I have nothing but great things to say about the service here. I brought my van in for an initial inspection on a whim and Scott (shout out to Scott in particular as he worked with me the most), Keith, and the entire team of mechanics have been fantastic in solving all of its issues. They explain what needs to be done and what doesnt, and they stand behind their work. If youre looking for an honest shop look no further! Picture for fun, as without their work my van wouldnt be able to have fun pictures!

These guys are always stellar in regard to customer service as well as quality of car car. While my car was being serviced by them, I went to walk around the neighborhood, and ran into a lady who also happens to be their customer. She too shared with me how satisfied she is with their service of her car and that they have saved her car which she previously serviced at a shop that almost ruined it. It was lovely to run into a complete stranger who happens to have the same positive experience as I do with these wonderful people. She also led me to a little library where I found a fantastic book on health, but thats a whole different review.

Quick, honest, transparent, and does quality work. brought a car out of storage for an inspection and was provided a very thorough report and frank discussion of options. They were comfortable discussing priorities and doing some work and waiting on other items. inspection + work they had my car for just over 24hrs.

Staff was really friendly, everyone was really nice, but I brought in my car because the headlights didnt work, and that was the only problem I had with it. They told me it was a battery problem due to the anti theft system that had been put in by the last owner, and they had taken apart and rebuilt something to try to fix it. I had to pick it up early because they werent finished with it by end of day, but when I got it, the windows didnt work and neither did my speedometer. I made it home and the car died and never started again, so I couldnt bring it back, and I ended up having to junk it. They didnt have me pay for the diagnostic, so Im not mad or anything, it was just unfortunate :( Not sure if it was their fault or not, but the car had been running fine for two months before.

I cannot speak highly enough of this place and every single member of their staff that I encountered. We brought our car into Superior Auto Service after we had some repairs done by another shop, but then it gave out a horrible death rattle and wouldn’t start. The guys at Superior Auto not only found and fixed the problem the other guys missed, but they identified a number of potential future issues and detailed them out for us with a timeline of how to keep our car running. I have never found a more honest and genuinely helpful group of mechanics. These guys are proper Old Seattle, focused on good old fashioned customer service and honest dealings. Seriously, I cannot praise and recommend Superior Auto Service and every employee they have highly enough. If you want good honest dealings, it doesn’t get better than Superior Auto.

Ive used Superior for years on multiple vehicles. I always recommend them and they are my go-to mechanic. They dont try to gouge me and provide honest service.

Ive brought my car in twice now and I really like them. It can be slow to get an appointment because theyre so busy but very reliable and good customer service. They helped fit me in when I had some serious car problems recently and even though I had to wait a few days they got back to me with an assessment and quote really fast l. I also brought my car in right before memorial day weekend and they worked late just to get me my car back Friday night so I wouldnt have to wait for the long weekend! The quote was very reasonable for the required repairs and all repairs so far have been fully reliable. I hope I wont need a mechanic anytime soon but I know Id want to come back here if I needed it.

I rarely write a bad review, but this did not sit well with me. The guys working the front desk are really cordial but the overall customer experience was terrible. Even worse were the estimates for fixing issues found (expensive and a rip off for part prices... not sure about cost of labor, will check on that tomorrow). Anyways, I scheduled a maintenance check a week before and they said to come in at 9am and then told me it would take a couple of hours. So I decide to walk around the neighborhood/grab a coffee and then return 2 hrs later only to find out they didnt even start looking at my car. Only after asking about the car did they say they will move it to another technician but will be taking a lunch break from 12-1pm. Long story short, I didnt get the car back until 2pm. There excuse was that they were short staffed so I basically wasted my day from 9am - 2pm for what probably took 1hr max to check for issues with the car and not fix a thing. Talk about setting customer expectations! Then came the estimates in an email. Im not a mechanic, so I cant speak about the cost of labor, but when checking with Oreilly autoparts about the cost of products, it appears to me that Superior is just overcharging its customers. They are charging almost double what the actual parts costs. Check out the service estimates pic attached and then compare it against autoparts found at Oreillys for a 2006 Kia sportage EX. Given my experience at Superior, there is no way Im going to have my car serviced there... it would break the bank and I may not get my car back until a month later.

Best experience at a mechanic/auto shop!! When I took my beat-up car in for a diagnostic, they gave me the price it would take to fix everything. Upon giving them the go-ahead, Keith calls me a few days later when its all done and the cost ended up being LESS, even though they put in the work. Keith explained everything to me very well, was timely and responsive, and I will definitely be coming back here for my car needs.

