Stopped by to get picnic provisions and ended up ordering a fried chicken dinner, sweet potato fries, a mini cake, and petit fours. The prices were fair for the food we purchased though I could not say the same for the quality. The chicken was dry and tough. The sides werent any better (roasted carrots and tomato rice). Maybe it was because it was ordered early evening when the food had sat for many hours? In any case, thought the desserts would be excellent and save the picnic but the cake and petit fours were also a disappointment.Didnt experience any lines at checkout, parking was easy, and the store is small but well stocked. Will try again next time we visit Discovery Park.
Fun market with lots of options. I was expecting higher prices, so I was pleasantly surprised to see fair ones. The deli area was awesome. They have great allergy friendly selections. The staff were all helpful, however I watched a supervisor berate an elderly woman whose mask had fallen below her nose. Quite the power trip, and I was rather put off by that.
Good price and good quality I definitely will come here again👍 highly recommended👍 Wagyu and German sausage👍
After living in Magnolia for almost a year I finally find out theres a Metropolitan Market 2.5 minutes from my place??Not the biggest or shinier Metropolitan Market around, but has everything you want there. Lots of gourmet prepped foods, food bars, fantastic selection of healthy foods, interesting sauces, exotic mixers and bitters, great cuts of meat.... it really the perfect grocery store. Just the best of everything. And made my grocery shopping fun! I was like a kid on their first trip to Disneyland.
This has to be the slowest paced grocery store I have ever seen. No one begging and lines all the way to the back of the aisles. And no one apologizing for the wait or doing anything to help
Been here about 80 times the last few months. I only come here for specialty items like certain prepared foods because other items are overpriced when you can get the same ones at Fred Meyer. I do only buy organic meat so this is a great place for that. However, Ive encountered more rude customer service than friendly ones. Ive been to all 3 met markets in Seattle and this one has the most snarky, snappy employees. You ask one question and they treat you as if youre such a burden. Now when I go in, Im almost scared to ask a question or for help because God forbid Im SUCH a burden. A bit surprising how their customer service is less than average considering that this market is in a relatively upscale neighborhood.
I like this market and frequent there every day as I live right next door, however, for awhile now there have been teenagers doing a fundraiser for their basketball team out front who persistently ask or heckle rather (literally yell and scream from across the street) begging for donations. They do this on the way in. And out. Every. Single. Day. Its overwhelming as times are hard and as Ive already donated to them, but yet they still ask every chance they possibly get.
Please please consider adopting self checkout machines. It takes way too long to check out here
Way overpriced and not really any options that make the money worth it, although their sandwiches are decent. Being a smaller grocery store they’re able to keep busy in an area that’s not densely populated, but it means they’re missing a few items you’d find at larger groceries like good canned wild alaskan salmon. It makes sense they’re small and compact though, and also, given how expensive it is to live in Magnolia, it makes sense they’re sort of upscale (although again not higher quality than like Whole Foods or PCC which are cheaper).
I called the floral department to place a phone order for a bereavement. I can’t remember the name of the man on the other side of the line but they made me the most beautiful arrangement of white roses JUST as I had requested and it was exquisite. Thank you for being in the neighborhood and providing such excellent service.
I love this place. Lots of healthy, organic, and local options for groceries. Produce is fresh and competitively priced. The soup and salad bar is fantastic.
Selection: Great, and mostly localPrices: High, but qualityCustomer Service: Poor. LOTS of profiling. There are 2 employees specifically that are VERY unfriendly and are not welcoming. In all my years in the service industry, I Have never treated a customer like they have - and if I did, I would have been written up or fired. I feel bad for their coworkers that see this behavior & cant do anything about it. I dont recommend anyone shop here that doesnt fit in in most environments like this. Read the other reviews, they are not lying or exaggerating.
Blessed to have such an amazing store in my neighborhood. Not the cheapest, or even second cheapest place to shop but such a well run place. Amazing produce, superb staff, insane craft beer selection.
My absolute favorite thing about Met Market is the prime rib dinner or sandwich. This location, however, has failed me everytime Ive ordered it... the quantity is actually pretty large, but the meat is tough as sinew and pretty much brown. Sometimes you just get unlucky and get the end of the roast, I get that! Except in this case, the piece I got just shouldnt have been served it was so long gone. There was another large piece of roast in the tray and maybe I should have specifically asked for that instead. Usually its great, but this really disappointed me and I thought Id share.
I have loved this store since I moved to the neighborhood over a year ago....I knew things would change with all the health and safety rules in place to keep everyone safe, however I have noticed that at this location....those rules dont apply to the obvs white, wealthy customers....I will not be coming back...my health is just as important as Richie rich over here. Please stop very obviously enforcing the rules with specific customers...we see you.
Quality of a small Wegmans. You cant get any better than this grocery store/market, though you can certainly find cheaper. Great employees, great atmosphere, great selection.
