Came to Ballard Consignment Store to just browse and see if I could find something unique. I was in the area having lunch and this place caught my eye. As I entered, I immediately noticed that there is a plethora of things to look at! What I didnt realize is how big the store is! Its a labyrinth in there! As I moved from room to room, the store just seemed to be getting bigger and bigger. If I had more time I could have easily spent hours in there. Wonder what I could find next time I come around...
Cool and different furniture BUT you can buy ALL of those for cheaper brand new. I was surprised by prices. If Im buying someones used junk, the price better be right. Some of these were more expensive than new.
Very friendly, helpful staff with a blend of good quality older and newer furniture pieces, art, and decor. Drawn in by the giant silver iguana in the window, stayed for the mid-century vintage coolness.
I have bought many a furniture here and recently it was a dining table. Excellent customer service, super friendly people, and most of all they work with you from finding the right piece of furniture to the price. Thomas - the manager is knowledgeable, super friendly and helpful.
Ive been a supporter of Ballard Consignment for a few years and have furnished my office, living room and dining room with their pieces. I really do love the selection and feel that prices are fair. That said - my most recent visit left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I had asked an employee about a set of dining chairs upstairs and it was almost like I was bothering him by doing so. The way he was speaking to me was incredibly condescending. As a customer who plans on spending quite a bit of money, I feel its well within my rights to ask questions about items... At this point I felt uncomfortable and just wanted to get out of the store so I quickly payed and was told that since I was parked out front, someone would be bringing my items out I could load them into my car. I waited outside for ten minutes before another associate came out and said are you waiting or something??. When I answered, he scoffed and said uh yeah, your chairs are right there, indicating inside the store, and then left. I dont require help and am fully capable of loading chairs in the back of my car, but the sarcastic tone made me feel embarrassed as I loaded my purchases, which totaled to more than $600. I still recommend Ballard Consignment to friends and will likely shop there again, but the attitude from some employees is a big turn-off and could use improvement.
A good place to check and pricess are reasonable.
Decent selection considering theres not much else in the area. Overpriced for what they have, but its Seattle so understandable. 3 stars because we called and asked them to hold two dressers, but the person on the phone seemed anxious and confused, and told us to just come in because they were having an issue with their system. When we got there an hour later, theyd sold the dressers.
A great selection of furniture in great shape and great quality - this is not a random antique shop!
Never know what youll find coming here. I check this place out every few months. Its huge and I warn you, different levels and looks like the building used to be different businesses then ballard consignment bought the building and tore down the walls and made a 2nd level a couple times (again, just how it looks inside). They have furniture from different eras and last time I bought an amazing truck! Absolutely love it.
Super cool vintage, retro, antique, modern, mid century, quirky, shabby chic, you name it home furnishing store!! So much fun to roam around the eclectic mix of odds and ends!
Good selection of MCM furniture at decent prices. Im knocking off two stars because we ordered an L-shaped sectional and they delivered one that was the opposite orientation of what we ordered. We let them know that day but they didnt actually have the one that they sold us -- somehow they had over-sold it? Not sure how that happens. Anyway, they did offer to either take it back or give us a $100 refund if we wanted to keep the one that we received -- thats why my review is not lower. But I guess my takeaway is that if I ordered the last piece of a particular item in the future, I wouldnt be super confident in actually receiving it, since their inventory system apparently allows for over-selling 🤷♀️
We, CJ didnt actually go to this establishment we just past the furniture store in a quick hast going an agency to help CJ. However please if you need furniture why dont you check it out.
Be prepared to deal with really rude staff. I accidentally returned a measuring tape to the clean pile and was shouted at by a guy behind the counter Excuse me, read the sign! in a very rude an condescending tone. It was an honest mistake and I didnt deserved to be shamed publicly like that. I will never shop there again.
Love this store..Lots of furniture at reasonable prices have told other people about this place and have been thankful.
