Great floors has a wide selection, but DO NOT use them for installation. I hired them to install vinyl plank flooring in our basement and after a miserable experience ended up removing it all and reinstalling it myself. Our concrete floor had some uneven areas so the installer ground it with an angle grinder without any dust control except a sheet of plastic loosely hanging over the stairway. Our entire house from basement to second floor filled with dust. We have been cleaning for months and still have not eradicated it all. Additionally, the contractor cut a 5” gash in the carpet on our steps and completely scratched the handrails. Next the installer spread leveling concrete and proceeded to walk through it leaving footprints, uneven areas and clumps of unmixed concrete to harden and dry. He assured us he could fix it and set about grinding, again filling the house with dust. After laying the floor planks, they were terribly uneven, flexing, bouncing, and creaking when we would walk on them. I lifted a few to find uneven concrete, chunks of debris, and a few pieces of cardboard wedged under the floor. We notified Great Floors and our installer returned, took up the floor and set about grinding again. I spent several hours with a carpenter’s level trying to teach the installer how to locate the high and low points in the floor, something he seemed unfamiliar with, as he did not have a straight edge among his tools. When I returned to work, the installer finished installing the planks. Once again, the floor was uneven with high and low areas and air pockets under the planks. The installer told us the floor would settle and the unevenness would disappear. This obviously did not happen. After paying for the poor quality installation, I had to personally take out all the planks, hire a new contractor to grind off the leveling compound (using a dust collection system), and then reinstall the planks myself.Be advised, Great Floors expects payment in advance of installation. This was a very expensive learning experience. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.
It is true, you go inside the store and all the sales person or every person tbat works tbere avoids eye contact with the customer . The customer is ignored completely. Hard to believe that a business can work this esy.
Wonderful service from Larry Thomas, Great Floors, Seattle. He is knowledgeable about the products AND the installation process, which saved me from numerous down-the-road complications. Thank you, Larry! Highly recommend and will definitely work with him again.
Walked in this morning looking for carpet. I saw 5 people working, only 1 had a customer, who was on their way out. After they left I was the only customer I saw in the store. I was there for about 25 minutes looking at carpets. Not once did anyone look up, offer to help or care that I walked out... Obviously not a place that wants or needs my business.
Great selection and the service is really good. I didn’t have to wait for hours or be ignored like at other local flooring stores. I was told the differences in products without being told what I should buy. Measurements for the space scheduled within a day.
I didnt know exactly what I wanted when I went in, Im pretty clueless on flooring. Sherry and Dan were so personable and knowledgeable. They made me feel like Id known them for yrs and were able to answer every question I had without making me feel like I was taking up their time. Im looking forward to doing business with them and will be telling my friends and family.
Great place for any kind of flooring. Huge choices of wood, vinyl, synthetic carpet, natural fibers, and tile. Roger was very helpful in tracking down a wool carpet sample that wasnt on hand and had to be ordered. All the sales people at the downtown Seattle location are extremely helpful.
Excellent sample inventory. I found exactly what I wanted 3 different times for 3 different rooms. Quick turnaround on carpet orders. Can handle custom orders, such as area rugs designed by me made from carpet material sourced from them! I visited other carpet retailers and found them wanting. Keep coming back to Great Floors.
This store have good stuff. Everything is adorable. We went here to shop for our new home and it was an amazing transaction.
I have been purchasing carpet and tiles from this store for several years and have always received nothing but professional service each and every time without exception. On one occasion there was a product and installation concern and it was corrected without delay at no extra cost.In general, treat people with respect and you will likely receive the same in return - or at least more often. I for one am grateful to Great Floors for the manufacturers they represent and the products they sale and install. Above all, Im grateful for their commitment to their customers and to overall quality at every level.
Brand name flooring showroom and sales. Not for the bargain hunter is my impression.
During an evening event at Safeco field, I couldnt find a parking spot anywhere within 20 min walking distance. I showed up at 7pm for a 7pm event, and would have happily paid $30-$50 just to park anywhere. I drove around for 45 minutes, then just took a chance and parked in the Great Floors parking lot, which had 1 other car in it. As it turned out, I didnt get towed or ticketed. For that, this establishment gets my full support!
