So much better than Home Depot! Theyve always had what I needed. Their ticket system ensures everyone gets help and things flow smoothly. At Home Depot Id have to chase down an associate who begrudgingly would try to help me.

I placed 2 orders and asked to combine the delivery to one address and I was told that I would have to pay two delivery fees. After getting frustrated with the sales rep Kim she spoke to the manager and they said they could accommodate as long as I would take delivery at the same time. I forgot to ask about an eta on the decking boards I ordered so I e mailed Kim to find out an eta her response was i don’t have a estimated arrival date. How can I go back to a client an say oh by the way I have no idea when I can finish your deck. Dunn lumber really needs to work on training there staff how to provide simple customer service especially when they are 25% more expensive then the competitors price for the same product. The only reason I went with them is because the overall price was cheaper delivered because I could not haul 20 ft boards.

Excellent customer service. Kimberly was so patient and took my order and helped me complete my project order even though I am just a home owner & really didnt know what I was doing. I would totally come back again.

I dont often review hardware stores, but when I do I drink a diet coke from the machine in the front entrance... Haha. Came here for a little project that required some lumber and got exactly what I needed and they made the straight cuts I needed to fit the project that I am working on. Mallory was helpful figuring out what was the best fit for my wallet. Also, thanks to the tall guy with glasses in the warehouse that pointed me in the direction I needed to go. Thanks!

Great dimensional lumber that you dont have to pick through for straight boards. Friendly staff that are always willing to help. Dunn has been my go-to for the last 6 years while renovating my house.

Have loved this place since 1975, continue to use whenever I can. On Latona. 5 star, easy. But......The web-based catalog was great 15 years ago but technology and all of us have moved on. Dunn’s has not. Why is this? It is now more than an irritation to be tolerated. It aggressively pushes one away...no capacity to compare, no details, often no image....Maybe works for those who don’t use it?The folks at the counters are friendly, efficient, very knowledgeable....that’s exactly how the website should be behaving too!

It was my first time purchasing from Dunn, and I knew you speak with an associate at the counter to order wood, but didnt expect them to help me find every item on the list. They walked me to every product and helped me compare options. One of my boards was cut slightly too long, but other than that it was a seamless experience. Ill definitely be coming here again

Lately, the last 5 years, I was going to the big box stores since I moved to Seattle. It has been a mistake to spend my time at these stores. They always claim that they will help you cut the wood that you buy but they always have saws out of order because of being understaffed. Dunn lumber was extremely helpful and very nice. They are expert at being able to cut wood properly. Saving you lots of time once you get home to put your project together.

Dunn Lumber has been by far the best dealer since my childhood. I have literally been shopping there for almost 45 years.Being a high end Residential Remodel Master Craftsman, I wont get my lumber anywhere else. Its Dunn or get someone else to build it for you.

For as busy as they are they get you in and out in a timely manner! Plus they are well stocked and versed on material.

I wish I could give Dunn Lumber and sales associate Frank Starr more than 5 stars!!! Frank has been so incredibly helpful with our backyard remodel and has gone above and beyond to accommodate our requests and make sure we get what we need on time. He explained all of our options in detail, gave us samples of decking to take home, gave us detailed cost estimates and was patient with no pressure when it took us longer than expected to order. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic Dunn has remained open and offered their $40 delivery, which also is super fast for in stock lumber/decking - it only took 2 days to arrive!! Not to mention Nellie, who was driving the delivery truck - she was so nice, arrived right on time and took extra precautions to make sure our large decking delivery did not damage our lawn. I have been so impressed with Dunn Lumber in general, but especially during this trying time of the pandemic when it’s easy to fall apart or lose sight of customer service. I can’t recommend them enough!

Great store. Similar prices to big box stores, but the people actually know their stuff and are very helpful. So skip the hassle of those other frustrating guys and go to Dunn.

Great dudes, good wood, good prices, local, and their delivery is only $40 locally. Thats hot stuff, I love Dunn. Been buying wood here for well over a decade at this point. Ive gotten lumber from them a couple times and had it crack before I got to use it, they replaced it no questions asked. Also had to return some boards it turned out I didnt need, and apparently anything thats in a sellable length, theyll take back and give you your money back.

Small location, if it is nearby when you need something it will do in a pinch. Then you dont have to drive out of your way to the larger retailers on the north or south ends if town. Plenty of staff that are friendly and courteous. Take a number to get help at the counter and navigate through the premises. Must have ticket printed out and items paid for if the things that you want are located in the yard or warehouse portion of the building.

