I cant wait for this spot to re-open! As a transplant to the city, this was my first real Seattle cafe experience that truly blessed my soul. The excellent staff, tasty food, high vibrational conversations, an open mike & all around good energy does not disappoint.
Great vegan food in a laid back atmosphere. I had the gluten-free macaroni and cheese and was pretty amazed! Others in my party had various sandwiches and were very impressed. Good selection of breakfast and lunch items, plus a variety of coffee and tea beverages. Conveniently located by Othello Station. Highly recommended!
Wow. This place is incredible. We are from DC and have driven across the country over the past week - vegan options have been few and far between. Stopped here for coffee and breakfast this morning and were blown away. The pesto sandwich is the best vegan breakfast sandwich weve ever had. The oatnilla was rich and creamy. And the atmosphere is perfect. A beautiful patio with cool decor made for a perfect breakfast spot for us to enjoy our meal with our dog. The staff are attentive and kind. This is the best breakfast spot, you wont be disappointed. We will definitely visit next time were in Seattle!
Cant say enough about this place. The staff are super friendly, they even called me once when I forgot one of the items on my order. Best of all, their vegan and vegetarian cuisine is actually great food! My past experience with plant-based establishments usually results in a disappointing pile of soy, sugar, and breading. Not this place. I didnt even know it was plant-based until my wife told me. Everything was so savory and delicious particularly the breakfast wraps, they even have chicken nuggets that are unbelievably good and NOT chicken. By all means, put this place on your list.
Discovered this place during the pandemic of last year and this is our favorite breakfast spot for quick food and coffee. My favorite is the pesto breakfast sandwich and oatnilla cold brew latte (best Ive ever had!). Can rely on this spot for solid food and coffee! Not vegan, but I appreciate the plant based food. And definitely the non dairy options for the coffee!
Had a great time with my friend and the cold brew had me energized all day for work! Will definitely try the oatmilk cold brew latte next time as well as the other meal options! Loved the fire pits too and the staff was all very friendly. My friend told me about the things they do for the community and the lil shows theyve had (pre-covid). Excited to see what they have to offer once things start mellowing out with the Pandemic.
This place is such solid vegan comfort food. I moved farther from them, and they are the only place I’ll pay a 7 dollar delivery charge because their food is that good.Hands down the best vegan Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. The oat milk latte is bomb, the wrap and breakfast sandwich is bomb, the sambusa is bomb. The kind of place I try something different from every time I order because I’m always discovering new flavors and food from them.
Great cafe in the South End. It is right by the train station. The staffs are very friendly and make great drinks. I like their matcha latte the best. It is not sweet like Starbucks. They offer variety of coffee and tea, baked goods from a local bakery, breakfast and lunch. Street parking only. They also host many events like comedy night, jazz, open mic, etc.
Well worth the drive! Parking is tough but delicious vegan breakfast foods makes it worth it!
Best cafe in Seattle for those living the veggie life. I recommend the mac and cheese and the Morgan sandwich but add a hashbrown to it. Great cafe that gives back to their community and really just has that charm that keeps you coming back. Baked goods here seem to rotate but honestly Ive never tried something here that i didnt end up liking. Definitely stop by if you havent already. Lovely people with delicious food and drinks.
YUM! Favorite quick breakfast spot when I need a treat. Pesto breakfast sandwich is my favorite, staff is wonderful ✨Highly recommend
Upset I have been until this point but will be coming back mayyyybe a few times per month? Food was great, exactly what a vegan breakfast sandwich should be. Thank you for providing inclusive options to the community. (Photo below is the vegan bacon breakfast sandwich.)
In the 90s in Memphis TN there was a movement of connectedness manifested in the form of a downtown coffee shop called Precious Cargo which sat on the corner of Main St and Exchange.Precious Cargo is no longer operating, however when I walked through the doors of Cafe Red I was engulfed with the same energy of years ago. Like Precious Cargo, it is a space of creative beings and connectedness that feeds my soul.New to Seattle, Cafe Red will always be for me a taste of home by the Mississippi River while residing near the Puget Sound. Soul is soul is soul and it manifests itself here. I highly recommend this space.
