and stopped here first for breakfast and coffee. They have a great selection of crepes, coffees, and pastries. I ordered their oatmilk cardamom latte which was delicious and their smoked salmon crepe which I didnt enjoy as much. Overall, I left full and happy! They have limited outdoor seating but I had no trouble getting a spot at one of the three tables outside. Great for people watching!
Sweet, tiny place with cramped seating yet still comfortable with a few outdoor tables I appreciate. My food was great and the coffee even better, the staff I am neutral on (nothing bad but also not great). Definitely feels like a special cafe maybe because of the awesome building. Hope it stays put, kinda nice to have some stability in these times of vanishing Seattle with what seems like a very rare 21 year old Capitol Hill cafe. Also, while I’ve only met him once, Wylie seems like a lovely human and that’s important to me.
Super friendly staff and their cardamom latter was delicious! Would definitely go again
Joe Bar is one of my favourite cafes in Capitol Hill, there coffee is one of the best I’ve had in Seattle (compared to aussie coffee standards of course). The ambience is super cosy and staff are very friendly, basically all the makings of a great spot. Savoury crepes are pretty good too. PLUSPOINT: Great dogspotting with lots of friendly floofs :)
Favorite coffee & beer spot on cap hill. Awesome service 👍
A long time favorite coffee house of Capitol Hill. With a well earned rep.
Egg smash toast is the best non-dairy option
Small shop, but friendly folks. Great crepes. Its nice finding a place to get a coffee that isnt a megacorp. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL COFFEE SHOP!!!They are super good with the Pandemic and being as safe as possible.
Nice, friendly local coffee shop. On a nice day, sitting outside under a big tree and enjoying a cup of coffee here while people- and dog-watching is an enjoyable activity. Solid neighborhood spot.
Ive been coming here since college, which was... a loong time ago. Wed grab coffee and hang before catching a movie at the Harvard Exit theatre across the street (no longer there, sadly). The crepes, both savory and sweet, are delicious. Ive always enjoyed their variety of coffee, tea, beer & wine (sometimes get lucky with mulled wine in the fall!). The trees and atmosphere are beautiful outside too. True, its small inside, so hard to count on grabbing a seat some days, but worth it if you can and see some amazing rotating art!
Perfect neighborhood cafe. Excellent baked goods and friendly service. Interesting building!!
Excellent coffee and delicious crepes
Love the crepe and the vibes!
Quick, friendly service, nice selection of pastry items and good coffee. Kitchen doesnt open till later in the day, so early a.m. trips are limited to items from the pastry case and not the full menu. Great neighborhood spot!
Great coffee and tea. Sick art on the walls. Friendly.
Had some tasty crepes
Very cozy duplex-lofted space with a small house feel. Big windows allow a lot of light in on a sunny day. Very slow WiFi speeds. Bright 80s dance music. Friendly service. Not a quiet space.
A great little coffee shop - friendly staff and welcoming ambience. They had a good selection of non-dairy milks as well as wine. Very nice!
Cute neighborhood cafe with good crepes. They were busy on a weekend afternoon but we were still able to find seating. Atmosphere was homey. Had the savory crepe with egg, Beechers cheese and arugula. Next time I hope to try one of their sweet crepes.
Great little cafe with espresso options, and small breakfast crepes, among other small eatery options.
I love this place. They make you feel welcome and you can stay as long as you like. A Seattle treasure. Try a crepe!
Joe Bar is an old school Seattle coffee shop that still has that great vibe. Super friendly staff and always great coffee.
I had a good coffee and some tasty crepes for a reasonable price. To top it all off the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a nice breakfast guys :)
Visited on a Sunday noon for brunch. The place is small and was busy.Pros: nice ambiance, it has a very small seating area outside, you get coffee and drinks quickly. Our fresh orange juice was nice and refreshing.Cons: While the food tasted good, it was cold. We ordered 2 plates of the toast, both were cold - one with soft boiled eggs as if straight from the fridge, and another, an avocado toast. We also ordered a smoked salmon buckwheat crepe & the crepe was overcooked, almost a little burnt in some spots. Have eaten much better crepes at other places. There was just one person cooking all the food orders, so it took a long time to arrive. Be ready for a wait for your food during a busy time of the weekend.Had been wanting to try out this place for a long time, so was a little disappointed with our food.
This will always be my favorite coffee bar on Capitol Hill. Its the place I first started going when I moved here. The staff, the layout, and parts of the menu have changed in the past 6 months or so, but its still great. I think other than the coffee the crepes are their claim to fame. I like their savory ones. (Not much of a sweet tooth - havent tried the others.) Their cheese / veggie sandwich is also very nice. Its a cool place in a building that has a lot of Seattle / Capitol Hill history. I like that its near Cornish and draws a lot of artists and musicians. Just be prepared for a packed house. There are other good fall back options nearby if you cant get a seat.
Bess Jacob and his toast! The food is amazing, the coffee is great too:)
Adorable little coffee shop. Latte was really good and staff was super friendly. Pasty seemed a little old, otherwise awesome!
Greatest staff! Love the clean food options. The atmosphere is charming and relaxing. :)
Super cozy cafe with WiFi, yummy food, coffee, and beer! Went here the other night to do some work on my laptop. It was cold and rainy out so I thought coffee in a place I havent been before sounded great. But then I saw that they serve beer. If you can, I say always drink on the job. ;) It is definitely cozy, but it makes the place super intimate. Nice for a first date. The staff are also super friendly and engaging. Will definitely be back.
