---- MANGOs story continues ---- Mango SUFFERED for A WEEK before I took her from this place. Suzanne told me so many stories that I believed that she is a bird expert, HOWEVER she did NOT even take Mango to the vet when this happened. After some discussions she even told me that Mango bled a lot, so she lied to me first. The doctor also predicted that Mangos beak will never be the same and will grow abnormally and this would affect her life. This is the reason why I am writing this review a year after. Mangos lower and upper beaks are not aligned. Both her lower and upper beaks are now growing abnormally, she is still able to eat and drink, but there are major changes in her eating/drinking style as she is trying to adapt herself. She is more stressful, and I have to take her to the vet every one or two months for her beak because her lower beak is already tearing apart. This process was heartbreaking for both myself and Mango, please DONT BOARD YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. If Suzanne was careful enough to assist/observe my Mango as she was supposed to be, this would not have happened.

I would NEVER EVER take my green cheek conure (Mango) again here. Last year on August I boarded Mango to Pampered Parrots for a month because I was traveling abroad. During boarding, I was emailing with Susanne to get updates, and she told me her other traumatic (this is what she told me to explain the story of her own parrot) parrot just took a very tiny nip from Mango and she said there is nothing to worry about and my conure didnt even realize what happened. Considering how she simplified it I thought that it was just a few feathers bitten from my conure and nothing big. When I turned back, Suzanne acted like nothing happened and everything went just fine. When I got back home with Mango, I realized a very serious crack/fracture in her lower beak (you can check the pictures), she was visibly fluffy and exhausted like not even herself and I immediately took her to an avian certified vet. The doctor said it was a pretty serious injury, and Mango should have started the treatment right before this happened. Mango took 3 medications (a pain killer, an antibiotic, and an antifungal). ... --- story continues in the other review ---

Pampered Parrot has done an excellent job boarding my parrots for nearly five years. Suzanne always makes sure they have access to a healthy diet and plenty of attention. She is also my go-to for parrot related health and behavior questions. She has been a wealth of information for me. Her excellent level of care gives me peace of mind, which means a lot since I consider my birds as family.

You simply cannot do better than Suzanne and Pampered Parrot. She is PHENOMENAL! She provides personalized, loving care and has the professional education and training to help you care for your own bird better. She loves birds and goes the extra, extra mile to care for your bird and bond with them.Incredible avian knowledge and a wonderful person. We boarded our conure with Pampered Parrot for several weeks while selling our home and relocating to another state. Suzanne is a GREAT communicator and stayed in touch with us throughout the process providing us updates and pics of a very happy “Kirby” which really helped my wife and I focus on what we had to do and not worry about our bird. When we picked him up he hopped from my shoulder back to Suzanne where he nuzzled her neck. You will not find a more loving or better person to care for your bird. She really makes them feel at home. Highly recommend!

I have boarded my green-cheeked parrot, Verdi, with Pampered Parrot several times, and I couldnt be happier! Its always tough leaving my little Verdi behind when I travel, but I know hes in good hands when he stays at Pampered Parrot. Suzanne, the owner, really knows and loves birds, and I know Verdi is getting the very best care. Suzanne doesnt board a bunch of birds at the same time, so Im confident Verdi is getting the individualized attention he deserves. Suzanne has special bird rooms in her home, and they are light-filled and immaculately clean. She also has a good selection of safe, cute toys that are reasonably priced.

I cannot write enough good things about Pampered Parrot. We have an 8 yr old canary winged parakeet family member named Jimmie who lost her bird friend, Scout, last year. The loss of Scout changed everything for our family. Although Jimmie seemed fine, I stopped being able to take overnight trips because she would refuse to eat. Birds are not like dogs and I was never prepared to see how long this would last. Jimmie had never been boarded before and wed always left her in our home with a family member coming to stay with her - these are people that she knew and loved - but this was no longer enough. We cancelled trips and tried intermittently to see if she had returned to normal. She refused to eat with each trial. After 9 months we knew this wasnt a blip. Enter Auntie Suzanne. She has DECADES of experience with all things bird. From our first conversation, Suzanne was kind, knowledgeable and incredibly insightful. I scheduled an appointment for her behavior coaching which was immensely helpful. She gave me applicable information and ideas that I immediately put to use to help Jimmie get her swagger back. Within weeks, we all noticed a change. We scheduled a trip and discussed boarding with Suzanne. We both felt that Jimmie needed to be able to see and hear other birds. She needed a safe environment in which to build her confidence. Suzanne has an amazing group of rescued birds that share her home. She is meticulous about their care and needs. She is thoughtful about individual birds and we decided Jimmies cage placement would be where she could watch other feathered friends and (hopefully) eat when they ate, preen when they preened, etc. It worked like a charm. I worried about my girl but never for a moment worried that Suzanne didnt have eyes on her. I knew that Suzanne would monitor every morsel, every possible nibble. Jimmie adored camp (our term for Suzannes home). We received frequent texts and pictures of Jimmie out playing with Suzanne and EATING her favorite foods. We were THRILLED! Upon our return, Jimmie was happy to see me but didnt cling to me as she would have before camp and the changes we noticed since bringing her home have been so amazing. She is back to her confident, sassy self. She flies to all our family members and spends time with everyone and rarely seeks me out in the desperate way that she did after the loss of Scout. I never thought Id board our girl but after camp - I doubt Ill ever not board Jimmie with Auntie Suzanne. It is a vacation for her as much as it is for us. Thank you again, Auntie Suzanne! We look forward to our next vacation!!!

