The absolute best chicken pesto grinder in the world. The owner and all of the staff here are friendly, engaging and polite. I havent had one of these sandwiches since the beginning of the pandemic and my heart, face and tumny are so happy right now. Today is their soft re-opening, free sandwich! I would have paid $100 for it.

A long time waiting for this place to reopen but, do not be surprised as this is one of the BEST grinders that I have ever had. The owner or manager was so nice that he have us a free soda and chips as he thought we had waited too long! It was well worth it and YES I will return over and over as I havent found a better grinder in SEATTLE!!!!! *****

I know it sounds hyperbolic to say this, but I am willing to go from a pleasant debate about Seattles Best Sandwich to a straight-up fistfight defending Royal Grinders honor. The sandwiches are on the greatest warm and soft bread. Everything is seasoned beautifully. They do not short you on meat or other items going in your sandwich. You want to go rogue and customize a little bit? They wont bat an eye and theyll just do it.Since the pandemic started, theyve been closed down for the protection of their staff (which I totally respect). That said, Ive lost custody of my children and gone through a divorce as I would constantly tell my family that Royal Grinders will open back up again. My empty promises have torn my family apart, but I will wait until the end of civilization as we know it if that means I can get my hands on another Royal Grinder with Ying Yang sauce again.

Straight up top 5 sandwich. Every bite was life-changing, the bread was perfect and choice of condiments are balanced masterfully with the Italian meats. I used to hate black olives but this sandwich changed my mind. $3.50 Fremont Brewing cans make the ~25-minute wait easier. If you live in Fremont, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by making this your new lunch spot. If you’re in Seattle, it’s worth the trip across the bridge.

If youre looking for a good sandwich - which I always am - come to Royal Grinders. It gets pretty busy during lunchtime, but its totally worth the wait. I always order the Italian Grinder - filled with all the good stuff! Toasted to warm perfection, with flaky, crusty bread...it couldnt get any better.Ive also tried the pineapple basil and strawberry jalapeno gelatos - fresh and rewarding after eating such a filling sandwich. If you dont care for the wait, call ahead and pick up your order!

Been here twice now and its amazing. The reason I did not give it 5 stars:I ordered the French dip since they do not have Philly cheese steak sandwich and asked for onions and yellow peppers on it, but much to my disappointment the yellow peppers were cut up so incredibly tiny that I literally had no idea the were even there and of course could not taste them. The onions were scarce too. They put too much basil butter or oregano (one of those) on the sandwich too and the taste was so pungent that I had to try to wipe some of it off with a napkin to taste the bread and meet inside. Other than that holy cow great sandwiches!

Best spot in town to get yourself a tasty grinder (that is what subs are called in New England). These grinders may take a while, and there can be a considerable wait during especially busy times, but it is sure worth the wait. The dining space inside is limited, so if you need, you can take it to go and bring your grinder right down the street to the new Aslan Brewery which happens to not have a food menu and welcomes takeout.

New owners from the last time that we visited a few years ago, we wont be back. The quality of the ingredients is no longer there, the thickness of the meat was wrong for the grinder, how the sandwich was layered together correctly into a masterpiece of a sandwich. Literally one of my favorite places to eat in the entire city. Im a carnivore but I dont eat lunch meat. These guys serve the best meat-replacement sandwich I have ever eaten by an enormous margin, and I have probably been here two dozen times just to pick it up: the field roast veggie Italian sausage.