Specifically I worked with Scott, but everyone I spoke with was very helpful! They made sure I understood what exactly they were finding on my car during the inspection, and made sure to lay everything out for what I could expect and experience. Service costs were reasonable and they kept me updated during the entire time. Definitely would recommend this business!

The gentlemen here are absolutely phenomenal! They treat you first class and provide superior service with incredibly affordable prices. Ive brought them a concern that I had taken to a couple places and these guys took a closer look and shared what was really going on. I’ve been going to Superior auto service for a couple years now and they are always so accommodating and helpful and get back to me as soon as they understand what the issue is. I had a recurring issue with a part (no fault of theirs) and Keith was so understanding and reasonable on the cost because he knew that the part shouldn’t have failed as quickly. I will only be going to superior auto service going forward, and I recommend anyone within the Fremont and Ballard area to do the same!

Check engine light came on in my car, after driving fine the previous day and prior. Diagnostic code said it was something electrical (I cant remember right now exactly), and when i tried to drive it, it shifted really hard and even when in park, the drive indicator light was blinking. A neighbor recommended Superior Auto Service, said theyd been happy with them for 10+ years. I called and made an appointment for the following day, brought it in in the morning and they had it back to me that afternoon. Good honest work. Will go there again when needed.

Would bring by car again. Recommend.They made me feel at ease. I had a service inspection done for $58.50. The inspection differentiated what needed to be repaired immediately, soon, or routine. They provided pictures of what they saw. They also provided me with the actual repair costs (associated parts and labor costs). All this was printed and sent to my email for future reference. Very helpful.

Had an unexpected cooling system problem with the car. Dropped it off after hours without an appointment. Keith quickly got it checked out and back on the road. SUPERIOR Service and customer first attitude.

As a woman with a limited knowledge of cars, I frequently experience mechanics taking advantage of me and essentially ripping me off. At Superior Auto Service however, this was not the case at all. I mostly spoke to Scott, who was extremely kind and respectful. He walked me through the damage to my vehicle and created three different and detailed options for me. He explained each avenue thoroughly, and answered every single question I asked. I will 100% be returning and referring my friends to this business!

These guys were awesome both times I have gone in to get things done. (Replace a serpentine belt and a blower motor transistor) Fair price, professional, humble, and the coolest cats in the auto-mechanic business that I know of! I trust this shop - have been a customer for 6 plus years for my own vehicle. This time was for my wifes Subaru; we had been using a dealership for maintenance but found it to be quite expensive.

These guys are always great. Brought in my new-to-me 2016 Wrangler for oil change and a basic inspection. It turned out so clean they didnt even charge me for the inspection.BTW: Their inspection is great; few hundred bucks to find out everything about your car. They do NOT try and force you to spend thousands fixing everything right away, but knowledge is key.

This is my go to auto shop. Theres an old saying, Fast, cheap, and good: pick two. These guys are fast and good and, lets be honest, when have you ever saved money doing it on the cheap? Its a local business and the guy who worked on my car last week also worked on it last year.Theyre big enough to have all the tools and expertise you need but small enough not to be some dealership wrench mill with a steady stream of recent graduates cycling through. Youll always see the same guys working here and thats the sign of a good shop, low turnover. And the work they do stays done. Theres no going back over and over again to have them guess again. Always A Good Experience! I used to live in Ballard/Fremont and would take my car into Superior Auto Service for any needed maintenance. I was always happy to do so as they were knowledgeable, helpful, informative, and FAIRLY priced. I now live on Vashon Island, but still make every trip possible to Superior Auto Service because I enjoy working with them so much more than other auto shops. This time, we were having an inspection done on a used car we were considering buying. The inspection was super thorough and again, they provided extensive details on what they found and their recommendations. I had a recurring issue with my car last year that had been fixed by multiple shops, only to reappear after a short time. The tech at Superior went to the trouble of building a tool to do it right, and I have had no problems since then. Just took the same car in for a diagnosis on another issue. When they couldnt get the problem to recur for them after several diagnostic drives, they told me to pick it up at no charge, and come back if it recurs. Ill be back if it does, and will bring all my vehicles to them when I need work done in the future.

Missed an issue with my vehicle but worked on it -free of charge- until it was completely corrected. No arguments, no threats- they just believed me and went to work. I was pretty impressed and I’ll be returning in the future for repairs.

