Is Anchorhead Coffee the best cafe? I can’t answer objectively, mostly because I haven’t visited them all (yet), but I can certainly tell you it’s up for consideration. This cafe is perfect. The vibes are immaculate. The decorations are perfect. It’s not too big or too small. The breakfast sandwich is a classic with a delicious jammy twist. The espresso is smooth, just bitter enough, and it leaves a delicious aftertaste.I will be back every time I visit Seattle!
Delicious and smooth latte very well made. They also have come baked goods and sandwiches.I love the outdoor seatings at this Anchorhead Coffee. Several tables laid out sparsely outside an office building half floor above the street. Just far enough from the street that you can still feel the pulse of the downtown Seattle but stay out of its frenzy.
They won a Best Espresso competition. Hopefully thats enough to entice you to get coffee here. If not, theyre one of the few that are open before 9 AM.**Highly recommend:-Honey Bunches of Cold Brew (esp if you like it sweet and creamy). Sweet Level: 3/5-Lavender Latte was unique. Sweet Level: 4/5-Hot Mocha (what mornings should start with). Sweet Level 1/5.*sweetness level is based on my own taste buds. Also, its June 2021. Masks are still pretty much mandatory, but you can eat inside.
One of our all time favorite coffee spots! Dont leave Seattle without trying a quaffle, breakfast sandwich, or their specialty cold brew with seasonal flavors. Our goal during a (May 2017) trip was to try as many new coffee shops as possible, but once we found this one we were hooked and couldnt justify going anywhere else for a quick brunch.
This is hands down the best coffeehouse we went to in our time in Seattle. It was also great because it literally across from our hotel. The lines are long but it moves fast. My husband loves their double shot espresso equal parts water and add whip chip. The flavor is rich and deep and satisfying. I love their chai latte, it’s the best I’ve tried so far. The chai had deep chai spice flavor and definitely not from a powder. Right amount of sweet. Delicious!! I also got their matcha latte, very nutty if you like that taste. Great place!
Only place open around that section of downtown. Coffee had extra, Unnecessary flavors that completely clash. A caramel latte with coconut and lavender is enough to cause vomit. Check next to the locked bathroom, I left some at the door I couldnt get through.
We got the lavender coconut cameral latte, quaffle, and their bacon cheese scone. The latte was DELICIOUS! It was smooth, sweet, and has a hint of lavender in it. The quaffle and scone were fresh and tasted good as well. This place has a lot of indoor and outdoor seatings with charging outlets, perfect for people who like to get work done while enjoying a nice cup of coffee. 10/10 would recommend!
Really good biscuit sandwiches and way better than average espresso. Top notch!
Very nice atmosphere. I would get my coffee here very often, they have a good selection and the coffee is really, really good and also the waffle, you have to try the waffle! One more thing I love about this place is that you get a good discount if you bring your own cup! Oh yeah and they make their own almond milk, it’s a game changer!
The best coffee in Seattle hands down! This is my favorite place, and I love the staff. You always receive a warm welcome and great coffee! What else could you ask for in gloomy Seattle?
Glad I got there before 8am (before the line outside started....)Honey Bunches Cold Brew is delicious if youre curious. My wife downed it with glee, I was lucky to get a taste. That cheddar bacon breakfast sandwich was also a delight. Same for banana 🍞 loaf....Id go back again and again (and Im not a coffee shop fanatic)
Stayed one night in Seattle for a game and decided to try this place since it was near our hotel. I loved every thing about it. Our coffees were amazing, our banana loaf delicious and the atmosphere inviting. I even got a bag of coffee so I could brew at home. Definitely hope to come back soon.
This coffee shop is definitely a little bit busier than others in the area, but the coffee is worth the wait! Their single origin Ethiopian is some of the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. Not only is their coffee good but their baked good are great as well. I will make sure to visit again when I come back to Seattle.
This is a great place to get a treat breakfast. I gave it 4 stars because I believe the only food they make on site is the waffle. All other food are reheated. That being said its delicious and worth the wait if theres a line. The artisan coffee is fantastic.Updated: Thx for letting me know. You deserve a 5
Nice little place. Good variety of food options. Simple selections of drinks. Kind of edgy atmosphere.
Quick and friendly service. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Had the nitro which had good froth on top.
Enjoyed both sitting in a cafe table outside watching the world go by.
Great alternative to Pike Place.I’m not a foodie or a coffeeie (?), but I thought the coffee was just ok. I had a vanilla latte. My husband had an ok Americo. We both ordered the banana loaf. I thought it was good, my husband thought it was not bananay enough. BUT service was quick and friendly. No masks required. Several spots for outdoor seating.