Suzanne is such a treasure! My dear companion, Mica, a green cheek conure, spent a whole year with her while I searched for a suitable place for us to live. During that year, I had the opportunity to spend time with them both and learn so much more deeply the nuances of the relationship that we share with our birds.Suzanne listens deeply, to both owners and birds, with a level of compassion and integrity that is remarkably effective in changing the relationship for the better. Before we moved to Seattle, I had been experiencing some behavioral challenges with Mica, and at the time was even considering rehoming her because it was so stressful for us both. In a phone conversation, Suzanne helped me to see through a different lens, how closely our birds bond with us, how change and adaptation are a natural part of their lives and ours, and that maintaining the relationship was the best thing for us both.I am deeply grateful to Suzanne that Mica and I are still together. She has instilled in my perception an awareness of how Mica responds to her surroundings and how vital it is to maintain a diet that is appropriate for companion parrots. Two of the greatest gifts that I have received from Suzannes coaching are that I now feel confident that I am meeting Micas needs, and that I pay attention to Micas body language much more adeptly.I feel that Mica was in the very best possible hands during our time apart and she has returned to me a happy and balanced companion.Suzannes ability to perceive and observe bird behavior and relationships is truly unique and valuable to anyone looking for the epitome of care. Her interaction is extended with gentle understanding and keen observation of where our birds are in the moment, and fitting together the pieces of why they act, or react, the way that they do. To say that her attention to the subtle details of a birds environment and knowledge of cross contamination is admirable, is an understatement. Her passion for her work shines through in our birds as they adapt and thrive in her loving care.

This was the first time we felt comfortable enough to leave our cockatiel at a boarding place. Our bird is our baby -- so it was truly important to us that this be the right fit. Suzanne took the time to really get all the information from us about his habits, likes, dislikes, etc as well as to answer all of our questions. Very knowledgeable about birds, she ensured that his environment was a safe one, and he apparently felt safe enough to do some exploring as well! For the 10 days while we were away, she regularly sent emails including photo updates and tidbits about his day, which truly put our minds and hearts at ease and allowed us to enjoy our vacation without worry. I always looked forward to reading and seeing the latest updates! We were also in the process of switching to a new avian vet, and she took the time to make a couple calls on our behalf while we out of the country. Our cockatiel definitely received 5 star treatment and looked happy and healthy when we arrived home. I wouldnt hesitate to put him in her care again in the future.***Update: I have since called Suzanne to pick her expert brain, related to our birds care. She went above and beyond, sending me resources and readily sharing her wealth of knowledge about diet and local veterinary care. So very grateful for her willingness to generously share her avian wisdom! If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would!

Weve been bringing our lineolated parakeet to Pampered Parrot boarding for many years now, and would feel uncomfortable bringing him anywhere else! Suzannes care has really been above and beyond- not only is she great to communicate with and flexible when travel plans unexpectedly go awry, she is incredibly knowledgable about avian behavior, and has taken the time to give us phone calls to offer advice and vet recommendations. It is also clear that she has a great passion and love of birds, and we love that she sends us photos and updates on our bird during our longer trips. I would recommend Pampered Parrot to any bird owner looking for the best quality care.

Susanne does not wake up until mid-day. How can she possibly take care of parrots? She seems nice, but she overcharges. She got mad at me because I needed to pick up my bird at 9, and she wanted me to wait until noon...after flying a redeye. She hid when I got there and had her roommate help me. She is not trustworthy and odd