I had my car towed here when it wasnt starting, I knew it needed a new battery but asked them to tell me what else it needed because it was pretty old and hadnt really had any problems and there had to be something, do a full inspection. They said all it needed was a tie rod/control arm and the battery.So I do the battery, wait on the control arm. But it still wasnt starting after getting a new battery. They tell me the car isnt starting because it thinks its getting stolen (makes sense I guess because it had been broken into a couple of times), I have take it to the dealership to clear the code. I say fine, since you have it, do the control arm if all its going to be is a quick thing at the dealership (maybe cost an hour of work).I spent like 300 dollars on the tie rod alone (plus more diagnostics) only to be told at the dealership that no, it doesnt think its being stolen, it needs a new starter and new brakes. 2k more in repairs. So now Im expecting it to be done with needing anything for a while, that was January through March that it was in and out of Superior and the dealership. But now in September, after more service lights coming on, I find out it needs a battery cable (wondering why that wasnt found when replacing the battery), and theres something wrong with all of the suspension/control arms after just replacing one among several other issues.I went back to Superior in Feb or March once I started getting another story from the dealership, and they did give me back some of the diagnostic fees since they misdiagnosed my car multiple times and charged me repeatedly for diagnostics, but I had to wait over an hour to get that money back and still poured money into a car that is and probably has been done since January.Im writing this review now because now that Ive bought a new car and found a shop that did the thorough inspection I was looking for in January, Im remembering how disappointed I am, and I chose them because of how many good reviews they have online.If you really want to know everything thats wrong with your car, go to full throttle auto sales in Tacoma. They found things that both Superior and the dealership missed and they charge less.

Needed an oil change/time up. It was done on time, they updated me on things that could need attention in the future but never pressured me to do anything.

First time using Superior Auto. Rob and the owner spent a lot of time with me discussing my car and my needs. Never seemed rushed or concerned about whether or not I was a worthy prospect, even before I set up my first appointment. The owner even gave me a ride to work after dropping off the car, which was a great help. I was very pleased with their work on my first visit and expect them to be my first choice going forward.

These guys were so kind and patient! I, like many, know next to nothing about car maintenance and they explained each service in detail. They were also super accommodating to my schedule and just all around pleasant! Ill be coming back here again.

What an awesome, friendly, and highly ethical team of professionals. I had no previous experience working with Superior, but found them on BizX. I called to see if they could replace an engine in my high mileage F150, and from the first couple of conversations I felt that they could easily manage the job...and they did. All communication was responsive, detailed and without any pressure. Once I decided to have the job done, they kept me updated on the progress and the expected completion date. Their timing was spot on, and I have since been driving the truck with no issues whatsoever. Note, although they are a long drive from my home in Issaquah, I will be using them for all vehicle servicing in the future.

I have taken five cars to Superior Auto throughout the years, and the service has always been professional and exact, as to the repairs that needed to be done on the vehicles. Their prices are very comparable to other repair shops as well. On my most recent visit, I chose what I thought would be the most important fixes needed right away, to a used car I had purchased just months earlier. I think I chose correctly, because the car has more get up and go now, and the front brakes dont grind anymore! And, it will be even better, when I get the other couple of items taken care of. Perfect service! We had to change the timing belt and repair the handbrake. The service was excellent, the maintenance inspection beforehand was really detailed with a lot of pictures. It took only a day for the car to be repaired. I definitely recommend the place!

Always great customer service by Charlie and Keith. They don’t recommend unnecessary work - in fact they told me I could come in less often for oil changes since we don’t drive that much. Reasonable prices! Give them your email address to get $15 coupons off every few months.

I contacted them initially for a Full inspection since I am seeling my car. As far as I can tell, they made that easy, quick, perfect. I mean, wow. My check engine light was on. These guys sent me a well outlined report & quote for repair in a timely manner. I hadn’t done really any work to my now 110k mile VW so I asked them to look the car over. Well they found A LOT. But it all made sense so I said go ahead. Then they kinda messed something up. It wasn’t tragic for me though because they made it all right and took good care of me in the process. What more can you ask for?