You know how when you enter some place and feel right at home. Thats how I felt when I entered this neighborhood cafe. I have been wanting to check this place out for awhile, just off of the Othello Light Rail station. I live in Ballard but visit my dad often on the weekends in the Rainier Valley neighbored. I mostly. came to see a friends art exhibit that was being displayed till the end of August but it gave me a great excuse to check it out. Love the various non dairy options. I usually go with hemp but will do oat milk when Im curious to see the art latte my first time. The person at the counter was very friendly and I noticed Salmonberry Goods pastries being sold there which made me feel right at home even though I didnt get anything to eat. Near work I often go to Convoy Coffee and in Ballard my first stop at the farmers market is Salmonberry. Alex and David do great things and I know any shop their connected is rated well by them.Sat a while reading my book after taking some shots of my friends art. Watched the interaction of In thinking the owner with regular customers. Genuine and heartfelt would definitely return.
Absolutely delicious pastries, vegan sandwiches, and lattes. My favorite drink is the Canella Latte, which is like a perfect French pastry in coffee form. Staff is kind and knowledgeable, and ordering is pretty easy. A great find in the Othello neighborhood!
Ive not visited yet. Im hoping to be there sometime soon with my cameras (both regular 2D and 360° camera as a trusted local guide in Google Maps & Google Street View (now with > 14.6M views). Lots of good coffee places around. Im hoping its one of the best when I visit.
Great service, with delicious plant-based drinks and food offerings. Highly recommend the oatnilla latte!
Cute place, lovely patio, awesome food!
The best part of waking up is a moment of vegan sausage sammie in your neiborhood.
An interesting Ubereats pickup spot in a great location. However its under remodel combined with COVID-19 Restrictions make it temporarily user unfriendly. Apparently the food and beverage are great?-wDp
Excellent vegan choices ! Ive had a couple of wraps with chikn (vegan meat ) very tasty & impossible for me to tell the difference between theirs and regular meat. Great Americano too!
Super delicious all vegan food!
Best mac and cheesebest avo toasttastiest vegan food in seattle!
Such good coffee and plant-based food! The vibes and music are great and the folks are always awesome. Owners are dedicated to the community, and it makes Cafe Red an amazing spot.
Just nasty coffee took them 8 mins to make a 16oz mocha it was week taste like it was made with old used coffee grounds never again waste of $6 bucks
Great place to start the day, good food, good coffee, and friendly staff. I recommend the pesto sandwich, which to be honest is all I had, but I had it twice because it was sooo good!
I recently read Cafe Red went fully vegan and decided Id give them a shot. I went with another vegan friend, we decided to try them out for breakfast and holy molé. I got the Sausage breakfast Sandwich and a Buffalo chicken wrap. It was very savory, filling and I had to double check their page to make sure it was all actually vegan since the texture gets very close to animal meat (for better or worse lol). Staff was very friendly and the setup looks very quaint. Bonus points for the little fire pits to stay warm while you wait! And it goes without saying but the coffee is great as well. One of the only pitfalls is the food is definitely more on the pricey side, but (in my opinion) so worth every penny. 28$ for the Oatnilla (Oatley oat milk with their coffee blend + flavoring) seems like a steep price as well. Will DEFINITELY be returning!
Amazing vegan food and coffee! If you go try the peppermint oatnilla latte, it was so good!!
Over priced, gross looking food and the serving sizes are for tiny people or maybe a infant? Not to mention the girl was giving everyone attitude for not wearing a mask and we are waiting outside
Cafe Red is hands down, without a doubt, THE best vegan spot in town. That vegan pesto is just 🤯
This is such a cool, friendly coffee shop! The art on the walls was done by a survivor of human trafficking. The Tumeric Carrot Soup was so delicious! I would honestly go back just for that! The servers were so friendly and the whole vibe of the place was very positive.
Great little spot with a friendly staff. Vegan options available including plant based bacon
Pesto breakfast sandwich with vegan bacon was fire!
Awesome customer service. Great quiet little nook to read for fun or work. Coffee is tasty and made with love. The peanut butter sesame cookie is a complete meal!
Delicious food and coffee! Great place to hang out and enjoy some local artists since they regularly get local performers to play here (pre-COVID).
I highly recommend Cafe Red. A really relaxing, intimate space with a great selection of coffee, tea, and beer. (Havent gotten to try the food.) Staff is great, music is great, really everything is great. Check it out!
Love this place! Warm, friendly staff with a real commitment to the community. Both food and beverages are top-notch. Turmeric Chai Latte is my favorite!
