AMAZING! A home thrift shop on steroids! Great for anyone who just moved and looking for some inexpensive yet high-quality home furniture, or anyone looking to spruce up their home without spending thousands of dollars.Staff is incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgeable.I purchased 2 bar stools from a local restaurant ($25 each) and re-hemmed the cushions with a new fabric. I also bought a solid wood desk top ($100), refinished it, and paired it with some ikea drawers.
I wish I discovered this sooner, it wasn’t until I was at Trader Joe’s nearby that the cashier informed to look there after I was telling him I wanted to make some coffee tables. All the furniture in there is organized, clean, unique, modern and put together. You don’t know what you have til it’s gone, I moved to NYC and went to Big Reuse in Brooklyn. Everything was basically broken (couldn’t open doors, cabinet shelves were broken) basically junk and overpriced at that.I found this 4 ft cedar round, solid $50 (a steal)at Ballard reuse and made this coffee table. The live edge planks at the nyc reuse were $50+ for a skinny slab (rip off). Not to mention they are responsive on Instagram on their stories that they post items and then you can pick them up. Ballard reuse I miss you dearly
I love coming here to find things for my 1928 craftsman house. They do an excellent job of posting new cool stuff on their Instagram stories. I’d really love if their online inventory was actually complete.
Fun place to poke around and find what we need for our home. This trip, I found one or two floor air return cover sizes I needed. I love buying secondhand so much, and am grateful for the people here for sorting, organizing and selling goods at appropriate prices. We are lucky to have this store in our area.
Always something to discover, we have remodeled two houses with good stuff from here.
You have to dig around to find somethings worth wild but thats part of the fun.
Really cool finds and LOTS of them. Kind of goofy Covid rules right now. You give your name at check-in and have 30 minutes to shop. It would make more sense to just do a temperature check and let people shop as long as theyd like, IMO. Kinda gives this get out a here impression.
They have a variety of different reusable and recycled building materials, from Vintage to Modern with not just Outside or Structural items. But also, with a lot of Interior and inside decor to style up your house. We come up here from Federal Way, about 2 or 3 times a month or two as they away have something New or different that catches our eyes.I find it one of the best Reusable and Recycling building materials stores that we like to shop. Will add pics later, as we already left the store.
I didnt get it. Items are highly over priced. I literally found a Level I bought at dollar store, here for $5. I found an old chair for $75, while I am sure you can find the new one at target for the same price. Im confused. Do ppl in Seattle just pay any price you ask?
Shop here first for any needed household items. The vast array of items includes lighting, bathroom fixtures, major appliances, outdoor furniture, lumber, doors, windows, etc. You get the picture. They have everything. Thanks!
A magical place where used (& brand new) building items go to shine & get another chance at life. I got a set of beautiful doors, one unique Dutch door too. I wanted to buy everything in the store. Friendly staff & unique items. Definitely recommend.
Well organized collection of eclectic housewares.
Many good deals and interesting stuff
It is an interesting place to visit, because I never know what I will find, either inside the sales area, or outside in the FREE spot!!!!!!!
So much cool stuff, and the employees are so helpful! 👍🏻 Theyre on a limited entry basis, but their system seemed to work well, I didnt wait at all. The organization system seemed to work well, but I noticed that the doors could have been better sorted to make the right widths and heights easier to find and pick out. There was a big range of conditions they have available, which seems perfect to suit a wide range of needs. The chandelier I got is absolutely perfect, and was so cheap compared to everything else I had found. Epic selection, will be back again. 🎀
If you need something for your home, look here first. If theres something that you dont need for your home, look here first.
My favorite of the 3 well known reuse places in Seattle. There are still some gems to be had. Doing a good job with covid limitations.
Longtime custie. theyve enriched scores of my various projects.
These guys have stuff you dont even know you need yet. Very helpful staff. Prices were very good as well.It will take more than one visit to take it all in...
The people there are super cool, I go there frequently and always fun what Im not looking for Im addicted to this place an being contractor and an artist I have to say Im dumbfounded by ll the antiques and new inventory they put out daily! Im lucky to live so close that I cant ps by there without saying high to the guys and stop in to see what I waiting for me. Also Im always treated with an abundanceof help and courtesy and their prices Wayne and wax from extremely cheap and very fair. They except most materials there and give fair trade or store credit. If your in the area it a must to check this store out before you go to home depot or Lowes. I found that there selection of chandeliers are bar none the best ever theres hundreds of them from contemporary to ancient and everything in between youll never see a selection this unique and diversified in any other store.5 stars guys you earned it
I could have spent hours on hours looking around.
When you purchase anything from rescue BAllArd it gives you that feeling of preserving our world which is very much important reducing the waste and keeping track of our waste Management is very important to our society for my kids and your kids too be able to see a tree being grown in the future your kids your grandkids will enjoy it
A super awesome antique store. Theres everything here, new and used for building new, refurnishing, remodeling or collecting. Fair prices, good location, friendly people, and amazing finds!