I was looking around for a good coffee shop to sit at and have a great view etc. I stumbled upon this coffee shop on google. and Immediately after scrolling through the Photos - I had to go.it was 10am in the morning, but this shop was packed and also there is always a lineup to get coffee - they are pretty famous for their iced coffee lattes but i had their Cappuccino and sea salt cookie.. coffee was better of all the coffee shops I tried in and around Seattle downtown. No wonder this place is quite busy at any given time as I was here for a second time the next day. the baristas were quite friendly with a smile and also take their coffee art very seriously. you could tell from the cup how good they are. Will be here definitely next time I am in seattle area. Also i will take my friends next time - as they work in the downtown area as well. I almost forgot to mention - that this place smells absolutely amazing.. could be because of the baked goods but also the aroma of coffee is quite evident.the pour over is famous i believe, seen some robotic machines that does this job.. it was very impressive.
Any time Im in downtown Seattle I get my daily cup of coffee here. Their roasts are delicious. The quaffle is tasty but maybe overrated. Worth trying though.
Possibly the best latte Ive ever had. Perfectly frothed, not bitter. And definitely the best vegetarian breakfast sandwich Ive ever had! Sweetly crusted cheese and a veggie patty on a delicious biscuit!!
A specialty coffee roaster that also serves pastries and tea. Chill and relax atmosphere with friendly staff. Tried their seasonal Spring Fling which is Iced Sparkling Hibiscus Tea with Lime and Mint. Quite refreshing
PSA: all reviews are given 5 stars as I am opposed to ratings that allow users to make judgements about an establishment without reading the details.Recommended by a coffee enthusiast, and was so very glad they did! Opting for this location of the Pike Place spot (not wanting to deal with crowds today), I was immediately impressed with the vibe; dark themed but cheery, friendly and inviting. Not a ton of seating based on how the cage is laid out for social distancing, but I think since this location is tucked out of the way, it appears to be sufficient. A couple of outdoor tables, handful of stools at 2 counters, and a couple of tables make up the seating. My go to coffee is cold brew, so this is the barometer I use to review any coffee house. Anchorhead has both cold brew and nitro; and when there are these 2 options, I always start with traditional cold brew. This moves into the top cold brews I have had in Seattle, along with Herkheimer and Victrola. Very full flavored, with super pleasant tannins and a fabulous cocoa note running through the palette. Really enjoyed this one! Was a very enjoyable experience sipping this in their relaxing cafe. Also enjoyed a savory bacon scone that was warmed and delicious!Staff was very kind and genuine. No line or wait of any kind. Looking forward to trying the nitro and the other Seattle location.
Im not a coffee drinker but I got a chai latte with their lavender coconut caramel syrup and BOY was that amazing.
Arriving at this lovely location has been a huge relief for me. Your high-quality, low-cost service comes highly recommended! Once again, thank you for everything. For a coffee shop, this is exceptional service! One of their workers, Alex, was the one who answered to my questions. I was able to relax because of his friendly and professional demeanor. The best of all!
Got a macchiato, the espresso was smooth and really good. The vegan pumpkin muffins are an absolute treat!
Really amazing coffee! Im not a coffee drinker myself, but my girlfriend got me a cold brew with chocolate milk and it was delicious and smooth to drink. Highly recommend!
Friendly service and great food and drink options. The honey bunches of oats latte was really tasty, but for me the star was the vegetarian soy chorizo and cheddar vegetarian scone - it was beyond flavorful. Definitely one of the best coffee shops we visited during our time in Seattle.
I really enjoyed my coffee. The bacon/cheese biscuit was not very good nor was the bacon and chive scone. They both missed the train to Flavortown. I bought a couple bags of coffee to brew at home and realized when I got home that they are only 10oz which seems on the small side. Meh.
Cool little coffee shop with a delicious lineup of brews. I had the single origin espresso and the nitro cold brew. The single origin had a very deep complex flavour and a nice punch to give you a midday jolt. The nitro cold brew had a very unique nutty flavor which set it apart from others Ive tried.
Good quality coffee, but expensive compared to other local cafes
Staff was so kind and efficient, lots of pastries plus little breakfast muffins to choose from. We had a batch brew and the honey bunches of oats iced latte, both were on point. Lots of space in this high rise corner location, definitely want to visit the others!
I came here bright and early at 7 in the morning and they were in full swing serving the morning coffee crowd of Seattle. service was excellent - the cashier explained the different kinds of coffee and cold brew that they had. I ended up having a cortado in the end - which was very well made but kind of flat in terms of the coffee bean flavour. My friend ordered the croissant waffle thing which was AMAZING.