This place moves a ton of furniture. If you see something you want, buy it. It will not be there if you think about it
I tried to buy a couch there recently. I was told the couch was in their warehouse, but what that meant was that the couch was actually in their other store, which has at least a days worth of lag in communications. I paid for the couch, and was preparing to have it moved to my place, but they called the next day and told me the couch that Id paid for had been sold to someone else. They gave me a full refund, but its not possible to refund time and disappointment. The lesson: If you cant physically see the item in front of you, youre rolling the dice on whether you actually get it or not.The lesson for Ballard Consignment: Tell your sales associates that its not your warehouse, its a store that has a communications lag, and to tell customers that they may or may not get the item they bought.
A little bit of everything you could need to furnish a place. Quirky and fun. Staff very helpful.
Lovely building and a large and varried selection.
Love this store and the awesome prices!!! I spent 3 hours just looking at all the inventory!!! I bought a beautiful rug and will be back for a new sofa soon!!
Great furniture and everything for your home. Very attentive sales people.
Always interesting to see what theyve got. We just got a great dining room table. And if I needed a golden rhinoceros head they have that too
The staff will always help you get what you need, my company works closely with them and we have found Ballard Consignment to be incredible partners. If you need a very high end look for a fraction of the retail price then check them out!
The guy who answered the phone was incredibly rude to me for no reason. I will not ever shop here. If you want good business you have to at least be a decent person.
I called about an item I saw in the window, if it was still available.. the guy on the phone told me idk you are gonna have to come look yourself.
Really cool shop thats way bigger on the inside than you would think. I was a little disappointed by their clothing selection, its definitely more geared towards furniture and art, but what they have for that is really cool! Its not neccesarily cheap though, I would say the average price I was seeing was around $200 so dont come here expecting to scoop some great coffee table for $50. Cool vintage postcards and patches as well as some rugs and light fixtures. Worth a look just for the design eye candy, but most of the stuff here was out of my budget.
They have a great selection of nice quality furniture. Theyre a deal compared to retail prices, but not Goodwill cheap :). Well still find fun, quirky, random things for a few bucks to impulse buy though.Workers there are super nice and always willing to help and answer questions. Free two-hour holds while youre in store!Check out the website too - theyre pretty good at keeping inventory updated.
Great customer service, willing to work on prices. We have bought a lot of unique statement pieces for our home and are always satisfied.
Huge place, super cool selection
Huge selection. Large variety of furniture. Nice quality overall. If you’re looking for some unique pieces I’d certainly recommend this consignment store.
Really amazing store with lots of great unique selection. got some chairs and a table yeterday and came back today to pick them up.quick and easy process no issues.will most def come back for more stuff!
We called about a couch (awesome leather sofa) on their website that was “in excellent condition”. The salesperson who answered said it was, in fact, “in mint condition”. When we picked it up and put cushions in the cab of the truck I realized that it was a brand new (cheaply made) couch. We literally drove a half mile down the road before we decided to turn around and take it back.Their response : “Once the item leaves the store, there is nothing we can do.” Of course. Here we are, trying to do something good for the environment by buying a recycled piece of furniture from a consignment shop, when in actuality, we are buying another piece of garbage made in Asia.Shame on this store for being deceitful. Shop elsewhere if you are trying to do good for the planet.UPDATE: two years later my (not large) friend plopped down kinda hard and we heard a crack. The frame is broken. Again, I advise you to go elsewhere if you are looking for quality. Also, if you read the responses to any negative review, it will tell you everything you need to know about the owner of this company. Instead of trying to make things right, they attack the customer.
What an excellent gem of a place! This maze of buildings is always worth a walk through, if only for the amusement of the weird but kinda wonderful taste (*or lack thereof) of Seattle eclectic. And sometimes you stumble across that chair you wanted but had not realized it until you saw it...
This is a really cool place to spend an afternoon with someone you love. The place is huge and has something for just about anyone. Even if you dont end up making a purchase, this place is just full of neat things to browse. Additionally, the employees are super helpful and sanitary.
Unique collection of stylish furniture and collectiblesFun shopping trip
One of my favorite places for modern furniture
I absolutely love Ballard Consignment for their expansive assortment of furniture pieces and sweet decor. With a heavy lean into MCM, it is easy to pair items together cohesively. There is an affiliate moving service that aids in transporting those larger items for a reasonable delivery fee. I knock off two stars regrettably for the extremely poor service we received this last visit. I have been a returning customer for over 5 years and have furnished 3 separate spaces with their pieces. But this last visit, the person who was in charge of putting the for sale tags on our selections left a lot to be desired in the customer service realm. He very blunty accosted us for not knowing the precise location of our pieces in the large space and was just flat out rude. This definitely makes me consider not returning despite loving the unique shopping experience.