Roger Fallihee at Great Floors was phenomenal to work with. He answered my many questions with incredible patience, from what type of flooring would be best in my Craftsman kitchen, to help choosing the color, to what kind of thresholds I wanted. He even tracked down the installer afterwards so I could get a scrap of the flooring for color matching my paint. I had a bid from a smaller flooring company for the same kitchen flooring, marmoleum, they gave me much less personal service time, and they would have charged double what Great Floors is charging me. The installer, Miguel was also fantastic. He was punctual, professional, and friendly. Miguel did a fabulous job on the installation, would be happy to have him back to do installation on any future jobs. I love my new kitchen floor, thank you Roger and Miguel!
Good comunication and customer service. My kitchen floors was done on time and it looks amazing
Scott is incredibly rude and short to people. By far one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, how does a place like great floors employ a person with such a miserable attitude? Do not shop here
Its somewhat difficult to get any customer service in the showroom. But the warehouse staff was great, friendly and helpful.
Their overall review rating speaks for itself. We had floors installed three years ago and when their installation team reset our toilet, they did not replace the wax ring. My husband even suggested that they should and they said it would be fine. This is plumbing 101. It took time, but the damaged surfaced and when this happened their store manager, Rick Johnson, suggested we were LYING. They took zero responsibility and left us with over $2,000 in damages to our home. We regret now the customers we have sent their way over the years and that we did business with them in the first place.
Amazing wierd place, you walk in, no one looks up or talks to you. Very quiet, really wonder what they do there all day...hmmmmmm. Called in and was promised a call back, never came.
Best place
Came in here to check out some laminate floors and as soon as step in my foot at the door—- the lady just screams “Oh my are you having twins!” I am 7mos pregnant and I am tired hearing people saying my belly is big but this lady of this place cant help herself and keep her mouth shut—-wow! that was a nice greeting for a customer who just walk in a business establishment. So unprofessional! I assume shes so bored with her job and couldnt help her mouth shut!
Not good. Showroom samples of products that had been discontinued required extra trips to choose alternatives into an area under heavy construction. Picked out hardwood flooring that was ordered but didnt arrive for 6 weeks. When flooring arrived, the installer had quit great floors. I had to pick up the flooring myself and had to locate a private installer. The carpet for the stairway was installed on time but is not wearing well after only l month. The only bright spot in the whole thing was the salesman Mitch, he went to bat for us. I wouldnt recommend Great Floors.
Terrbile experience. The store manager has made no effort to follow up with any of the issues I have been having with the Karastan wool carpets I installed. It has been over 5 months since my install and I am still having to call to get things done.
Really good impressions of the SODO, Seattle Store. Ive purchased wall-to-wall carpets from them twice: once for basement, including stairs, and that carpets lasted over 20 years. In 2007 I bought some wall-to-wall wool sisal for my 2 home offices. Great Floors did the install on both jobs. At my request they came back a few days after install to stretch the wool sisal tighter. It still looks as good as the day it was installed. Last year I bought a large rug pad from Great Floors to put under a new hand knotted middle eastern rug, which is a bit shy of 9x12. I checked several rug stores and Great Floors offered the best price. When I stopped by to purchase the pad, Scott, the salesman, curteously cut the pad to size, saving me the headache of laying it out and cutting it at home. Given my experiences over the years, I wouldnt hesitate to make other purchases at this store.
Went in trying to match replacement tile, or find something to match/compliment existing tile and granite countertop. I had examples of both and asked non-busy salesperson if they had something that would match up, he pointed me to a row of tiles and said to let him know and hed look it up to see if in stock and price. Was absolutely NO HELP!!! I asked him if there was other selections and he didnt budge from his chair. I walked out! There was 4 salespeople at desks, Only one had a person at their desk, which seemed to be an acquaintance rather than a customer. No One seemed to be interested in Selling Tiles/Flooring, or Providing Customer Service! It Was a wasted drive from Lynnwood, in Rush Hour Traffic!!!