Food is absolutely delicious! The sandwiches and the vegan mac and cheese are great. Great vegan options too. Highly recommend!
What an interesting place, right off the light link rail station Othello.Coffee and Tea is served in the morning but I saw ads that there are events in the evening like live music. Calm atmosphere
This is awesome cafe. Clean area and friendly staff.
Dont be fooled by the trailer exterior. This place is clean and cozy inside with friendly staff and friendly customers. I ordered chocolate chai and a vanilla cinnamon latte. Both were tasty and not too sweet. The patio seating is open all year, protected from the rain with a tent.
Visiting the US for a month. Been to a different cafe every day.Cafe Red has the best coffee I have tasted in my whole visit!Very good, much much better than Starbucks.Panini was very good too.
Cafe Red is an adorable small and friendly local coffee shop that also serves simple but delicious sandwiches. The staff members of this establishment are wonderfully humorous and genuine. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. I am also pleased to note that they have a few non-dairy options for your coffee!!! 😀 Those options include almond, soy, and oat milks.
So grateful for this place! Food is good, coffee is good, people and vibe are very good too. And, impossibly, considering it’s Seattle, they’re the only competition in the area. Unless you count the grocery store Starbucks across the way, which you don’t. Come here!!
Food is not good at all. Coffee tasted odd
Best small local coffee shop ever! Staying in Seattle is definitely hard if youre traveling by yourself but since Im just a walk away from this schnazzy place, I definitely have my favorite local coffee shop! My friend introduced me to this place the first day I landed here and by good lord their sandwich got me hooked! The next day before I started my adventure, I stopped by to get a cup of coffee! They feature a couple of coffees that I am not familiar with and one of the owners offered to do the Haiti coffee that they have and MY MOUTH WAS BRILLIANTLY SATISFIED. Stop by here if youre ever around Othello!
Friendly staff, good place to meet up and talk. Nice little outdoor seating area behind the cafe. Good coffee and other beverages!
Loved this place! No airs about it. Just real people and great coffee.
I love this place! Its small and charming and a great coffee/food place. it has all kinds of alternative options for dairy, I really enjoy the oat milk option 🧡 and the food is delicious!
This is my absolute favorite place to get a vegetarian or vegan breakfast in Seattle. Their breakfast sandwiches and coffee are amazing, it’s next to the link station and nearby street parking is free and easy...don’t miss out!
The mac n cheese is amazing!!! I love my oat milk lattes and the staff is super friendly. I also really love their commitment to the community!
Amazing coffee selection! Has option for pour overs with a handful of different beans. Definitely my new spot
Stopped in one day after looking at some real estate in the area. The owners were super friendly and the vegetarian sandwiches were cheap and tasted great!! The vibe inside is very welcoming as well. Highly recommended!
The best Cafe in Seattle hands down! All product is locally sourced and the menu is fantastic. All food menu options can be prepared vegan and the options for alternative milks are extensive. I love Oat milk! The couple that owns the place are wonderful humans, lots of artists coming through regularly, this is one of my favorite spots to hang out.
A throwback to a time all its own replete with a beat-era genetic bloom. Coffee you say? Espresso in Cuban attire, all dressed up and everywhere to go. Overprotective baristas pouring handcrafted lattes sheltered from the norm. A carefully considered beer menu with a weve got your back construct. Vegetarian food concoctions named at birth. Live Hiphop, jazz, open mics,- all of this with a focus on community minded diversity. Check it out.
Cafe Red has some of the best hot drinks Ive had in a while. You cant go wrong with any of their lattes! If youre going vegan the options are also amazing and you cant go wrong with any of the food. Enjoy!
This spot is so comfortable. Feels like home. I had the turmeric rooibos chai it was fabulous.
Delicious paninis, avocado toast, and vegan mac n cheese. Best of all, amazing and super friendly staff! You can also order ahead with the Joe Coffee App so your food and drinks are ready when you arrive. Love this place!
This place is delightful. The staff is relaxed and friendly creating a welcoming and engaging enviroment. The coffee program is shockingly well developed. Having a wide variety of pour over options and some delicious espresso pulled on an old and well cared for faema e61 was a fun surprise. On top of those the food was delicious. I would highly recommend!
Very impressive cafe with an awesome selection of vegan and non-vegan eats and drinks. It also doubles as a intimate live performance space with great sound and supportive crowds.
