We just moved to the Seattle area and found Better Meat in a Google search. Ordered a prime rib roast for Christmas Eve dinner on the phone. Very helpful and offered to remove bones, truss and preseason. When I got there to pick up, there were butchers in their coats out front with a few people waiting. One of them asked for my name, I gave my last name (very unique) and he looked at me and said, “Oh yeah! Firstname, I did it this morning”. He only took a few minutes, but by then we had organized the building line down the block. I tapped my credit card to their new, non contact charge machine and was on my way. So very pleased! The roast was wrapped in paper, then sealed in plastic, then in butcher paper. The marbling of fat was excellent. Using the 500 F for 25 minutes and hold 2 hours method, the roast was perfect. I wish I could post the picture! Our house pod was in a food coma for the rest of the evening. I can’t wait to break out my Traeger pellet smoker and order a brisket from them!

They sell picanha (popular in Brazil)! Made our day. Very friendly staff and they take preorders by phone to make pickup easy and quick during the quarantine. Meat has been good and for a good price too. Glad we stumbled upon this place in our neighbourhood!

Have only been in twice now. I never want to buy meat anywhere else again. The folks here are friendly, extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the prices are fair.

Love this place. I go mainly to get raw food for my dog, and I pay 60% of the cost I would at a pet store for higher quality meat. I usually end up picking something up for myself and it is always great. Friendly service, and they are always happy to recommend a cut of meat and a great way to cook it. I just wish they were open longer hours!

I head here ~2 times a month to get steaks. Super friendly people, amazing cuts of meat, comparable pricing that is usually the same or slightly less than grocery and market stores but the quality of the meat is phenomenal. I tell everyone about this place, it is simply amazing!

This is a great butcher shop! They have a list up front, keep everything in the back, and treat you like close family like a traditional shop, so know what you want or at least know how to describe it. The meats & bones here are exceptional quality and very cost-effective.

I went in looking for soup bones because I figured they would be a bit higher quality then Fred Meyer. I expressed to the kid working that I needed soup bones for stock and he said yes and promptly went to fill a bag of stock bones or so I thought. While he was retrieving the bones I had a conversation about how I get lamb shoulder for good prices and other small talk quickly paid and was off. When I got home I realized I had paid $23 and some change for very clean bones that looked like they were cut and prepared for the marrow? Wow I could have got more Joint, Meaty, Soup bones from Safeway for about $5 and there would be more weight and flavor since it is for soup. Great place but something isnt working out here. Too bad too because good suet, bones, lamb is needed in this hood but not for the crazy prices these people charge.. Again very nice people but bad run business.

I may be biased here; since I went to kindergarten (around the corner) with the son of the guy who started the place. My friend now works there, as I ALWAYS knew he would, along with 2 other guys that have known me forever. They have been supplying restaurants, bars, and fishing boats (some of them VERY famous) for decades with the best meat around. The bias is well founded, and VERY contagious though! Everyone I send there, WILL return, guaranteed! Go there, youll be back too!