In love with this place. Selection, customer service and the abundance of amazing inventory cannot be questioned.
Amazing! Got the antique glass I was looking for.
THE place to go to find that thing you never knew you needed. The staff is helpful and friendly and the selection is always changing, and is ALWAYS interesting.
Went here to recycle some paint. Was super quick and easy, just drove up and they came out with a cart and picked it up from the back of my SUV, then rang me up right there from their phone. $5 a gallon and $2 a quart for acrylic/water based or latex. Totally worth not having to buy a bunch of kitty litter and mix it into each bucket to dry it out. Will return again for any future paint recycling.
Obtain the unobtainable and antique.
Lunch time closed 1pm to 130pm
The people there were very adaptable considering they ask that you make an appointment. As a walk in, they made room for me since the store was essentially empty. They were helpful and honest about the newer policy of no returns due to COVID.
I love coming here! They have so many different, useful things. I went this weekend and had forgotten about all the tools they have! I have had to buy some wrenches recently and I totally forgot they have heaps of them here. This is a great place to check for any tools, building supplies, finishes or hardware if you have a project going on. You might have to do a little digging, UT its totally worth it. They have just the right amount of staff around, they are helpful and enthusiastic.
Covid19 protocol, very well organized, storekeepers knew their merchandise very well. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place
Great place with a ton of unique items for any type of low budget renovation / project
Really cool stuff for remodelling in a retro fashion, prices are great too!
All the wonders. Seriously great place to find things. Super crazy 8 mm brass bolt? 13 different kinds of wall sconces? All somehow intriguing? Ever changing always wonderful.
Fantastic store. great selection and prices. good staff too.
Really cool place all kinds of treasures to be had here. Limited number of people allowed inside at a time.
Awesome place! Filled with building treasures from homes that were torn down. Instead of going to a land fill, the stuff gets sold to others. Today I was looking for a door for the shed I built. There were lots of options. This is a great place to look for replacements for almost anything in your home: knobs, hinges, racks, sinks, table tops, lumber, you name it. Its fun to just go and look around.
Cool people that work there, a lot of cool stuff for food prices
We needed a door, we found the door, we installed and painted the door. Now we are Happy! You can find so many household treasures here or replacement items for homes of most eras. Amazing selection and helpful staff. Ive donated stuff here and purchased stuff here.
You could save tons of money I you take some time to find right one, this place has everything you need.
They have hardware sinks, doors and a whole lot more, some new and a lot of usedGood prices too.
Lots of great items from old houses etc. helpful staff, good prices, pretty well organized overall but dont go in if you are short of time. too many distractions
I love this place with friendly staff offering good customer service 👍🏽👍🏽
Packed with items to support your home improvement project. Most Products are used though quantity with plenty of life. Bonus tool room!
Awesome upcycle store, all kinds of things from old windows to furniture, tile, and garden items. Plus an assortment of vintage lighting fixtures. All reclaimed from demolitions and remodels.
Awesome people working
Great shop, wonderful staff, very interesting products!!
Marvelous junk, marvelous staff.
This place is amazing. Flooring, lighting, tile, doors... It is a reclaimed wonderland.
Too little time to write all I want to about this Alladins cave of salvaged gems! Its absolutely worth a look, just for recreational purposes. Definitely an imagination kickstarter if youre having creative constipation.Psst! They have Boeing crate wood for home projects in stock right now! Could be your last chance given the current situation. In ridiculously short summation: Tons of reclaimed lumber (of all kinds), astounding amounts of doors, windows and lights, amazing tools and some mind-bending bargains to boot.Your spouse will love that 6 foot high ship-mooring -bollard foundry pattern, that wooden foot powered organ or even the sheet of precision ground aluminum etc. etc. etc.Fantastic! But BR... stop trying to become home depot, eh! No really.
They do a great job of making available quality used building materials to the public. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff is very helpful. Much better than putting this great stuff in a landfill.
This place is huge but they are only letting like 20 people tops in at a time which seems like overkill. Unless you make an appointment, you will likely be waiting a while. I wont be going back any time soon
So fun to browse, antiques and bits of local history and building supplies from many eras. I usually find the specific item I need or something I didnt know I needed. Very educational if you are maintaining an older house. Period furniture and furnishings, odds and ends. And shop cats!
Love this place, so many treasures and finds, has saved us a lot of money going with second use items.
Eccentric and friendly !
Its okay. they do have an enormous selection of good items but they are way over priced. it is fun to go and just check out the great things they have.
Tons of cool stuff here. Ive bought several things either looking for a specific piece for a project, or just browsing and found something unique. Donated a few things too. Most of the staff is really nice. Sometimes you can bargain a little bit with them on price if youre getting several items or something, sometimes they are not having it, which I understand since Im sure they deal with lots of crap from customers. Still better than buying new, and keeps cool modern and vintage stuff from going to the dump!
Too much good stuff.Love that as I donated some things a guy leaving asked what I had.Perfect place whether you have a building or restoring project.