A very down to earth and homely corner cafe that if youre going to fast in life you just may miss it but if youre lucky enough to catch it in the corner of your eye, you wont be disappointed for stopping in and giving the proprietor a chat. My suggestion: the house special (double shot of lightly sugared espresso served with a frothy top)!
Great coffee and great service.
Cafe red holds it down. The food drinks n staff are all great. But the events are really what make it shine. Keep it up!
Quiet little shop across from the Othello train station. Young and socially conscious crowd come up Open Mic nights, comedy nights, and board game nights. Which are MY personal favorite.
Amazing owners, cute coffee shop. The have a borrow a book shelf which is pretty cool. Coffee is amazing!!
My go to spot for coffee in the area. Each drink received extra attention to make sure it’s high quality. The store is friendly, casual, and artsy. Love what they are trying to do for the local scene.
Cute little venue with really nice staff and a cool nightlife vibe. Also the mimosas were super good.
This place is great! Delicious coffee and great place to just relax and read or meet a friend for a beer. Great music on the weekends and Wednesday night stand up is worth checking out.
Nice service, you get a really pretty view outside while sipping your coffee, but the coffee was alright.
Coffee was sub par.... The Morgan is pretty tasty although a bit pricey. Service was quite friendly and punctual.
Super tasty coffee and sandwich. I usually get the cortadao or something like that I think it’s a Cuban coffee. Today, featured in this picture is an iced doppio with heavy cream(recommended by another patron of cafe red) it was very nice, the ratio of espresso to cream was perfect! Also, I had the Austin sandwich with added avocado and a hash brown on the side. The sandwich was phenomenal, great balance of flavors and very filling. I highly recommend this place, especially for vegetarians ;)
Just delightful
Unique location and vibe. Great music and amazing sandwiches. Friendliest staff ever. Never pretentious.
Very cool place. Nice little library of books with a red theme. You can tell that a lot of care goes into running this place, and I love that. My wife and I both got drinks and they were great. And if you dont like coffee, im pretty sure I saw some Martinellis (Best apple juice in the world) in the fridge for sale.
The staff are always friendly and the food and drink is pretty good. Cafe itself is always nice and warm during winter so its very welcoming.
Great coffee! Every time I stop here I like it more!
I was working across the street early in the morning and desperately needed a cup of coffee. I looked around and couldnt believe there wasnt any kind of coffee shop. After I googled it, I realized was standing right in front of Cafe red. Very unassuming. A super friendly stoner hooked us both up with our first cups of coffee as they were just opening. I had a good laugh, a great cup of coffee, and I think he saved both of our lives, or at least our morning. Hooray for coffee!
Excellent food and beverage offerings. I have a delicious vegan sandwich during one of their late night hip hop performances, they really know how to turn up!
Such a cozy and inviting place. I really love the coffee and hospitality
Cafe Red is rad! Jesiah and Hailey are the best. Great coffee shop environment during the day, Thursday night open mics, and awesome live performances on the weekends. This place is just the best!
Best vegan Mac and cheese in the game! Love this place.
Best chocolate chip cookies in Seattle. Great little outdoor space on 43rd Ave, opposite MLK. Extremely lit evening events, esp. featuring local hip-hop some weekends.
Made-to-order vegan/vegetarian breakfast sandwiches are the bomb! Especially love the Brighton for those lazy weekends. Horchatta cold brew. Its a thing. So good. Frozen matcha is super tasty without a lot of additives like the competition. Books. Cool magazines. Comfy space. They now have beer and even a watermelon Mead. Outside seating and events as well. Cool owners.
A cozy coffee shop with good coffee in a cool building that offers music and other events. Support local here!
Local spot with delicious carefully selected. Coffee and connected owners. They host small events and artists local anx otherwise and are committed to supporting local community
Loved the space and the Canella latte is delicious! They also have a variety of food options, made to order, and a drink menu!
It’s a very nice place. I loveeeeee their food and the people working there are very humble.
Overall the food was fine but the service was generally slower than I expected. I was in a rush at the time so that could have just been my context clouding the experience.
The best neighborhood cafe in South Seattle
Great coffee shop that just opened. They used to operate a coffee cart on this corner but have now opened a brick and mortar store. If youve been missing their coffee on the way to the train, its back!
