This small and hip coffee shop in Ballard is a neighborhood gem. During my visit, Gabriel the barista is really nice and friendly and he made a great cup of latte.Besides coffee, pastry and other beverages, the shop also carries a wide selection of (natural) wines with taste notes on many of them, it looks like a great place to pick up a bottle for any occasions. There is a small but charming indoor seating area at the back of the store and a larger outdoor patio on Ballard Ave.

This place was a favorite of mine when in Ballard. Coffee was excellent made and coffee drinks were delicious and well crafted. Over the years, the quality has dropped. Pastries and coffee beans are still good for purchase to drink and eat at home. The coffee drinks, however, are not that good anymore. Last time I was here, ordered cappuccino. It was 20%coffee and 80% burned foam. I asked to get a new drink and the employee just scoffed at me. Not much of a problem with the employee, people have good and bad days but the coffee drinks quality has not been there.

Totally fantastic and delightful local coffee shop. We flew into Seattle for a meeting not far from Anchored Ship and we were delighted by their friendly staff, excellent service, and quality drinks. This was a particularly interesting occasion because our visit was amidst the start of COVID19 Shelter In Place orders and all food/drink establishments were Take Out only. Thankfully it was a beautiful day to walk the empty streets. Were super appreciative of the fact that Anchored Ship has stayed open despite the current social and economic challenges. I was thrilled to be able to support them and look forward being able to visit them next time were in town for a meeting. Folks like these represent the best of small business America. Keep up the good work!

The barista on 9/6 was a incredibly rude. He stated yelling at us for lining up in front of the door. We were clearly there to work with all of our book bags and one of us spent time scoping out seats to work at. All the while he tells us exactly after weve paid that they limit indoor seating to 5 to 10 minutes.Cant speak about the drinks because we had such a bad taste in our mouth about the experience.

Ive never had coffee like this before. Its not an Americano coffee, its almost like water. So, when I told the owner that the coffee taste was too thin, I only made an impression and didnt reply.

Peculiar coffee shop in the heart of Ballard. The layout is a little clunky as it appears to be an old house converted into a coffee shop. Not much they can do about that, but it still feels clunky. I didnt feel inclined to stay and hang out more than 15 mins. The shop ended up being pretty busy while I was there with a single barista, so the service was a bit slow. I ordered a Mocha and Hot Chocolate and both drinks were decent, but I dont think Id go back given all the options available.

Rude service— the quality of the coffee doesn’t matter after being scolded to step aside followed up with we can’t sit there for more than 5 mins (of course we weren’t told that until after ordering). I would find a nicer more positive coffee shop to go to next time.

It wasn’t really busy when I went and the barista that served me was really nice and informative about their drinks. The coffee was pretty good and wasn’t too sweet or too bitter. I’d come back again if I’m in the area.

Cute, small, personable. Unfortunately during COVID you really cant stay inside (too cramped) but theres covered seating outside. Baristas are charming and the coffee is very tasty, milk was perfectly steamed.Location is really a plus, you can stop in for a coffee and walk to so many local spots from here.

Excellent little coffee corner. Usually pretty good latte making and uses counter culture beans which to my taste is mostly solid third wave coffee. The back room is nice and subdued with tables for working, sitting studying, reading while the hidden little upstairs nook is more couches vibes and chats with friends. When I’m in Ballard I’ll often go here over say Cafe Umbria because the whole place just feels a bit more personable.

First time in a while I have experienced service as rude as I did here. I walked in, made brief eye contact with the barista behind the counter. It was completely dead in there. She looked at me and continued what she was doing - which was complain about her job to her coworker. I stood at the counter while she and her coworker continued to do that for about 30 seconds. Another employee approached the counter and I thought to myself - oh ok maybe shes on break and thats why shes been ignoring me. Nope, he looked me in the eye, took a sip from a water bottle he had under the counter and then walked away. I waited for another couple seconds and walked out. Maybe go somewhere that values costumers. Good coffee isnt hard to find in Seattle.

Lovely little spot for a coffee in Ballard. Staff here are always friendly, and they make good espresso. The snacks are great, too - the Twix bars are soooooo yummy, with a thick layer of caramel and buttery shortbread. Some notes of caution - seating can be difficult to find, due to the quirky layout of the café; and the coffee has a strong licorice flavour, which is not to everyones taste (and can spoil a mocha).