What a great place! Some many wonderful treasures from the past!
This place is amazing! Joel and his crew are very helpful and well informed. From finding an odd ball screw to a large reclaimed timber Ballard Reuse has got you covered.
Hard to walk out of here without something
Great place to find the obsolete fitting or hardware, as well as recycling good fixtures, plumbing, cabinets, wood, etc. Inventory is dynamic so go with ideas and stop by often... Some great pricing.
This place is awesome. I think of them as a lighting fixture place, but they had beautiful old doors, windows, doorknobs...furniture...if you need something for the house, try here first. The old stuff was durable and had character. If hollow doors and plastic windows irk you, go here instead.
A fabulous store! You can find virtually every household item you would ever need here ~ doors, doorknobs, chairs, windows, hinges ~ the list is endless! And all the merchandise is used ~ hence the name Ballard Reuse. If you own a home, you need to go to Ballard Reuse!
Real good help. I didnt find what I was looking for but I considered it a long shot anyway. The employee knew where it would be if they had it so it was a quick stop.
This quirky place is full of reused building goods. Before you go to the big box store, check in here. Youll find better prices and more character. Also, the staff is laid back and very helpful.
Good and helpful, check out 2nd Use south of downtown for similar store
You never know what you will find. Its a great place. Good prices too
Staff is friendly and surprisingly helpful. Employee named Daniel seemed invested in helping me find exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Great spot, some good used common tools - like screw drivers, combo wrenches, hammers, etc. Great for browsing :)
Ballard Reuse has been an indispensable resource to me while renovating my 1920s home. Brian & his team are super friendly and helpful. They dont just point you in the right direction & hope youll figure it out on your own. Everyone seems genuinely invested in making sure you leave with what you need to complete your project. Since theyre a few miles from my house, Ive purchased most of my reclaimed shiplap, concrete pavers, windows, marble counters, wood trim, vintage doors/hardware, cabinets and marble/ceramic tile from Ballard Reuse. Ive also found lots of cool one of a kind pieces like a speakeasy peephole, a chrome toothbrush holder (lazy susan style), a solid brass faucet set, door with a hidden table & stained glass windows. I recommend stopping in whether youre shopping for a unique gift or building materials to complete a home project.
Cool stuff...old stuff...real cool though
Fascinating place. Good source for things one might need to replace when remodeling, especially if it is an older home.
Yes Good
These guys are awesome! I first started coming to hunt through their tresure trove of tools - thats slowly blossomed into me grazing every section. I never know what type of project I am going to take on in any given week, at least until I visit ballard reuse. They are putting new things out daily! Admittedly, I mainly come to visit the shops resident cat though.
Fun store! Always neat to look around. I just got some cool reclaimed bowling lane material and floored my van with it...it looks great and cost less than a piece of new playwood of equal size and I didnt need to buy laminateo cover it like plywood cause it looks like real wood already!
What an amazing place! I am shopping here first before going to any hardware store. Their inventory is amazing, stuff you could never find anywhere, prices are quite reasonable and it keeps perfectly good stuff out of the landfill. Ill give one example: they have a huge pile of beautiful mahogany 4x4 stock - recycled from Boeing shipping crates! Where do you ever see that!? Saw a large sele tion of pre-hung doors, and its obvious they know how to do demolition properly to preserve it as a unit. Go check them out.
Amazing inventory
Love this place. Theyve got just about everything you could think of for fixing up your pad, if youre willing to dig and get a little grubby finding it.
I love Ballard Reuse. I never know what Im going to find, usually dont have any specific need, and rarely leave empty-handed. Folks working there patiently answer ALL my questions and dont get offended if I cant afford even the-frequent-customer best price from time to time. I drift in with tiny cat treats to offer the feline employees and always leave having seen/learned something amazing. Just be sure to get there with plenty of daylight left if youre looking for something in the backyard (marble, granite, garden pavers, bricks, pots, etc.) because they close it at sunset for obvious safety reasons. Not to worry though, theres always plenty to see inside. Go. Have fun. Pet the cats. Donate and/or buy something. Salvage the world! ♻
Ballard Reuse is a great store. The inventory rotates constantly, so you should visit often. The staff is the best in Seattle.
I LOVE this place!!! I always find something unique and useful.
Its what one might expect of a salvage stire- lots of interesting finds, some antiques, lots of hardware, pretty well-organized
Love this place. Loaded with hardware and stuff for creative construction.
Happy treasure hunting if you are remodeling or restoring. Know your retail. Price before buying
Great spot for vintage building materials
Cool place working hard to up-cycle. If you take your time you might find a hidden treasure.
Many useful things.( Fred Sanford)
Helpful, economical, great selection. Good people doing good work in the community.
Great place for vintage furniture and wood flooring!
Have had great luck shopping for small room flooring.
Lots of interesting reusable items
Really cool reseller of scrap, salvage, antiques and otherwise recycled building materials.