I stopped by multiple times in June 2021. They had limited indoor seating, but still plenty of space. The employees were professional and friendly. They offered their opinions on my bean purchase and pour over choices, which is always appreciated. Their bar setup is so cool! I am very jealous! They’re using a high end machine built right in Seattle, an automatic tamper, and an automatic pour over machine! I was blown away as I watched them prepare the drinks! Everything was delicious! I had a cortado, 12oz latte, espresso, and a honey bunches of oats latte, along with their Ethiopian and Costa Rica pour overs. The cortado and latte were some of the best I’ve had; balanced, perfect amount of milk texture, and perfect temperature. The espresso I tried was their single origin, which was delicious! I’ve never had such a good medium-light roast espresso so balanced. Typically they are too sour for me to enjoy. The pour overs were top-notch. It must be a dream serving such good pour overs without having to spend the time needed to properly prepare them.Overall, cool atmosphere, friendly employees, and top-tier coffee.
Had a single origin espresso. Taste was super good, quite acid and a bit savoury. Sparkling water is served with the coffee and the shot is poured on a big cup, which surprisingly helps to enhance the espresso flavor by cooling it and allowing more air in contact with the coffee. Unfortunately it was quite watery and lacked body, so thats the reason why not a 5 star my dearest friends.
This coffee shop is a must-visit if youre a coffee connoisseur. At a very fair price, their coffee absolutely satisfies my taste. My stay was made even more memorable by the promptness with which the service was provided. This coffee shop comes highly recommended by anyone I know.
After dropping my fiancé off at work, I spent an hour writing in this coffee shop. The reviews for this place are spot on. I loved the coffee, service and, the wonderful atmosphere. Another thing, there were many professionals meeting here. I found the over all vibe to be happy with their work, judging from the interaction between the different people. I would recommend this place to everyone.
This place is amazing!! Delicious drinks and amazing service.
The food and coffee are so good. Really liked the raspberry scone and the bacon and cheese biscuit!
The honey bunches of cold brew and mint chocolate cold brew drink (i forget the name of it) were the best flavored coffee drinks Ive ever had. Very glad we tried this place on our weekend in the city.
Flavors were amazing, friendly service. Me and my friend loved this place!
Great coffee and pastries! Quick, efficient, friendly staff and cool, cozy atmosphere! Seating is limited because of the pandemic but this is a must stop coffee shop!
The greatest spot for a meeting or a peaceful moment with free wifi! I needed a place to stay because I needed to connect to the internet for a meeting.
Great coffee, great food, lots of vegan/vegetarian options for my husband, who cant have egg. highly recommend the burnt honey syrup in your drink.
Okay mocha (a little too sweet) and not great food options. Our bfast biscuits tasted stale and way too buttery.
A finely made 3rd wave pour-over, however the staff dont really grasp the flavour notes of what they sell. I was disappointed with overpowering sour notes to the bean they assured me had none.
Highly recommended fancy-coffee stop. The pistachio milk matcha latte is very special, and worth a stop just for that (perhaps consider requesting it extra hot). The biscuit sandwich was great, though Id prefer it with an egg. And the waffle was worth ordering (I expected a richer liege waffle-like experience, which this was not, which was both nice as well as a let-down all at the same time). Anyway, great spot
Liked it a lot, there was a line in the morning and it was quite busy but it went quickly.
Staff knows their shizz; great coffee and drink options with quality bites offered, as well; nice seating options and cool music!
Edit: Be sure to specify which size you’d like for your drink if the cashier doesn’t ask. I didn’t notice the first couple of times I ordered because they asked what size I wanted, but on my third visit I was not asked. Turns out an 8 oz drink costs the same as the 16 oz drink so I ended up paying $6 for an 8 oz drink. You can get double the drink for the same price if you wanted. Docking a star because I think they should make that more clear or not forget to ask for size.Original review: Anchorhead is a great spot in terms of drinks/food selection and seating availability. There’s bar seating, large tables that are great if you want to get some work done, as well as seating outside the cafe area towards the restrooms. I ordered the quaffle (croissant waffle), as well as the pistachio matcha latte. Since I stayed for several hours, I ended up ordering an oolong oat milk London fog and I really enjoyed all my drinks and snack. This is a fun spot to visit if you’re looking for some specialty drinks but they of course offer the more traditional cafe menu as well.
Coffee 👌🏼I also tried the biscuit sandwich and it def exceeded my expectations. And staff were all kind and professional!
One of the better coffees outside the market!
One of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle. They roast their own beans so you knows it’s the real deal. The honey bunches of cold brew is to die for. They have a vegan and gluten free muffin you also MUST try. Grab some beans for home and make your own cold brew to wake up to their coffee every morning.
Great coffee, their quaffle is a must have.
Our only choice for coffee during our recent trip to Seattle. We even brought home a bag of their espresso. One more thing, try the pumpkin muffins... You can thank me later.
Best mocha Ive ever had
Wide selection of beans and really good coffee
The staff is great and very plaisant