I liked previously the market, the prices are above the average, but its local and convenient, and the place had very good customer service. But recently customer service got much worse. My wife had bad experience communicating to the stuff few weeks ago, but we thought might be they had a bad day. But today Ive got rude comments from the employee on where I put my bikes, while bike rack was blocked by a tent
Really really nice supermarket! The produce, deli, and food is of top quality and mostly/all organic. That being said, it is expensive!A great perk is there is a kitchen supplies section. Therefore this is a very convenient store and the location you can’t beat!
Great staff, fresh produce and excellent safety precautions.
Disorganized and slow lines. Worst one ive been to. UNPROFESSIONAL
The employees there are very discriminated towards me. One kept coming up to me and harrasing me about the way I was waring my face mask. I asked to speak to a manager who was no better. When I mention to him that I would much appreciate it if his employee would leave me alone that under my situation Im doing my best and all of his employees in the meat department are not waring masks. He got hostile and wanted to throw me out.
You cant get any better than this grocery store/market, though you can certainly find cheaper. Great employees, great atmosphere, great selection.
I’ve been in this place a few times and I loved it.I work in military base and I pass by usually late night for a drink ; even though the deli/cafeteria is closed but man these guys are so respectful, no matter what ; they always get me a hot drink and I’m on my way back to work right away. The place is Very clean, very well-stack, beautiful store, high quality food, great service, staff is amazing, the manager “Lionel“ if I’m not wrong about the name, he is super sweet and extremely friendly, He personally takes care of my business every single time I’m in here even though he is always busy.Whole bunch of beautiful people in this store that treat me like they have known me for years.I Will definitely be going back.
Yes, some of the prices are high. Sometimes ridiculous. But, they have great produce, very tasty ready made food from their kitchens and well curated wine deals. They also have very tasty cakes so we often use them for birthday parties and impromptu celebrations. They also have their own Greek pita which is addictively delicious. Service is always friendly and helpful as well, we really appreciate that!
Very fresh meats, vegetables and seafood. Very organized grocery store. Also nice kitchen gadgets, tea towels, some pots/pans, dishes, cookbooks etc. Extensive meat dept, great selection. Nice selection of all occasion cards too. Also the floral dept is very accommodating.
Ok I was just there, left in tears. This social distancing is not working at this store, too many people, too close to everyone, no carts/baskets. So poorly set up during this strange time. Staying away for a while, usually go here because of produce, which I was not going to buy after seeing someone picking up and setting back down grapefruit. Not sure what the store will do to encourage not so many people at once in the store then handling of the grapefruit, apples oranges etc after coughing . Yuck.
Love the Met, but not a place to buy staples. Pricey, but the quality and selection of unusual items are worth it. Checkers are cheerful and helpful. Clean and well-lit, without being blinding and antiseptic.
Its my neighborhood market close to my home. I love it. Great selection on produce especially organic produce, really excellent hot bar and salad bar- its hard not to go here everyday for lunch. The Cookie is to die for and they have some other tasty treats- the gelato is good but on occasion there is someone that helps you and seems to skimp on the portion size- making it seem pricey for barely a single scoop. Can also be pricey on select items but when they have a sale on something its hard to beat. Overall love it!
Blessed to have such an amazing store in my neighborhood. Not the cheapest, or even second cheapest place to shop but such a well run place. Amazing produce, superb staff, insane craft beer selection.
This place has so many flowers, poor and very good price. They have other fresh products like cheese for good prices. Well recommend .
This is my fav Finer Food Grocery/boutique-ish/hot food bar in Seattle, hands down. Very unsuspecting exterior facade, but inside, you can have ready to eat prime rib roast, to fresh in house made, feta kale dip, to hard to find kitchen gadgets, and local artisan delectable goodies!
The best market in town - amazing soups, produce, fish. My only complaint is it is always cold in there; on a hot summer day I cant get out fast enough
Some of the best meat in town, the prices are fair and the service is fast.
The food, selection and quality are unbelievable. Yes its expensive but its a value considering the level of quality. That being said the employees often seem very snobby, condescending and suspicious if you dont look remotely well to do. Well so what if I am not well to do, I still enjoy the finer foods in life when I can and my money is the same so get over yourselves.
I had a chance to stop by the store today, I was looking for some flowers. Peonies to be exact. I could not find them, so I turned to an employee for help. Anne was Very helpful and very polite. She knew everything I needed about flowers I was looking for, and told me where to find them. It’s a very clean and organized store.
Metro Market in Magnolia has just begun to stock Wilcox Organic Pasture Raised Eggs. Pasture Raised are the only ethical eggs to purchase (and have the greatest nutrition value). As long as Metro continues to stock these eggs I will purchase ALL my groceries there. Great job Metro Market for making such a wise and ethical decision to stock these eggs!
Be careful of what you eat from here. Me and a friend had lunch from here 2 separate days. He had a roast beef sandwich and I ate food from the hot deli. We both got food poisoning.
Most amazing little gourmet grocery store in Seattle if not all of Washington. Love it so so much! Great staff and food.
I went buy with my family and they keep looking at you like you are robbers and they are also pretty pricy
Every time I have visited this Metropolitan location I have been impressed by the helpful and cheery demeanor of the staff. They have a great assortment of produce, dry goods, hot & cold to-go items, bakery, deli, and many items you would commonly find in a cooking store. This store is on the pricier side compared to other markets (Like QFC) the quality of what you get here justifies the price.