The BEST cafe I’ve ever been in Seattle. An amazing atmosphere and environment, very good latte and croissant. Delicate interior decoration, relaxing outdoor seats in the tree shadow. Cute second-floor seats.
Super cute. Its cozy as all get out. Its a great little local place. They have some beer and wine available as well.
Such a cool spot! Perfect for a breakfast / lunch stop. Recommend sitting outside under the shade of the tree, and enjoying your coffee. That area feels like youve stepped out of Seattle and into a Dutch neighborhood!
Really enjoyed our experience! Great atmosphere, lots of menu selection. Felt like we were taken good care of!
Not a bad little place to get coffee and crepes. Ill be back for sure! Just wish it was a bit bigger. It can get busy and cramped pretty quick
Hesitant to review here because I want to keep this place my little secret. Obviously Im way to late for that because this is the neighborhoods coffee bar. Great coffee and good food. Its a great place to work for a few hours. Feels like home away from home.
Cute little spot to chill with a cup of coffee! I had the drip coffee. Nothing to rave about next time Ill get the solo espresso I really wanted. Kitchen was closed but the snacks and menu looks tasty enough where I would definately come back and try a few items! They also serve wine (a plus in my book) And have happy hour discounts.
Tasty coffee and delicious crêpes
Charming coffee shop - really cute mezzanine seating and great coffee. I had a chai latte and it was perfect.
One of my favorite neighborhood haunts. Friendly staff, great coffee, good crepes and terrific laid back atmosphere. Outside tables provide very dog friendly space too.
Cute and intimate little coffeeshop. Barista was super friendly and good coffee!
One of the coolest cafes to sit with a book, very cool interior. Never had bad coffee or bad service here. Can get a little crowded due to the size
Quite possibly my favorite coffee spot in coffee crazy Seattle. And that is saying a lot!Very friendly folks, and very cozy. Not good for big groups, but if you want a cozy little European feeling coffee hideout, with a bunch of artsy capitol hill types, this is the place. You can also sit outside under the big tree, where the tables are not level, a la Paris, and watch the world go by.
This is my favorite neighborhood coffee shop! The ambiance is the best part; the inside is very quaint and cozy and the outdoor seating on Roy Street gives the best vibe...with the little red cafe tables, the shady street and the surrounding architecture, I feel like Im in Paris. The amazing view of Lake Union at the end of Roy St reminds you youre in beautiful Seattle. I usually order a latte and just a croissant, toasted with brie. The queso plate is surprisingly generous and the assortment is perfection. Greatest place for a morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine.
A great, cozy cafe. Theyve got some fun little board games in the corner by the window. Loved the atmosphere and that there was a loft for additional seating
Funky little out of the way place. great staff and atmosphere.
Good coffee and crepes. The specials are always interesting.
LOVE this little place. The iced Americano is amazing. Great, friendly service, a little outdoor seating area. Food is typical French cafe style and works.
Great ambiance, with an upper level to nestle up in. Crepes and sandwiches are great as well!
First ever google review. Im torn on the one hand not leaving a review is an injustice to this place and on the other telling people how great this place only makes the lines longer and my wait for coffee longer in the morning.Great place. The way a coffee shop should be.
This is such a little gem of a coffee shop! The decaf iced Americano has such great flavor. They also have a selection of crepes and sandwiches to choose from. The cinnamon and sugar is a favorite. Great atmosphere if you want to sit down and do some work or just quickly stop in for a cup.
There is something magical about this quirky little coffee shop... limited seating can be a challenge, but is also part of its charm. Great coffee and crepes if youre not in a rush.
I love this little place. Very local, great service, great place to work & good crepes :)
Love this place. Friendly staff, good coffee, unique but delicious crepes. The upstairs is a little weird for me because Im 6 feet and the top of my head touches the ceiling.
Great coffee. Quiet place. Neighborhood feel.
Definitely my favorite coffee shop on the hill! The drinks are top notch and the food is delish, try a crepe, any crepe, I DARE YOU!Really cool art installations as well and an eclectic and fun group of regulars, worth a visit and a quick jolt.
Excellent breakfast and brunch place. I was lucky enough to sit outside on this quiet side street. Really a cool vibe here.
This has been one of my favorite coffee places for as long as I can remember. Love sitting either upstairs or outside on the sidewalk enjoying my coffee.
I wish they had a little more food, and more room to sit. But its a tiny little place with great coffee and some drinks. Nice place to come relax with caffeine or with alcohol!
Cute cafe place with light food and amazing coffee. Very quirky... But adorable, plays laid back music and has two stories... Ate the salami panini and was delicious!
Best Vanilla Latte... Ever!
The service at this place is terrible, and the only reason it doesnt deserve one star is because the food & coffee are good. First, the guy at the front counter seemed annoyed when I asked him a basic question. My cappuccino came out quickly but they totally forgot about my food, and when the same guy brought it to me, he just handed it to me without saying anything, much less an apology. You can easily find another place in the area with solid coffee and better service.
Great place to get cozy, bring friends, make friends, and check out some sweet art that rotates monthly. 🎉
Great little coffee shop (big words from apparently the only person in Seattle who doesnt like coffee..
Very good coffee and food. I had a really good avocado toast and my husband had a delicious crepe.
A perfect little slice of old Capitol Hill character!!
Love this small coffee/wine/beer/food place in the neighbor. They have good coffee, enough beer and wine selections. Their crepe is a must!
Very good coffee, crepe was okay. Nothing to write home about
