I love going to this place, mainly for the bookstore that is located here, but for food stuffs from Asia - you will not find a better spot. The bookstore, though, well…that is a small piece of heaven on earth. Aside from books they also sell notebooks with excellent paper, a wide selection of writing instruments, and fountain pens along with ink. It is a rare thing to find a physical location with fountain pens, so if that is a thing you like, go check this place out.Parking is paid, but purchases will get your parking validated.

A really nice, well stocked grocery store of various Asian cuisine and foods. Prices are fair and there is a large selection of items. I purchased a fe w beverages and snacks from here.On your way out, there’s a prepared food section. I ordered a mini combo and that filled me up, it was really good. So if you have the time and if you’re hungry after grocery shopping, the prepared food section is worth a stop!

Asian cuisine supplies store .. including groceries, gifts, books, and kitchen wares; The newly remodeled store has reopened with an even BROADER selection of products than before - cleaner and better quality - or at least the shelves & displays are significantly more appealing and SO ATTRACTIVE that you are COMPELLED TO have some! There’s a broad cross-cultural variety (East Asian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc) of foods, and I was please that I could find the quirky selection of groceries that I needed. And after grocery shopping, in case you are not in the mood to cook, on your way out, there’s the deli & prepared takeaway foods, in addition to the food court - for your convenience.

This is a classic Seattle Staple for Asian and other international grocery items. Convenient downtown location with a parking lot available (pending validation based on purchase) they have pretty much everything you could need in both asian/international + regular grocery items. Only negative is its now a tourist attraction and can be very busy because of that. There may be better options for regular asian/International groceries close to you if youre a Seattle native.

Uwajimaya has fresh, high quality produce and seafood. Things are generally higher priced than other grocery chains. Consider the quality, it is worth it. This is an interesting Asian grocery store thats close to Lumen field. There is a small food court in front of the inside entrance to the grocery store. Theres a solid selection of food stuff here, although the crowds right before a Sounders game definitely do a number on their bakery items and sushi offerings. Theres not a ton of check out stands here, so the lines can be a little long, but most people werent buying a ton of stuff when we were there, so that was a plus.

Ive been coming to this Uwajimaya for over 15 years now, whenever I am in Seattle, and I know that they are at the tail end of, or have just completed a major renovation. And I hate to say it, but Im not digging it. Again, I might be prejudging things because it might not be the final finished product, but the entire space seems too open, kind of cold, and I dont know...bland somehow. The food court is a pale shadow of what it used to be, with several vacancies, so Im hoping this will fill itself out in the next few months or years. However, saying anything else disapprovingly would be doing a great disservice to this amazing grocery chain. Their produce and meat sections are still among the best youll find anywhere...and I mean -- anywhere --. Not to mention the huge variety of Japanese and pan-Asian Foods, condiments, treats, alcoholic beverages, pastries, deli items, and so many things I cant even remember them all. I dont think I have ever left and Uwajimaya without spending at least $50, and I dont feel guilty about it. Even in this new and somewhat off-putting configuration, there is absolutely no doubt that Uwajimaya is the best of the best when it comes to grocery stores. There simply is no comparison of quality anywhere. If you disagree, the burden of proof is on you.

I love it here. So many great items you can get that you cant find in an American grocery store. I can browse here all day long. Love looking at the home goods and snacks even more than the groceries. Some things to note:- Parking is validated if you spend over $10 so keep your receipt and make sure to validate your ticket before you leave.- Hot food service in the back - I recommend the meats hanging like the teriyaki chicken and the duck and pork but I Do Not recommend the hot food bar. Compared to the one in Bellevue, this one has a lot fewer options and I find the food not as fresh. I would recommend opting for the prepared food options like their breakfast meals (cant understand how they make their scrambled eggs and rice taste so damn good), Japanese Sandwiches, or their bowls like Beef Don and such.- Sandwiches go fast! If you want all the selections, get there early.

Uwajimaya... This store is an important piece of Seattles history. More specific to Seattles Chinatown history. You can find most of your ingredients for nearly all types of ethnic foods. They have food from representing all parts of Asia from Chinese and Japanese to Indian, Filipino, and everything in between.Pros: fresh produce, great butcher section, knowledgeable fish mongers, and fresh fish arriving daily. Parking is validated with minimum purchase. Oh the snack aisle is. Insane! Most importantly they have such an awesome staff.Cons: items can be pretty pricey. They off set this by weekly ads. However the ads may not contain items you really need (that can be said about most grocery store ads)Look for their ads and go early to find yourself some goodies.

The gold standard in Seattle supermarkets. The place is HUGE, and they dont just stock Asian food items, but things you would do find in a typical mid to high end Seattle supermarket like Town and Country, PCC Community Markets, and maybe Whole Foods Market. The produce section is fresh, they have a fantastic chocolate section with local and international brands you will not find elsewhere. they sell liquor, sake, beer, soju, even local canned wine, and sake thats packaged like a kids juice box. Lots of non alcoholic drinks and novelties. Fresh and prepared foods. They got local Ellenos yogurt, and Kerrygold butter at lower prices than at other bougie markets. High end teas from Asia, as well as local options like Portland tao of tea. The thing I like most about Uwajimaya is the sheer variety and well stocked shelves and room to walk around comfortably. This is not a 99 ranch type of asian supermarket with low end national brands, Uwajimaya is decidedly higher end.

I love Uwajimaya - I can find a lot of things there that I cant find at other grocery stores. However, the one thing I dont like is their bathroom having a code. They print it on the bottom of the receipt so Id recommend if youre like me and when you gotta go you need a bathroom NOW - buy a $1 item right when you walk in so you have a receipt with the code on it. Ive been there twice where I had to go and left my cart with my friend since you cant take unpaid merchandise into the bathroom. The first time the restaurant in the food court across from the restroom was nice enough to tell me the code. I saved the code in my phone but they change it every so often. The second visit, they just straight up ignored me but thankfully someone went in and I was able to follow after.Uwajimaya, some people have health problems and when they need to go they need to go without barriers - if you dont want people doing drugs in there, install blue lights - you cant find a vein in blue lighting. And if its about keeping homeless people out, well, they need to use the bathroom too and deserve a place to do so.But until they change this, I guess buy a dollar item and get the code before you start really shopping