I walked into the Latona Dunn Lumber location with a rough idea of what I wanted and walked out with exactly what I needed. The staff helped me pick out lumber to build my own stair risers, and get some finished stair treads. I had the measurements of the stair space and height, and the sales rep helped draw out exactly how it should look and should be supported.When they went to pick out my lumber, they made sure I was happy with the quality and that it would meet my needs. Whether you know exactly what you want or not, I know where to go to get it, Dunn Lumber.

Awesome service. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked what I needed help with. I was given multiple options on everything I needed, and all of them at a reasonable price.

Its a convenient local lumber store. But you can expect to pay 10-25+% more than if you choose a large provider for lumber. I use them when convenience outweighs cost.

Great location, great full service. I am in no way a handy-woman. Its just not my thing. However, living in an older house in Seattle there are some things that youd rather try to fix yourself rather than bother the landlord. Any time I have a little fix-it question I bring it to Dunn Lumbar and they have never let me down. I give them my problem and my rather limited knowledge and they go though it step by step while helping me get the right equipment the most cost-effective way. This is of course just small little things. Im not trying to build a deck. Still, I keep coming back because they keep fitting my needs and never make me feel bad for my clearly city-girl understanding of do-it-yourself projects.

Great old school contractor supplier. Lumber lumber and more lumber. They have all kinds of molding, shiplap, ect. that you cant find at the orange box. Cheap or free delivery on large orders. Not sure how the experience for homeowners and amateurs would be here.

Even though the commercials are annoying, the store is nice and the employees friendly. The store is small, so dont expect to find everything Home Depot will. They also have coffee and tea for customers, which is cool.

Needed an extra shelf for some cabinets (standard white melamine). They cut the 8 board to size and I was out in about 15-20 minutes.Note: if you need specific color/wood matching, you may want to visit an actual cabinetry store; we had some oak shelves in a different part of the house that they couldnt match.

People here were very helpful and very kind while I was in the store.One occurrence I was a little bothered by was that someone called me a cutesy name (sweetheart or darling etc.), when I called to ask some questions. I do not mean to be over-sensitive but it isn’t appropriate.

As a general contractor my team relies on Dunn Lumber for great selection of the general lumber and associated needs for remodeling projects. They also seem to have lots of the little things you didnt know you needed. They continue to evolve and stay on top of what is needed to serve our needs. Staff are typically quite knowledgeable.

Really helpful and friendly folks- I had to cut a door threshold and I was in and out in literally less than a minute. If youre free the surrounding area and need wood work done- i suggest giving them a look at.

Every bit of lumber you could want, lots of dirt work tools and pipe, good selection of plumbing, electrical and landscape hardware. Not much on fasteners, but thats what Steinway Stoneway HW is for.

This is the third time Ive tried writing reviews for this Dunn Lumber over the years, each time I give it 5 stars but somehow my reviews keep getting deleted by Google & Yelp; I love buying wood & composite decking here for my small Deck & Fence business, much better quality than all the other local lumber stores! I send all my Sub Contractors to Dunn Lumber and do not allow them to shop at any other competitor lumber stores simply because the selection, quality, and customer service are just awesome here. Byron has helped me and my sub contractors with at least 20+ high end composite deck orders and always manages to deliver my Sub Contractors and Clients excellent cedar, Azek, and Timbertech countless times, consistently!! I can not tell you how thankful I am with words, a truly warm and personable customer service that you dont find at competitor box stores.

I live in Wallingford, and have been going to this lumber yard for years, a couple of decades. I began when I knew very little about lumber and or product, but, very quickly with an older house I was shown various options and various products, as well as hardware, tools, fasteners of every imaginable kind. There are so many items, but there are also known professional builder, and code standards. This lumber yard is much more than just lumber. From insulation to windows, siding, general lumber, decking product....you name it, and not to mention management and delivery to your personal job or your own house, they have it all, and they do it all. Also, they will help you proactively, you will not have to go looking for someone. On your way in, next to the cash register, they have good strong coffee too. Leza Yamzi

I was rebuilding a fence with my boss this week, I hadnt had much luck in the past with DL(warped lumber, Shady employess) but he had a account here, While here i noticed the prices on the posts and boads had sure risen since 2 years ago and the selection wasnt very good and we had to load it ourselves. My boss did purchase some of the board but not posts(Warped). Personally speaking BMC west seems to offer a little better product and service, the prices are a little bit of moot point given quailty. But thats just me.