I’ve gone to Superior Auto several times now to have my Jeep taken care of. They’ve done well to repair the vehicle and I’ve been able to count on them for reliable service. The customer service is also prompt and transparent. I’ve had good experiences here and trust that many others will be able to say the same.On my last visit, I had a real sour experience and I don’t anticipate going back because of it. I’ll keep it brief, but I think it’s worth mentioning the experience. Upon getting the keys back and pulling out of the driveway, I noticed an abnormal ticking noise other than the normal noises my car tends to make. I went back to the desk and spoke to them about it, and had it mansplained back to me how they would personally pay for a repair at another shop because I wasn’t going to find another shop who would say that my noise was related to the repair service I had just received. They said if it would make me feel comfortable, they’d have the mechanic step outside and look at the car with me. While I walked outside with the mechani, my wife remained in the waiting room (out of sight to the front desk) and heard the front desk guy I’d been speaking with say “some days I just want to choke em more than others.” When she made her way around the corner, moments later, the worker spoke up and said, “oh, you’re still here. That stuff I was saying earlier was just about a coworker I’ve been having trouble with.” Regardless of whether or not the comment was made towards me or his coworker, I’m not a huge fan of supporting a staff who says they want to choke people behind their customer’s backs.Like I said, they do good work, so I’m not revolting and telling everyone to stay away from them. I just didn’t have a good experience and I don’t trust them very much because of it.

These are my go-to for our 2007 Saturn Ion, with 130k miles on it.Two years ago, their annual inspection revealed a leaking gas tank. So they researched the problem, found that it was covered by a recall, and showed me how to verify it, so I could take the car to a GM dealer and get the work done at less cost to me.Their estimates for their own work are accurate and honest, they deliver work on time.I’ve been using them for over five years.Highly recommend you do the same.

Got my car serviced here for several years and always had a really great experience. They are super friendly, helpful, and will give you honest suggestions on the cheapest fix possible if you are on a budget. I also love the after hours pick up and drop off options. Highly recommend!

Always found them to be honest and easy to work with. I like the drop box that lets me drop the vehicle off the night before so they have it first thing. Their techs are solid, Ive not had them misdiagnose an issue in all the years Ive gone there.

Really nice place. Staff are friendly and professional. I had some squeaking sound coming from the suspention when turning the wheels at low speed. After inspection, they determined that the car is safe to drive despite the sound and they didnt charge me anything for the inspection. I tried another auto service place nearby for the next maintenance and asked the same question about the squeaking sound. They came up with the same conclusion but charged me over $100 for the labor. In conclusion, Superior auto is an honest, professional and nice place to have the car serviced.

Place was professional and nice. Location is a bit tough. They didnt call me when my car was done but I wasnt in a rush. Wishes they were open until like 6 or 630pm some days as 5pm is nearly impossible for me. Overall pleased.

When your kids have moved to the big city, it is hard to find reliable and honest businesses which will aid them when their vehicles have problems. Several years ago, I had to resort to Angies List to find such a provider in Seattle. Superior Auto Service came highly recommended so I took a chance and scheduled my sons car for service there. I didnt know these people but because of the reviews, I felt certain we would get the service we need. I really wanted the type of service that I was used to in the small Washington town in which I live.Since our initial meeting to now, Superior has never disappointed and has met the standards which I am used to having. I love this place. We moved farther away and still drive to go there. They are honest and quick and will let you know what is important to fix and what can wait and why. They are friendly and professional!

After checking out a place to get my Air Conditioning fixed i found SAS on the web, after reading the previous reviews I decided to take my car to have service done. I was given an appointment in a very timely manner, called on Monday got in on Wednesday. They quoted me for the services I requested and stuck to those prices. They recommended services that needed to be done, but there was no heavy sales push to do it now. I was treated fairly and courteously by everyone I dealt with. I would take my car there again for service.

I have been taking my Honda civic to them for years. Always super nice and reliable. I have never had any problems. They probably arent the cheapest in town but very honest and reliable. My wife had taken her saturn to them for years as well before we sold it.

Superior Auto are very knowledgeable and they will tell you in detail what is the current status of your vehicle and gives you the option to decide how you want to proceed. I have been taking my vehicle for the past several years and they are very reasonable and super friendly. I would recommend them to all my friends. EDIT: I havent owned a car for three years and just bought one yesterday. I was pleased as punch to take it in for a pre-purchase inspection and find that Superior is just as great as it always was. They worked us in at the last minute, did a thorough inspection and took the time to explain to me and the seller the issues with the car. And, as always, Charlie took an interest in making sure I understood it all. When I get the work done, Ill be back for sure.I cant believe I am writing a review for a mechanic, but this place is worth it. Everytime I go there, I am reminded why I do. The work they do is good and always done to my satisfaction for a fair price (though I only go to them for the big jobs. I dont get oil changed here or new brakes or what have you. For stuff like that, I go to the chains where they have much lower prices). almost as important, when I talk to Charlie at the front desk, he is always friendly and fully explains everything to me as clearly as possible. He is thorough and more than willing to answer any and all questions about the car.I fully recommend this place.