Excellent produce, a wide variety of fine cheeses, great deli, excellent bakery. The meat and seafood section is adequate. Prices are on the high side. Still, a very good high-end grocery.
Clean and generally well stocked grocery store. Prices are on the higher side, but periodic specials give good reason to visit. Items are usually of high quality but you pay for it.
Great Neighborhood Market. Excellent selection, service and location. Big market convenience in a friendly neighborhood market environment.
Poor selection of basic food (like bread) and very expensive.Three times in just over a month or so I wanted to buy bread and they had only the junk kind (those full of sugar). Seriously?I understand they can be kept on the shelves for weeks and thats why they are stocking those (no concern for peoples health I guess), but really, not even one type of real bread (no sugar!!). I left feedback with the store manager. Obviously they dont care since they didnt take any measures. To top it off, this Wednesday my wife bought the Sliced Columbia $6.79 bread only to discover home that it was stale. I really took it back (since I needed to get a fresh bread anyway). The store employee was not rude, but didnt really seem to care and didnt really say a sorry, ... . Seriously? They didnt have any other type of no-sugar bread. She also told me that they dont get fresh bread every day. They get it every couple of days. Ive asked, is that each 2 days. She said, ahh, each couple of days, it really depends. So that explains it.$6.79 for a bread! and they may get it only twice per week. If you are lucky you wont find bread, if you are unlucky youll pay a lot for a bread that you will find ready to throw away.Yeah, the store looks nice. But thats not helping!Very, very disappointing!
Great variety, setup and quality. Service is outstanding.
The expansion of the store is great. I would like to see more selection in the produce section. One gripe is management always seems to have discussions with staff/vendors right in the middle of walkways and aisles. Then they dont acknowledge customers, and sometimes one gets a feeling that, you as a customer, are inconveniencing them by shopping where they are conversing.
This store has a great selection and high quality meat and produce. Unfortunately its also expensive. I dont mind paying extra for high quality produce, but just about everything in this store is overpriced.
It is a nice and quiet and very quaint place to shop. My 1st time there + Im very happy I experienced it.
HORRIBLE. I had a bad cold, looked up their hours, arrived only to be greeted by bouncers blocking the doors saying they decided to close early that day despite later online hours being posted. They claimed it was due to needing time get ready to close...?! Post your actual hours. Im never coming back. Super unprofessional; great way to lose customers to all the stores that honor their actual business hours, like Whole Foods.
So many fun things to eat. great kitchen wares!
Beautifully maintained store. Lots of unique items to choose from..glad it close to my home
The prices are so much better than another restaurant in the area, meats and the wines are delicious
Love the little toddler carts, great place to shop. Sushi is always fresh and delicious.
The customer service here is excellent. Who knew that would make a grocery store so much better?
Fantastic Breakfast, Lunch, Salad and Poke self-serve, $by the pound buffet in a very sleepy part of north magnolia
Good selection. They stock local foods, so this place is a good way to support local businesses. Food bar is a little expensive, but tasty.
Great selection, but the cashier and bag lady were rude.
To be honest, I like this place, but the selection is limited and at a higher price point than it needs to be.
Very disappointing experience. Very tall, bald employee was extraordinarily rude. Attempted to use the bathroom wherein an employee said, in a very snide tone, were cleaning and then slammed the door shut add I was asking how long of a wait it would be. Definitely just shopping at QFC from now on.
Good quality produce, prepared meals
Best food ever. Makes me so happy. 😄😄😄
They have very high-end quality products!
Friendly staff, great fresh produce and fish selections. Pricey but worth it!
5 for veggies being among the freshest, friendly staff, and such a diverse selectionWine steward is knowledgeable, buy much of my vino here, should see the selection & pricing is super right onThese stores are priced bit high at times yesUpdate Jan, 2020Veggies freshness have been hit and miss a bit, wow factor, love the varying wines offered, just scooped up last of this willamette wineries 2015 pinot noir, what a glorious find, 23$;price point on sale and the best right out of the bottle yet, really, estate bottled, geez
Amazing store! Hot deli, fresh salad bar, a mouth-watering Poke (salmon sashimi, crab & shrimp louis salad, ceviche, octopus salad, rice, etc.) bar, great produce, harder to find upscale food items and chocolate that appeal to an epicurian taste. Just wonderful. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Got some cheese and the best cookie ever made!
I love it. Fresh meat, fish and bakery!
The soup and salad bar is great.
Great spot to get good wholesome healthy food
Its our local grocery store. Very pricey but the service is terrific.
Very high quality but you certainly pay for it
Just close already, you cannot feed me anymore
Lots of great healthy options and love the cookies!!
Good quality but pricey. The poke bar is fantastic!
A little pricey but GREAT selection of local coffees! They have a lot of things I cant seem to find at generic stores, like rhubarb jams and other goods.
Beautiful produce....really clean and well stocked. Friendly !!
Great selection of wines and good variety of organic vegetables.
Nice selection of organic and high end groceries.
Fantastic! Their pastries and icecreams are amazing.