Big place. lots of stuff.
Huge selection of neat home goods, always something unique to find
Amazing place. Very unique furniture and the layout is so organized. Staff is friendly, but gives you space to explore. Prices are high, but so is the quality
People Do not consign your item with this people. (VICTOR G.) Con Artist. He told my friend that my 2015 high end expensive furniture is dated. And told to my friend if someone will come tomorrow and offer him for my furniture a penny he would take it. My friend asked him, shouldnt he ask us before to take an offer, Victor G answered No, and when we asked if we would be able take our furniture back if he wouldnt sell, he told us in Our case we wouldnt be able to take our furniture back. Because he would be interested to sell our dated furniture. My furniture is Dated, but he would be interested to sell. Few day ago I called to the store and talked to on ed of the store people, and they told me that if my furniture wouldnt sell within few month I would be able to take my furniture without paying anything.
Worth a visit even if youre just into decor and design. I found the curated selection inspiring from a design perspective. Prices are legit and fair. People are also very nice and attentive. Well be back.
Nice collection of mid-century furniture.
Always something good to take home and staff are standing by ready to help!
They have some really great selections and always priced right. Love this place.
A good place to poke around for an hour or so. Some unique items of furniture.
Got a great lamp here.
Nice shop full of quirky items. Lots of interesting stuff at pretty decent prices. It is a fun place to walk through browsing all the different stuff. Multiple floors arranged in fun combinations. Everything from patio furniture to fine art. All the essential furniture you need and a lot you just want.
Great deals on good quality furniture.
This place is rad. So many interesting finds at really reasonable prices. Spend a bit of time wandering, cause there are many hidden gems!
I was told the service was bad before. however, I bought for $4000 of brand new furniture in that shop. Big mistake! When I came back 7 days later to pick up my stuff, the couch were damaged (a 4 inches scratch on one side). I didnt want to pick it up. A very arrogant employee told me literally it is not my problem (what??!!!), and the manager said he remembers the scratch were here when I bought it (no proof of course). Basically, he told me to ... and that if I dont come the pick up the couch, he will sell it again to someone else. Seriously??
This is hands down the best consignment store Ive ever been to. It has a HUGE amount of stuff and a huge variety. Also the items are more in the vintage realm which makes them much more interesting. The buyer is a genius.
Loved this store.
Some of the best second hand furniture in the city
Huge assortment of unique furniture, art, and other housewares. Loved browsing through it all. Will be back when Im ready to snag a few pieces.
It HUGE With Good Quality used and NEW furniture
I love looking here so much! Always something fascinating to find!
Lots of stuff. Many items much more expensive than I would have anticipated for a consignment shop.
Really cool selection. Disappointed in my purchase because I found the EXACT same lamp at Dania for less $$. And then the lamp switch broke within one month. All sales are final at Ballard Consignment. Whereas if I had bought it at Dania I feel I would have more recourse with my broken lamp. So buyer beware.
Love this spot. Great items and very helpful staff. Definitely a most stop.
Limited parking available in diamond lot. Helpful sales staff. There are a lot of unique pieces to meet every decor theme. Large 2 story store. Delivery available through 3rd party service. Prices on the higher side.
Love this place! My living room thanks me every time.
This place has a great location and is fun to walk around getting semi-lost and pretending you are going to buy everything. I only say pretending because usually you end up buying something, but it wasnt the first 8 or 9 things you really wanted. Great products, interesting art work, and not overly outrageous pricing.
Very nice and lots of unique items. But a bit expensive
Great staff. Lots of stuff here to browse.
A fantastic maze of a building with an amazing variety of vintage furniture and art.
Highly recommend Zozis Loft; It has a great selection of furniture at very reasonable prices and Richard, the owner, takes good care of his customers. Even the delivery staff is extremely friendly. You really cant go wrong.