We did business with Great Floors 2 years ago when we purchased vinyl flooring. We had our own installer so our business was just the purchase. Everything was fine. A month ago we ordered carpet for our entire 5 bedroom house. At the time the measurer came out to the house, I showed him the carpet we had chosen and he agreed that it was a good fit. We ordered and paid for the carpet & set up a delivery and install day. Our sales person was a bit pushy, but just thought it was her personality. I placed a checking in call to the sales person 3 days before the install date and no, we cant install that day. After much discussion and calls to the installers, it was decided that they would be able to do the install on the agreed upon date but that the installers would need to stay late to complete the job. It had to be done in one day. The guys were great! They worked hard but the installation was not completed until 1:00 a.m. By then, everyone was exhausted and they hurried away. The bi-fold doors could not be reinstalled as the carpet was too thick. The next day, I realized they had not left any of the remnants and they had punched a hole in the wall of a room where they had not replaced the baseboard. I called the sales person, who said the manager would call me right back. 3 days later I get a call. They were sorry about the hole in the wall and someone would get back to me about fixing it. I never heard another word about it. He said that new carpet frequently impairs the bifold doors. I asked about a referral for someone to install the bi-fold doors and they had no suggestions. We dont do that. Now, why is it that someone could not have warned me that the carpet I had chosen would be too thick under the bi-fold doors? If this is a common occurrence, why does the company not have any suggestions/referrals. Poor, poor business. I will never purchase anything from Great Floors again!! Their customer service is so poor once they get their money.
Stay Away from this Great Floors, especially Scott. I ordered 5 pieces of interconnecting mosaic tile from them at $22 each, and when I went to pick them up, I opened the box to make sure everything was in good condition. Sure enough, one of the 3 inch tiles was cracked in half. The will call clerk wrote on my carbon copy pick up receipt that one of the tiles was broken and I took the box home.I called later that week to get a refund or a discount on the broken tile, and Scott told me I had to bring the tile all the way back in to the store, even though their own employee wrote on the pick-up receipt that it was broken! He was also extremeley rude, like it was my fault, or like I was lying. All I wanted was to not have to pay full price for broken material!I HIGHLY recommend staying away from this place, especially a guy named Scott to avoid being treated this way.ADDING A FOLLOW-UPAfter sending a similar note to the manager, they promptly called me to refund my money on the broken tile and they apologized, acknowledging that Scott should not have asked me to drive all the way back to the store. He redeemed himself somewhat, but I still will likely avoid this store in the future.
Absolutely! I love this store, which probably explains why Ive been working with them for 17 years.
Left the job a mess, did not clean up at all. caret scraps, fuzz, metal parts. not like they just did not vacuum, but left big mess
Disappointing experience. Needed to redo the floor in a bedroom. Guess the job wasn’t worth their time or I wasn’t attractive enough. Could not get one single person to speak to me. Very disappointing.
Great serviceJob done as scheduledVery prompt and courteous.
People are crazy on here, showroom is fine, staff are ok, do your HW. And for the woman before me, the cheaper the carpet, the more it sheds after first install, dont be a cheapass.
I do NOT recommend Great Floors. Go to Floor Trader of Tacoma instead. They are cheaper and just as good if not better. I used Great Floors for carpet in 2013 and it has been ok. I was most unhappy about the fact that I had to clean up so many strands of loose carpet after they installed. They did NOT vacuum AT ALL. I paid $1500, the least they could have done was clean up after themselves. Im not talking about a few handfuls here, it was like a tsunami of carpet strands. So, I didnt plan on using them again but after I went to Floor Trader, they did not have the same color match as the carpet I got from Great Floors. I NEEDED the same flooring to match because was having stairs done next to previous carpet they installed. So, I hired them to do stairs and bedroom. I paid a total of $1400 and AGAIN had to spend a lot of time cleaning up their mess!! The guy said his vacuum wasnt working. Uh-Huh.I also paid an extra $100 for moving of furniture: king size bed, dresser with mirror, two night stands. Well, they didnt bother putting ANY of it back correctly! The dresser isnt in the same place or next to the wall like it should be and it is too heavy for me to move. Same with the bed. There isnt even room for both night stands now like there was before. And the bed is way too big and heavy for me to move.So here I am writing this review hoping to spare someone from having to deal with the same issues I have.
Great selection, still deciding on color.
Great place to get new flooring and tile!!
I have video evidence of one of your drivers recklessly speeding in heavy traffic on the I-5.
Nice place
Odd place for a floor store, Like You get done with a Ms game, your exhausted, drunk, and you say, MAN I NEED NEW FLOORS REALLY BAD. BAM, here you go.
Good