Love this funky vintage and retro furniture store. Lots of inventory! Things you wont find anywhere else. Newly upholstered sofas. Trends in fabric. A must for affordable stylish furniture if you are into home decor that is unique. Love this place! A good place to just browse and get inspiration.
I love this store. Great eclectic selection of artwork and furniture, and a really friendly staff. Also fun to bargain on items.
Absolutely one of the Best stores for the furnishing and adding rare to find nick knacks to your residence.Sales People, Service, and Friendliness of them all is wayyyy above the average.Thank you for being in Ballard. Cheers!
Nice little gem of a store
I could furnish my whole house just by coming in here. A range of furniture from vintage to modern along with all sorts of lamps, accent pieces and assorted interior design. Are they the best prices you can find for every piece? No. But oftentimes youll find unique things at great prices versus online with the added benefit of seeing them in person versus an ad. Stock is constantly being added so you can often find new things every weekend. Makes for a great day of shopping on a Saturday.
This is a cool place to go to to find unique furniture. However the service isnt as unique. Feels like a jack in the box. I have bought a couple of items from here the cheapest being 700. There always super helpful to sell you the stuff but when you go in to pick it up all service is out the window. They might as well ask if you want fries with that. Yesterday the guy made me go move my car closer to the door cause the parking lot was too far ( it is maybe 20 more feet. So instead I had to make a u turn and find a spot in front he was very polite in letting me know this was the policy lol... Like I said I have bought stuff from here and never heard of this policy. Dumb
Wow go there the employees are amazing
Really fun spot for mid century furniture, though it feels a bit odd that the $95 lamp I bought (marked down to $75 to be fair) is only $99 new from Article. They threw in a free lightbulb though so Im still happy.
I visited this place and placed some furniture here for consignment. It was like attending an episode of Antiques Roadshow.
I really love this store and have bought multiple pieces from them, but today I bought an item and when I got home I searched for the original price for the same product new from the original maker. Much to my surprise, Ballard Consignment had it listed for $15 more than the price for the new piece from the original distributor! Its unfortunate to feel like youre getting swindled, and itll certainly make me think twice before buying from them again.
Great selection of gorgeous and original furniture. The employees were pretty rude, though. We do not steal, are not criminals and do no appreciate being treated like we are going to walk off with the cash register.
A good place, with a pretty large and diverse selection. The people there were very nice and also open to bargaining. My partner and I bought two pieces from them, a bookshelf and a media cabinet/console. The whole process including delivery was easy and seamless.
Always a find here!
Ballard consignment far exceeded our expectations. We found loads of furniture we liked at fair prices and we received great customer service from Walter and one other gentleman (didnt catch his name). My husband and I would highly recommend this place!
A great store with a great owner. Literally an American success story. Absolutely 5 Stars!
This place is crazy, surprising, exciting and cool. Its absolutely huge and full of treasures from small knick knacks to beautiful furniture. You can get lost in there just browsing around. Everything there is from different periods. The prices are surprisingly reasonable and even if youre not looking to buy, its definitely worth a visit.
One of the best places to go when you want to outfit your home. Always fun to explore and has a large variety of items. Go check it out, you’ll love it.
If youre the kind of person that enjoys garage sales or thrift stores this place is a wonderland. It just goes on and on. Dressers, chairs, lights, couches, tables, buffets, credenzas, beds, art, weirds stuff. It should be said though that they dont stock junk, everything is in excellent shape and their buyers clearly take pride in their job. They also stock several new items, usually in a selection of colors/finishes/materials. You really can seriously score here if you give it a few visits.Beware the No Returns policy on furniture though. We bought a couch that we thought was leather but it ended up being vinyl. Now we are stuck with it. Caveat emptor - I know, I know.
If you like to bargain with sales people this is a good place to shop. The furniture is cute, but I feel like its slightly over priced. 1 year in and the couch has lost a button. We go there a lot and the sales people are very attentive, borderline pushy, but that seems to have mellowed in the last two visits. They have both new and used furniture, lots of vintage pieces. Its a fun place.
Selection is good, most things strike me as priced 5-10% too high.
Great spot to pick up solid furniture. They will work with you on price sometimes and always seem to provide solid service. Bought couch, chairs, coffee table and a couple other items. Always seems like designers are looking around with clients there, so that can be a good sign.
